rolls in here because i just realized it's officially been ten years as of april 15 since i started writing ahri on tumblr. a whole decade with this fox ... it honestly doesn't feel like it, and i know i've been in and out of tumblr as the years have gone by, but my love for ahri hasn't dissolved in the slightest bit. in fact, it's only grown. i mean, pouring ten years into a single character has to imply that, right? ╰(*´︶`*)╯♡ to think she's gone from canon ahri to a kumiho deity to a ravenous beast to her elderwood au to her spirit blossom au to the forlorn, charming, mysterious little man-eating gardener & forgotten demigoddess & keeper of the ancient woods she is now. i'm thinking back fondly on how i used to write short stories for her creating whole new lore, built on the vastaya language, have researched kumiho folklore top to bottom to understand her better, and how she's the only character i've ever come back to time and time again even as life's gotten so busy.

i dunno, but thanks to all of you for sticking by me even when i dip in and out of being here these days. it means a lot & i have no intentions of ever leaving my fox wife, so here's to another uuuuh 10 years?!

ahri, in offering to her all mother, rendering the soft heart of a sacrificial lamb who knows not of it's fate, entombed in a blissful, flower-laden dream. she's truly the most merciful of apex predators.

ahri is the predator that pulls you into a false sense of security. she dulls your senses; with her pretty mien and her delicate touch. but, her claws slowly sink in, like a frog in a pot of slowly boiling water. you won't notice a thing; you poor poor creature, until you're slowly falling into a nice deep slumber with Mother Nature. ♥️

this is also a note that i'll be rebooting her lore a lil' bit. i've had something written up in my drafts for months and months and this feels like a good time to clean it up and use it. it'll put ahri even more into original character territory but! that's fine! because she's already my oc, anyway!

some things to think about: modern ahri has lived through many centuries, and many periods of fashion. i'm thinkin' about her with a cute 90s bob with her bangs pinned back with cute clips and overalls. she also most definitely wore dangerously low-rise jeans in the early 2000s. ( • ⩊ • )
