Using the last days of my vacation reading Mu Su Li's Global University Entrance Examination.

It kinda reminds me of Spirealm's premise (which was based on Xī Zǐxù's Kaleidoscope of Death, 死亡萬花筒). The only difference is that there's no explanation (at least, in the beginning) of how they all ended up in the 'examination room' and why they are being 'examined' with their literal lives at stake.

The plot is nail-biting and makes you want to keep reading until you get to the last chapter. Definitely worth it for anybody looking for a danmei recommendation. 😊

I know that the English version of this novel is under Rosmei. However, I'm not sure if they are shipping to Australia so, I'm stuck reading the jjwxc version 😭. If someone knows how I can buy the English novel, much obliged.

花三天慢慢看完这部剧，觉得挺不错看，是我看BＬ剧以来，质量最好的一出！

看了剧让我忍不住去搜原着来补…嗯…讲的点很多也挺宽——不只着眼在ＢＬ上的话——。

是说…照原着角色的感觉来对应改编剧的话…我会觉得：两位主演的角色（就外型而言）是该对调一下——哈哈。

几个配角表现都挺出彩，我更喜欢看赵曦跟林北庭这一对💖看两人桶破窗户纸那天……呵呵。

My Review: Once again a romantic banger by Mu Su Li. This couple is kinda slow burn and don't get together until the endish, but I love the intimacy between them that happens even before they get together. I am also a sucker for characters who go absolutely feral when something happens to their SO, and Wen Shi goes feral quite a few times. "Yeah this is our emotionally stable, most well put-together ancestor!" the absolute lies of this statement, and everyone who could ever dispute it is just indefinitely locked up LOL. On another, non-romance related note: I love the treatment of the dead in this story as people deserving of kindness, care, and dignity. Even when they're being terrifying, eternally-fearless Wen Shi and Xie Wen (these names were a doozy...) interact with them so thoughtfully, as the only reason why they still exist in the world is due to regrets, most of which are reasonable and sympathetic.

I have a few small content warnings that are just for genre-typical horror conventions and the main couple's dynamics. The main couple are a shizun/disciple pair who don't get together until a thousand years after having been separated from each other, with the implication being that the shizun didn't actually develop feelings for his disciple until his disciple was an adult (and also due to spoiler-territory happenings on the part of the then-adult disciple). However, the shizun does raise the disciple from early childhood, which is relevant to their closeness, so if that makes you uncomfortable, this may not be the story for you.

Watched the first episode of The On1y One (live action adaptation of danmei novel 某某 by 木苏里/ Musuli) and feeling very nostalgic for my home town, where the drama is set. Even the school bells sound exactly like the bells from my old school. But OMG the amount of schoolwork these high schoolers have to do... I'm getting bystander trauma just watching it. I'm so glad my family moved abroad before I got sent into that grinder.

Started reading the novel - it's a quick read (finished almost half of it in one day) and pretty fluffy (unlike Musuli's other novels like Global Examination) - but my brain insists on casting this as a difang HS AU. It has a cute shaoye with a bit of an attitude and a 高冷学霸 with a mysterious and traumatic (primarily serious parental neglect so far) past.

I'm not really into high school dramas but will keep watching to support the Taiwan danmei productions in the hopes that they will keep producing more. (Not sure if there is any way for the Taiwan companies to buy the ones already filmed in China like TGCF or SPL, but I can dream!)
