He'd ignored the premonitions from Pharos, and he'd ignored the way his heart pulsated when they encountered those Shadows during the full moon. Junpei was right to blame him.]

[...And Ryoji had been the one to pull him out of his misery. First there was Shinjiro...then came the knowledge that either the apocalypse was upon them or their chairman had lost it...the loss of Mitsuru's father...it had all been so much to bear. Everything they'd known, everything they'd fought for, was a lie. And just like now, Minato blamed himself for that. Maybe that was just one of the "perks" of being leader.]

[Then Ryoji mysteriously showed up. Minato ignored Aigis' warnings ( another addition to his mistakes ) and spent time with him, mostly at Ryoji's insistence, but...he felt normal again. No, not normal -- happy. Ryoji brought light into his life again. It was like he knew all the right things to say, what would cheer him up on a bad day...but now he understood why. Of course the only person who understood him had once been part of him.]

I came here because I've been feeling lore hungry and I've been wanting to ask this question!

Sooo! I wanted to know, how do Vespasiano and Alessio canonically interact?

We know they're family (Uncle and Nephew) but how do they interact? Does Vespasiano know of Alessio's job? Does he know of Rishen and Talisen? Are they on good terms since Vespasiano has a complicated relationship with Alessio's father? Is Vespasiano only family oriented to his kids or to all his family?

I've been thinking about this since his intro. So hopefully we'll get answers. Ofc tho, if this is exclusive to your guys upcoming book series then that's ok too! Just makes us look more forward to it! Have a good day/evening/night!

also THAANNKKK YOUUU for the lore asks ough we love getting these kinds of asks so so much. we can tell you lots about vespasiano actually. I'll number your questions for simplicity's sake

what is vespasiano and alessio's relationship?vespasiano and alessio are very close. vesp met alessio when he was still a kid, but since valerio ( alessio's dad ) moved from italy to elritea and grew distant from his family, they sort of lost contact. alessio knew he had family in italy but his father would not talk of them. he would only meet vespasiano again in his late 30's when talisen and rishen surprised him with a trip to italy for his birthday ( he's always wanted to go but he's always been so busy with work and such ). alessio reconnects with the rest of his family because coincidentally the town that they go to is his family's home town! his grandmother, alessia, spots him and immediately drags him back to meet the rest of his family. vesp and alessio immediately hit it off because of their personalities. vespasiano is particularly fond of alessio because it's valerio's son ( for context, vespasiano and valerio were VERY close, they were often referred to as twins ). vesp is also the first ever person that alessio saw as a sort of fatherly figure. their interactions are typically marked by humour and fondness. vesp might look at him and see the little kid from way back then, but he also doesn't treat him as such. he's more than happy to share a smoke with him ( even joking about how alessio's cigarette choice is bullshit and he's gonna start mailing him his own brand ), or have long and deep talks with him. also looottts of dark jokes. after their meeting, vespasiano and alessio keep up with each other with calls and visits and whatever they can manage. alessio is arguably closer to vesp than anyone else in his family.

does vespasiano know about alessio's job? he does. as we know, vesp is apart of a special ops unit. during an operation involving elritea ( can't say too much because of spoilers ) he ran into alessio ( who was in his reaper alias ). this was before their remeeting in question one. but vespasiano immediately recognised moves from the reaper that were techniques that only he and his brother valerio created and mastered ( back when val was also in the special ops ). vesp and the reaper actually went toe to toe. vesp actually thought that the reaper was valerio, but he would very quickly discover it is not. ( SPOILERS CAN'T SAY MORE SORRY ) he pieces the puzzle together - and conveniently - the following month is when alessio would visit italy ( in the point above ). during his stay, vesp would confront alessio but assure him that his secret is safe with vesp. he even encourages him to keep doing what he's doing.

does vespasiano know about rishen and talisen? because of the point above and the meeting, yes - vesp knows about tal and rishen! he's quite fond of them too. although rishen does make his mind go blank with his unintentional scientific and nerdy talks. he's very amused that alessio is acquainted with a grim reaper too, as rainel ( the man that is a close friend to his mother and is most definitely romantically involved with her ) is a grim reaper too. so vesp knows allll about them.

are they on good terms even with vespasiano's complicated relationship with alessio's father? they are! vespasiano's strained relationship with valerio stems from valerio's dishonourable discharge from their unit. and a lot more factors. vesp misses his brother dearly but they haven't spoken in years

is vespasiano family orientated with the rest of his family? yes he is! with his brothers, his mother, his many nieces and nephews, in-laws - vespasiano is very close to his family in general! he's just that guy in the family that everyone loves.

Hiii! Is there an aspect of Shinjiro that you found really surprising once you started to know him better? What kind of first impressions did you have of each other?

to be honest, i really didn't expect him to be such a great cook. i had the feeling that he was one of those "stoic and tough on the outside but soft and sweet on the inside" kind of guy, but the fact that he's actually an amazing cook too really surprised me.

as for first impressions...

he didn't think much of me at first. not really as a fighter and not as someone very capable. i'm a crybaby and am not very physically strong, so he wondered at first why i even joined SEES to begin with. but after a while, he saw that i bring other things to the table, like being a strong emotional support system for the team, as well as just being a generally caring person — something he relates to himself, but wishes he could be more open about. (he also absolutely thought i was super cute the first time he saw me, but he would never tell anyone that lolol)

i know i said it before, but my first impression of him was that he was cool and a strong fighter. definitely a badass when it comes to battle. but even from the very beginning, i could tell there was something hiding underneath his tough exterior. and it didn't take me nearly as long to break past the wall he'd put up as i expected it to. he opened up to me a lot faster than i thought he would, but i'm very glad he did ❤

ahhh thank you so much for asking!!!!!

honestly, i couldn't tell you what originally drew my eye to him. i just... liked him. even before i knew anything about him or had even played the game at all. i saw him and just knew that i wanted to get to know him. maybe it was just that i thought he was cute and super cool, but idk... there was just a Vibe, ya know?

after getting to know him more, i just absolutely fell in love with how soft and kind he is underneath the "stoic tough guy" act he puts on. how much he truly cares about his friends and his love for dogs (specifically koromaru) and how he likes to cook and just all the little details about him that he doesn't let others see. he's also just... kind of dorky and corny?? like, he's got a super edgy "bad boy" vibe, but he says all kinds of cheesy one-liners and battle and i just. think that's so cute.

he pretends that he isn't a good guy because he feels guilty and because he thinks that he doesn't deserve to have meaningful relationships, but that only makes me want to shower him with genuine love and care and affection even more. i want to show him that no matter what he's done or what has happened in his past, that he is deserving of love. he's deserving of having friends. he doesn't have to hold onto everything by himself.

i just. ahhhHHHH. love him. so so much.
