I hate the takes that try to amount to Luke being less "humane", "kind" or "loving" towards other demigods than Percy ngl. Because they all just completly negelect the fact that the main motivation Luke had for what he did, the reason he stated at the very beginning for his acts, is an ultimatly altruistic love for demigod kind.
Now did the guy do some fucked shit? Deffos. But that doesn't change that first and foremost, his goal was a "Golden Age for Demigods." Not glory and power for himself, but prosperity for everyone.
Hell we can see even before his turn to Kronos how kind he was! I mean, he pretty much immideatly took in Annabeth as we can see in the Diary of Luke Castellan. And he must have earned himself the reputation he had in camp pre-betrayal somehow, and considering how he only joined Kronos shortly before kicking off Zeus' Master Bolt that must have come from his genuine personality.
Like....I think it's just so tragic that Luke's own humanity is ripped from him time and time again.

I know the discourse well is poisoned and no one hates bioware games more than bioware fans, but I am just 🫠 having so much fun with veilguard it's unreal. It is selfishly the dragon age game I always wanted. with less emphasis on cRPG, a more focused story, curated mission based design that spotlights the high fantasy stuff, slowburn structure with companions, significantly less sidequest bloat, and a fully real-time action-oriented combat system that isn't riddled with the growing pains of previous titles. when I first played origins I imagined something almost exactly like this as my ideal version of a sequel; and it was one of those dirty, selfish thoughts that I knew was disrespectful to the then-established DNA of the thing, but I can't help but feel giddy about having it here and now. like down to the shift away from the childishly dark tone and to something more inherently flexible with a baseline aspirational quality. I hate aesthetically depressing games so much. am I not alive right here and right now already
When I say "aesthetically" there though I do mean it. I'm fully on the opposite side when it comes to tone and positions expressed in the story itself. I am just not including that in my analysis because I am not done yet - so please no spoilers! I think I am where most people consider to be the second act, and I definitely have my gripes with the narrative framework and some of the optics, but I won't put the cart before the horse and will see how it wraps things up first. Above that level, in terms of how it presents itself, of how it plays, of how it balances its core pillars - it is such a bioware-ass game and I could not be any cozier in it. So grateful it exists
#and thank god for that reboot away from live service horseshit they were pushing. this is the most offline ass game in ages. bless#anyway no one is allowed to reblog this because people here aren't normal and I am afraid of spoilers#but I cant pretend not to adore every second of Beef Hilda Mercar and her adventures as a shadow dragon reaper#I have her fully invested in shield throws. that shit couldnt bounce better if zagreus was tossing it#also everyone is so pretty 🫠 this is the first time for me in a bioware game where like#purely aesthetically. i feel targeted and manipulated. these people feel designed around my tastes it's so embarassing#text#dragon age#okay I gotta mention one more thing. it is a very specific ass peeve I have#their dialogue system has never felt as.. nimble in their frostbite titles. something about the constant fades in and out and click delays#it all feels insecure on the engine-end side to me. maybe I am dumb. but veilguard also has this issue#like the original 2 DAs and the unreal engine mass effects had such snappy and frictionless selection-to-dialogue feel#and their frostbite titles I swear to god some greare is missing in the wheels there. here too. it is a LITTLE annoying since this is like#my favorite part of engaging with their games. it's not a huge issue but I have grown keenly attuned to it#inquisition had horribly bad delays in response selection. andromeda had those godawful delays in starting and ending convos#and those things are still somewhat present here albeit to a lesser degree. it feels like a streaming thing#idk. I do not make games. but I think that shit needs to feel smoother

setting: their special bookstore, somewhere in muggle london featuring: ted tonks & andromeda black @enchantmecnts
Bookstore. 1:27pm
If it hadn’t been written in Ted’s messy script, then it very well could have been mistaken for an owl sent by Andromeda. Her notes were always like that, so vague and yet so direct. More often than not it would send Ted into a tailspin of questions. Even after all this time, he did not always get Andromeda, but this did not hinder things in any way. She was a puzzle that he was so eager to solve, he was resolute to spend the rest of his life trying to figure her out. He’d felt so strongly for a long while now, practically from the beginning when she as a Slytherin student had appeared in the Gryffindor common room to return the book she had stolen from him.
It was such an innocent beginning. Looking back Ted wasn’t sure if he knew exactly what he had been signing up for that day when Andromeda Black returned the copy of Pride and Prejudice his mother had sent him. The years that would follow, half blissful and half difficult. What more could be said of a relationship shrouded in secrecy? For years now that was what their normal was. Subtle glances, decoded owls, stolen moments whenever they could actually be together. Such was the lot drawn when you were a muggleborn so deeply in love with a pureblood heiress. Theirs was a great love, but it was not one that could be had out in the stark sunlight.
And so Ted did what was asked of him; he kept their relationship a secret. He kept it so close to his heart, nobody in his life even knew he was involved with someone. Not even his closest friends, though he would argue that Andromeda was his closest friend. She knew him better than anyone, and between them he held no secrets. He had been an open book to her since the very first day they met, and he would continue to be so for as long as she kept him in her life.
Of course, it had hurt him at times to be so tight lipped about it. Nobody loved feeling like a shameful secret, but the choice was made as much for their privacy as for their safety. After recent events, it had become more clear why they chose this clandestine way of enacting their romance. There was a growing sentiment against people like him. Against muggleborns. Andromeda’s family were blood purists, if they were to know that they were together… Ted didn’t want to think about what would happen. And after Francesca Fudge, a pureblood witch, was found dead, her blood used to scrawl a horrible thing against the walls of the new ward at St. Mungo’s… he didn’t want to risk things being known. Not for his own safety, but for Andromeda. If the girl’s death had told him anything, it was that nobody was truly safe. Not even those in pureblood society. Which meant now more than ever, neither of them was safe. And if anything happened to Andromeda… Ted felt sick just thinking about it. Hard as it was, this had to remain as it always had been: a well guarded secret just between the two of them.
Unsurprising to him (though it still stung deep within), Andromeda was growing reticent. Withdrawn. Distant. However you sliced it, the point was simple: she was pulling away, and it had only served to confuse him. This had happened before — she would have to face something and she chose to do it alone, leaving him with a vague note and no idea where they stood. And before he would let it slide, but Ted wasn’t sure he could this time around. If things were getting worse, he couldn’t sit by and wait for her to feel safe to be with him. He would have to create the space for them to be safe. And in a way there was an area that had always been comforting for them. So that was why he quickly scrawled the owl, sending it off and keeping a careful eye on his watch. He wasn’t working that afternoon, so he had plenty of time to see her. And he would have several days in a row without pause, so he needed to do it now. While things were still raw, still weighing heavy on their minds.
When the time drew closer — the ridiculous time he quoted on the owl, in the way that Andie had done when she wanted to meet with him anywhere — he was quick to leave, apparating into a laneway by the muggle bookstore he knew was safe to arrive at, and never watched. Walking into the bookstore, he kept minimal eye contact with the sole shopkeeper as he made his way through the unoccupied stacks, to the one section he knew she would frequent. If he knew but one thing about Andromeda Black, it was this: she enjoyed her classic muggle novels, to the point where she spent much of their relationship stealing them from him until his mother began sending them explicitly for her. Having arrived before her, he was quick to find a particular book on the shelf, thumbing to the page with the exact quote he’d thought of and putting a post it note on there, pointing it out, before he placed the book back — the spine jutting out just an inch or so further from the others so it would stand out. Then he slipped into the next aisle to look as though he were browsing, waiting patiently for her to show up.
When she finally did show up, Ted had his nose stuck in a book on the opposite wall, his back to the section he had left the book for her to discover. He didn’t need to look up to see her. While the rest of the world revolved around the Sun, Ted’s world had revolved around the constellation of stars that made up the Andromeda Black. He could feel her whenever she was around, would know if she was near even if he was blind. He just naturally gravitated toward her, and had to fight the urge to turn around and pull her into the circle of his arms. No, they couldn’t, not even when alone in a muggle bookstore. He still wasn’t entirely used to this. He suspected he never would be. Swallowing against the thickness in his own throat, he cleared it to try and catch her attention without turning around. “Brontë,” he said, voice low but loud enough to be heard by her behind him. Ted waited, what he assumed was an appropriate time, for her to grab the book in question and find the page he marked. Sucking in a breath through his nose, he closed his eyes and spoke, still quiet and intimate but just loud enough that she could hear him.
“‘He is more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same. If all else perished and he remained, I should still continue to be, and if all else remained, and he were annihilated, the universe would turn into a mighty stranger.’” He was quiet a moment before continuing, “I’m not the best at analyzing these passages. In fact, I may have it all wrong, but… I think about that bit a lot. About the souls? ‘Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.’ The notion of it…” Ted paused and swallowed. “We live in a world that doesn’t want us to think we’re alike, that we belong within it together. I think that much was said the other night… But you know what? I really don’t care what anyone else thinks. Pureblood, muggleborn. I don’t think it matters much. When I think about you and me, I don’t see us being so different at all. In fact, I think of those words. ‘Whatever our souls are made of’ … I think that your soul and mine are very much the same, if not just two halves of the same singular soul.”
He was quiet a moment, letting the words sit in the air between them before concluding. “Anyway, that’s all I wanted to say. I know things are strange right now, and more than that I know you. I know how you can get. If you need some space, I get it. Just… I need you to know where I stand. They can do these demonstrations a hundred times over, Dromeda. It doesn’t make a difference. You and me… We’re made up of the same stuff. And I don’t think that I can make it in this hellish world without you. So if you need to distance yourself, if you think pulling away is the only way to keep us safe… Okay, I’ll bear it. Just promise it’s not forever. Promise to come back. Or let’s try something different this time. Let me weather this with you. Let’s bear it together.”

"¿Y eso?" Cuestionó con curiosidad. A la muchacha no le gustaban mucho los dulces vinculados con Halloween, pero no los odiaba. Simplemente no los comía. Igualmente, con el poco dinero que ahora poseía, le venía bastante bien no quererlos. "Simplemente puedes atiborrarte de caramelos como yo." Eran lo mejor de estas fechas.

soni gets along well with gil for both being mechanically-inclined, yes, but also their similar methods of winging things that annoy kallo, and of course the lesbian-gay solidarity. and most importantly, their collectively decided rules of nomad operation that get permanently posted in the crew messages.

"This is a really strange question but why are you wearing a pink bracelet?" Tristan asked the woman next to him as he sipped some of his drink, "I'm not um... I'm not trying to hit on you or anything. The person I like is also wearing one and I... I don't know what it means."

Trilogy Appreciation Week, Day 1: Family
So since I don't know if I'll get a fanfic out by the end of the week (aiming for releasing something for day 4: Home, but we'll see), I'll write some random ideas down here!
For Day 1, a list of family members that would have been fun to see on the Normandy:
Ashley's younger sister that can use a sword. I can't remember which one it was (I think Abby but forgot to save the convo). But just imagine if she was there during 3 and could absolutely destroy Kai Leng at his own game.
Kaidan's mom. Because Chakwas can't be the only ship mom, she needs help sometimes.
Solana Vakarian. We need Garrus to lovingly get bullied by his sister. And for him to lovingly bully her back. Seriously, this series has a severe lack of sibling shenanigans, even Andromeda disappoints despite the Ryder twins both existing at the same time.
Aethyta, because just imagine the absolute chaos that would ensue. Also I think Liara should get to spend time with her dad. It might mitigate some of my issues with her writing in 3 actually, giving Liara time that's not connected to Shepard.
Kolyat Krios! I wish he had joined the Normandy after Thane's death. Imagine the conversations we could have with him, learning about the drell from another perspective and getting to share fond memories about Thane.
Falere- seriously, this is the biggest missed opportunity. I'm not sure how to overcome the whole Justicar Code thing, but just imagine if it happened! We could see the perspective of an actual Ardat-Yakshi, one that isn't proud of what she is and does just want to live in peace!
Bonus: Hannah Shepard. I don't think having her as a permanent member of the Normandy would work out (and would deprive non Spacer Sheps of content), but I wish we had gotten to see her in person. Like, imagine if she came to visit for a bit in 2 or 3!

After a beat, Mary’s quiet laughter had joined Andromeda’s and she couldn’t help but smile at the long forgotten memory of childlike laughter and what true peace had felt like, in a time before magic tainted her view on the world. “Do you suppose there are any creatures that could beat a hippogriff in these hypothetical scenarios? Surely they’re not that overpowered,” She sips on her own drink while deep in thought, before opening her mouth to pipe up, “what about the giant squid?”
Tumblr media
Andromeda laughed as the other explained that her father had done the same. It was one of her favorite things in the world, to watch Ted with Dora. It healed a part of her that had felt broken when she had been cut off from her family. “They are extraordinary creatures that is for sure.” She agreed, taking another drink from her glass. She laughed as she was asked another question and she shook her head. “I think the argument would still stand, don’t you? Giants while large and formidable, I think the hippogriff still has the upper hand.”

ughhh man i do love mass effect but this is yet another Post about how Andromeda made me forget how god damn heterosexual and Normie this setting is about gender.
like my vague recollection had been that 3 was when ME finally got female salarians and krogans and turians and i had expected them to be like... around.
but nope there is one (1) chick Salarian and one (1) female krogan and the latter is introduced with a whole convo with Wrex and everyone else about how oh nah female Krogan are completely different to male krogann silly! sure we think krogan like war and being badass but that's just the boys! girls like talking and peace and babies! wimmin amirite?
bc god forbid literally anything about an alien take on gender not be exactly like a human 80s standup routine
lol and then eve is all "we'll show the boys who's right, right shepherd?" as if my femshep wasn't more like male krogans than she is

hey👋 1, 12, and 13 for the music ask game!👀
hi! you're new here, so let's just get this out of the way first: can i call you liva? i like giving nicknames to my followers / moots and making special tags for them if there's a lot from them.
anyways! hi! thank you for the ask. let's see...
1. a song you liked as a child
everyone on my blog knows i'm a yambler. so not only are you getting direct answers, but the stories behind them.
ANYHOW with that disclaimer out of the way, fun fact: i've been reviving my old devices recently, so i actually got to look through my old playlists and listen to them. here's a list of some of the songs i found on them:
whistle by flo rida (I WAS EIGHT. NO BUSINESS LISTENING TO THIS AND HAVING IT MEMORIZED. i listened to it so much, i realized it wasn't about kissing 💀)
bottom's up by treyz song ft nicki minaj (ALSO HAD NO BUSINESS LISTENING TO THIS BRUH. i still have the entire song memorized, including nicki's verse ayyyy)
man aamadh am (because i'm a brown girlie what can i say)
coming home by dirty money and skylar grey
dog days are over by florence and the machine
12. a song from the 90s
I GOTCHU
time by pink floyd (lowkey, just the entire album, but time especially mwah) NEVERMIND THIS IS 1973 okay fine i'm still keeping it on the list tho idgaf >:(
jump by kris kross (1992, i had to double check lmao anyways A WHOLE BOP I CAN'T HELP BUT DANCE WHEN I HEAR IT. the one year of hip hop dance classes pop out ayy)
people are strange by the doors (this is 1967, but at this point, i'm taking the prompt "the 90s" as anything before the 2000s 👾👾)
one of these nights by the eagles (1975. WHATEVER.)
come and get your love by redbone (1974. >:( leave me alone. it's a whole bop)
you know how we do it by ice cube (1993. FINALLY. A 90s SONG LMAO. anyways, cue this up directly after jump and then put hypnotize by the notorious B.I.G. on. hell yeah)
okay... so those weren't exactly 90's songs. whatever. shhhh. semantics.
13. a song by a performer you've seen live
this is actually fun, because i have a story behind it. so fun fact, if you guys didn't know this about me, i work security (lol) so i've worked concerts before. but this was just a regular bar karaoke night, and they had a small band open the night. i actually enjoyed the song they played so much, i added it to my liked songs, and recently added it to my summer 2025 playlist because it's so mwah. i'll link it down below, because i ended up talking to the band afterwards, had a convo with them, and then went down their discography. anyways, that was the same night that someone super perisistent kept trying to get me to sit with them at the bar and have a drink and i was like ??? dawg im working no.
security is so fun :D anyways, here's the song:
thanks for the ask!

Funkytown
Inspired by a convo with @celestemagnoliathewriter (and thank you to @rawr-gorg-smash for the suggestion of Ted whistling Funkytown when he met Remus).
--
'THAT'S what Funkytown means?'
Ted would have laughed if his daughter's face wasn't so horrified.
'Well, we couldn't exactly say we wanted to f-'
'Dad!'
'You were very small, Dora, and we needed to communicate somehow.' Andromeda said, calmly.
But Dora's horrified look only increased, 'Every day. Every day you would say you were going to–' she cut off, and Ted genuinely thought she might be sick at the thought of her parents sex lives.
'We were young, and your father was very handsome back then. He was hard to resist.'
'Mum!'
'I didn't hear any complaints last night,' Ted said under his breath, enjoying the pink flush of Andromeda's cheeks.
'Gross,' Dora said with a disgusted look at her parents as she walked out dramatically (though the effect was slightly ruined when she banged her shoulder on the doorframe).
'Be grateful!' Ted called after her. 'Some kids have parents who never show affection!'
'Why can't you be normal?!' she shouted back.
Years later, when Dora brought Remus Lupin home to announce their engagement, and the tension in the room was almost too much to bear, Ted couldn't help whistling the tune of Funkytown as he poured drinks for them all.
'DAD!'

Hi hi! Saw your stuff on Wattpad! (My account is paradoxicalnature btw :3)
Noice to meet ya, did this bc I never properly introduced myself--I'm Andromeda, but call me Meg! (My user here is the same as my discord, welcome for anyone to msg :3)
SAW YOUR ART TOO ITS REALLY GOOD
Have a nice day, just wanted to do this :)
IR EMEBER YOU YEAH I DO
Nice ta meetchu Meg!
AWW THANKYU
Ha, thanks. I' like- chronically bad at staying online. I'm always posting or I'm radio silent. Tumblr is one of those places I can't feel safe to express myself in. Even if I'm respectful about things I disagree with, with the "Christan" label its hard to make friends sometimes..
But I'm glad there's so many people here I can meet and talk to! I'm so happy you reached out! And I'll set a reminder to check this everyday if you wanna have some short convos or want me to see something. (Just gimme a minute if you want me to see something, I get shy lol)
You have the bestest day too! Kay?

To piggyback on our convo. The marauders would totally make a boy band. Peter would get kicked out for one reason or another to be replaced by Ted!!!
TED! Ted doesn’t get enough love. Like him and Andromeda are so fucking adorable. I love the thought that if everyone would have lived a normal life, Ted would have made it into their group through Sirius. Like Ted and Andy would have always come around for Sirius. And you know James. He would have been like, “uh, hello, Sirius’ family is MY family so where’s my bloody invite, Andy?!?” And they’d just be one big happy family.

Popular myths and legends suggested that vampires were super fast and super strong. Jae cursed the fact that reality was a far cry from this. With a grunt, they hoisted their guitar case onto their right shoulder, after having carried on the left for some time. They had just left a gig at a small open mic night, ditching post drinks with their band mates since they would have to be up early at the studio in Hogsmeade for work. For the first time since they started at the Wizarding Wireless Network, Jae would be working a morning show, which was a nice change of pace for their typically nocturnal work hours. But getting up at dawn rather than closing shop made it feel less and less glamorous.
They were walking towards the apparition point, planning to disaparate and head back to Godric’s Hollow for the night, but wanting to linger and bask in the post-show adrenaline, Jae took a roundabout route through Diagon Alley, not noticing that his pace was in time with the only other person in the street at that time. When she whirled around on them, the vampire actually jumped, nearly dropping the case. “Bloody hell,” they gasped, hand over their frantically beating heart. “Why’d you have to go on and scare me like that?” They must have looked a sight — in a royal blue velour jumpsuit with a bright red belt tight around the waist, a deep v neck accentuated with a ruffly Victorian shirt beneath, glittery make up that was slightly smudged from sweat and their own habit of touching their face during after show conversations. They were all done up in their show look, a drastic change from their usual clothes. “I’m not following you, we’re just going in the same direction,” Jae said. “Promise.”

location : diagon valley status : open
the day had faded into a quieter night, and the cobbled streets of diagon alley seemed darker than usual. ever since she'd left home, paranoia had followed her—along with arrogance, the lingering belief that she still mattered, that she hadn’t been entirely forgotten. with her hands buried deep in the pockets of her cloak, steady steps accompanied her, ignoring the flicker in the glass of a shop window, the sound of footsteps falling into rhythm with her own as she tried not to fall back into old patterns of mistrust. and yet, her fingers twitched towards her wand, allowing her figure to be swallowed by the shadows when she turned precisely into an alley, spinning on her heel, wand raised .  “ why are you following me ? ” her voice was sharp, cutting through the air in a way that once felt more familiar than it should have.
