SHE CAN’T entirely help the way she’s staring at him. she’d already been out in this part of the property alone, avoiding the mass of bodies near the house, when he had arrived and started... practicing? but what he was doing was nothing short of miraculous. she’s seen lots of gifts so far in her short life, but this one... this one is easily the most incredible. it looks so--- NATURAL on him. like he sprung directly out of the very earth he’s now controlling. 

       ❝ how are you doing that? ❞ she can’t help herself but ask, stepping out of           her hiding spot.

WITH THE massive influx of vampires into this house, it’s all set bree terribly on edge. she’s so far managed to avoid every single one of them, despite them filling up almost every single room of the house. generally, she hides herself away in the attic, finding it the most reclusive, easier to shut out all the smells and noise. but on the last step, she freezes. her teeth bare despite herself at the knowledge that SOMEONE ELSE is in her space. she just manages to quell the territorial urge as she opens the door to see an entirely NEW vampire taking up space in the attic. she clocks his red eyes first, then the ragged appearance of the rest of him. 

       ❝ find somewhere else, ❞ she manages to get out, the words coming out           sharp despite the little jagged end of fear at the end.

THEY DON’T trust her. she doesn’t particularly trust them either. but they’re the better option than death aren’t they? ...maybe. she doesn’t know if, now that she’s vampire, she goes anywhere if she dies. but if she did, she hopes she’d get to see diego there. but it’s that fear of not knowing that keeps her here, in this... HOME. with these people that call themselves a family in a way that her life with riley’s gang never was.
