                      WARDEN EMMET CHALLENGED YOU TO BATTLE!

HISUI VERSE INFODUMP

01. a verse where he either arrived in hisui some months after ingo  –  or alternatively, was present when the rift appeared to take his brother away, saving ingo from being nabbed by it with the price of falling through it himself.

02. he is part of the diamond clan, and officially resides at the settlement. he does wander around a lot, and spends his nights in various places around hisui.

03. he’s the warden of a vespiquen. this vespiquen is extremely protective over him, and he often has little combees following him around wherever he goes. their buzzing sound remind him of something he can’t place, and helps him to fall asleep at night. 

04. his main team consists of togekiss, porygon-z, crobat, gardevoir, gallade and a shiny magnezone. he also has a snorlax and a scizor. 

05. an exceptionally talented battler, of course.

06. spaces out from conversations often. very enthusiastic about battles, though.

07. his unsettling aura has grown slightly more strange. 

08. no intact memories, but often has either nightmares or comforting dreams with flashes of what he’s forgotten. feels immensely guilty for not being able to piece them together.

one of my favorite brain moments in hisui verse is emmet having a crobat, to contrast ingo having a gliscor. look at those expressions. tell me they don’t remind them of each other.

          local warden once again passed out in the middle of a flower field with a swarm of hundreds of combees and some alpha vespiquens buzzing around him gathering pollen.

          local warden napping in the middle of a flower field. he’s having a nice dream for once. that familiar energy is closer now, even if still obscured by shadows. why can’t he remember the face? still, it feels nice to be close to it. he feels safe.

         “  warden ingo is verrrrry cool. and strong!  ”

          completely utterly oblivious.

          funny. seeing others flee from the swarm of the little yellow creatures seems to ring a distant bell somewhere.

many of the diamond clan members are still wary of emmet. after all, he’s a stranger, but since he was inexplicably chosen by their noble lady vespiquen, they sort of have to keep him around. he doesn’t spend much time in the actual settlement, preferring to wander around to find comfortable napping spots while always being accompanied by a swarm of combees.

          local warden now has bee sting poisoning, amnesia and rabies.

          ah. there’s a weird feeling in his chest.

😶 what if you never remember who you were?

           “  i will remember. yup. i know i'm on the right tracks towards it! that figure in my dreams is still slipping away. but i will reach it. i remember the words.  ' we make a good two-car train! '  thinking about that makes my chest hurt verrrry much. that means it’s important. but i know who i am now. i am emmet. i am a–  ”  

           a pause. glazed eyes fixate onto an invisible point as he falls silent. his consciousness threatens to slip, until a little group of combees buzz closer, seemingly waking him back into the moment.  “  i am a diamond clan warden. i will reach my final destination.  ”

"Bloody hell, yer coat-- you get into a fight with an Ursaring? Christ on a bike, mate."

          “  oh. no! it was an alpha zoroark. i was verrrrry unfortunate to wake up in their ice cavern when i first arrived to this station. she nearly ripped my arm off. see, riiiiiight here!  ”  he excitedly pulls up the tattered sleeve of his coat to show a nasty scarring traveling up his elbow.  “  but it’s fine! she was just looking after her little passengers.  ”

Gently drapes his tattered coat over the Warden's shoulders.

          the previously gentle rain falling on the grass just outside the cave has gradually turned into a downpour. of course, emmet should've noticed the signs before deciding to pay a surprise visit to his fellow warden.

          now, is it obvious that he's shaking like a leaf in his wet clothes? maybe, but he makes a stubborn effort to make it less obvious, even as he's slowly huddling closer to the campfire with his arms wrapped tightly around his knees.

           it makes him wonder. has his cold resistance always been this poor? emmet can't tell. those memories are fuzzy at best. 

          the thought slips from his mind when the second coat is gently placed on his shoulders.   something about it feels so familiar.   so much so that it makes his blank gaze fixate onto the fire until his eyes start burning.  “  oh! thank you, warden ingo. i rrrrreally thought i remembered something just now. hmm,  ”  a hasty smile tugs at his lips as he shakes his head.  “  it's probably nothing.  ”

          zoning out. dissociating. the combees keep buzzing around him.

' When warden Melli said a lookalike had taken to his clan and quickly established a warden position of his own, I did not expect it to be so literal. The semblance between us is quite remarkable. Let this be a formal how do you do from one warden to another. '

          the combees make a gentle buzzing sound as they circle around him. even the shyest ones that usually fled at the first sight of a stranger didn’t seem bothered. one of the braver ones lands right on top of emmet's head, immediately snapping him back to the moment  –  he hadn't expected such a bad zone out. his hands are placed on his hips, a wide smile stretching across his tired face.  

          “  oh! yup. he told me something about you as well. actually. it was the first interesting thing warden melli has ever said,  ”  he nods, eagerly holding out his hand.  “  warden emmet! verrrrry nice to meet you, lookalike. maybe we landed on these tracks from the same station,  ”  a chuckle. that would be verrrry silly.  “  do let me know if warden melli is giving you trouble. i wouldn't mind handling him. it would be my pleasure!  ”
