The exact reasoning for how they ended in this predicament is lost in her recollection, unrememberable as a new feeling of passion clouds her thoughts. She looked up at him bravely from under her lashes, eyes shifting back from one eye to another and then to his lips. She never once denied that her superior was attractive. She would be a fool if she didn’t notice his attractive features but never had she paid attention so closely to the emotions brewing under that consideration of his features. It was lust, surely, but something in her told her it was much, much more than that. It was normal for a to-be wife to feel love, attraction, and lust for her destined husband, the widow would know this extremely well, but as most things went in her life: this marriage was intricate. Andre was one of the redcoats she could stand, and even could see herself being friends with him if the war wasn’t at their doorstep, but surely it would endanger her mission as a spy if she grew any other affections than just respect for him.

      This is why she bit down on her tongue to pull her thoughts away from the man in front of her. His unwavering gaze might be settled on her, his grip might be tight and tempting, and the space between them was limited. He couldn’t be easily ignored, not when she felt the stirring of passion within her, but she couldn’t put any more risks onto her real responsibility here. 

      But wouldn’t giving in to her temptations only enhance her act? They were going to be married soon if Lydia couldn’t find another reason to prolong their engagement; the belief of sex only being after marriage was seemingly thrown out with the real possibility of her being found out as a spy. Though she never saw John as the pushy type, it would be only natural for her to toy with his lust if she wanted to keep him from suspecting anything.

      Lydia placed a finger under his chin and lifted his head up slightly, a small smirk on her face. ❝ Is there something you wanted, Major? ❞

​I’m doing both because I love both of these dynamics with my whole heart

ANDRE:

- name: Mercy Clarity Andre (Lydia was stuck between both names so she decided to put one as a middle name instead. It’s a mouthful but Lydia likes the slight rhyme to it.)

- likes / dislikes: She likes drawing, being able to figure out a way to unlock a door (much to everyone’s annoyance), tinkering with inventions, dancing, & the piano (though she has a better musical skill than her father). She dislikes arguing, a pessimistic outlook, pollen (she has allergies), & any time that’s not winter (she likes the cold and ice skating).

- first word: “Why?” was sort of out of the blue and it fits her curious nature.

- appearance: Dark hair, fair-skinned, and has a birthmark by her lip, on her neck, and shoulder.

- which parent they look more like: I think a good balance of both? She does look slightly more like Andre.

- which parent they like more: Andre. She’s around both a lot, but she really took to Andre ever since a baby. She would cry and scream if she was away from him for a minute.

- height once fully grown: 5’6

- job ambition: With Andre’s money, she wouldn’t need to work but I think would much prefer if she would be able to make a separate income (if need be) from her husband. She really wants to be an inventor in some way.

- name: Josiah Augustus Simcoe

- likes / dislikes: He likes hunting with his father, telling stories (a little bit exaggerated), making his parents proud, likes everything tidy and organized. Dislikes disorganization, drunks, loud people, plays, politics, failure or messing up, and cooking.- first word: “Up.” He will deny this to the fullest extent but as a baby, he loved being held in the arms of his parent(s).

- appearance: Ginger hair with a slight curl in it, fair-skinned, and dark-colored blue eyes.

- which parent they look more like: Simcoe definitely. But I think his face and eye shape is more like Lydia’s.

- which parent they like more: He likes both but I think he and Simcoe have a special bond that nothing can touch.

- height once fully grown: 6’0 (Sorry bud but your dad is taller than you)

- job ambition: It took him a lot while to really settle on something because he has a wide range of hobbies, he hunts in his past time for some extra cash, but I think he joins the army for a while and then makes furniture for a living afterward.
