I feel like this needs to be said.

I haven’t been an aroha long.

The first song I heard was ‘All night’ last year but I only really got into them this year around January.

In the short time, all of the members; yes, all 6 of them have made their way into my heart which now holds an insane amount of love for each one of them.

Not going to lie, but when someone asks me who my ult group is, I always say Astro; whether they know of them or not.

But...

I visited my friend’s house yesterday and she was shocked to hear that my ult group is Astro. She doesn’t know of them except for Cha Eunwoo and I understood because she stans different groups and that’s perfectly alright. I respect her artists. In fact, they are one of the artists I like and listen to as well.

However...

What really rubbed me the wrong way was when she mentioned that even her friend was an aroha but only liked Moonbin, Sanha and Cha Eunwoo.

According to her friend the other members were “ugly” which didn’t sit right with me at all.

She laid special emphasis on Jinjin and I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. It really doesn’t make me feel nice at all.

Mj’s my bias and to hear her say that makes me feel like shit. But, today, I want to talk about Jinjin. Primarily because I’ve heard a lot of people talk about how “ugly” he is and I’m sick and tired of hearing it so I’m standing up for him.

So! This is a Jinjin appreciation post! 🌸

I wanted to start with his appreciation because like people sometimes don’t understand how special he is.

He’s a good leader! He really is! He’s usually the one who consoles his members and his love for his members as well as Arohas never goes unnoticed. Ever.

(Like look at him! He’s probably one of the only few who can pull off green hair and look that good!)

But apart from being a good leader, he’s so darn good looking! He’s got a great personality...he’s caring, fun and just so damningly lovable that I want to put him in my pocket and never let him go.

He’s written songs for Astro and the one from their most recent comeback, ‘Lights On’, is a bop. He’s extremely hardworking and to hear people (who claim they’re Arohas) say that they hate him because he’s ugly is rather shameful.

I get it, you can have your own bias within the group but does that give you the right to completely shit on other members and judge them for their looks?

No.

Absolutely not.

Now, I’m not a hater of solo stans. Really, I’m not...but it was heart breaking to hear my friend say those things.

And also, please don’t call yourself an aroha if you can’t respect all the members equally. Now, I’m not saying bias...you can have a favourite member within the group but as an aroha, you RESPECT EACH MEMBER EQUALLY.

By respect, I mean not talking crap about them and then parading around as their fan.

Please, I’m requesting you...don’t talk crap about Astro and their members. Each one of them is important. EXTREMELY IMPORTANT.

If your favourite group can’t function without a member, neither can my favourite group.
