Do you have any advice for someone who really wants romantic love? I really want to find a partner but I know I should be single for a while. There’s a part of me that feels more secure or like I don’t have to be worried about the future when I have a partner in my life, and I’m trying to challenge that

it's good and beautiful to want romantic love 🤍 i would first look into what the intention is around being single, ie is it for example a wish to explore yourself without focusing on another, or a belief that you must be perfectly healed to be with another. making sure the decision is coming from a loving place, rather than a self-critical one. i'd explore more specifically what it is that you feel you don't have to worry about when you're in a romantic relationship; is it practical things like finance or housework, or is it something more abstract and general like not having to trust yourself to face the future because you can transfer that trust onto your partner instead. then gently challenging whatever the dynamic may be through encouraging self-talk, one step at a time in terms of actions, and lots of love poured into yourself

I'll give you six.

1 - I'm left-handed.

2 - I broke my left collar-bone when I was 11 once, a clean fracture that, I think, took me a little over a month to recover.

3 - Not that anyone cares or that it's anyone's business, but I indeed am a christian.

4 - While I won't specify where exactly, I live in southeast Iowa. It's acres, cows and gas-stations over here.

5 - I've been all over the country. Arizona, two different islands of Hawaii, California, Texas, Missouri. Not every single state, of course; but I've moved around enough to say that I never really settled down in any of those places. I'm here to stay with Iowa, though.

6 - At the risk of sounding incredibly self-pitying, I never really had friends growing up and even now some people that I'm friendly are just that. I was shy as a kid and, while I'm more out-going now, I've preferred being in my own head, "Lala Land 24/7" as some people say; between that and moving a lot, there wasn't much room to make friends during my childhood. Tumblr has helped me in quite a ways, though, and I'm glad I decided to join this platform and Ao3.
