                   he is sitting on the edge of their bed when he says this,       &&   immediately she walks towards him   &&   FALLS   ON   HER   KNEES   to stare up at him   (   for no one but her beloved would the empress kneel for   )   &&   smiles up at him,       reaches up to cup his face   WITH   ONE   HAND   while the other rests on his knee. 

                   he is good,       TOO   GOOD   to her,        the one person she cared for,        the one person who she didn’t demand loyalty from   ——   who she didn’t demand anything from   (   all she wants from him is to love him   )   ——   even so,       there is no one who she   TRUSTS   MORE   than anakin,       no one who is   MORE   LOYAL   to her than him. 

                         despite all she put him through,                                                    he was   ALWAYS   by her side

                                    whatever   ——   or more accurately   ——   WHOEVER   she had expected to see at her doorstep at ten am on a saturday,        anakin bearing a bouquet of beautiful flowers was certainly not it   (   why was he here   ???          it was obvious that   HE   DIDN’T   CARE   for her,       she was just a fling right   ???   ).                despite the fact that she’s holding her coat   &&   scarf in her hand,      ready to leave,       she reacts   BY   SLAMMING   the door shut in his face.   

                                    yet mere seconds after before he can   WALK   AWAY   she opens the door         though her expression is as harsh as ever as she practically   GLARES   AT   HIM.            “   is this a joke,          skywalker,         are you   MOCKING   ME   ???   “            to her relief she wasn’t crying at the very least   (   she had spent the last weekend   &&   every night that week sobbing over   HER   BROKEN   HEAR  T ——   mayhaps there were no more tears left in her ).

                                     “   why are you even here   ???          do your friends know that you’re   TALKING   to me   ???          or are you bored   &&   you can’t find anyone else to fill your time,       so you thought you’d just   ——    you know what   ???             i don't have   TIME    for this drama.   “ she retorts in A SHAKY voice.

                                     to her   UTTER   HORROR   she tears up,       looking away,         hoping that he wouldn’t know how he reduced her to tears   ——   that she had cried over him at all in the first place   ——   &&   tugs her coat on,        wrapping scarf around.        “   i’m supposed to be volunteering at this homeless shelter   &&   I’M   ALREADY   LATE   AS   IT   IS.   “

                          gently, she   PRESSES   her lips against the corner of his mouth then his forehead.          she is frightened,        even more so than the day than the day she ran away from home,       &&   sat waiting by his doorstep.           she didn’t know what to expect, didn’t know how he would react   ——   &&   EVERYTHING   had changed   (   though whether for better   OR   NOT   ——   she didn’t know   ).

me: padmoo loves that man more than anything, he is her other half, her heart belongs to him and she feels as if he is a part of her. ani loves her for padmoo not for ämidala, he is one of the few she can be her true self too without being afraid, she feels so comfortable with him, she can tell him anything... they have this emotional connection and bond that has been there from the start. though it wasn't romantic by any means from her end, she cared for him. she loves him so much and it had nothing to do with the force, their connection is one out of love not out of the force.
