Afterwards, Geun-Tae Kim - well that guy and I got dragged off to Namyeong-dong Daegong Bunshil*, got tortured and then released. Then, I participated in the labor movement. When I was participating in the National Labor Union, I went to jail for violating National Security Law and was bailed out. After that, there was finally a regime change, but without their knowing, the people in the new government were also affected negatively because we had fought under dictatorship for so long. They were supposed to prepare for the future through tolerance and by looking ahead but… That’s when I started to think something is necessary - something that can change one’s character.” “So what did you do?” “I went to study abroad in Myanmar at an international Buddhist university by myself to properly study meditation and Buddhist philosophy to pass down to others. That’s what I did in my 50’s.” “What kind of work are you doing now?” “Recently, I tried persistently to lower the voting age to 18, but failed.”

*A political movement that used the cultural arts through dance, singing, performance, literature, etc. to build up the democratic society by resisting the dictatorial regime; otherwise known as “cultural movement” in Korean (문화 - culture, 운동 - movement). *Talchum: traditional Korean mask play that tells a story through dance and song using costumes. It was used to satirically convey a message dealing mostly with social and political topics like the royal family, policies, higher social classes, etc.. *Pungmul: traditional Korean folk performance played in costumes using traditional instruments while singing and dancing. Used in the pro-democracy movement as political protests. Pungmul-pae: performing Pungmul in a group. *Namyeong-dong Daegong Bunshil: Under the militarized dictatorship, this was a place where many democratic activists were severely tortured. (In 1985, the leader of the Democratic Movement Youth Alliance, Geun-Tae Kim, was tortured for 22 days in this place.)

내 동의도 없이 더 문 그룹에 가입시켰네 그럼 저딴글이나 쓰질 말던가 아 그리고 비례표로 갑질하지마 민주사회 정당정치에서 정책 좋고 정치철학에 맞으면 표주는거지 니들 불쌍해서 한표준다 어디서 배워쳐먹은 반민주적 오만한 발상인가? 근홍씨였나? 우파들의 뇌는 두려움에 더 민감하다고 그랬던거 같은데 제대로 인증중이네~ 옛 새루니당 출신들은 북한의 공포 민주당은 콩준표의 공포 공포에 의한 정치하는거 대상만 다르지 똑같네 그러케 자신이 없나?
