Hello to all the friends I haven't met yet! This is a selective roleplay account for Elric of Melniboné, the classic pulp fantasy character who inspired franchises like A Song of Ice and Fire, The Witcher, Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, appears in Marvel Comics, Titain Comics, &&. much more. I fell deeply in love with these stories back in 2023, and they are incredibly close to my heart. Thank you for helping me to indulge in these narratives each day!

If you write with me constantly I promise you’re already my favourite, this is just something I actively do to try and spread the love and make new friends feel welcome!

𝟎𝟑. I usually enjoy 𝐟𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐬𝐲, 𝐠𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜, &&. 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐫, and that genre preference is reflected in my writing. I enjoy doing darker, tragic plots. I'm used to writing a variety of things, but just know this blog will likely have some violent and/or triggering content on it. If it happens, it will be tagged with a basic “tw: word/term here” so you can block it.

𝟎𝟒. My activity is low with bursts of hyperactivity. I use light formatting; I do not care if you do. Sometimes I use icons; I do not care if you do. I'm very flexible when it comes to what kind of threads and interactions I have, and will typically "auto-adjust" Elric to fit in your character's world. I know that's the roleplay standard, especially on this site, I've just found that it stresses me out &&. makes the hobby unfun for me, so I simply don't anymore. I prefer building interactions that way because it gives me the freedom to tailor my character to yours fully. I do have some verses outlined on my carrd but they're more like starting points. More like guidelines, if you will. Additionally, if you followed me I'm going to assume that you're interested in my character, their setting, their lore, &&. their themes in the same way that I'm interested in yours. Yes, I will auto-adjust Elric to make sense with your character, but also do not be surprised if I throw your character into his world for an adventure too. ▍▍▍     𝐈 ,   𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒔 & 𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒊𝒕𝒚 . This blog is extremely private and highly selective.  This means that any interactions on my blog require we be mutual followers;  likewise, I am selective in what I respond to, meaning that I will not always answer every meme sent in or every starter that is written for me.  This blog is very low activity for me, as it is not the only one that I run.  I’m very slow.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒔 . I prefer to plot my threads.  I don’t mind having spontaneous interactions, nor do I mind continuations of ask responses, but plotted threads will always have a priority for me.  Plotting for me does not entail we have every aspect of our interaction discussed and determined, but simply that we have a scenario or direction in mind.  I’ve learned that directionless threads tend to drop more easily than threads with a loose framework, and thus I’ve learned to prefer them.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒓𝒐𝒍𝒆𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒚 𝒇𝒂𝒖𝒙 𝒑𝒂𝒔 . The standard golden rules apply in terms of roleplay: godmodding, metagaming, and powerplaying are not acceptable whatsoever.  If you cross that line in a thread and it wasn’t discussed beforehand during plotting, it’s very likely I’ll shoot you a DM before dropping the thread or asking you to rewrite your reply to me.  I control my character, you control yours.  You’ll get one polite message about this before I drop any pretense of future threads with you.  Your character does not know Yukiharu is Helios unless we’ve discussed that much or your character knows in canon.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒆𝒄𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒆𝒂𝒅𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏𝒔 . I will never force you to adhere to my headcanons regarding lore, your muse, or future / past events.  They’re my headcanons, and I don’t expect anyone else to agree with them.  Please don’t think you have to work around them if you don’t like them.  Simply tell me up front you don’t want them acknowledged / part of our interactions and I’ll gladly do so.  On the flip side, your headcanons are your own!  Please respect me if I disagree with them.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒕𝒂𝒈𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒈𝒆𝒓𝒔 . I tag everything as #trigger *, and while I have the set triggers that apply to these series and non-sexual nsfw tagged by default, I am also willing to tag custom triggers so long as you either list them in your rules or politely let me know to tag them.  As for me, I ask that you tag the following:  #clowns *, #gore *, and preferably any adultery plots as #adultery *.

▍▍▍     𝐈𝐈 ,   𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒐𝒏 𝒅𝒊𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒈𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆 . While most canon aspects of the various adaptations I reference will be recognised in some form or fashion, and the core storyline will remain relatively unchanged, the bottom line of my writing is this: I follow the idea of Schrodinger’s Authour, meaning that Naoko Takeuchi’s intentions are important except for when I don’t like them.  If this bothers you, I don’t care.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒉𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒊𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒔 . I by default prefer to use honourifics in my writing, but if a partner dictates that they would rather not, I understand.  My logic is basically that honourifics play a key role in Japanese culture, especially in how you can more easily comprehend relationships between characters, and so I try to accurately use that when at all possible.  Just because I prefer using honourifics does not mean I am comfortable intermingling English and Japanese into my replies.  The only time you will ever see me using a Japanese phrase or term is if there is no English equivalent  ( such as proper titles or objects )  for me to use.  I don’t mind if my partners do, it’s just my personal preference.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒏𝒆𝒓𝒔 & 𝒔𝒉𝒊𝒑𝒑𝒊𝒏𝒈 . I have main and exclusive partners and am always open for discussing that status with my regular partners.  In regards to romance, this blog is multi-ship but ship-exclusive.  This means that while I may have multiple ships across my multiple verses, I will not ship with duplicates of a muse for my own sanity and organisation.  I ship chemistry and only with friends, meaning that all ships and the possibility of them need to be both discussed and developed before anything happens romantically-speaking.

▍▍▍     𝐈𝐈𝐈 ,   𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐮𝐧.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 & 𝒖𝒏𝒇𝒐𝒍𝒍𝒐𝒘𝒊𝒏𝒈 .  I have been on this site long enough to have learned that I need to create a space that’s relaxing and enjoyable for me, because at the end of the day this is roleplay and it’s not that deep.  If a hobby stresses me out more than my full-time job, it’s a bad hobby.  I will unfollow, blacklist, soft-block, or hard-block whoever I need to.  This is not a slight toward anyone, but more just me making sure nothing I don’t want to see winds up on my dash.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒅𝒖𝒑𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒕𝒆𝒔 & 𝒐𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒔 . I am a proud member of the Helios Protection Squad and love all of my duplicates;  that being said, I will not follow first to avoid triggering anyone’s anxiety.  In terms of original characters, I tend to avoid those who:  assume a familial relation to my muse, are essentially “x canon character, but better,” or are self-inserts.

𝒓𝒆 :   𝒅𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒔𝒆 & 𝒅𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒂 . We’re writing fictional characters over the internet.  Drama isn’t the end of the world.  Callouts should only be written if someone is an actual threat, not because you don’t like them.  Commentary on drama should be tagged.  Negativity should be tagged.  As a CSA survivor, I have issues re: some people’s usage of the label “pedophile” or “pedophile apologist,” and so I try to stay away from discussions that aren’t clear cut  ( like an adult sending minors nudes )  for my own mental health.  Please respect this.

I can’t be tired, unmotivated, busy, stressed, anxious, etc. I tend to be quicker on days when I post stuff outright (particularly if I’m replying back and forth with someone), but that takes a lot of energy and time.

𝟐𝟎. 𝐢𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐰𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐮𝐭, 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐛𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐨 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐩 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞?

I usually can only even start a reply if I have muse for it/know where it’s going, so I don’t usually have this problem. Although, there have been times where I felt “obligated” to reply in the past and forced a poor reply. I try to avoid doing that nowadays because Yikes
