So, Takeru's novel thingie

Okay, just a little thing, because I so far have seen nobody doing this.

We see a bit of Takeru's novels here. The title of the novels is of course taken from the epilogue. "デジタルワールドの冒険", so "Dejitaru Waardo no Bouken", translated into "Digital World Adventure" or "Adventure in the Digital World".

A little interesting difference between the epilogue of 02 (which I still hate, but let's leave it asside) is that in the epilogue Takeru on the book is credited 高石 岳, with his first name written in Kanji. Meanwhile in beyond his name is credited as 高石 タケル with his first name in Katakana. For reference: Adventure Takeru writes his name in Katakana. In 02 he then goes on to write his name in Kanji (which is fairly typical for a Japanese kid learning more Kanji). However in the later stuff - so tri. and so on - if they show his name use Katakana again, which would probably come down to his personal preference. Yamato for example also always writes his name in Katakana, despite his parents most certainly choosing a Kanji form for his name. But for Yamato, as a musician this would not be weird. Maybe indeed Takeru eventually decided to write his name in Katakana to be like his brother?

(Just for reference the difference in how it is written.)

But the other thing I was interested in was what he is actually writing. Now, for context: My Japanese reading skills are shite. It is enough to read the writing on the book cover, but not the whole text - especially as it does not use Furigana.

However, I just so happen to be currently training a neural network to read for work. And I knew someone had made a training package for that NN to read Japanese. So, I fed the NN the Japanese package to see what came out. And yes, it indeed did very well recognizing the japanese signs. And once I had them, it was easier to translate - as well as you can, given that the end of the lines (or I guess colums) are missing.

So, trying my best attempt to translate this with the help of Jisho, a friend, and also feeding two of the lines to DeepL because we could not figure them out came out to this.

“It's okay, you don't need to worry about it from now on [...] The Digimon next to you is [...] [...] is the Digimon behind me. [...] They look completely different, and [...] [...] me and you have partner Digimon. [...] I heard that you can't go back to your family [...] [...] and that you've been going through a tough time. But it's okay now. [...] I'll take you to a place where you can live safely. [...] [...] They'll be here soon. [...] They're really reliable people. [...] They've saved the world from danger many times before [...] I'm not much older than you, but [...] do you know the country of Japan? I'm from there. [...]

Again, the end of lines are missing - and hence also some beginnings of sentences. Given the context of the PV it is fairly likely that this dialogue is Iori speaking. Given that he is from Japan - and probably not that much older than the girl we see in the trailer. I am assuming this is him saving the kid we see in the car with him, Yamato and Taichi. Something that presumably is happening in Russia.

I know, it is not a lot. But it definitely is interesting for a bit of context. :)

Once again also the invitation to join the Digimon Discord Server that mainly exists for the rewatch - but can also be used to discuss Digimon in general. Especially with all the new stuff coming out.

I will post a proper analysis of the PV. I don't have the time for it today.

Ichijouji Ken [ 一乗寺賢 ] | 23-24yo -- Once known as the infamous tyrant Digimon Kaiser in his childhood and later as the brilliant sharp-witted Young Detective Prince in his High School years, Ken is now a rookie detective working at the Tokyo Metropolitan Police investigations team after getting promoted quickly by showing his skills. He is also married to Miyako, and they recently had a child together.

Wormmon [ ワームモン ] -- Ken’s digimon partner; a larva type who looks pretty inoffensive, but holds a strong sense of justice and when evolving into Stingmon it becomes a fierce opponent against crime. But he’s quite panicky when it comes to certain cases…?

Inoue Miyako [ 井ノ上京 ] | 24-25yo -- A very skilled technician and hacker woman who maintains the Chosen Children Network these days. She’s a programming major who prefers freelancer jobs by the will of wanting to help people and being useful, and to be free to do whatever she wants to. If someone is in need, she will gladly help them out. Married to Ken, who once was her enemy but later turned into her ally and then her friend. She and Ken really REALLY are very vocal about loving each other, to the point it makes Daisuke completely mad when they have something important to discuss or do. Recently had a child. She may-may-not do some dirty work for her husband in order to solve the trickiest cases at the police.

Hawkmon [ ホークモン ] -- Miyako’s digimon partner; a bird type who has a different temper than the very energetic and brave Miyako. He works as some sort of walking brake when she’s doing too much risky stuff or overthinking. But he also shares the same desire to help others. Ok, maybe he’s not much different from Miyako, considering he can get fired up sometimes.

Motomiya Daisuke [ 本宮大輔  ] | 23-24yo -- A very straightforward pragmatic Chosen Child who saved the world countless times alongside his friends and seniors; currently living overseas in New York city and running his own ramen shop. His simple way of thinking and solving problems is what makes his friends always look for him in a pinch. He wants everyone to get along, and does not like to see others in trouble… But he also gets in trouble by just trying too hard to stay out of trouble too. Seems like he has been dealing with a big misunderstanding regarding his most recent friend, Ohwada Rui

V-mon [ ブイモン ] -- Daisuke’s digimon partner; a small dragon type who’s pretty much like Daisuke, even able to mimic Daisuke’s gestures like if they were in a complete sync. However, V-mon’s a little more blunt and honest about things in his mind (Daisuke tends to be more abrasive outside, but really friendly deep down) and this makes him a legit food critique when Daisuke needs to make the best ramen in New York. Also shares a strong sense of justice just like Daisuke and the entire 02 team.

Hida Iori [ 火田伊織 ] | 21-22yo -- A Law School student, the youngest of his group of friends but the most stoic of them all. Despite being strict, he gets soft towards Armadimon. He’s very polite and smart, but can and will break the rules if needed. If he’s flustered he tends to slip into casual speech when talking. He works at a law firm as an intern.

Armadimon [ アルマジモン ] -- Iori’s digimon partner; a mammal type who’s more laid-back and always trying to help Iori and his friends when things are not going well. But don’t get fooled, this small digimon is ferocious in battle.

Takaishi Takeru [ 高石タケル ] | 23-24yo -- A literature major who’s currently a freelance writer at a publisher editorial, while he’s working on his personal project -- a book of memories from his childhood and the digimon. He may-may-not be an enabler of his group of friends, but he also has very good investigative skills (possibly inherited from his mom, an investigative reporter) and able to spot lies and anything odd in the big picture. Le likes to wear hats, and spends time at cafe shops to write stuff.

Patamon [ パタモン ] -- Takeru’s digimon partner; a mammal type who’s carefree and sometimes can be a little trollish like Takeru. He likes to try many lattes at cafe shops, and cheers up Takeru whenever the boy is down. Also, Patamon seems to be casually popping in at the wrong time and discovering secrets by sheer accident (or luck?) lately…

Yagami Hikari [ 八神ヒカリ ] | 23-24yo -- A nursery teacher who works at a kindergarten as part of her course’s internship. She’s seen as the sweetest of the group, the nice polite girl who gently takes care of others, but she also is very good at manipulating people and pushing their right buttons to do whatever she wants them to do. She was once Daisuke’s crush, but nowadays he only sees her as an important friend.

Tailmon [ テイルモン ] -- Hikari’s digimon partner; a holy beast type with a more stoic and mature personality compared to Hikari’s friendly and sociable nature. She’s seen as the big sister of the digimon partners just for the fact she’s the only adult level in the middle of five child level digimon. But she also has a very playful side when around Hikari…

Ohwada Rui [ 大和田 ルイ ] | 23yo -- The alleged first Chosen Child who once was saved by Daisuke and his friends while attempting to communicate with his digimon partner’s Digiegg at the top of the Tokyo Tower. He got extremely famous for climbing the Tokyo Tower back in Feb 28 2012, but nowadays not many people remember that incident. At first he hated to be spotted in the crowd and be addressed as the “Tokyo Tower Guy” but now he just takes a weird sense of pride for that act. Suddenly he started avoiding Daisuke and the others out of nowhere, enough to turn him into a potential suspect regarding the current events.

[Birthday: Feb 29, Feb 28 on non-leap years] [Digital World Crest: ???]

Ukkomon [ ウッコモン  ] -- Rui’s digimon partner; an ancient fairy type surrounding in mysteries and rumors about being able to grant wishes. His pettiest fight with Rui had been solved on Rui’s 20th birthday and now they live together in a small apartment. He’s very cheerful and friendly, also has a very cute voice and likes to sing. He also worries a lot about Rui’s wellbeing and tries his best to help the boy out.

This being of absolute goodness is said to bring happiness, and Angemon remains utterly composed in the face of evil, attacking relentlessly until its foe is annihilated. デジモンアドベンチャー :くるみ割り人形の物語は、チャイコフスキーの 1892 年のバレエ『くるみ割り人形』、E.T.A. ホフマンの 1816 年の物語『くるみ割り人形とねずみの王様』、および 1979 年のサンリオのストップモーション アニメ映画『くるみ割り人形』を大まかにベースにしています。

時は1999年お台場東京、街中を歩き回って人々の家をのぞき、就寝時間を過ぎて家に帰ると子供たちをネズミに変える謎の老人、ジャンカリンの物語です。

シュタールバウム家の一人娘クララ(八神ヒカリ演じる)は、明日弟のフリッツ(八神太一演じる)が遊びに来ることに興奮して眠れませんでした。ゲルダおばさん(城戸丈演じる)はジャンカリンの話をして彼女を怖がらせようとするが、クララは大人にな��すぎて信じられないと言う。ドロッセルマイヤーおじさん(石田ヤマト演じる)が到着して彼らを驚かせます。彼はクララにくるみ割り人形を与え、彼女はそれを愛します。彼女はそれを守れるならすぐに寝ると約束します。

クララは真夜中に目を覚ますと、くるみ割り人形がなくなっている。彼女はネズミの群れがくるみ割り人形を階段から運んでいるのを見て、彼らを追って居間に入る。彼女が人形を取り戻すと、ネズミのリーダーで頭が二つあるネズミのマウゼリンクス (ヴァンデモンが演じる) と対峙する。王様はクララにくるみ割り人形を渡すように命じるが、彼女は拒否する。クララが気絶すると、くるみ割り人形が生き返り、ネズミから彼女を守ろうとする。

翌朝、クララは寝室に戻っていた。クララは叔母にネズミと人形がなくなったことを話すが、ゲルダは馬鹿げたことを言っているだけで熱があるのだと主張する。ゲルダ叔母が部屋を出た後、クララは腕の引っかき傷を見て、夢だったのではないかと考える。それからクララはベッドから起き上がり、部屋を出て、リビングルームの階段を見下ろす。錯乱したクララはリビングルームに降りて、おじいさんの時計を見つめる。そして降りて時計を見ると、ドロッセルマイヤーおじさんが「チクタク、ティー…」と何度も言っているのが聞こえる。クララは時計を覗き込み、中に入る。

ドロッセルマイヤーおじさんが中にいるのではないかとクララは考える。それはジャンカリンのようで、ジャンカリンに怯えてしまう。怖がったクララは歩き回り続けるが、ジャンカリンが何度も現れる。クララは怖くなってそこに座った後、暗闇の中を歩き回り、一緒に踊っているバレリーナを見つけます。踊りが終わると辺りはさらに暗くなり、光が戻ると、彼女は自分が宮殿にいることに気づきます。

そこで彼女は自分と同じ少女の肖像画と、眠っているネズミ人間が入ったガラスの棺を目にしました。人形の城の皇帝（泉光子郎演じる）、侍従長（高石タケル演じる）、そして会葬者の一団が現れ、クララをメアリー王女が戻ってきたと信じている。クララが間違いを正した後、人形の城の皇帝は彼女が人形の国にいると説明します。彼らは双頭のマウゼリンクス率いるネズミたちと戦争をしていた。敗北は避けられないと思われたとき、人形たちは降伏した。しかし、人形の城の皇帝はマウゼリンクスの最後の任期に同意することを拒否した。メ王女マリー（太刀川ミミ演じる）は息子のシュヌルル（ピコデビモン演じる）と結婚しなければならないというものだった。拒否したことに対する罰として、マウゼリンクスは王女を醜いネズミのように見えさせ、人形の城の皇帝が結婚に同意するまで眠り続けるという呪いをかけました。

人形の城の皇帝が物語を終えると、衛兵の隊長とフランツ（八神太一演じる）という名前の若い中尉が入ってきて、人形の城の皇帝に、世界中から賢者が集まったことを告げます。 人形の城の皇帝とフランツは、賢者が全員集まれば、王女マリーを呪いから解放する知識が得られると信じている。しかし、賢者たちの理論はいずれも突飛であるか、効果がありません。すぐに、どの治療法が王女を助けるかについて議論が勃発します。

誰も助ける方法を知らないことに絶望したクララは、城を出て通りをさまよいます。街頭の歌手が、すべての答えを持っていることで知られているジプシー占いの方向を彼女に示します。クララは彼女のところに行き、王女を救い、マウゼリンクスを倒す方法を知っているかどうか尋ねます。ジプシー占いは魔法の水晶玉を使用してマウゼリンクスを監視し、王女を救う唯一の方法は王の力の源であるクラカトークのクルミを破壊することであると明らかにします。これは、純粋な心を持つ誰かが魔法の真珠の剣を振るう場合にのみ可能です。ジプシー占いは剣を提供しますが、それを戦いに運ぶ人を見つけるのはクララ次第です。

道を歩いていると、クララはチェッカー ゲームをしている 2 人に出会います。しかし、彼女が道を尋ねて彼らに話しかけようとしたとき、彼らは森の人形使いと呼ばれる奇妙な男によって操られている人形であることが明らかになりました。最初は森の人形使いがなぞなぞを話し、クララの質問に答えるのが難しくなります。しかし、森の人形使いは、この道のさらに先に時計商人と呼ばれる人物が住んでいることを明らかにし、フランツの魔法を解くのを助けることができると考えられています。

やがて彼女は時計商人に出会い、フランツを救う唯一の方法は本当の愛だと告げられる。クララはフランツを愛していると宣言するが、時計商人はそれだけでは十分ではないと言う。旅に疲れ果てたクララは眠りに���ちる。彼女はフランツが再び人間になり、魔法の王国に入る夢を見る。城で末永く幸せに暮らすために階段を上ろうとしたとき、クララの足が動かなくなる。フランツは彼女なしで歩き続けるので、クララは彼の足をつかんで行かないでと懇願する。

彼女は目を覚まし、ガーが彼を引き離そうとしているときにくるみ割り人形をつかんでいることに気づく。彼女はシュヌルルにフランツを助けて代わりに自分を殺してほしいと懇願するが、シュヌルルはフランツが母親を殺した罪で死ななければならないと主張する。フランツがくるみ割り人形を刺そうとしたとき、クララは自分の体を盾として使う。これによりフランツは呪いから解放され、シュヌルルは破壊される。

クララはベッドで目を覚まし、隣にはドロッセルマイヤーおじさんがいました。クララが何が起こったのかを語り、ドロッセルマイヤーに時計で何をしていたのか尋ねようとしていると、ゲルダおばさんがやって来て、フリッツが来たと告げました。彼はフランツそっくりでやって来ました。

フリッツは家に戻ると、クララに花束を手渡し、「マルチパン城の王女様にぴったりだよ」とささやきました。彼はクララの手に優しくキスをし、クララはフリッツをとても恋しく思いました。
