싸우자귀신아 / Bring It On, Ghost

Bring It On, Ghost or Let’s fight, Ghost is a 2016 South Korean horror/comedy/romance/action and supernatural drama starring Ok Taec Yeon, Kim So Hyun and Kwan Yool.

Synopsis:

Park Bong Pal has always been able to see ghosts, which is why he works as an exorcist in order to make some money. One day, when he is called to a haunted high school, he meets Kim Hyun Ji, a student who died five years ago in a car accident, but who is unable to move on to afterlife. During a fight they accidentally kiss and Hyun Ji discovers that Bong Pal holds the key to her past, which is why she decides to follow him around. As a result, they become ghost fighting partners. 

My Opinion:

I really enjoyed watching this drama. Each episode had a subplot to avoid the boredom, but at the same time the main plot was always there and more and more hints were revealed in every episode. Although the plot still got kind of predictable from the middle to the end of the drama, it didn't bother me at all. I wouldn't say it has a lot of horror in it, but some ghosts were definitely scary. 

The action scenes in this drama were also really intense, thrilling and convincing.

My absolute favorite part of the whole drama was the extremely hilarious sunbae duo consisting of Choi Cheon Sang and Kim In Rang. I looked forward to every scene with them, since they made me laugh out loud almost every time I saw them. I guess this drama would’ve been pretty boring without them. Besides, the sound effects in this show were used pretty good and in a really funny way, especially in scenes with those two.

The couple in this drama had a really good and cute chemistry, which I found pretty surprising, since the age gap of Ok Taec Yeon and Kim So Hyun is pretty big, but they worked out pretty well together. Their acting was really good and convincing. I think I would’ve enjoyed them as a couple more, if other people would've been able to see Kim Hyun Ji too. But seeing Bong Pal kissing her and knowing that at the same time it must look for others like he was making out with someone invisible, just made me cringe. I felt embarrassed watching it, although I knew it was not real hahaha. 

This drama reminded me of Oh My Ghostess at some points, although these two dramas are still kinda different. I have to admit tho, that I still prefer Oh My Ghostess, but Bring it on, Ghost is definitely a show worth watching.

A comedy about the ghost of a high school girl who has been dead for 5 years and an exorcist college boy with the ability to see and hear ghosts. He has made money over the years with his ability to touch ghosts and fight them off, so when he’s in need of a part-time job and can’t find one that pays well enough, he starts putting ads online as an exorcist for hire. His ad: “Will face off with your ghosts. Chances of winning: virgin ghosts 80%, bachelor ghosts 40%, child ghosts 97%, the rest 50%.” One night he goes out on the job and faces off with a school girl ghost, they fight, they accidentally kiss and sparks fly. She moves into his place and wants to solve the mystery of what happened to her.
