안서현 측은 20일 공식입장을 내고 “드라마 ‘학교2020’에 애정과 열정을 갖고 감독님, 그리고 제작사 관계자 분들과 함께 긴 시간 준비해 왔지만 여러 가지 예상치 못한 상황으로 결국 하차 소식이 이렇게 전해지게 돼 안타까운 마음”이라고 밝혔다.
