hi phighting hot takes account. i do not think the phighting fandom wants to hear this but i dont think people (even soda) want to accept that subspace is a victim and was brainwashed into it just as medkit is a victim. they also dont want to hear that medkit is just as violent and did just as horrible things as subspace, and going “but medkit deserves better b-because he changed!” is completely ignoring the tragedy of subspace’s character. it’s also really weird how people don’t realize subspace is also disabled too and don’t really care to write him as such

this ain’t excusing subspaces actions but come on dude

Now that you mention it, yeah, it should definitely be acknowledged that Subspace IS a victim of Blackrock’s whatever-horrid-things-they’re-doing-up-there.

With that brought up, though, I do think that Subspace being both a victim and part of the problem is an interesting part of his character that I think they should explore someday. A very interesting thing that I don’t see touched on often.

Phighting ship names are bland and uncreative.

Y’all could’ve made ships like Banhammer x Scythe something cool like CriminalJustice or whatever, but no. ScytheHammer. RAHFHDHDHJFJFJGJ.

Not a hot take, but I dug up this old post I made about who the faction leaders might be, and it appears I predicted the future in regards to DitF.

Been thinking a lot about the Phighting Faction Leaders. Last that I checked, not only was it confirmed that each faction had its own leader, but that the four leaders would be/would be related to Korblox, Redcliff, Overseer, and Darkage. But who rules what faction, exactly?

Well, let’s start with something simple. Darkage is the leader of Thieves’ Den. Not only is the map Darkage Cliffs specifically said to take place in Thieves’ Den, but all the Roblox Darkage gears were made for a made-up group called the Darkage Ninjas, and Thieves’ Den seems pretty strongly tied to Japanese culture.

Next off, another relatively simple pairing for who rules which faction: Korblox rules Blackrock. The Korblox Roblox gears were made for the Korblox, a group of people, (barbarians? Zombies? Or both, I forgor), who live in an icy wasteland, and I’m pretty sure Blackrock has a cold, icy climate and is located in the mountains.

But then that leaves the question of which factions Overseer and Redcliff rule, which seems complicated at first, but can be figured out via the official lore for these made-up Roblox kingdoms and clans that their gears are made for, and based on the Phighting lore.

Redcliff rules Playground. Playground and Blackrock are said to be enemies, and who else are said to be enemies? Korblox and Redcliff. If Korblox rules Blackrock, then Redcliff would have to rule Playground, Blackrock’s main enemy.

And then that leaves Overseer as the ruler of Lost Temple by default, although, with all the teal/green associated with Lost Temple and the weird potential cult activity that lines up pretty well with the Overseers’ weird cryptic nature, Overseer does seem to be a pretty solid fit as the leader of Lost Temple. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if Overseer ends up being directly involved with the cult activity, perhaps even being the leader of whatever cult is going on. But Overseer is probably going to be one of the richest demons alive, that too.

Don’t get so caught up in the drama for the game you love that you forget to play the game in favor of becoming a keyboard warrior.

I dislike the subgenre of Roblox players who are only in certain “retro” , 2008-2014 styled Roblox game fandoms like Phighting, forsaken, regretevator, et all just to shove 300 questionablehcs onto those characters, make them furred and morbidly obese in HC designs, and then only interact with the game to ship 2 completely unrelated characters just because they are the same gender without thinking about the characters actual personalities stories and character depth

I can understand adding headcanons but seriously phighting community do you really need Boombox to be “into younger demons” as a HC that exists ? because yes I’ve seen that , gross . And making characters morbidly obese for no reason… that just feels a little questionable . I get wanting to add more body diversity but not every character needs to be 350 kg , that makes it feel more like a fetish to me

As for shipping I have the same opinion as headcanons . Shipping in itself is fine , it’s always a super popular part of every fandom but JUST shipping 2 characters because they make an LGBTQ+ ship without taking in the characters personalities and story really just tells the creator of that content that you don’t care about the writing , but just about making rhe characters fit the narrative that YOU want

tldr please value the story of the media you like

i know it's been a few days since the subspace rewrite and im late but i want to talk about it anyways.

they detwinkified subspace for no reason T-T. i understand soda wanted to emphasize that he is an evil horrible little man but like. cmon.

its not even that they just made him less flamboyant they made him BORING (taking away his flamboyance as-is makes him more boring but it's more than that). take this banhammer dialogue for example.

Ban Hammer: "Careful where you throw those crystals! You could seriously hurt someone!"

Subspace: "Oh please, your stupidity is far more dangerous than anything I'll be able to invent."

this is completely untinteresting and boring. the dialogue where he sucked up to banhammer was so much better and much more interesting.

and??? like??? even with him just being more "serious" doesnt mean that he wouldnt still suck up to someone more powerful than him. he's not "more serious" hes just boring and bland.

his flamboyance and stuff also in a way kind of made him seem more insane and even threatening. like everything's just a fun experiment to him, and he might try any random insane thing just to see what happens. now he's just evil with no real insanity. the current subspace ripped out medkit's eye out of anger. the old one did it to see what would happen.

anyways sorry for yapping im just annoyed. (mods u can add ur comments even tho u said u wouldnt do that as often for the long ones, i wanna see ur thoughts ^-^)

They should add his silliness back. I’d say the rewrite fixed him being overly friendly, but definitely took away some of his interesting parts.

Also they took his double exclamation marks from us. Never forget what we lost.
