I had the great opportunity to be able to use the DISCOVER SEOUL PASS and visit 63 Building in Seoul for the first time. The 63 Square skyscraper is a Yeouido landmark commanding spectacular views of the city. 기록을 한다는 건 참 어려워. 무한을 느끼고도 언어라는 좁은 창살 안으로 그것을 눌러담아야 하는 거니까. 과연 활자 안에 그것이 다 담기려나 모르겠어. 요새 주 6일을 쉬지 않고 일만 했어. 가게가 너무 큰 데, 거의 나 혼자 가겔 봐. 계산도 손님 대응도 물건 안내도 다 괜찮은데 도둑 감시하는게 너무 힘들어. 물리적 한계가 느껴져. 그리고 하루 8.5시간 동안 거의 쉬지 않고 일하니까, 요새 혼자만의 시간이 절대적으로 필요해서, 저녁을 맨날 맥도날드나 식당에서 먹고, 커피까지 마시면서 밤 늦게 집에 들어가곤 했어. 캐서린은 그래도 날 다 이해해주는데, 그런 캐서린과 더 많은 시간 보내야 하는데,😢 그렇게 넓은 맘을 가진 캐서린 조차 들어올 공간이 여의치 않았어. 그러다 오늘은 간만에 캐서린이 몸담고 있는 뮤직 클럽에서 이스터 기념 연주회를 연다고 나도 visitor로 5불 내고 입장했어. 그런거야, 서양인들 청소년 합창단은 화음을 넣는 음색이 남다른 것 같아. 첫 부문에서 그만 눈물이 터져나오고 말았어. 너무나 아름다워서! 그동안 회색 뿐이던 내 삶에 인생엔 이렇게나 아름다운 빛깔도 존재한단다..라고 알려주는 것 같았어. 그리고 피아노 독주, 쏠로, 악기 이름은 모르겠는데 amazing grace 합주할 때 앞부분에 나오는 스코틀랜드 관악기인가..하는 것 독주, 어떤 분은 하늘 나라에 있는 본인의 쌍둥이 여동생이 생전에 브람스 곡에 맞춰 성악하던 레코딩을 들고와 라디오를 틀어주었고, 어떤 꼬마는 짧고 유쾌한 팽귄~이란 곡을 치기도 했다. 무대는 작았지만 다채로왔고, 나는 그 다채로움 앞에서 눈물 흘려야 했다. 온전히 피부로 음악을 먹고 왔다.
