                       SASUKE  WASN’T WRONG  ...  &  it  was  something  that  stung  a  place  deep  down  inside  of  him.  memories  of  himself  ,  alone.  the  villagers  he  wanted  so  DESPRITLY  to  become  friends  with  ,  laughing  &  pushing  him  away  to  the  point  where  he  wished  they’d  all  VANISH.  it  hurt  him  ,  SCARRED  him  to  the  point  where  his  childhood  had  been  completely  broken  in  his  eyes  ---  he’d  always  claimed  it  never  bothered  him  ,  but  it  had  just  been  naruto  trying  again  &  again  to  convince  himself  that  he  wasn’t  HATED.

                  ❛    that’s  true  ...    ❜   it’s  all  he  could  say  at  first  ,  heart  heavy  with  his  own  inner  turmoil.  he  chews  the  skin  of  his  lip  for  a  moment  ,  ocean  orbs  scanning  the  ground  as  he  searches  for  more  to  say.    ❛    but  --  if  we  can  make  them  sad  ,  can’t  we  also  make  them  HAPPY  too  ...  ?    ❜

it’s  a  simple  answer  ,  but  the  way  naruto  finally  glances  at  his  friend  ;  he  hopes  it  rings  home  somewhere.  humans  have  the  power  of  communication  ,  &  words  as  your  greatest  weapon  ,  naruto  had  always  tried  to  use  that  power  to  lift  others  up.

@firestcrm​ ASKED:   There must be a well of endless optimism inside of Naruto. He never seems to remain on the negatives for long, turning them on over to create a positive out of it. It’s frustrating at how simplistic his answers are but how full belief he is. Sasuke shakes his head. “You can’t make everyone happy. In making certain people happy, you’ll upset others. It’s always going to be that way.”

                    ❛    ....    ❜   HE  ISN’T  SURE  WHAT  TO  SAY  ,  sasuke  would  just  refute  it  --  &  naruto  found  that  extremely  frustrating  ...  because  he  was  RIGHT  once  again.  the  blond  shifts  in  his  stance  ,  eyes  shifting  about  as  he  once  again  tries  to  dip  his  hands  deep  into  his  pool  of  positivity  only  to  come  up  empty  handed.  a  voice  deep  down  tells  him  to  try  again  ,  to  dig  his  hands  deeper  --  to  grab  at  the  impossible.

❛    you  can’t  ..  &  maybe  it’s  because  there  are  some  people  out  there  that  don’t  WANT  to  be  happy  --  or  they’re  stopping  themselves  by  not  letting  others  in  or  OPENING  their  eyes  to  change  ,  y’know  ?    ❜  he  gives  the  other  a  look  that’s  softer  then  before  ,  he  wants  to  reach  out  to  his  friend  --  thinking  that  perhaps  in  some  way  ,  sasuke  was  talking  about  HIMSELF.
