On writing a complex chapter: WIP/Author Notes for Through the Shadows of Shame (TSS), an AUP Fanfic
Just wanted to share another behind the scenes author's note for Through the Shadows of Shame, an Academy's Undercover Professor Fanfic.
Thumbnail is tiny so no spoilers ;)
This is for an upcoming chapter and it's very loaded with a lot of things. To be honest, I had to think of this chapter for almost a week, writing new outlines, drafts, ideas, assessing where I should put the chapter, and all of that.
It was a very difficult chapter because of all the emotions and body language as well as the environment which is more dynamic int his chapter compared to the previous chapters I've written.
So I figured I'd try mapping it out! I think writers really have a tool like this? But I didn't really reference any of those a lot, I'm used to doing flowchart to make sense of my brain, therefore I just did what was natural.
This was so helpful for me. When I tried to input all of the needed elements at once as I was writing it, it just didn't feel right and I got stuck thinking of what was wrong with it, not to mention how overwhelming it felt.
I like to really get in my feelings when writing the scenes, trying to feel and imagine what the characters would be feeling.
And there were a lot of feelings in this chapter.
So what worked?
Doing it in layers was by far a big brain moment for me. Instead of doing the entire scene in one draft, I did it in 3-4 parts:
First, I would draft the entire narrative focusing on the movement and dynamics of the changing environment and other external (non ML/FL) objects/characters. This establishes a sort of skeleton or structure for the entire thing because it gives us the timelines for when certain things need to happen and if it made sense for it to happen at that point (e.g. in my first draft it was only supposed to be 4pm and then the next paragraph the sun was already setting -- it just didn't make sense)
Second, after the skeleton is done and the scene is basically painted in with words, I add in the POV of the characters, 1 character at a time. The scene is difficult because they're both just walking silence not talking to each other, but they're both lost in thought so I needed to convey not only an inner monologue, but also body language, all juxtaposed into the setting in #1.
Third, I look at the side-by-side character thoughts/actions as the sene is unfolding (if you can kinda see it, there's a timeline of major events in the scene, and I've color-coded the thoughts of Ludger and Erina (my OC) and what change is happening at that point in time This is also for continuity, logic, and parallelism. (e.g. what are they thinking of at the same time? That would affect their body language and therefore change the perception or assumption the other person has of their current state of mind)
Fourth is copy editing. Mostly for rewriting the flow, making sure it makes sense, making sure the ideas are good.
Fifth is line editing. Tightening up the dialogue, cutting unnecessary lines, paragraphs, writing additional text for smoother transitions, wittier banter, etc.
Sixth is re-reading! And not just once. I re-read it a few times after editing, then leave it alone on the next chapter. Then I read it again at least once before I publish it. Because of this reason when I'm writing something I'm usually (ideally) 2-3 chapters ahead of my published chapters.
Phew, that was a hefty chapter. Anyway, I just wanted to share my process. Since I write the whole day and I'm alone most of the time, I don't really have people to talk to about this so I thought I'd talk to the internet void.
If you're curious about my story it's this one, on AO3: Through the Shadows of Shame - an AUP Fanfic

Erina
Erina are a species of humanoid hedgehog folks, whose origins are so far a mystery. Natural diggers, they so far live in only a few known extended burrows, several families working together to create mazelike tunnel systems for defense. These small spaces confuse intruders and get them lost, funneled into narrow choke points or dead end tunnels where the burrow's defenders can be delayed while noncombatants are brought to safety. As part of remaining hidden in these tunnels, they do not farm, as they are far harder to keep out of sight, and so erina mostly rely on foraging the surrounding area to feed their communities. Those who find their way into cities often end up as scroungers and thieves, continuing to live off of what they can find and hiding in sewers, alleys, or warrens.
Inspired by the Tome of Beasts 1. This post came out a week ago on my Patreon. If you want to get access to all my monster conversions early, as well as access to my premade adventures and other material I’m working on, consider backing me there!

hesitate is not a word usually associated with azra gulse, even less than one might associate her with modest. when you have a dragon privy to your most intimate experiences, at some point things like the human body cease to even effect a double take. curiosity piqued, it hadn't been hesitancy that caused azra to linger in the entryway. it's the woman's words, amusingly bold, that convince azra to stay.
"is it not a little early to be trying to drown yourself?" azra tsks, lazily settling against the secluded nook's wall. there's something almost predatory in her smile as she rakes her gaze down the woman before her. "classes haven't even started yet."
open to : all located : half-hidden nook within the courtyard
the moonlight plays no favourites, but for a moment you’d be forgiven for believing otherwise – so bright is the light refracting off erina’s slender, pivoting body that for a moment it appears reflective. it’s only at the second look, at the double take and assisting glance, that you realize the sheen comes from dampness. her body is glossy with a sheen of water, hair slicked against the back of her neck like a long river of black oil.
“there’s no need to hesitate,” erina calls absently, her hands occupied with the adjustments of redressing. “it’s only your modesty at stake, not mine. though if you’ve a penchant for indecency, you’re welcome to help me with my laces.”

Promise
A/N: I wrote this so long ago and then only edited it recently. Recently got back into JJBA since I’m rewatching it. Anyways, I hope that y’all enjoy.
Pairing: Joseph Joestar x Reader
Summary: Joseph Joestar, your fiancé, swore that he would come back to you no matter as he goes off on his own journey.
CW: None
You fiddled with the ring on your hand. A promise of the future that was to come with Joseph. You’d started fiddling with the ring ever since he had proposed. Joseph had a way of making your blood pressure rise so much that you feared that one day, he’d be the death of you. It seemed that he did things without fully thinking them through as to whether or not they could actually work. You shakily looked up at your fiancé as he spoke about his goal of going to Mexico to learn more about Speedwagon’s situation. As if everything he had just said wasn’t the most bizarre thing ever.
“Mexico, huh?” you quietly said. Internally, all the potential things that could go wrong were spinning in your head. Joseph could get hurt or lost or die or who knows what. There were endless possibilities and none of them made you happy. Besides, he’d be so far away.
A reassuring smile graced his face and you knew that he had figured out all your concerns. He always read you like a book. “I know you’re worried, (Y/N). But I swear to you that I’ll come back to you. I won’t die on you, okay?” he said gently. Joseph rarely made promises. Ever. If he ever did make a promise, you knew that it was something important.
“You swear it?” you asked cautiously. He nodded. Joseph lied sometimes, but about mundane things. Like that one time that he swore up and down that he hadn’t eaten that slice of cake you had badly wanted while he had the frosting on his cheek. But you also knew that he wasn’t one to treat your concerns lightly. If he swore to come back, he would.
As you thought, his arms tightly wrapped around you. “You think too much, you know?” You burst into tears as he held you. Being in his arms made your fears worse because what if this was the last time that he held you? He was certain of himself. Too certain. You couldn’t stop yourself from worrying that he wouldn’t come back to you and that he would die. You couldn’t hold back the spiraling thoughts that he could encounter something far worse than Straizo. Something in your heart told you that there was something far worse out there. What if Joseph never returned? You didn’t know what you would do if anything ever happened to him.
You pulled back a little and looked him in the eyes. “Y-you better come back to me, Jojo! If you don’t…I’ll never forgive you,” you said through tears.
He laughed. He quickly kissed your forehead before he fully pulled away from you. His absence was greatly felt as you missed the warmth. “I’ll be back. Don’t worry your pretty little head too much,” he cheerily said. He always seemed to shrug off big things as if they were little. As if he could always conquer everything. Truthfully, as much as you stressed out about him, you did believe in Joseph. Irrationally so.
Even as your legs shook as he bid Erina goodbye, you chose to believe in him. Joseph would come back to you.
He always did.
— —
Waiting for any sign of him would prove to be a test of patience. Every time a telegram would arrive at the Joestar residence, you would nearly fall over to get it and read it. Only to find out that it’s something unrelated to Joseph. When the first telegram of his arrived, you had nearly tripped over your feet trying to reach Erina. “Erina,” you happily said through tears. “Jojo’s okay! He even found Speedwagon! He’s okay!” The old lady’s tears mirrored yours as the two of you read over the telegram. You memorized every word in the telegram and read it in his voice. The very end of the telegram sent his love to the two of you. Your heart felt like it mended a little as you read it over and over again.
The following telegram was more of a surprise. “Erina,” you said as you walked into the residence. “Smokey!” Your eyes were focused on the telegram that confused you. You barely looked up to see the two people you had called as you thought. “Apparently, Jojo and Speedwagon have gone off to Italy…with no information as to why,” you said. The telegram, evidently written by Speedwagon as he signed it off, had barely any details. You handed it over to Erina and looked at Smokey in confusion. “What do they have to do in Italy?” you wondered.
“Well, whatever it is, I am sure that it is important,” said Erina quietly. The feelings that you all shared hung in the air without being said. Erina quietly grabbed both yours and Smokey’s hands and brought them to her. “We must remain hopeful. We must.” The two of you nodded with her. For her sake, you swallowed your own fears.
The following telegram, multiple days later was one from Joseph. “Everyone!” alerted Smokey as he waved the telegram around. “Jojo sent a telegram! He’s doing great!” He handed the telegram over to you and Erina as the two of you read over it. You felt tears in your eyes as he told all of you that he was okay. He was okay. That’s what mattered the most to you.
The next telegram was more confusing than the one that Speedwagon first sent. “Smokey. Speedwagon wants you to join him in Italy,” you said as you walked into the dining room. The telegram had been something late at night and very sudden. Speedwagon had hastily written it based on how quick and short it was. You handed it over to Smokey and shrugged. “I don’t know why.”
“That’s odd,” said Smokey. “But…if Mr. Speedwagon is asking me to go, then I’ll go.” You bit your lip and fiddled around with your ring. Joseph had sent nothing to you and Speedwagon had specified that you were to stay with Erina. Was the situation that serious? You didn’t know. You just had to hope that if Smokey was going, that things were getting resolved in some way.
— —
The news of his death had shattered you. You’d done your best to keep yourself together for Erina’s sake as you knew that it was much harder on her. But you’d spent every single night since the news hit in shambles. You’d fall asleep sobbing and wake up empty. Every night was lonelier than the last. The ring on your finger, his final gift to you, weighed heavily on your hand.
You numbly looked at the gravestone in front of you. Joseph Joestar. It didn’t feel real. It truly didn’t. You quietly sobbed as the Priest spoke. His words were meaningless to you as you knew that something had died inside of you. No one could replace it. All dreams of a future had slipped entirely from your grasp and were buried into the ground alongside the one man you loved. A piece of you had died with Joseph.
In the midst of mourning, you felt a set of arms wrap around you tightly. “(Y/N), why is everyone crying? Who are we mourning?” asked a familiar voice. You froze before slowly turning your head upwards. A shadow towered over you and part of you wondered if you had finally lost it. Maybe the lack of sleep and too much crying was getting to you. The towering shadow was none other than Joseph Joestar. “JOJO?!” you loudly exclaimed as he let go of you and held his left ear.
“You don’t have to scream,” he said as he laughed. He looked at everyone’s surprised faces and he frowned. “Why do all of you look like you’ve seen a ghost?”
“You’re not dead?” you asked him as you got close to him. Your hand reached out to grip his arm. He was real. Your hand didn’t go through him. Joseph was alive. More tears sprung forth as you realized that he was alive.
“Dead? Why would I be dea-” His eyes trailed over to the gravestone and he frowned. “Suzi Q! Don’t tell me that you forgot to send the telegram!” You looked over his shoulder and saw a blonde woman appearing from the car. She giggled nervously.
“I-I might’ve…” she said. You looked at Joseph and the frown on his face had gotten worse. You lightly pulled his arm to get his attention. He turned back to you and his face softened.
“It seems that we know why you all thought I was dead,” he said. You flung your arms around him and clung onto him tightly. His arms wrapped around you tightly. You had missed the feeling.
“Don’t you ever do that to me again!” you sobbed into his shoulder. “I thought you were dead!”
“I did promise you that I wouldn’t die, didn’t I?” he said. “The world would have to try harder to separate me from you.” You lifted your head to look at him. Even through tears, you could still see his brilliant smile.
Joseph had kept his promise.

Chapter 1 : Ataman.
Enjoy ! ლ(ಠ_ಠ ლ)
Holigrad, Eastern Slavic Republic – 3:02pm
As time passed and the oligarchs tightened their grip on the fragile Slavic Republic, Svetlana Belikova managed to find her way into government and became the first female president. Her goal was very clear: she wanted world peace, simple as that may sound. She was willing to do anything to achieve it, even to get her hands dirty, hoping that her country would be able to join the European Union and that its value would finally be recognised.
However, in 2006, as the state transitioned to a capitalist state, the first revolution broke out across the country. The gap that had formed between the rich and the poor had become insurmountable. The whole country was in turmoil. Svetlana was the first woman in the country to take on the role of a leader, and it was at this point that she set about calming the conflicts, at first in a diplomatic manner, but eventually using much more aggressive methods. Svetlana used money to achieve her goals and funded the military forces with more advanced training, more troops and better equipment. This worked for a while, the rebels were pushed back quite easily and then a ceasefire was offered in exchange for autonomy for some regions of the country.
In 2010, the state discovered that oil reserves were in rebel lands and fighting resumed when the government tried to seize them by force. A civil war broke out. The insurgents decided to redouble their efforts and continued to fight using bio-organic weapons. How they obtained these weapons was still unknown, so a bloody battle continued to rage in the country. Svetlana saw an opportunity in the use of these weapons, if her government and country could be seen to be actively opposing bioterrorism, she would gain favour with the larger Western powers.
"Come in," said Svetlana.
A woman opened the door to stand beside the president. She was of medium height, dressed in simple black jeans and a leather jacket of the same colour, her long brown hair was braided in her back. The fine features of her face brought out the green of her almond-shaped eyes, topped by long, thick black lashes, and her fleshy, rosy lips were sealed. The special detail of her face was the mole under her left eye. In a word, she was a very attractive woman. An impassive expression was glued to her face as she examined the men present in the room.
"Gentlemen, I present to you Erina Levin, my best and most formidable asset. I helped train her myself. She will be deployed to the field to find and approach Ivan Judanovich," Svetlana explained.
"And what does she intend to do? Charm him?" Asked a man, a petty smile on his lips, proud of his joke.
"The mediocre man always allows himself to make such reflections when it comes to a woman, how hilarious," said Erina, staring at the man.
The man gritted his teeth, ready to retort, but Svetlana spoke up again: "Irina has proven herself, many times over. She will get results by any means necessary. She will report to me regularly to inform me of the progress of the situation.” she turned to Erina: "You may go."
Erina nodded before leaving the office. She was determined to find the person responsible for this civil war by any means necessary, as the President had so aptly put it. But this was not her only objective, something more personal was driving her.
-
Erina had found refuge in a shop that had been completely abandoned, the windows completely blown out. She was leaning against the damaged wooden counter, talking to another liaison officer who had been in the field for a few days now.
"So you're Svetlana's new protégée, huh?" the man asked, scrutinizing her with his eyes.
"I guess so. What's the situation?" the young woman asked as she adjusted her holster.
"We managed to push the insurgents back with difficulty. Last I heard, Ivan was seen here a few hours ago. He couldn't have gone far, he must be hiding somewhere," said Dimitri, "Ah, also, we managed to intercept a communication, it seems that the United States has sent an agent here"
"Do you know why?" questioned Erina, her arms crossed against her chest.
"I think he's here to do the dirty work and find out how this whole mess started. Svetlana wouldn't want a meddler in her business, so we'd probably be doing her a favour by taking him out. I saw him heading towards the underground car park to the north, he was probably meeting someone”
"Well, thanks for the information."
"Hey, do you want to go for a drink after all this shit, just you and me?" Dimitri winked at her
"Try to stay alive, then we'll see," Erina replied, patting him on the shoulder. She didn't wait for an answer and left the shop through the back door.
The streets were deserted, some buildings had been evacuated, others damaged. She walked quietly over the debris, pulling her balaclava up to her nose to avoid inhaling dust. She passed a truck with a bee on it as she began her descent into the underground, and no sooner had she made her way through than an explosion sounded. A terrible roar echoed around her as debris crumbled several feet away. She hid behind a pillar and leaned to the side to observe the scene, a few metres to the left was the ripped open body of an old man, her gaze then shifted to the smoke cloud. She saw a man desperately trying to stand up, amidst the debris as a creature crawling on four legs came dangerously close to finish him off. Just as the beast was about to deliver the fatal blow, it suddenly stopped. There, in the cloud of dust, Ivan, the leader of the resistance, appeared staggering.
"We're taking him." he said.
Two other men emerged from the cloud of dust to lift the one on the ground. Irina braced her back against the pillar and blew slightly, still disturbed by what she had just seen. Ivan was able to control these creatures, which made him a more than redoubtable enemy. She had to act intelligently considering the danger of the situation, but this was her only chance, she had to follow them to their HQ.

I actually read once that Erina's VA is a singer, and I was like, won't it be awesome if Erina was walking down the empty halls, singing because she felt like it? And then Soma happened to pass by because he probably forgot something and witnessed the whole thing? 😂
IT DID HAPPEN, THIS IS CANON! Well, he caught her humming but either way!
Quite the situation for the Queen of Totsuki.
She never thought she’d find herself int his situation again BUT WHOOPS.
Like she was just singing to her hearts content and she was pretty good but she didn’t hear when another person entered the room.
Soma just stood there and listened to her before he accidentally COUGHED AND OH MY GOD.
Erina was running out at the speed of light.

(The crossed out ones were class/character that didn’t make the cut)
So I’m coming up with a fairly expansive JJBA Fire Emblem AU and this is everyone I have so far. I know what i want to do for villains but the player units are more fleshed out. The supports and character endings I have listed aren’t definite aside from the obvious ones (and I probably messed a few things up seeing as this is a LONG post). Exposition and character closeups:

(I thought it’d be cool if a character PREMOTED to lord, sort of like Ike, but instead of from another special class like him, from a regular class.) He’s a prince from a small kingdom, but because of certain circumstances he ran off to join the Supplena Mercenaries. Best growth is skill and speed, decent strength, meh defense. He has an ax exclusive to him and that’s unbreakable. He can support with all the Supplena Mercs as well as Josuke, Jotaro, and Erina. Has a paired ending with Caesar, Suzie Q, and Lisa Lisa.

Leader of the Supplena Merecnaries, and Joseph’s mother. She’s your customary early game crutch, but is like Seth and Titania and is useful throughout. She is like a kind but firm mother to her men, and none of them would dare doubt her authority. No one but her and the king know why she left the kingdom. Similar growths to Joseph. Can support Joseph, Caesar, Suzie Q and Tomoko. Has a paired ending with them all except Caesar.

Lisa Lisa’s second in command, and childhood friend of Suzie Q’s. Abut pouty and prideful, his boasts are backed up by skills. He shares a rivalry with Joseph, though secretly they consider each other best friends. He has good strength growths, good skill but not as good as Lisa Lisa/Joseph, but better defense. Can support with Lisa Lisa, Joseph and Suzie Q Has a paired ending with Joseph.

Pegasus knight service of the Supplena Mercenaries. She’s cheerful and a bit of a ditz, but is extremely capable. She adores Lisa Lisa and grew up with Caesar, and see him like a brother. Teases Joseph often. Abnormally high strength growths and cap for her class, but the typical low defense weakness. Can support Lisa Lisa, Caesar, Joseph and Erina, but only has paired endings with Joseph and Lisa Lisa.

An archer who joined the mercenaries at the same time as Joseph. His backstory is a mystery to the rest of the company as well, but in truth he’s a noble son who grew up with Joseph and followed him from the castle. He’s rational and down to earth, a stark contrast to his friend. Though he’s young, he has the making to climb the leadership latter with his rationality and experience. Has high speed growths. Can support with Joseph, Speedwagon, Suzie Q and Okuyasu, and has paired ends with (I don’t know who yet)

A cleric from a kingdom neighboring Joseph’s who came to the Supplena Mercenaries for aid. She is the court physician for Prince Jonathan and left on his behalf. Their kingdom is under siege from an army of what seem like the undead, and is headed by one of their former generals, Dio! She’s kind and sweet, but is unafraid to speak her mind and fight for what she wants. She has typical good cleric growths. She can support with Jonathan, Speedwagon, Joseph and Suzie Q. Her only paired ending is with Jonathan.

(Lazy drawing sorry) A good friend of Jonathan’s who volunteered to bodyguard Erina. He’s a good natured and excitable, but is also reliable in a fight. He didn’t come from noble birth, but after Jonathan saved him when they were children he worked his way up with honor in battle to be one of his retainers. He has typical grothws for a fighter, with slightly higher luck. Can support with Jonathan and Erina. Has no paired endings

(That doesn’t even look like him smdh) The prince that Erina and Speedwagon are in service of. He’s kind and fair, if a bit slovenly at times. He sends out his two most trusted vassals to get aid for his nation while he stays behind to fight and defend their castle, and thus joins far later than them. He’s been in love with Erina since they were children. He has good growths all around, with excellent strength and skill. He has an unbreakable sword exclusive to him. Can support with Erina, Speedwagon, and Jotaro. His only paired end is with Erina.

A young knight in service of the largest country on the continent. He may appear to be just a knight-in-training, but he’s actually the bastard son of the king (and therefore brother to Jolyne and Jotaro). He’s always known this, and though it’s a secret the rumor spread. He hates the whispers of nepotism behind his back. The player recruits him by explaining the great evil (Dio and what is possessing him (the Pillar Men)) and he commands his unit (Rohan, Koichi, Yukako, and Reimi) to help you. He’s kind, almost to a fault, but is prone to mischief. He has an unbreakable lance that can deal magic damage. If you insult his hair (imagine it more exaggerated than I drew it here) or his mother, he’ll fly off into rage. The king kept him around for succession emergencies. He has good growths all around, with strangely good growths in magic AND strength (shhh I know you couldn’t growth both in the GBA games shhhh), but his defense and res are somewhat lacking, He can support with Joseph, Jotaro, Okuyasu, Tomoko, Rohan, Reimi, Jolyne and Koichi. he has paired endings with Tomoko and Okuyasu.

A boisterous young knight who many consider dim. He enrolled in service of the king when he was young, but then he and his brother suddenly disappeared for years. He’s first found as an enemy unit, and can only be recruited by Josuke, either by talking to him or defeating him. He dies permanently if it’s anyone else. His good heart offsets his occasionally...oaf-ish tendencies. His brother, Keicho, is fought and killed as a boss, and Okuyasu has a complex about it. He has extremely high strength but his speed suffers. Can support with Koichi, Smokey, Polnareff, Reimi and Josuke. He only has a paired ending with Josuke (so far).

An archer in service of the royal house. He is one of the few people aware of Josuke’s royal lineage, but is also one of the few to never treat him differently for it. Him and Josuke have been good friends since they were young because of that. Koichi secretly serves as Jouske’s retainer. He’s a good guy, but overly friendly, even when he doesn’t want to be, and it gets him in sticky situations. He has good speed and skill, but his strength and def are lacking. Good res. He can support with Josuke, Okuyasu, Reimi, Yukako and Rohan. Has a paired ending with Yukako and Rohan.

A dark mage who aligned herself with the kingdom for reasons unknown. In actuality, it was because Koichi was kind to her once, and she followed him home. Is obsessed with him, but is willing to step aside and let him have his happiness. She has a somewhat dark personality, but is more than willing to help people and be kind/ Not much is known about her past except for that she met Koichi. Her expression rarely changes. Can support with Koichi and Kakyoin. Her only paired ending is with Koichi.

An irate priest who only joined the clergy because it was a family tradition. He ABHORS Josuke for reasons only the two of them know. He’s callous but not a bad man, and is good at what he does. He’s also an excellent painter, and has painted many royal portraits. He somehow got roped into secretly being Josuke’s retainer. He’s got pretty normal priests stats, but high magic for a male unit and average def (which is above average for a healer). Can support with Josuke, Koichi and Reimi. Has a paired ending with Reimi.

A pegasus knight under commander Tomoko. Kind and determined, she is weighed down by a terrible secret that few know about. She’s also older than she looks, just shy of thirty years old. One of the most liked members of the army. Especially great res and def growths, passable on everything else. Can support with Tomoko, Josuke, Koichi, Okuyasu and Rohan. Has a paited ending with Rohan.

Commander of the pegasus knights of Josuke’s kingdom, and she’s tough as nails. She was once a concubine to the king, but when she got pregnant with Josuke, the king offered a boon of her choosing to keep quiet about it. She choose a commission in the army once the baby was born and rose through the ranks on her own merit. She is a stern mother, but she also adores her son and and will go to great lengths for him. She followed Josuke when she heard he just up and joined some mercenary company, but doesn’t scold him, and joins when they explain everything to her. Similar grows to Josuke, but with better defenses. She can support with Lisa Lisa, Ann, Reimi and Josuke. Has a paired end with Lisa Lisa and Josuke.

(This is probably even worse than Jonathan I’m sORRY) Crown prince of the kingdom and brother to Josuke and Jolyne. He’s overly serious and a stick int he mud, and doesn’t even start the game as a very good heir. He’s a little quick to resort to viloence, but is a good guy overall and cares about his friends in his own gruff way.He was commanded to follow Josuke by the king when the new spread he left to make sure he doesn’t reveal his lineage, but Jotaro decides to join you (because he wants to help and he hates stuffy castle life). He has a sword exclusive to him that lowers the enemy’s def after he attacks. He has EXCELLENT strength and speed, but his luck and res are shit. Can support with Kakyoin, Polnareff, Ann Josuke, Jonathan, Jolyne and Joseph. Has a paired end with Kakyoin.
(WARNING; I KNOW LITTLE ABOUT THE FOLLOWING CHARACTERS SO THEY ARE GOING TO BE MORE BASIC THAN THE ABOVE)

A mage in service of the king, and one of Jotaro’s retainers. Intelligent and calm, he often serves as a translator for Jotaro’s more...gruff moments. He’s quiet but is known to be cheerful and even mischievous around his friends at times. He’s got great magic and resistance, but the typical low defense of a mage. He can support with Jotaro, Polnareff, Avdol and Ann. Has a paired ending with Jotaro.

Jotaro’s other retainer. Boisterous and slow on the uptake at times. Very theatrical and loud, but is also willing to give help to those who need it. When he’s around Kakyoin and Jotaro he’s often the only one speaking. Something happened were he lost his sister, and bringing it up is not a good idea. He is unusually fast for a knight, but otherwise suffers from the same strengths and weakness. Can support with Jotaro, Kakyoin, Avdol and Okuyasu. Paired end with Avdol. (someone else probably later).

The court magician to Josuke, Jotaro and Jolyne’s father. He’s wise and patient, but terrifying in battle. He’s well traveled and knowledgeable of the continent and beyond. He has a paternal tendency and gives advice to Jotaro and company. He’s also a skilled tactician. He was sent along with Jolyne and Hermes as reinforcements. He has your average good magic for a sage, but his defense is unusually high, but average resistance. Can support with Jotaro, Polnareff, Kakyoin and Ann. Has a paired end with Polnareff.

(I MISSPELLED THIEF I WANT TO DIE) A young thief the army picks up when they’re on a boat (idk when that is yet). She tried to stowaway to run away from home. You can either dismiss her or keep her around, but she’s you only access to chests and doors without keys. She’s got a big mouth but a good heart, and a bit of a precocious crush on Jotaro. Can support with Jotaro, Kakyoin, Avdol and Tomoko. No paired endings (so far).

Josuke and Jotaro’s sister, and the youngest of them. She has a bit of a complex, as she was the youngest and treated like it, and was ignored by her older brother who she admired. She doesn’t take any shit, but is by no means entirely callous or a bad person, but occasionally makes impulsive bad decisions. She is sent as reinforcements once her father acknowledges the growing evil threat. She didn’t know about Josuke until she met him on the campaign, and it makes her even angrier at her father and eldest brother. She is just a flat out excellent until, only really lacking in resistance. Can support with Hermes, Jotaro, and Josuke (probably someone else later). Has a paired ending with Hermes.

Jolyne’s noble retainer and friend. They can seem a bit vitriolic with one another but have gotten alone for years. Similar to her friend in that she’s a bit brash and unrelenting, with the added bonus of being a bit more crass. Her stats pale a little to Lisa Lisa, but works well if you want another swordmaster. Can support with Jolyne and has an ending with her (I know nothing about her??? So I don’t know who else she’d talk to).
And that’s all I have! Like I said, I do have villains in mind, some of which are hinted at above. I’m picturing this ins a GBA game setting, with a few tweaks to fit the characters (like Josuke having a magic stats when GBA units can’t and etc).

Giorno Giovanna is the happiest he's been in his entire life. He's getting married to a wonderful man, possibly the love of his life now that he's thinking about it, but there is one problem. He's been plagued by nightmares of his biological mother, that he barely even remembers. In search of closure, he digs through the Passione hotel attic and finds, apparently, a diary he'd stolen from his mother when he was a child. In it are two photographs, and a vague description of events that transpired. It's in the name of closure that Giorno and his lovely, wonderful, supportive fiance send the two mystery men named in his mother's diary invitations to their wedding. Now all he has to do is wait.
