드디어 플라워링 하트 완구를 구매했는데 예상했던 것보다도 훨씬 작고, 반짝거리고, 귀엽다... (이상하다.. 그동안 내가 구매했던 완구들은 어린이용이라 하더라도 데따 크고 무거웠던 거 같은데...)

생각보다 잘 뽑힌 완구라서 놀랐다. 플하 방영 당시에 표절논란이 좀 있었던 걸로 기억하는데 다시 생각해봐도 좀 억까가 아니었던가 싶을 정도로 디자인도 작동 기믹도 다르고. (티니핑 생각하면 정말 플하의 표절논란은 장난처럼 느껴짐) 매물 뜬 후에 좀 고심해서 샀는데 구매한 보람이 있는 것 같음.

Flowering Heart! Review And What It’s About.

So like a lot of magical girl fans, I stumbled upon the ever so adorable Korean Anime, Flowering Heart and of course, there is no subs or anything about what it is in English. So I took it upon myself to research and watch it, using translations and decided to help other people out by doing this review and info page. This based on what I translated from the Korean Wikia Page as well as other pages.

So if you want to know about the characters and story, here is a quick guide to give you an idea when watching this anime.

Series pays a homage to old school magical girl anime. Back then magical girl anime were more so about magical girls using their powers to help people, rather than fight off villains. This series does the same thing but with a villain to face but not so to fight. 

The series is about three girls who gain magical powers so they can become adults and take varies jobs to help people out of their despair, which is caused worse by a Queen of Despair type character known as “Cannabis”, that feeds on misery and the loss of hope. It effected a magical world and now has come to the human world. The girls must use their powers to help these people and thus weaken the despair that turns into a monster usually, (more so a bug) and help these people over come it. 

Just think of Futago Hime (Anyone remember that show?) or classic magical girl with Jewel Pet ques concept. In fact, there is a bit of reference from both Jewel Pet and Futago Hime Gyu. The cannabis flowers that cause despair in people look almost identical to the “Unhappy Flowers” in Futago Hime Gyu and the fact the main character’s gem is Ruby that is symboled by a cherryblossom (but it’s actually Azalea that is her main flower.) could be a reference from Jewel Pet. I wouldn’t say this series rips off those anime, as it’s clear it does it’s own thing with the two concepts.

 Their powers are called “Language of Flowers” from what I translated, they activate it by via make up kit and saying “Flowering Heart” and each of their powers are named from a different flower. Each girl has their own gem stone. 

Characters

This adorable pink girl is name is Jean Ari. She’s a cheerful 12 year old girl that loves art, fashion, beauty and of course, making people happy. Her powers are called “Pink Azalea; Passion and Life”. Her gemstone is Ruby. 

The tough girl here is name Sunwoo Nu-Wood. She’s a sports lover, brave. Basically your normal tomboy character. Her language of flower is Dandelion; Symbol of Happiness and Gratitude. Her gem is Topaz. Like her other two classmates she is 12.

The last girl here is Usuha. She’s delicate, kind, smart and very feminine. Her language of flowers is Forget-Me-Not; Wisdom and Sincerity and her gem stone is Sapphire. 

The fat hamster thing is Chess. He’s actually a prince from his kingdom, the eldest son to inherit the throne and his stepmother is what’s causing despair to the world. He takes the form of hamster due to being banished by his stepmom from his world and runs into Jean and gives her the powers needed to stop this evil. His true form is below. He’s actually 17 years old.

This guy here is name Trump (Yup but more handsomer than the one running for president.), though from what I read his nasty attitude and pose, was inspired off of Donald Trump. (Well since Donald is a real life villain, it makes sense...) He is Chess’ half brother and the son of Cannabis Queen. He works for the bad guys but from the ending and opening, it looks like he’s gonna be one of the good guys eventually. He’s 13 years old and takes the form of the president at Jean’s school. The cat that is often with him is Mao, who often influences him to dark magic.

The last girl is name Syuel. I had a hard time understanding the translation of her profile but she’s somehow related to Trump. (From what I read, a friend of the family. Not a sister, it would have said so on Chess’ and Trump’s profiles and her profile doesn’t state this either.) From what I understood from the translation is she wants to be queen of their magic kingdom and gains respect from Cannabis Queen. 

Her language of flower is Snow Beauty and Nobility and possesses the diamond gem.  She’s basically a stuck up and selfish type girl that soon opens up to the main characters. She gets jealous of Jean for getting too close to Trump (Gosh that sounds weird when you’re an American...) and becomes somewhat of a rival to her.

And that’s basically it from what I translated and watch. It’s a decent cute show. If you’re looking for something fantastic and new, I will admit, this is not it, but if you want a show that is cute and magical without much fighting, this is definitely up your ally, especially if you like shows like Jewel Pet, Futago Hime, ect.
