“My parents want to have dinner with us this week?”
They were cuddled together in bed on a Wednesday night, and Shawn was tired from the studio work he’d been doing early in the week.
“Sounds nice,” Y/N replied groggily, “Haven’t seen them in a while.”
Shawn nodded before yawning, “Just been so busy.” His voice was quiet and heavy with sleep.
She nodded against his shoulder before she kissed it lightly. She started drawing small patterns on Shawn’s stomach, liking the way his stomach rose and fell with his breathing. They were quiet for a while, and Y/N was sure he must have gone to sleep, his breathing having evened out slightly.
“If my mom mentions an engagement,” Shawn said softly after a while, “just, don’t get upset, okay?”
Her fingers stilled against his chest, going completely flat over his heart, “Why would she ask about that?”
Shawn sighed, turning slightly so that he could see Y/N’s face. “Well, you know Karen,” he said using his mother’s first name. “She’s a little traditional in some respects, and she’s just, uh,” Shawn stammered for a moment, unsure of his words.
“Shawn,” she wandered, “What’s going on?”
“We’ve been together for almost three years, and living together for a year a half, and I think she’s just getting tired of waiting around for it to happen.” Shawn let out a breath, slightly blowing over top her head.
“Did she actually mention this, or are you just assuming?” Y/N tilted her head up slightly to look at Shawn’s as they lie side by side.
“Not exactly, but she hinted strongly, you know how mothers do.”
Y/N was silent for a while. The truth was, she had to agree with Karen. It’s not that she had expected Shawn to propose quickly or anything, not at all. Especially not with the life he lived. He had to be cautious with who he let in, but the question of whether or not to let her into his life had long since passed. She’d squeezed her way into every aspect of Shawn’s life. He wrote songs about her, brought her on tour often, talked about her in interviews. She’d met his family years ago and was a regular in his friend group at this point. She was sure after moving in together that it would be the next step, but they’d been living together for a year and a half and there hadn’t been any progress in that area. And she wasn’t exactly upset with Shawn about this. She loved Shawn and enjoyed the life they spent with each other. But Karen’s expectation for them to get married wasn’t entirely far fetched.
“Well,” she finally spoke, “I won’t get upset.”
Shawn nodded before leaning down and kissing her lips lightly, whispered his love to her in the quiet of the night. They fell asleep not to long after, both completely bone tired from a hard days work.
___
Friday came around, and the dinner with Karen and Manny was set to start in thirty minutes. Y/N was still struggling to find the right outfit, something cute and dressy but not too cute or too dressy.
“Which one?” She asked Shawn, coming out of the closet holding up two vastly different ensembles.
Shawn, not looking up from his phone where he was typing furiously, “Either is great, babe.”
Y/N rolled her eyes, “You didn’t even look, Shawn.”
Shawn, reluctantly pulling his eyes away from his phone, looked at the two options before saying, “Left,” and then returning to his phone.
“You sure that’s not too...sexy?”
Shawn huffed, “Y/N, I don’t care. My parents aren't going to care. They love you, just pick one.”
She turned, frustrated with Shawn’s lack of help, and returned to the closet, eventually choosing a completely different outfit all together. Ten minutes later she emerged from the closet, ready to go. She grabbed her clutch from the bedside table and asked Shawn if he was ready.
“Mhmm,” Shawn mumbled, standing up robotically as he followed her out of the condo on autopilot, reaching the car in no time.
The drive to the Mendes household was quick and quiet, as Y/N stared out the window, watching as they slowly left their familiar surroundings of downtown Toronto and headed towards the land of suburbia, Pickering.
“Andrew wants me in the studio all day tomorrow,” Shawn said as they hit the halfway mark between Toronto and Pickering.
Her eyes left the window and snapped to Shawn, shocked. “What? It’s Saturday Shawn, and you’ve been there all week!”
Shawn sighed, tapping the steering wheel, “I know. But recording is almost done, and he doesn’t want to have to have to book another week.”
Y/N looked down at her lap, flicking at her chipped nail polish. “I thought, maybe we could do something together tomorrow though…”
Shawn glanced over apologetically, “I know, I know… Saturdays are usually our day together, but I’m sorry. You know what Andrew wants, he gets.”
“It’s not just Saturday, Shawn…” She trailed over quietly.
“There’s nothing I can do. It’s out of my hands, I just wanted to let you know.” Shawn responded, frustration lacing his tone.
Looking back out the window where a light snow had begun to fall, Y/N stayed silent for the rest of the drive trying not to think about the fact that Shawn seems to have completely forgotten their third anniversary.
Once they’d made their arrival, Karen and Manny greeted them warmly, welcoming them into their home and bringing them out of the cold snow.
“How are you doing, baby?” She asked Shawn sweetly as she kissed his temple lightly.
“Good, work has been crazy, just really tired lately.”
She nodded in understanding before pulling Y/N into a hug, “And how you are, darling?”
Y/N hugged her back lightly, nestling her head into her shoulder searching for a sense of comfort, “I’m doing fine,’ she finally responded, pulling back slightly.
Karen eyed her for a moment before replying with a sharp nod, “That’s good.”
Manny got the two of them drinks, and together the four of them wandered into the living area, each finding seats around the room, Y/N sitting next to Shawn, but not touching. Their legs weren’t pressed against each others like they normally would be, and Shawn eyed Y/N for a moment where she was sat. He decided to not say anything, instead turning his attention to his parents.
“How’s Liyah?” He asked.
“Oh you know, just being a teenage girl,” Karen smiled sweetly.
Manny sat up, leaning slightly towards Shawn, “You know she started looking at universities last month.”
Shawn’s eyes widened, “What? No. Already?”
“Well she is almost seventeen, love.” Karen laughed.
“Don’t remind me,” Shawn grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest.
“What schools is she looking at?” Y/N asked, entering the conversation.
“Mostly local stuff, but she is looking at a few in Montreal and BC. And two in the States and one in London.”
Shawn’s jaw dropped, “Why does she even need to look at so many schools?”
Karen laughed, “It’s early in the process honey, she’s just looking at lots of options. She’ll narrow it down when it gets closer.”
“Li is so smart,” Y/N whispered, almost as though she were talking to herself, “She could do anything.”
Karen smiled softly at the young girl, “She is a bright one. We got very lucky with our two.” She directed her smile at Shawn, who was probably already blushing. Y/N didn’t know though because she was only looking at her lap, thinking about how lucky she thought she was for having someone like Shawn. Wondering where they went wrong and lost communication.
At dinner, Manny and Shawn carried most of the conversation, with Karen and Y/N only piping in for a few one liners here and there. But Y/N was content in her quiet place. Retreating to the back of her mind, that’s where she liked to be anyway. It was the place where people couldn’t hurt her, she could really only hurt herself.
“So, Y/N,” Karen asked later in the evening. Their plates almost empty and they were finishing their second glass of wine. “Are there any big plans coming up for you?”
She watched Karen for a moment, not entirely sure what she meant. “No,” she answered, “Just the usual at work. We’ve got a pretty big case right now that we’re working on, trying to find a good stable home for one particular kid who’s been in and out of homes for a while.”
Karen hummed sadly, “That must be hard, seeing so many kids living rough childhoods.”
She nodded, “It is, but we’re there to help and to try and connect as many kids as we can with stable, loving homes.”
“Do you ever think about having kids of your own one day?” Karen asked innocently.
“Mom--” Shawn warned, stepping in immediately.
“What?” She raised her hands, looking at Shawn. “It’s a simple question, with absolutely no relation to you, unless you’ve changed your name.”
Shawn rolled his eyes, looking at his girlfriend, “You do not have to answer her if you feel uncomfortable.”
Y/N turned to Shawn, “Why would that make me uncomfortable?” She rolled her eyes at Shawn’s childish behavior before returning her gaze to Karen. “I’d love to have children eventually. But I don’t see it happening any time soon.”
“Well some things take…” Karen paused for a moment, glancing at Shawn, “Time.”
Shawn leaned back in his chair, groaning. “Mom, please you said you wouldn’t do this.”
“I have no idea what you’re talking about Shawn.” She took a sip of her wine.
“Shawn, it’s fine.” Y/N said, lightly placing her hand on his bicep.
“Is it such a crime to wonder whether or not my own son plans on ever getting married?” Karen directed the question to Manny, who wisely stayed completely silent on the manner.
“Mom!” Shawn shouted, frustrated. “We have talked about this so many times, why do you always have to bring it up. Just stop! Y/N doesn’t want to talk about it. I don’t want to talk about it. You don’t need to ruin the evening with this conversation every goddamn time we come over!” Shawn huffed, running a hand through his hair.
Y/N coughed uncomfortably, saying quietly, “Well, I’m perfectly fine discussing it.”
Shawn’s pupils flared, studying his girlfriend for a moment, not entirely sure why she was being so difficult right now. Shawn just wanted this conversation to move forward, but it seemed that everyone in the room was working against him. “What do you mean?” He criticized.
“I’m just saying,” she breathed out, “that it’s not an entirely unfair question ask.”
Shawn grinded his teeth. “You want to talk about this here, right now, in front of my parents?”
“That’s not what I’m saying,” she explained. “I’m just saying your mom is right to wonder when you might want to get married considering you’ve been dating your girlfriend for three years. Or did you forget that it’s been three years?”
If there ever was someone who resembled one of those cartoon characters with steam coming out of their eyes and their face burning red, it was Shawn right now. Y/N had never seen Shawn quite so livid, but frankly she didn’t really care.
“So what? You wanna get married?” Shawn snarled. “We can get married.”
Y/N rolled her eyes and didn’t bother responding.
“No,” Shawn said, completely on edge now. “You want to talk about this? Let’s fucking talk, Y/N! You want to be a goddamn brat and demand that we discuss this in front of my parents, then let’s do it.You want kids too, I know you do. So how many? Do you already have their names picked out?”
“Shawn, that’s enough.” Karen said, finally stepping in.
“It’s fine, Karen.” Y/N whispered, defending herself, but still not responding to her boyfriend.
“No, it’s not,” Karen reprimanded, looking towards her son. “We never taught you to speak to women like that.”
“Give it a rest, mom.” Shawn said, standing up from his chair, pointing his finger at her defensively. “You started this in the first place. I told you not to bring this shit up, and you did it anyway.”
“Shawn,” Karen warned, equally as defensive as his son. She was ready to make any war he waged.
“Karen, really,” Y/N said trying to defuse the tense situation, “It’s fine. It’s very clear that Shawn doesn’t want to discuss marriage or anything of the like. I’m sure it has nothing to do with you. It has to do with me.”
“No, no. That’s not it.” Karen said in a calm motherly tone, trying to reassure the younger woman of her worth.
“Maybe that is is.” Shawn whispered, refusing to meet Y/N’s gaze.
Karen’s eyes snapped to Shawn, filled with anger. Manny’s weary gaze watched as Y/N’s eyes welled up lightly, she coughed trying to cover her hurt.
“I am not ready to get married, why is that so unacceptable?” Shawn wondered.
“It’s not,” Karen said in a stern, but calm voice. “What’s unacceptable is your current behavior and the way you’re speaking to your girlfriend, whom you’re supposed to love. If you’re not ready to get married, that’s perfectly alright. You’re both young. You have a lot going on in your careers. But if you’re unable to speak to your girlfriend in a calm, not demeaning manner then I believe I’ve completely failed you as a mother. You should never feel comfortable speaking to Y/N like that under any circumstances.”
Shawn looked down at his feet, shuffling uncomfortably. It had been a long while since he’d had a disappointed mother speech, but he’d recognize the tone in her voice anywhere. It was the kind of speech that tore your gut apart from the inside out with worry because you’d managed to disappoint your mother. There were very few feelings worse than this one.
“You need to apologize to her.” Karen spoke again.
“Mom,” Shawn moaned, “I’m not a five years old anymore.”
Karen’s eyes widened, “Could have fooled me.”
Shawn’s shoulders hunched over in embarrassment, finally looking at Y/N. He held his hand out to her, ignoring the sinking feeling in his gut when he finally saw that she’d been crying. “Can we talk?”
Y/N took his hand, following him down the hall and into his childhood bedroom. Shawn closed the door behind them, leaning against the door. Their hands, still lightly clasped together, hung loosely between the two of them.
“I’m sorry!” Shawn whispered.
“Saturday’s our three year anniversary,” Y/N rushed at the same time Shawn spoke.
“Wait what?” Shawn asked, eyes wide in shock.
Y/N’s lip wavered, knowing Shawn really had forgotten. “Our three year, it’s tomorrow. And you didn’t even remember.”
“No, it can’t be it’s not even…” Shawn trailed off, thinking back on what month it was and how far they were into the month before he let out a, “Fuck.” He hit his head back on the door. “I’m so fucking sorry, Y/N.”
Y/N tugged on his hand, turning to face him on the door. “I don’t care that you don’t want to get married. Or that you don’t want to get married right now. Or have children or whatever. We haven’t talked a whole lot about those things, and I’m perfectly fine with that. But when you didn’t remember our anniversary, it killed me a little bit inside. Shawn, I know that one day I want to marry you. I know that one day I want to have your kids. I want to spend the rest of my life with you. You are the only person for me. There’s no question in my mind. I don’t care when those things happen. They could happen tomorrow or in thirty years. I just know that there’s not a single day I want to live without you. And you forgetting something like that, really makes me question if you like that towards me or if I’m just a familiar comfort for you.”
Shawn reached out, cupping her cheek. “No, no please don’t say those things. They’re not true. I could never ask for anyone greater than you. There is no one more perfect for me than you. There’s no one else I think about, no one else I’d rather be with. It’s only you. And it’s always going to be you. You’re absolutely the person I see by my side at every major event in my life down the road.” Shawn rested his forehead against hers. “This is a fucking weak excuse, but it’s all I have. Work has been insane, and I should have put more priority on your and our relationship, but I didn’t. And for that I’m sorry. I am sorry for forgetting something so important. There isn’t an excuse that makes up for that. And I’m still going to have to go to work tomorrow, but I swear to god, I will make it up to you. Please  forgive me. For everything. For what I said to you like a fucking idiot, and for the way I’ve treated you over the past few weeks.”
Y/N pressed her lips against Shawn’s, savoring the taste of wine on his lips. “I forgive you,” she said as she pulled away. “And I love your parents, but can we go home now because I really don’t want to have to deal with aftermath of that situation we just created.”
Shawn nodded, chuckling lightly. “I second that. I don’t think my mom has ever been more disappointed in me before. Not even when I broke up with my first girlfriend over text message.”
Y/N cringed, “Shawn.”
“I know, it was bad.” He laughed lightly again. “I love you.” He said through a trail of kisses on her jaw.
“I love you too,” she whispered. “But the apology isn’t going to come quite as easily next time if you talk to me like that again.”
“Noted. Now let’s go home.”

[A/N: efhskbebobdvk thank youuuu, and sorry it’s so long! I was really inspired!!]
Soulmate AU
You had been traveling between villages for a few weeks selling merchandise and the likes, but today was going to be a relax day. You had been taking your time to walk the farmer’s market admiring all the different jewelry and large vegetables, and stop occasionally to look over precious stones.
You weren’t sure why you chose to come today, but you paid no mind and tried to enjoy nonetheless. However…there was a strange inkling that wouldn’t leave you alone and you occupied yourself in merchandise that wasn’t even interesting to you, but for some reason you felt you needed to stay.
When you came to a vendor, their spread was out of place from the others. This one had shrunken heads, bird skeletons in cages, and different pots filled with different ingredients. The smell was overpowering, but for some reason you decided to look within the stall.
Further into their makeshift tent, books lined the walls on rickety shelves. You ran your fingers over the spines of the books noticing none of them had any titles. You found it odd how some look brand new while others looked worn and well read.  Not a one matched, but some had similar spine decor.
You were about to walk to another shelf when one book caught your eye. It was a deep navy blue, with a red and white spine. You traced over the intricate impressions in the cover and mused to yourself that the material felt soft as feathers. Gently picking it up you looked it over and like all the other books it did not have titled, nor an author. When you opened it, your confusion only increased as you flipped through all the pages. There was not a single word nor picture in it.
Strange, you thought, and went to pick up another book only to find you couldn’t. You set the book you were holding down and used both hands on the other to take it off the shelf. It would not budge for the life of you, it was like it was glued to the spot.
“You can try all you want, but you are not the owner of that book.”
You spun around from the sudden grainy voice, and the shopkeeper was hunched over at the entrance. They gave you a wrinkly smile as their hand shook to hold up one finger. They pointed to the book behind you, “That is your book.”
You raised a brow before looking between them and the object, “…And why is that?”
They hobbled in using their cane and walked by you all the while speaking, “Do you plan to take responsibility of each and every book?”
 “Well…no.”
“Then you do not need to know anything more than that.” They ran their crooked fingers over the blue book. “Why did you come here today, young one?”
You were taken back, not sure where this was leading, “I had the day off, I suppose.”
 “You do not sound sure.”
“Erm…I am not sure what I would need to be certain of.”
They gave a slow smile, their jaw jittering along with their body. “Take the book.”
“Wha-, well, I don’t know if I want it. It’s just a journal.”
 “Is it now?”
Their question fluttered around your head like a bird in a cage, and it left a deep curiosity that began to slowly burn. You weren’t even aware, but you had picked up the book, running your fingers against the soft cover. Gazing upon this hardcover it gave you a familiar feeling, and you looked up, “How much will it b-”
The old person was not there and the makeshift tent you were in was gone.
You looked around with wide eyes to realize you were in the middle of the farmer’s market still. Taking a step back, the shop you once were in, now you stood on a patch of dirt. You held the book closely to your chest and you decided that you were done looking around for the day.
Finally home and in your bed, you were reading a book under the lantern’s light, but you weren’t able to keep focus. Your eyes would wander to the journal on your nightstand, its existence proving to be loud and obnoxious. You sighed and leaned over to grab it to pull it back in your lap. As you flipped through the pages again you were scolding yourself that there was nothing there. You ran your hand along your head in frustration, and left it open at a blank page.
“What’s so special about you?” But the book did not answer your heated question. You leaned back against your headboard feeling like giving up, and blankly stared at the page of the book. You ran your finger along it as if reading a sentence, but you began to squint your eyes.
Was there….something forming on the page?
Upon closer inspection, an image slowly bled its way in. An image emerged overlooking mountains high in the night sky while clouds slowly made their way across the horizon and leaves rustled from the winds. You were in awe and amazed from the slow motion image, and you rubbed your eyes thinking you were seeing things.
 But you weren’t.
Though you were terrified of this strange phenomenon, each night you open the book to find it had new paintings of different scenery and sometimes people. You gather that whoever this was, is a Rito given one photo had their arm stretched out with a large bow held by their wings. It was like a drug you couldn’t wean yourself off of and you anxiously await the night to fall asleep to these images.
The Rito was apparently close to the Princess as there was one image of her with a young blond man kneeling in front of her. You gathered that these images were memories, and whether they were current or from the past, you could not decipher. You were becoming fond of whoever this Rito was and adored they images from their point of view in the sky.
One night while admiring the old paintings something new happened. A new image bled onto the page, this time of the Rito’s wings held in front of them as if they had committed a heinous act. Their hands shook and looked pain..
 ‘I feel so alone.’
It read underneath the painting causing a sharp pain to shoot through your body. You ran your fingers along the image as if they could feel your comfort. “What’s wrong..?” You whispered and your heart felt heavy as the book did not reply…
 ‘They doubt me.’
‘Why him? Am I not good enough?’
‘I have worked so hard. I do not understand.’
 ‘I am afraid…’
Each night new paintings appeared with a text underneath, and they grew more desperate. Their images were becoming distorted and began to come in like melting strip of film. The more the weeks dragged on it spurred you to try to connect to this Rito that was a complete stranger. You whispered encouragements you knew they could not hear and brought the book with you everywhere as if it was a way for them not to be alone.
You were sitting on a rock somewhere in the Great Plateau flipping through the pages again. It was like watching a timeline of a sound person slowly coming undone. Some days this Rito would have wonderful and beautiful days, and others…they were wallowing in self hate. You sighed coming to an empty page, “I wish I could help you….”
As if the book heard you plea a new painting came and what you saw made your jaw drop. It was you, clearly blurry and more of your lap than anything, but it was your clothes being swept in the gentle wind.  Beneath it, words appeared..
‘Who is this? Why is this person in this book?’
Frantically, you scrabbled about looking for your travel sack and rummage through to find a quill. However, before you could attempt to write a reply in a silly hope they would receive it, a new image appeared, but this time of your hands holding the book.
‘Their book almost looks similar to my own.’
And you gasped, feeling excitement course through your veins. You stood up holding the book out in front of you, “Yes! Yes! It’s because they’re connected! Oh please! Tell me you can hear me?! Sense me?! Something?!” But there was no reply, however, it spurred a intense feeling of determination. They had a book that was in connection to this one, and you knew that somehow they would be able to see your memories.
With a burst of energy, you bound for the Rito village across the land and you hoped that they could see what you see. Maybe they would realize you were on your way and your heart rammed in your chest from fear and excitement. You had no idea what these books meant to either of you, but somehow you know it was the fate of the Goddess that you two should meet.
When night fell, you sat by your small campfire for warmth and held the book in your lap while patiently waiting for a new image. It seemed like hours before a new painting emerge and this time it was them soaring in the nighttime sky. You held your hand to your mouth in astonishment at the words appearing before you.
 ‘Are you still waiting?’
“Yes!” You said in excitement, beaming at this wondrous phenomenon. You could only wonder what images along with words appeared for them and you looked up to the sky in great anticipation. “Oh please, oh please. I’ve been waiting so long.” You whispered to the sky and bounce from your spot on the ground. It was exhilarating, it was magical, nothing in this world could top this! You could hardly sit still and stood up to turn in a circle looking at the sky. You closed your eyes and pressed the book tightly to your chest. “I don’t know how this works, but please come soon.”
An hour or so passed and you were still wide awake. Nothing new appeared in the book and you were becoming impatient. Slowly, and surely, you heard loud flaps in the distance and right as you turned around a gush of wind blew harshly causing you to shut your eyes from the flying dirt. As you blinked away, your vision gazed at the feet of a Rito and followed it up to their face. For a Rito, he looked quite handsome and within his wing was a book with your colors but matching spine decor.
He looked a little smug as he looked you over and quirked a feather brow up. He noticed the book in your hands and held his up, “Seems we might become reading partners. Shall we open a book club?”
You snorted and shook your head at his jest, but the excitement bubbling within you was about to burst. “Strange book club with only two members.” You took a step closer and tried to ignore the awe you felt at his height.
His beak quirked in a smile as he too took a step closer, “Well, they do say three’s a crowd.”
“I’ve been anxiously waiting to meet you.” You spoke in a hush voice, finding the air within you disappearing, but it was not unpleasant. He gave another cocky smile and pulled up a page from his book, it was of your point of view looking up to the sky with the captions underneath, ‘I’ve been waiting so long.’
You could feel your cheeks burn and gave a sheepish laugh.
“I am Revali.” He spoke surely, but gently.
“I…” You laughed and smiled, “I’m [Name]…” You placed your hand on top of his book and he looked at you curiously as your eyes glimmered with your deeper emotions, “And I will make sure you never feel alone again.”

Imagine: You and Harry go to a bar and you get drunk and sing karaoke
The weekend was finally here, and you were ready to let loose. You had just started a new job and were overwhelmed with the amount of work they put on you first thing. On top of that, Harry was busy with meetings and events so you were both stressed out and a bit snippy with each other the whole week. You were so ready to just go out and have a fun Friday night and destress.
Niall was in town for the weekend and suggested you and Harry join him and a few other of their friends to go to a karaoke bar tonight. It was super low-key and Harry had been there before so nobody was really worried about them being recognized. Especially on a Friday night when everyone there was likely going to be drunk. You usually weren’t one for going out and drinking, but today, you were craving it. And you were excited to spend fun time with Harry, finally. You both had gotten into a routine of not seeing each other all day while you were working and then just eating dinner and maybe watching a movie together before going to sleep in the evenings. Of course you both loved each other so much, but all the work and stress was getting to you both and you knew you just needed to get out.
“Hot damn, little miss,” Harry commented as he looked up and down at you as you both were finishing getting ready to go out together. You had on tight leather pants and a halter top, your hair messy in a sexy-looking way, and your makeup was bold. Smokey eyes and a dark lip were the way to go tonight, you’d decided.
You smirked at Harry as he slapped your ass. “Um, excuse me sir, that is rude,” you joked, walking past him to grab your bag.
“How am I supposed to keep myself off of you all night, hmm? I’d take you right here right now if we didn’t have to leave.” Harry’s face told you he was being completely serious.
You smiled, satisfied at receiving this reaction to tonight’s look from your boyfriend. “Well you don’t have to be completely off of me tonight,” you told him as you snaked your arms up around his neck, and Harry let out a quiet hiss.
You were interrupted when you heard honking coming from the driveway, signaling it was time to go.
“Damn,” Harry muttered as he readjusted himself. One more slap to your ass and then you both were out the door.
--
You weren’t planning on getting that drunk tonight. Obviously you wanted a drink or two but next thing you knew you had just downed three shots in a row.
“Think you might want to slow down there, love? Don’t want you passing out 10 o’clock on a Friday night,” Harry joked, but he was also looking at you with his eyebrows raised, telling you that he wasn't totally kidding.
“M’fine, babyyy,” you assured him before you and the other boys took another shot. Harry had had a few shots already too, but his tolerance was much higher than yours and he felt only slightly tipsy, whereas you were full-on drunk now.
“Alright, babe, let’s drink some water now, though, let’s change it up,” Harry smiled at you as he pushed the glass of water towards you.
But you weren’t feeling it. It was Friday night, you were drunk, and you were ready to party.
“Harry! I’m gonna go do karaoke!” You decided as you went to stand up, not realizing how drunk you really were until you were on your feet now. Harry had to grab your waist to keep you from swaying, and his brows were furrowed as he looked at you.
“Love, I really don’t think that’s a good idea. You can barely stand up as it is.”
“Mm, no Harry. I can stand up now I just couldn’t at first when I first stood up, but m’fine now,” you slurred as you turned to start walking toward the stage.
Harry knew that there was no changing your mind once you had made it up, and combined with the alcohol now running through your veins, there was no stopping you. So Harry followed you, his hand on your waist, as you made your way towards the stage.
“Would you like me to join you?” Harry laughed before you jumped up on the small platform. He really was concerned you wouldn’t be able to stay standing on your own for the duration of a whole song.
“Nope babes, this ones for you, mister,” you told him as you poked his nose. Harry couldn’t help but smile as he helped you step up onto the stage, making sure to stand as close to the front as he could so he’d be there if you needed him. He turned around when he felt a hand on his shoulder and heard hollering behind him, seeing that Niall and the rest of their friends were joining him up front to watch your performance.
“Y/N gonna put on a show?” Niall laughed, himself fairly drunk.
“Looks like it, I just hope she doesn’t fall down,” Harry responded as the first notes of a too-familiar song began to play.
“Oh Jesus,” Harry murmured.
“Not this shit!” Niall yelled, laughing hysterically, as you started singing.
You’re insecure, don’t know what for
You’re turning heads when you walk through the do-o-or
Don’t need makeup, to cover up
Being the way that you are is eno-o-ough.
Harry couldn’t keep himself from laughing as he watched you point out to everyone in the bar as you sang, a proper popstar move. And by the time you got to the chorus, everyone in the bar was singing along. And Harry felt his heart melt as he watched you do some of the moves he would do when singing this song back after the boys had just started performing the song, jumping around and moving your arms around like he used to do.
You actually weren’t half bad at the singing part, too. The words may have been a little bit slurred and you started to sing the chorus instead of the next verse once, but your voice itself actually sounded quite nice. And Harry felt so much love for you as you finished the song, jumping down to him and the rest of the boys who were all whistling and giving you a high-fives.
“You are something else,” Harry laughed as you fell into his arms, exhausted from your little gig. “That was pretty great, actually,” Harry told you sincerely as he put his lips on the top of your head.
“Mm so drunk, Harold,” he heard you mumble into his shirt.
Harry laughed before moving to wrap his arm around your waist to keep you steady, his hand resting firmly on your hip, as you wrapped an arm around his torso and rested your head below his shoulder.
“Let’s get my popstar home. Too much vodka for the baby,” Harry smiled as he helped you walk outside and down the street to where a car was waiting to pick you both up.
“Hey, m’not a baby, youuuu are,” you responded, barely coherent anymore.
“No but you’re my baby,” Harry laughed. “And I love you so much, little one. Let’s get you home and in bed.”
You nodded your head before pulling away from Harry as he looked at you questioningly, only for you to turn away and vomit all over the sidewalk. Harry held your hair back until you finally finished, turning around looking slightly embarrassed. Harry looked somewhat concerned but there was also a hint of amusement playing on his face.
“Sorry baby,” you mumbled, feeling like a pathetic child but also still drunk enough to not really care.
“S’okay baby, I’ve got you,” Harry reassured you as he picked you up into his arms, only after checking your face to make sure you wouldn’t hurl all over him, as he carried you to the car.
“I love you Harry,” you told him as he gently laid you down on the backseat before getting in behind you so you could rest your head on his lap.
“I love you more, baby,” he told you, stroking your cheek.
“Nooooo.” You drew out the word, making Harry laugh, and that was the last thing you heard before you were passed out in the backseat of the car.
Harry smiled down at you, feeling so much love for his beautiful and extremely drunk girlfriend.
