YES!!! they're both so immediately all-in and thriving in the whole crime found family environment

kinda soft for how at the end of the panamanian monkeys job hardison goes up to harry and says "i need you to help me with something, man" and harry--two episodes into knowing these people, who have not been shy of their opinion of him (at this point, sort of affectionately disdainful?? this isn't a criticism i'm just pointing out they've literally talked about bonking him on the head, wiping his accounts/credit score/whatever, and dumping him in venezuela in front of him lol) and his immediate response--all soft, too--is a completely earnest and sincere "anything, anytime". like. a) i love harry and hardison's interactions SO so so much. i think they're probably my two favorite leverage characters and i also just love every interaction they have, even though it's not a lot. b) harry is SO ride or die SO fast. and like i get it, in many ways--especially in his eyes--they saved him. but like also. he's so funny. he got adopted/stolen by a group of thieves and he rolls with everything SO fast. he's just like yeah okay this happening now! yay! :) dflkjgglkhjh

Re Damien Moreau

Assembly of thoughts because I was drawing him the other day and therefore musing

When they’re in the pool room, Eliot says “I use the same confidentiality with all my clients” - would this annoy Moreau a little bit? Reducing him to just another client? And if so, was Eliot intentionally trying to reclaim a bit of power in the situation?

How did Moreau know Leverage took down Duberman? He didn’t know who Nate was so did he find out by investigating Nate and his crew after fleeing to San Lorenzo? Was he already keeping tabs on Eliot and knew he played a role in that job but not who his crew was until later? Did the guys Eliot beat up mention him if they happened to be clients of Moreau as well as Duberman? Maybe want a hit taken out on Eliot.

I like to think he got himself released in secret and under a fake name thanks to a certain evil lawyer, so he can have a lovely terrifying comeback. And he’s investing heavily in tech geniuses after seeing what Hardison can do.

If it had got to the point where Eliot had to jump in to save Hardison in the pool scene, and we know he was counting down how long he had before that had to be done, would Moreau still buy the ‘escorting the middle man’ story? If Eliot’s job requires keeping the middle man alive, he would have to rescue him anyway, so maybe forcing Eliot to have to do that would just amuse Moreau? Otherwise, Eliot would have to 1) jump in to save Hardison, 2) take out all the bad guys and 3) do all this without Hardison getting shot.

I have come to the decision that I need to read more Leverage fics where Eliot goes on a rampage and just absolutely obliterates a bunch of people for taking/hurting Parker or Hardison. This could mean him slipping back into Murder Eliot mode, ruthless and calculating and efficient no one who gets in his way is left alive or this could mean him going off script; Nate, Sophie and Parker or hardison (whoever wasn't taken ofc) try to make a plan and figure it out but when they finally look up to ask Eliot his input he's just fuckin gone, and they're all like shit fuck Eliot's about to kill people, but Eliot only knocks everybody out and comes back in later with whoever was taken/hurt cradled in his arms and he's just whispering reassurances and comfort to them and maybe he's injured bc he couldn't care less about being hurt he just had to get them back and eventually he'll tend to himself but right now parker/hardison is the priority and besides, he's always had worse and is well equipped to handle a "little" pain (depending on how much you like whump) and just aidbsbsndjxj

ETA some additional afterthoughts:

Archie conditioned Parker, an autistic kid with no innate respect for rules or authorities, to be obedient and deferential to him specifically. Yeah, fuck that dude.

I touched on this a little already, but her energy with Eliot was interesting and matched both 2x09 and 2x12. You know, manic and vaguely horny. In general and directed at Eliot. And that's an ongoing choice. As is not having Eliot really respond to that -- he's there to kick ass and grumble and have her back. It makes the dynamic a fun balance, and from a production standpoint, a delicate one as well. These are two very hot people, so if the scales tipped, it could become distracting and also probably disrupt the group/OT3 balance. At this point, especially.

On the other hand, though, the sexting guy served only one real purpose in this episode: getting slammed into a wall by Eliot so Parker could explain it by calling Eliot her boyfriend. OT3 fodder.

Despite everything, Eliot actually has pretty sensitive skin so whenever he's deep cleaning his apartment or scrubbing dishes or whatever he always has to wear those neon purple elbow-length rubber gloves. If confronted about it, he'll just shrug and mutter something about how if it can kill germs it can also kill skin cells or whatever

Parker has the most unpredictable sleep schedule. Sometimes she'll zonk out the second her head hits the pillow and will be asleep for 12 straight hours, other times she'll go days without sleep and be perfectly fine

Hardison can't wink. He just can't. Every time he tries he ends up blinking. It's a very sore subject for him. He can however wiggle his ears and fold his tongue into a clover

Sophie's gets such a kick out of concept of the 4th of July. Since she's an expat living in the US, the idea of the whole country celebrating kicking her homeland to the curb tickles her. She's always game to go to the fireworks or a parade or whatever, as long as she can do so in relative luxury/disguise because god forbid someone see her there

Nate actually really likes Billboard Hot 100 pop music even if though 100% does not understand it. No one can ever know how much he loves Adele

Harry handles the cold SO badly and he's dramatic about it. The second it drops below 70 he's immediately pulling out gloves and sweatshirts and hats. He probably has poor circulation but that's also what happens when you grow up in Louisiana
