who: @beauaustinsinclair where: SOS clubhouse
She was drunk. It didn't happen much anymore, drinking such an everyday part of her life that her liver could give Arnold Schwarzenegger a run for his money. But some nights, like tonight, she made it earn it's keep, that was for damn sure. Eyes drifted around the clubhouse, taking in faces both familiar and unknown, or a few who were somewhere in between. Like Beau, he was Devon's nephew, secretary of the Tonopah chapter of the Sons, and yet, she felt like she barely knew anything about him. Normally, that shit wouldn't bother her, nor would she take any actions to rectify it. But the liquor in her system made her think otherwise. "So tell me, Beau, Beaufort, Beauson, what exactly does a secretary do?" she asked as she sidled up to the bar, "Like, do you schedule stuff, make sure everyone gets to church? Coordinate everyone to make sure you're all rippin' off the same bank or some such?"

Sixteen Handles with Beau Sinclair @beauaustinsinclair
With the heat on the rise she'd swung in for an ice cream on a whim, waiting patiently in the queue and absentmindedly scrolling to kill time. A voice near the front of the line loudly declared someone else to be a liar and her attention switched from her phone to the scene unfolding in front of her, eyes widening as the argument grew in pitch and intensity. Brows raised she shared a glance with the man next to her, expression turning incredulous as the woman smashed her newly purchased ice cream into the mans face before storming out, the man running after her still shouting. The blonde brought a hand up to her mouth to help stifle a laugh at the ridiculousness of it all. "I guess that's what you get for trying to cone your girlfriend - she'll return the favour." Voice was hushed, not quite knowing how her poor puns would go down and she worked to keep a smile from her face though it was undoubtedly a losing battle. "Do you think it'll be a rocky road to reconciliation? Personally I think they should take inspiration from a banana and split."

The Outpost with Beau Sinclair @beauaustinsinclair
Family dinner had become a staple since she'd moved back to town, never able to say no to her father or siblings when it came to spending time together. She had years of making up to do, after all. But despite the enjoyable evening, after a few drinks the last thing she wanted to do was return to her home to sit in silence. Her own company was something she'd grown more at ease with but there were nights she felt her mind would wander into dangerous territory. There was one person who'd sprung to mind and Ava headed to The Outpost in search of a light-hearted atmosphere and company that would be the perfect distraction. Little wave was given to Beau as she hopped up onto a seat at the bar to wait her turn. When it finally rolled around she didn't place an order but instead reached for a bad joke on the off-chance it would make him laugh. "So, do you come here often?" But for all the playful tone and the smile that briefly rested on her lips, her nose wrinkled almost immediately after she'd finished speaking, regretting her choice of words. "Ugh." Head shook in distaste of her own lack of originality, her way with words seemingly deserting her, before doe eyes looked at her friend pleadingly. "Can we pretend I said something wittier? Please? Or at least less of a cliché?"

Beau knew Cole was right. The problem was that knowing that was what he needed to do and getting himself to do it were two different things entirely, one far easier to accept than the other. With Isla and Devon both back in town, the need to keep the family together felt more important than ever before, so putting himself first felt like the wrong move.
"Yeah, maybe," he finally said, the response good for both subjects. Maybe he would have to resign himself to the fact he'd never understand what happened between the two of them; maybe he'd go to his grave never knowing how to set things right with Logan. It wasn't the answer he wanted to hear, but deep down, he was grateful for Cole saying it. Rubbing his hand over his face to swipe away any remnants of the tear streaks on his cheeks, he took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. "Thanks for letting me get that out. You cool if I call it a day? I don't know if I can get my head back into work mode right now."

Beau nodded, pursing his lips. Cole carried the weight of the world on his shoulders, and when it came to the club, he took on the responsibility of everything that happened, both good and bad. Still having no answers after nearly a year meant they still had no chance at exacting their own form of justice. "Let me know if there's something I can do to help. This isn't all on you, and you know I'm good at looking deep in records," he replied with a soft chuckle, referencing his work with Riley to uncover Paul Slinger's corruption. He finally ripped into his Poptart, chewing as he spoke. "I'll get working on the memorial. Let me know if you need anything else; I'll be in my office."

Chuckling softly as he reached for his drink, the biker nodded, “Damn right, he would,” have to fight Cole for time, that was. While he certainly didn’t consider himself a rodeo man, Cole never turned down the opportunity to hop on a mechanical bull, especially after he’d been drinking. Glancing across at Beau, he offered up a small smile, pleased to hear that business was picking up. After the last few months, all Cole wanted was just one trace of normalcy, and seeing an ass on every barstool in this place was a prime example of it. “Glad to hear it. Keep hopin’ we’re all about to catch a break, y’know?” Still, he figured that was wishful thinking. The murders were still unsolved, there still weren’t any strong leads– of course this wasn’t over. But he’d settle for a slowdown. “Cautious optimism, I guess,” he murmured into the rim of his drink, shoulders shrugging. Lifting a brow at Beau’s question, he nodded, “I’m fine,” Cole supplied, one corner of his mouth lifting in a brief, yet genuine smile, “‘ppreciate ya lookin’ out though.” Between sticking around at the clubhouse and leaving water out for him, Cole had known that Beau was looking out for him. Those small gestures certainly hadn’t gone unnoticed. “He’s better,” he started, thoughts drifting towards his brother and his slow, yet steady recovery, “One day at a time kinda thing, y’know?”
Beau grabbed a glass and the bottle, pouring it out for the other man without looking as he laughed, nodding. "I've thought about it, but I'm worried if I did that Theo would never get any work done because he'd be too busy trying to beat it, though I guess he'd have to fight you for time on it," he explained, sliding the drink over and setting the bottle back on the rack. "Yeah, it is. Not sure why everyone chose here tonight, but my bottom line's sure not complaining. It's been a little slow with everything going on, so it's good having things back to normal." He grabbed another glass, pouring some water in it for himself and taking a sip. "Since you're here, I'm guessing you're doing a little better than you have been lately?" He was sure Cole noticed Beau had been lingering some more lately at the clubhouse, if for no other reason than to leave out water on Cole's desk or the counter for him before Beau would head out for the night. It was a small gesture, but it was his way of taking care of the man without pressing him to talk about it when everyone else probably had been. "How's your brother?"

"Not with that attitude you don't." She scoffed into her drink, "Fuck that 'if you love them let them go' bullshit. If you love 'em, fight for them, don't pussy out. Even if she says no, then at least you're not livin' with what ifs. That shit'll kill you like a cancer. And next thing you know you'll end up like me. Bitchy, bitter, beautiful."
Beau couldn't help the snort of laughter at the fictional first name she pulled out of nowhere for him, though the smile faltered ever so slightly at her next comment, the wink all but solidifying that he hadn't been nearly as careful as he'd tried to be over the years of making sure his feelings for his ex hadn't been obvious to everyone. "Well, only one of us doesn't have any luck of changing that outcome," he remarked with a shake of his head, setting aside the glass he'd been cleaning. "She's with Mal now, so... trying to be a good sport about it as long as she's happy. Pretty sure uncle Dev's been single most of his life."

"Honestly, too true. I know you all are a criminal organization, but would hiring a cleaning crew kill you? Just hide all the drugs and guns," she waved her hand as if it were simple as that. "Beaumont--" again, she had no clue if that was even his full name "--Sinclair, you're...A little shit. I hope you know that." She really couldn't think of anything better, nor could she really defend herself, that son of a bitch had hit her nail right on the head. "But seein' as we're practically in the same boat, I'll give you a pass this once." Nellie had seen the way he looked at that Donovan girl, and a drunken wink was given in an attempt o let him know that she knew, regardless of how unclear she was being.
"You want the clubhouse to smell even more like shit than it does on a daily basis? Think we got that covered on our own." Beau laughed, quietly hoping the idea hadn't been suggested to Theo so he wouldn't get any new ideas. Having to return Ralph to the Tonopah Zoo was a big enough ordeal in itself. Beau raised a brow at the mention of his uncle, curiosity piqued. "You don't have to pick a fight to get him to do that, y'know. Could just give him a call and say you need a ride home," he offered, watching her carefully. "Unless that's coming too close to admitting you like the guy and want to spend time with him."

"Branch out a bit, get a donkey, I heard they're loyal as dogs. Make it the club's mascot." She was really gone now, any attempt at wit having left with the last drink, "Then I can call you guys a bunch of asses and it won't even be mean," she pouted as if she were begging. "I think I should start one, then you can call your uncle to come pick me up," Eyebrows were waggled suggestively. "S'too late too leave now, I'm in too deep, missed the littles too much."
"Yeah, probably. We'll just get like a couple of dogs or cats, depending on what Will wants, of course. I aim to please." He chuckled, shaking his head. "Well, as long as you don't start one here, I think we'll be good. Glad to hear the job's going well. Means you're getting settled in town more too, right? Think you're gonna stay for a while?"

Nellie noted the face and she couldn't help but laugh, "Oh, baby boy,". She knew some saw the sirens as unsavory, but as long as they weren't being forced to be there, she saw nothing wrong with it. They were all there looking for something. "Oh, you two must make the cutest parents. Y'all gonna have empty nest syndrome when he eventually leaves the nest at 40?" She gave a snort in return, the image she was conjuring in her mind too funny not to. "Nate's got good security, so no one yet, but here's hoping," she raised her glass before finishing it off. "It's been awhile since I've had a good bar fight," she said as she raised her arms above her in a clumsy stretch, starting to feel the affects of her many drinks even more now.
Beau scrunched his face at the mention of the sirens. Though he certainly found many of them attractive, he'd never actually taken advantage of the fact they'd sleep with any of the members who wanted it. It was one of the only things he would change about how the clubhouse was run if he could. "I do, but Will and I co-parent, so it's not all on my shoulders at least," Beau snorted. He had heard that Nellie had started working with Nate over at the gentleman's club and nodded as he listened to her explain. "I bet there's never really a dull moment over there. You get a chance to knock some sense into anyone yet? I'm sure you're just dying for the chance."

Cole nodded, able to see how a lot of Beau’s father’s responsibilities would have shifted onto Beau’s shoulders after his death, as well as how overwhelming that new role could be. In a lot of ways, Cole understood. His own tendency was to bury whatever thoughts and emotions he needed to process underneath a mound of responsibilities, and so in the end? He just didn’t ever reconcile with them. “Think ya owe it to yourself to get right with it,” Cole supplied, though he felt like such a hypocrite in doing so because he couldn’t even take that advice himself. “‘m sure your family would understand if ya needed to take a minute.” He did understand Beau’s reluctance though. If he focused on himself, it’d feel like less attention on those he felt responsible for, and even though Cole knew that wouldn’t be the case for Beau, it was easy enough for the mind to play tricks like that.
Frowning gently as Beau continued, he reached for his pack of smokes and set one of the Marlboro Reds between his lips. Lighting it, he glanced down at his desk, blue eyes fixating on a pockmark in the aged wood rather than meeting Beau’s gaze while he described a feeling similar to what Cole had experienced with Cassie. “I get it…that need to know just so ya can close the book and move on,” he murmured, exhaling a thick plume of smoke off to the side. Lack of closure was enough to drive anyone mad. “But maybe why ain’t always for any of us to know,” he offered, knowing it didn’t exactly help seal the wound shut, but some weren’t meant to be. He himself had far more open doors in his rearview mirror than shut ones, and that reality stung, but it couldn’t change.
It was clear that he hadn't been very clear with his original question by the look on Cole's face and he sighed, thinking of how to reword his jumbled thoughts. "Dad would want me to take care of the family since he's not around to do it anymore," he started with a shake of his head, glancing away, "but I've been so busy taking care of them and putting them first that I haven't really done what I needed to... feel this." The grief, the loss, the loneliness. "And I don't even know where to start without letting someone else down."
Where was it coming from? "It's always been there," he murmured, glancing back over at Cole, though he felt ashamed to admit that he was hanging onto a relationship that had ended so long ago. "There was never really closure between us. I thought we were fine, then she broke things off. I'd bought a ring, and--" He cut himself off, letting out a sigh and looking down at his clasped hands in his lap. He'd never told anyone outside of his parents about his plans to propose to Logan all those years ago, so letting the news out now felt like an old wound reopening. "If I knew why, then maybe it'd be easier to move on."

"I'm sure with all the pussy the sirens throw at you, your ego will somehow survive." She responded with a snort over the rim of her glass as she brought it up to her lips to finish it off. "That kid's a fuckin' pill, you have your work cut out for you, that's for damn sure." She had only met him a couple of times, but he was something else. "---I'd say I understand, because I'm a bit of a babysitter myself now, but, fuck, I love the busy nights when it's all chaos and thongs and glitter and cussin'."
Beau placed his hand on his chest where his heart would be, grunting in pain. "You wound me, Nell," he remarked with a melodramatic sigh, though it was quickly replaced by a chuckle. "Yeah, sometimes I feel like a babysitter, especially when it comes to Theo, but I enjoy it. Something about making sure everything's in running order that helps me get out of my head for a while."

Excitement had sparked in her eyes the moment that he'd begun to entertain her puns, growing into enjoyment as he indulged her by joining in. Their attempts at subtlety was quickly ruined by the laughter that bubbled up, hand brought up to her mouth in a belated attempt to hide it. Quick glance was cast outside, relieved to see that the couple had moved on. "It looks like they've gone somewhere else to chill out. Wonder if they'll realise that they're really nuts for each other or they'll top it all off with a break up." Grin was on her features, unable to resist throwing in a few more references into her curious ramble. "No but it's almost so bad it's good. But I'm cone-fident you can do better."
Beau had promised he'd grab some ice cream to restock the freezer at the clubhouse, but it seemed like everyone else in Tonopah had the same idea. He joined the abnormally long line, resigning himself to scrolling on his phone in the meantime until the ruckus picked up at the front of the line. He hadn't caught everything, but he saw the end result and his laughter sputtered out of him, forcing him to cover his mouth with his hand to keep from drawing attention to himself. His laughter grew at the puns the woman beside him whispered. "I'm with you; seems to me like they should get straight to the pint and call it quits," he snickered under his breath. "Or maybe eating their ice cream'll help rum raisin their spirits." He furrowed his brows. "Okay, that one's not good. Who even eats rum raisin these days?"
