The Housewardens' Music Taste

Summary: Having your own private dorm room at NRC means having the freedom to blast whatever you want through your speakers. But just what exactly are our dorm leaders listening to when nobody else is around?

A/N: I'm sorry this took *checks calendar* almost ten months for me to answer, I promise it hasn't been for lack of interest! Sometimes writing is hard and my brain is mean. Thank you for your patience! These takes are admittedly heavily biased by my own music taste and knowledge, so feel free to let me know if you think I missed any artists!

Riddle Rosehearts

You can't convince me his mom wasn't constantly playing classical music for him when he was growing up. I honestly think he still defaults to classical music, especially to improve his focus while reading or studying.

I also think Cater has definitely exposed him to a lot more modern music and, though he is undoubtedly very picky, there's even some of it he likes.

Artists that come to mind for Riddle include Vivaldi, Tchaikovsky, Red Velvet, and Mitski.

Leona Kingscholar

For the most part, I'd imagine Leona mostly listens to pretty chill music that's easy to nap to, like R&B or soft rock.

That's not to say he doesn't actively enjoy listening to music though. If he's in the mood to jam, I could see him turning on some hip-hop or even some angry punk music.

Artists that come to mind for Leona include Lil Nas X, Gorillaz, Gym Class Heroes, and The Weeknd.

Azul Ashengrotto

Lounge music feels like the easy answer here. Lots of smooth jazz and easy listening.

However, I also can't resist suggesting that Azul might have a secret fondness for electro-swing that he keeps secret due to the genre's reputation for being considered "cringe".

Artists that come to mind for Azul include Frank Sinatra, Kenny G, Michael Bublé, and Caravan Palace.

Kalim Al-Asim

Kalim strikes me as one of those guys that would say that he likes every genre of music, only he would actually mean every genre- rap and country included.

That being said, his preference definitely skews heavily in the direction of songs that he can dance to. Bonus points if the composition and instrumentation have a clear Scalding Sands influence.

Artists that come to mind for Kalim include Cascada, Saint Levant, Shakira, and Christina Aguilera.

Vil Schoenheit

For Vil, my brain immediately jumps to all the gayest, poppiest, cunt-serviest stuff I can think of. Imagine every song you and your friends might put on a playlist for pride with some sad girl music sprinkled in for flavor.

Being in Film Studies Club, I'd also imagine he spends a decent amount of time listening to and analyzing movie soundtracks, though whether this counts as part of his "music taste" is up for debate.

Artists that come to mind for Vil include Lady Gaga, Todrick Hall, Britney Spears, and MARINA.

Idia Shroud

This bitch's playlists are absolutely filled with Vocaloid songs, nightcore remixes, anime openings, and video game soundtracks. She is an absolute fucking nerd and I know her music taste reflects this. Let's not forget she is canonically an idol stan.

As for "normal" music, I think they probably listen to about what you'd expect- weird emo shit.

Artists that come to mind for Idia include My Chemical Romance, Utsu-P, Yasuharu Takanashi, and Will Wood.

Malleus Draconia

I genuinely don't even know where to start with Malleus. I feel like this guy listens to Gregorian chants and spooky Halloween sound effect compilations.

In all seriousness, I feel like Malleus would greatly enjoy pieces involving stringed instruments, seeing as he has a talent for playing them. The rest of his music taste probably stems from whatever Lilia and the others have exposed him to, and so is likely very strange.

Artists that come to mind for Malleus include The Correspondents, Burn the Ballroom, Scissor Sisters, and Lindsey Stirling.

0.7k, mingyu x gn!dealer!reader, fluff, takes place in casino, shits on gamblers a little 😭 (i don’t have any thoughts on gamblers i just needed it for the plot)

“if i win this one you’ll go on a date with me right?” the handsome annoying man sitting across the poker table asked grinning while playing with a chip between his fingers.

you rolled your eyes, “for the hundredth time this week, mr kim, no” you told him plainly, focusing on the task at hand and continuing to shuffle the cards.

truth be told- you wanted to say yes. so badly. kim mingyu was handsome and naturally charismatic so you couldn’t really blame yourself for falling for him just a tiny bit.

but regardless of how handsome and charming he was, above all he was a gambler and you didn’t really trust them. considering your job you met them pretty often, and the types of people you’d met in here were some of the worst.

some had families and would throw away their income surrounded by women when they should’ve been home with their wives, should’ve even been taking her out on a date and many have told this to you when they downed their twelfth shot of the night.

that isn’t to say all gamblers are bad, you’ve met some really nice people here but unfortunately you haven’t had a good experience with the gamblers that come here daily for hours with no end.

mingyu could very well just be here for a good time, but that doesn’t necessarily guarantee he isn’t the same as the men you’ve grown to hate over the years working here.

“oh come on ynnn” he whined a little unfitting considering the company at the table, huge men with a permanent scowl set between their brows. “just say yes once and you won’t regret it i promise” he looked at you, eyes sparkling and puppy like.

you sighed deciding to ignore him and start the game instead, “please place your bets” you plastered a smile while addressing everyone playing at the table.

to no surprise, mingyu won. regardless of whether he was a genius or just stupidly lucky- he always won.

the rest of the men left their table, a few muttering ‘stupid kid’ angrily under their breath but mingyu paid them no mind, turning to you once again.

“ynnn” he said sing-songily. “what do you sayyy?”

“congratulations mr kim?” you stared at him blankly, internally cooing when his shoulders deflated a little.

mingyu groaned, face in his hands before perking up and looking at you with a newfound determination in his eyes. “let’s start the next one”

it took you a little off guard but you listened regardless, starting the game by asking everyone to place their bets again.

oddly enough, mingyu was losing. he was making ametuer moves and it was only leaving you confused. because of this, mingyu ended up losing the game- luckily he didn’t lose much money as he would make but it was still a loss.

“do you wanna go out with me?” he asked, catching you off guard.

“huh?”

“go out with me?”

you scoffed, “didn’t you ask me this like an hour ago?”

mingyu continued to keep his gaze on you, admiring your focus on your work and how fast your fingers worked to get everything set for the next game.

“yeah but.. i thought you’d agree if i asked you after i lost” he told you matter of factly as if it was the most obvious thing ever and was a normal conclusion to draw.

you stared at him confused before laughing out of pure disbelief. “you mean to tell me, that you just blew that much money- just because you thought it’d make me say yeah to going out with you”

if it was any other person they probably would’ve started looking a little sheepish, but mingyu stood his ground even deciding to look proud at his ‘amazing’ plan.

you bit your upper lip, making mingyu a little anxious awaiting your answer. “keep this for me” you winked before heading to deal at another table.

mingyu didn’t let his mood get too sour before he opened the folded note you gave him, your number on it and a ‘i finish at 11’ accompanying it. when he spotted you and caught your gaze, your heart gushed at the boyish grin set on his excited face.

Since my last fanmade map post, I since started making another fanmade map, so here it is

The coaches are a trio of assassins: Min-Ji, Hyun-ok, and Byeol

(Made using Gacha Life 2)

This song also has a battlemode against Jopping (I tried by best with the editing idk if it looks good though)

Background: The map starts off in a secret base, colored in pink with multiple monitors on the screen, during the pre chores, the screens display supposive “targets” of random coaches, during the chorus, the screens display hearts

Gold moves (3) all the same

Lore backstory:

Min-Ji lore: Min-Ji was just a normal person until she got with a certain guy, who was a very picky guy and pushed her to look beautiful for his standards, Min-Ji tried to break things up with the guy, but to no avail. That was until Min-Ji met Hyun-ok, who taught her to defense herself

During her training, things got heated up with Min-Ji and her boyfriend, so much so that it made Min-Ji snap, killing her boyfriend in range

Despite being free from him, he left her in a terrible state, ashamed of her face, she wears a mask at all times, still affected by his harsh words

Hyun-ok lore: is a succubus that became an assassin so that she could find a lot more victims to seduce and kill, she was alone for a long time until she met Min-Ji & Byeol, she saw them heartbroken and saw potential in them. She took them under her wing (haha get it) and caught them to become assassins

Byeol - Byeol was once in a happy relationship once, one that could have lasted a long time, but she soon found out that her boyfriend was cheating on her, heartbroken. Byeol wanted to find a way to get payback, to which she met Hyun-ok, who trained her to be an assassin and “get rid” of her ex

Battlemode Endings:

Min-Ji: Min-Ji tries to seduce Jopping P1 before she tries to swing her dagger at him, but Jopping P1 manages to escape before she does

Jopping P1: Jopping P1 manages to defeat Min-Ji, but he tries to help her injuries, but before he can help her, Min-Ji throws a smoke bomb at the ground, when the fog clears, Min-Ji is gone, leaving Jopping P1 alone

I only had an oc idea for Min-Ji at the time so that's why the others have short summaries so I might go back and edit them

I had an idea for Min-Ji at first, and the original song was gonna be STRATEGY by TWICE, but I had another idea for that map so I decided to do Russian Roulette instead
