Earlier this year, allegations were released by producing idol Himari against the biggest company in the industry regarding the theft of several tracks and whilst numerous press conferences were held by the chairman they did not seem to appease the enraged netizens, so the artist herself agreed to make act of presence. While Hybe was thought by many to have made its worst mistake by attempting to chain down the young woman's solo career, the venom filled lyrics laced in every track of the extended play 'Sungyo' proved that the miscalculations towards her anger might just lead to their temporary downfall - with stocks already reaching what appears to be their lowest point in years.

Throughout the conference, most questions were directed towards the chairman himself considering the seriousness of the accusations against him that had not been dismissed even with so much media coverage and the idol observed silently, seeming rather amused at some answers - which many now believe to be lies. When came time for her to pick up the microphone, the words that followed proved deadly for the corporation as despite not attacking the thieves directly she focused on providing proof; projecting the contents of her laptop onto a large screen.

Atiny noticed that when their vocalist spoke up to provoke the chairman due to one of the responses given lacking in truth, she quoted the group captain's most recent controversial song with Odetari, saying; "남 관찰할 시간 있음 네 뒤통수나 조심해" (which translates to "You have time to observe others, watch out for the back of your head"). This thinly veiled threat was interpreted by viewers to reference distinct subjects; according to them the beginning of that sentence was to remind him about the allegations by employees concerning staff members being sent to act as her sasaengs, whilst the rest solidified the extensive knowledge she has about the inner workings of the corporation due to having liberal access to the building, which would very well prove deadly considering the correction in his statement that followed.

Developments in the case shocked netizens as it was revealed that these were not isolated incidents, the artist had been producing for the corporation since early 2021 and there appear to be tracks written entirely by the vocalist in which her name was completely erased. Named tracks include; Drunk-Dazed & Fever (Enhypen), Farewell Neverland, Lonely Boy & Frost (TXT), Get up & Ditto (NewJeans). The claims were supported through evidence including screenshots of conversations with the chairman concerning the projects, the original data of guide tracks made long before their releases and discussions provided by a member of the production team in which the removal of her credits was being arranged.

With no further ground to stand on, Bang Si-Hyuk announced that the rights to every stolen track would be transferred over to her prior to departing without further commentary, and despite leaving no admission behind it became clear that every claim was indeed true. Many sharp eyed viewers also noticed the hairpin seeming eerily similar to the one worn throughout the survival show in which she served as master of ceremony alongside her mentor, though this time it read 'Sungyo', which is not only the title of her most recent solo release, but can also be interpreted as 'to bow down' - seemingly fitting considering that while the chairman bowed, the much younger artist refused to so much as lower her head.

This public humiliation also confirmed that the vocalist has ghost written numerous highly successful songs, granting her more power over the industry at merely twenty three years of age than netizens previously thought as while she is already the second most credited idol with 235 KOMCA credits, only 3 away from Ravi who stands at 238, those missing tracks would likely place her at the top. With this knowledge in mind several social media uploads have surfaced in order to defend the young woman against those claiming the allegations were founded in lies, all using the same argument ; why would someone respected by some of the biggest names in the industry, such as G-Dragon himself, who several artists have claimed refused to have her name in certain credits no matter the track's popularity, lie simply to get the rights to a few more songs.

Over the years many have come to disrespect the maknae publicly regarding the most heinous things, such as the announcement of a severe hearing disability (with only 55% remaining intact), the sight of scars from the accident, or even simply the fact that she happens to be the sole woman in a male group, and with Ateez being from a small company no risks could be taken when it came to retaliation so she was forced into silence. The group had already faced plagiarism issues in the past; 3WHICH with Guerilla, Soyeon with Wave, Eltee Skhillz with The Real's music video, 4EVER with the Ice On My Teeth music video and Vata with the Say My Name choreography to name a few, which they were made to stay silent on as to not damage their already uncertain rise to fame.

Himari has become vocal about these issues and demonstrated more than once the underlying anger behind those innocent feline eyes by refusing to lower herself before certain industry members regardless of the age difference - spitting out the same venom as older brother, Yoongi, when statements needed to be made. That same night the maknae came to bandmate, Wooyoung's, defense when people were accusing the dancer of attempting to tear apart another artist's name by refusing to take part in the 'Like Jennie' challenge when it was in fact due to Vata taking part in its choreography, and here is what she had to say;

"So when other groups get plagiarized it's war but when it comes to us it's dramatic, careful, your insecurity is showing. It's simple to tell those from small companies to keep their mouth shut, isn't it ? It's a little harder to use common sense and a minute of research to understand our anger, clearly."

Throughout nearly seven active years the vocalist worked tirelessly in the studio, leading to severe health issues prominent to this day while nearing death during a touring anchor and it seems as though people still fail to understand what Hybe shamelessly stealing tracks truly implies. Artists that have been through similar ordeals showed their support through social media by reposting certain clips of the conference as some made physical appearances at her side after staying backstage during the event ; S.Coups, Woozi, Agust D and Taemin, obviously along with fellow Ateez members.

History was made that day when the producer walked away without one singular scratch after setting an entire billion dollar corporation ablaze, high heels resonating against the hardwood flooring of the silent room to remind everyone just how deadly that melodic voice can be. The pretty smile revealing unusually sharp canines, shot towards the cameras with every question curated carefully to clear the chairman's image being asked, looked more predatory than ever and it was no longer a powerful man facing a helpless little girl, it was a prey running right into the open jaws of a starved tiger.

관계성에서 오는 실망감은 어쩔 수 없다. 대개 남에게 받고 싶은 형태를 베풀기 마련이라, 저 사실을 인지 하면 꽤 많은 사례의 사람을 이해할 수 있다.

하지만 내 기대만큼 대접을 못 받거나 채워지는 게 없다면 당연히 실망감은 피치 못한다. 아무 대가 없는 호의를 베풀고 그게 다시 돌아오지 못하더라도 오롯이 감정은 자기 몫이란 사실을 간과해선 안 된다.

받지 않아도 된다고 하는 선에서 베풀어야 나 자신을 잃지 않을 수 있다. 모든 건 여유에서 비롯되며, 그 여유는 자신만이 만들거나 찾을 수 있겠지 의지로 행한 행동이나 말 경우엔 남 탓을 하지 않는 게 좋을 것이다. 탓할 존재가 있다면 그게 버릇이 되고 마치 자신은 아무 죄가 없다는 듯이 말하고 있는 모습을 보게된다. 얼마나 무책임한가?

어떤 이가 되고 싶은가? 보다 어떤 이로 살 것인가에 더 포커스를 맞추다 보면 어느 정도 틀이 만들어진다. 그 틀은 영원하지 않겠지만서도…

1. 무언가 무너져 내리는 감정이 슬픔의 척도라면 최소 아파트 몇 채는 무너지는 찰나였다. 그건 슬픔이라고 명명하기 어려운 그런 것이었다.

걱정과 각오와 슬픔을 뭉쳐서 꼿꼿하게 받아내야 하는 순간이었다.

2. 아파트에 살아본 적은 없다.

그래도 살아내보고 싶은 현대식 건물, 요즘의 욕심, 지척에 널려도 내것이 아닌 그런거,

뻗으면 쥐어낼 줄 알았는데 아득히 먼 줄 알고, 그런데도 다분히 가까이에 있는거.

3. 행복으로 층층이 쌓인 줄 알았던 그런게 와르르 무너진다.

정말 와르르.

단 한번도 상상해보지 못한 방식으로 그대로 무너지고야 만다.

아침에 일어나서 맑은 공기 마시며 기지개 펴고, 여름이면 눈 비비고 요가 매트 들고 밖으로 나가 스트레칭도 하고, 겨울에도 담요 둘둘 걸치고 따뜻한 커피 들고 하늘 보면서 마시고, 동그란 보름달이 뜨는 밤엔 바깥에 나가 별구경, 달구경 하고, 눈이 오면 블루투스 스피커로 좋아하는 째즈나 캐롤 틀어두고 눈 구경하고, 이불 빨래는 쨍쨍한 햇볕 아래 뽀송하게 말리고. 아파트보다 내 기준 더 살기 좋은 환경을 찾고 있다. 난방비, 전기세가 얼마나 나올지는 아직 가늠이 안되지만, 벌레들이랑 얼마나 ��이 마주칠지는 모르겠지만, 일단 차근차근 해보자고.

곧 입주할 아파트 사전 점검을 다녀온 뒤로 첫 집, 새 집에 대한 기대와 환상은 길바닥을 나뒹구는 낙엽처럼 떨어졌고, 짓밟혔고, 가루처럼 으스러져 형태도 알아볼 수 없게 변해버렸다. 하자 표시 스티커를 집안 곳곳에 수백 장 붙이면서 열이 끝도 없이 차올랐다. 그러고 싶진 않았는데 끊임없이 짜증을 냈고 욕을 했다. 거지근성으로 똘똘 뭉친 조합원들, 날림으로 공사한 시공사, 배 째라는 시행사, 우리 집은 조금 더 신경 써달라고 말해 주겠다던(시공사 본사 근무한다는) 지영이친구, 어느 아파트든 하자는 다 있다고, 살면서 조금씩 고쳐나가는 거라고 남 일처럼 말하는 건설업 종사자 친형까지도.

장작을 열심히 넣은 만큼 활활 타오르는 열기에 결국 나 자신도 타버렸다. 이제 입주까지는 한 달도 채 남지 않았고 대출, 이사, 청소, 줄눈, 코팅 등 신경 써야 할 일은 한가득인데 거의 방치 상태다. 차라리 그냥 없었던 일이었으면 좋겠다.

브루노마스랑 로제가 아파트라는 노래를 내서 인기가 많다던데, 들어보지도 않았다. 점점 그런것들에 관심이 줄어든다.

날이 추워지고 수능이 끝났고 벌써 연말 분위기다. 가끔 그런생각을 한다. 지나가면서 마주치는 사람들 나와 연결된 사람들의 집을 상상해본다. 누구나 다 집이 있고 돌아갈 곳이 있겠지. 그 사람들의 집은 어떻게 생겼을까? 어떤 물건이 있고 어떤 냄새가 날까?

친구집에 놀러가는 일도 매우 드물어진 요즘이다. 나는 아파트보다는 주택이 좋은데, 나중에 난 어떤 집에 살게될까?
