Germany has had enough and is letting Ukraine use long range missiles

The German chancellor has said that Germany, along with Ukraine’s other main western supporters, will remove range restrictions on weapons delivered to Kyiv for the first time, to enable it to defend itself against Russia. Friedrich Merz said Germany, Britain, France and the US had lifted the restrictions to enable Ukraine to be better able to hit military targets on Russian territory. “There are no longer any range restrictions on weapons delivered to Ukraine – neither by the British, nor by the French, nor by us, nor by the Americans,” he said on Monday, following Russia’s largest drone attack on Ukraine of the war to date. “This means that Ukraine can now defend itself, for example, by attacking military positions in Russia … with very few exceptions, it didn’t do that until recently. It can now do that.”

Russia has been the clear aggressor from the start and Ukraine needs to defend itself to the fullest.

I don't know how far long range missiles go, but it would be great to see Ukraine take out the rail connection between Russia and North Korea. I'm sure Ukrainian Military Intelligence (ГУР) already has some good targets in mind.

Ukraine is inflicting heavy damage on Russia's military even now. It blew up a Russian military train in spectacular fashion in the Russian occupied Ukrainian region of Zaporizhia.

The clearest way to peace is to defeat Russia. Putin doesn't want peace, he wants Ukraine. He's a psychopath who won't stop until somebody stops him. There needs to be a clear tangible message, once and for all, that he can't have it his way.

And an end to the conflict is in the best interests of Russians. Russian losses are approaching 1,000,000.

The war really will end 24 hours after the Russian invasion of Ukraine ends.

А трудный период так и не заканчивается...

У нас новый препод по корейскому в универе. Пожалуй, единственный человек, кто свой предмет действительно знает (ну, неудивительно, ее же к нам с мгу подогнали; хотя я почему-то услышала, что она из Самары...). Нам объясняли хангыль с точки зрения древнего языка и почему он вообще появился как он есть, а ещё причем здесь 한자. Ну, для кривозубой крестьянки как я это как минимум удивительно, что кто-то действительно into subject, а не просто рубит бабло со студентов.

Но счастье не длилось вечно🤡 как оказалось, ею попросту помахали нам перед носом, отправили в пешее эротическое, и только из статьи на сайте вуза я узнаю, что она на какое-то время, а затем дистант с ней🤡 а я, 씨발, на очном учусь. За 121 тысячу в год.

За 121 тысячу я получила то, что преподавательский состав вряд ли пошевелится, чтобы найти преподавателя. Хоть какого-то. Потому что, как выяснилось, это тоже, скорее всего, не их заслуга, а ещё одного человека, который у перваков ведёт интенсив. И, вот это да, он тоже приглашенный препод! Наверное, поэтому ответственный.

Была у нас с ним вчера небольшая беседа, где он рассказывал, что искал для уника в другом городе договор с Северной Кореей. И вроде как нашел. То есть, это не так сложно что ли? Тогда какого хрена наш ✨святейший препод.состав✨ сидит и надеется, что он (договор) будет!? Да им похеру. Надеются они, угу ага.

Вчера вечером я словила дикую истерику из-за этого и плюс ещё одна личная причина. Вела себя, мягко говоря, неадекватно, со школьных времён я такого не позволяла показывать людям. Мысли на публику свои и желания озвучивать не буду, поскольку, вероятно, это может расцениваться как террористическая атака или вроде того. А я всё-таки держу себя в руках чуть-чуть.

Но я сейчас в апатии и ужасно расстроена. Не то чтобы это мешало мне жить и делать то, что я делала до этого, но смысл жизни (которого у меня и так по сути не было никогда) kinda потерян. Единственное, что мне искренне хочется, так это забрать диплом и больше не вспоминать обо всем этом. Можно сказать, сейчас я начала плыть по течению, и задвинула все свои мечты куда подальше. По крайней мере, оно так ощущается.

A number of countries in the global South give Russia a mulligan because they fail to recognize that even though Russia didn't have colonies in Africa, South & Southeast Asia, or Latin America, it was indeed a classic colonial power. Russia's colonies were in Eastern Europe and Central Asia and the brutality it exercised in those regions was not that different from what Western European powers did in the developing world. There was genocide, economic exploitation, and political repression. Ukraine was under Russian/Soviet control longer than India and Nigeria combined were under British rule.

Putin is trying to revive Russian colonialism as an alternative to actually modernizing Russia. Russian troops famously steel toilets from Ukraine largely because almost a quarter of rural Russians still depend on outhouses.

Russia is largely a feudal society where Putin is the tsar, the oligarchs are the boyars, and the bulk of the impoverished population are the equivalent of serfs.

As for the matter of size, some perspective...

Homophobia is a reliable metric of derangement, and the Putin régime is officially homophobic. 

Putin has delusions of grandeur. He regards himself as the 21st century version of Peter the Great. And like other narcissistic authoritarians, Putin surrounds himself with advisers who only tell him what he wants to hear. So nobody was around to tell him that invading Ukraine was a dumb-ass idea.

So Putin and his clique dredge up bizarre excuses for Russia’s miserable failures in Ukraine. The three-day “special operation” is now in Day 547 (or is it 548?).

Ukrainians are tougher because they are smart and because they are fighting for their existence; Russia’s army is poorly trained, poorly equipped, and requires convicts to keep it from shrinking. Hundreds of thousands of tech savvy Russians have fled the country – leaving the dumbest and most corrupt people behind.

Ukraine’s ability at innovation is world class. You get an innovative mindset in free countries – in dictatorships you think what you are told to think. Ukraine manages to develop new weapons like sea drones while Russia relies on decaying crap left over from the decrepit USSR.

Let Putin’s lickspittles make up zany alibis for Russia’s continuing failures. They are losing the present and will lose the future. This era in Russian history will be remembered most for assassinations, gross incompetence, rampant corruption, and depraved leadership.

Markov said the U.S. and Ukraine will use “neuro-linguistic programming” and other brainwashing techniques to turn Ukrainian soldiers gay against their will. In reality, there’s no evidence that psychological methods can change a person’s sexual orientation.

“They have an artificial political science fascism created by American and British political technologists. They will turn them into zombies, into cult members. I think they will force some to become homosexuals,” Markov claimed.

Я давно не испытывала таких эмоций от просмотра фильма. Я смотрела завороженная, не могла оторваться, хотя в большинстве хронометража показывался экран компьютера главной героини. Фильм полностью погружает в события, невозможно оторваться от просмотра. Те��я будоражит, пугает и по телу бегают мурашки от осознания происходящего. Главное зло не сверхъестественное, а люди, я в который раз в этом убеждаюсь. После просмотра мне хотелось обсуждать этот фильм, я прошерстила весь интернет и наткнулась на книгу журналистки, по которой этот фильм и снят. Посмотрела отзывы на книгу и в этот же вечер села за чтение.

Я не согласна со многими отзывами, что фильм получился лучше, чем книга. Книгу называли сухой, рванной, непонятной. Для меня и фильм оказался атмосферным, но и книга погрузила меня в события настолько, как будто я находилась рядом вместе с героиней и проживала все эмоции, что и она.

Фильм приближен к книге, но и книга раскрывает глубже те события и автор рассказывает про свою работу журналистом так, что по телу начинают бегать мурашки. Ее общение с террористом пугает, как будто мошка попалась в паутину к пауку, но не все так просто, как кажется на первый взгляд. Автор показывает психологию жертвы, как происходит вербовка и на что направлена деятельность в интернете запрещенных организаций. Еще больше пугает осознание того, что все это доступно за пару кликов, как происходит подмена понятий и какие же люди жестокие и беспощадные.

Книга пугает, шокирует, она не оставляет равнодушным. Думаю, что я очень долго буду под впечатлением. И все же книга для меня чуточку выигрывает фильму, потому что поведение героини становится более понятным, а вот при просмотре возникает один вопрос, который тоже не давал мне покоя.

Essentially, Putin has declared war on liberal democracies. And it's not just a symbolic or verbal war. Russia is now engaging in acts of sabotage and violence – in addition to his usual disinformation barrage – in Western countries.

Europe on high alert after suspected Moscow-linked arson and sabotage

Security services around Europe are on alert to a potential new weapon of Russia’s war – arson and sabotage – after a spate of mystery fires and attacks on infrastructure in the Baltics, Germany and the UK. When a fire broke out in Ikea in Vilnius in Lithuania this month, few passed any remarks until the Polish prime minister, Donald Tusk, suggested it could have been the work of a foreign saboteur. Investigators have already alleged potential Russian involvement in an arson attack in east London, an inferno that destroyed the largest shopping mall in Poland, a sabotage attempt in Bavaria in Germany and antisemitic graffiti in Paris. While there is no evidence that any of these incidents across the continent are coordinated, security services believe they could be part of an attempt by Moscow to destabilise the west, which has backed Ukraine. [ ... ] Last week, Tusk revealed Polish authorities had arrested nine people in connection with acts of sabotage allegedly committed on the orders of Russian services. He said the crimes allegedly included “beatings, arson and attempted arson” with investigators looking into whether Russia was involved in the fire in a shopping centre in Warsaw, a claim the Russian embassy described as a conspiracy theory. [ ... ] On Tuesday, the Estonian defence minister, Hanno Pevkur, in Brussels for an EU defence summit, said the country had already been the victim of Russian sabotage. “They have conducted similar operations in Estonia. They hired 10 people to attack the car of the interior minister and a journalist’s car. This is normal behaviour of Russia. We are sorry to say but we need to understand that Russia is more and more aggressive towards European countries and also Nato countries,” he said. He was referring to incidents in February when the windows of cars belonging to the interior minister, Lauri Läänemets, and a journalist were smashed. Six people were arrested shortly afterwards, including Russian nationals and dual Russian-Estonian citizens, the prosecutor said. In Germany, there are also suspicions of foreign intelligence-driven attacks in addition to a wave of cyber-attacks in 2023 by a hacker group linked to Russian intelligence.

Putin somehow expects European countries to be intimidated by his terrorism for hire tactics. He also expected Ukraine to collapse in three days.

Instead of cowering in a corner because of Putin's tactics, NATO is both stepping up its aid to Ukraine and is considering loosening its restrictions on how Ukraine can use those weapons.

Я чувствую себя ужасно. Хотела написать о работе сегодня – прошло пять первых дней и теперь будут выходные – но я вышла из офиса и хотела сказать "пока, хороших выходных!" девушке, которая стояла у входа и курила, но она очень эмоционально спросила – "ты видела, что происходит?" Я отвечаю – "нет, что такое, когда я уходила, вроде бы всё было нормально?" "Ты видела, что происходит?!", и она трясёт телефоном. "Нет, я весь день не читала новости, что такое?" И сразу же в голове встаёт всякое и поднимается тревога. Обстреливают Москву? Дроны, наступление на российской границе? Террористическая атака? Тактическое использование ядерного оружия? Третья мировая война? Ну, вряд ли, я же всего пару часов не читала новости и десять минут назад видела в офисе коллег, которые были спокойны? "В упор расстреливают людей! В «Крокусе» в упор расстреливают людей!" И показывает мне видео. "Кто? Террористы?" Даже стало немного спокойнее, что "просто" террористическая атака и в упор расстреливают людей в Москве не государственные структуры и не вражеская армия. Ну и тут уже удалось попросить с девушкой друг друга быть осторожными и попрощаться. Сейчас я погружусь в это. Опять происходит что-то страшное, о чем будут статьи, конспирологические теории, памятная табличка, репортажи, слёзы. Тут страшно жить. И в мире вообще, и в России. Надо было слушать, конечно, когда американская разведка говорила быть осторожными. Мы всё ещё живём в той стране, где ФСБ взрывала дома, и у нас война у порога.
