Next site, is the National Museum of Ukrainian Folk Decorative Art in Kyiv. It was established in 1899 and is one of the largest art museums in Ukraine and is located on the Kyiv Pechersk Lavra grounds. The collection has over 79,000 artifacts dating from the 15th century to modern-day items. It has Ukraine's largest collection of artworks by Maria Prymachenko, including more than 650 paintings. It also has a large collection of traditional Ukrainian clothing. I love how colorful Ukrainian clothing is. I will attach a link to the awesome Ukrainian Museum Portal, where you can take an online virtual tour of the museum.

Next site is a little different. Since it's almost Christmas, I want to visit some Ukrainian Christmas trees. We're visiting first, Kyiv, then Odesa, then Kharkiv, and last, but definitely not least, Bakhmut. 🎄

And here's another pic of Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Olena Zelenska in happier times. I believe this pic was taken in Turkey. I hope that all Ukrainians can look this carefree again as soon as possible.

I decided to make a new banner for my Twitter account. (Yeah, I still call it Twitter, and I'm still there. As long as Ukrainians are there, I will be there.) A very appropriate quote on this two year anniversary of muscovy's full-scale terrorist invasion of Ukraine.

And, here's another Volodymyr Zelenskyy quote.
"I believe in the power of unity and the strength of the people."

Next site, the Chocolate House in Kyiv. It's an 18th-century Venetian Renaissance style building that is considered to be an architectural monument. It's named after its dark chocolate color, & it has a beautiful interior. It's now a museum.

Next site, is Ukrainian artist Mykola Kornylovych Pymonenko (Микола Корнилович Пимоненко). He was born in 1862 in Priorka, a village near Kyiv. He studied at the Kyiv Art School and later in St. Petersburg at the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts and at the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts. He returned to Kyiv in 1884 due to poor health. He possibly suffered from tuberculosis. He did find work teaching drawing and art. He also helped decorate St. Volodymyr's Cathedral in Kyiv in 1897. He passed away in 1912 after an illness.

My next post in support of Ukraine is:
Next site, is one we visited in my Ukraine thread on December 2, 2023. The Desna River (Річка Десна). It starts in muscovy and flows into Ukraine. I'm adding it to my Ukraine thread again because muscovy has poisoned the waters of the Desna River in an act of ecocide. The current administration of the US is so worried about eScAlaTiOn that muscovy is getting away with things like poisoning a river. Destroying a dam and flooding thousands of acres. Taking over a nuclear power plant.

The scale of the destruction is so huge that you can literally see the front line from space. That smooth area in the image is the flattened front line area. Forest areas and steppe lands are being destroyed.

The last part obviously didn't have to do with the poisoning of the river. I included that to show how horribly massive the amount of destruction muscovy is causing to the ecology of Ukraine.
Just adding another bit to this post.
Any asshole responding to my Ukraine posts from muscovy with nasty and rude comments can fuck off. Their responses will be deleted, and their accounts will be blocked. I will not entertain muscovy terrorist pieces of shit. And even if you respond in "russian," I will still verify the crap you're spewing, delete it, and block your account. The one I just did replied in "russian" to this post telling me that I "have a toilet in my head." Nope, that's actually you effing muscovy terrorists.

Next site, I know Vyshyvanka Day was in May, but the Vyshyvanka is today's site. I really love the colorful Ukrainian embroidered shirts. I'd like to find a short sleeve vyshyvanka if possible as I can get too warm in long sleeve shirts sometimes.

And here's an article all about vyshyvankas.

My next post in support of Ukraine is:
Next site, is another Ukrainian. Kateryna Vasylivna Bilokur (Катерина Василівна Білокур), a folk artist who was born in the village of Bohdanivka in what is now Kyiv Oblast in 1900. She started drawing as a child, even though her parents wouldn't allow it. She continued to secretly draw on rags using coal. She eventually started painting. In 1940, she sent a drawing of a viburnum to singer Oksana Petrusenko after hearing her sing, "Or Was I Not the Viburnum on the Meadow" on the radio. It impressed the singer so much that she consulted with the Folk Art Center, which led to someone going to Bohdanivka to find the artist and her artworks. An exhibit was held later in 1940 of Kateryna's full collection of paintings, which at that time was only 11 paintings. In 1951, she was awarded the "Badge of Honor," and named an "Honored Art Worker of the Ukrainian SSR." She mostly painted flowers, but also some landscapes and portraits. In 2000, she was honored on a Ukrainian stamp. She passed away in 1961 after having an unsuccessful surgery.
