Wait you forgot about Z! Can you tell us a bit about them? Even if they don't end up being a Ro, I'm super curious! Do you consider them assholes or they are more like Beatrice?
I'll be happy to answer that, dear anon! I have no plans for Z to be a bad person, so like Beatrice minus the scared part.
Here's some facts about Z!
Z's name will either be Zoya (F); Zivon (M) in the the real world, and their name in the other world will be Zara (F); Zeke (M).
Z would always bring MC food whenever MC's parents feel extra bitchy and starve MC.
I feel like Z has sixth sense and feel whenever MC feels sad/crying, so they climb up MC's bedroom window to comfort them.
Z is MC's childhood friend who moved back to Russia :>
Z misses MC to this day and I wouldn't be surprised if they fly back just because MC is treated badly and bitch-slap a certain group of people.

who: @zcyarheim where: corredores da academia prompt: "what's so funny? wipe off that smile."

Anyone else kinda hate alternating POVs in (romance) stories? I ask this as a person who is currently writing a fic with alternating POVs, but who has also recently read a handful of novels (both romance and not) with alternating POVs that just bored the hell out of me. Idk maybe it’s just that some writers tend to use it as an excuse to overwrite certain scenes or take any tension out of a dynamic?? There have definitely been multi-pov stories that I’ve LOVED but also ones that ruined an otherwise interesting story
#I really like the way Leigh Bardugo uses multiple POVs and I don’t think I’ve ever felt like it ruined any of her relationships. if anything#the pov shifts make me RABID (Hello Zoya and Nikolai I’m looking at you)#but I recently read ember in the ashes and there were little quirks of the pov switching that really irked me#like one chapter would end with this big cliffhanger for a certain character and rather than building off that tension it would switch POVs#and then explain the buildup from a different pov#and by the time we actually saw the outcome I was bored#and okay here’s a really unpopular opinion..A court of frost and starlight is really good#and the alternating POVs are done SO WELL. like it’s so fun to see different characters understand social situations in completely different#ways. I’ve never been a huge fan of the way SJM writes overarching plots so the character interactions really thrived for me in F&S#anyway. I think alternating POVs are at their best when they LIMIT the information we get instead of expanding it

for: open ( @maplecstarters) location: hackett family bookstore
Raising her sunglasses from her eyes, Zoya pushed back her hair with them as she slid them up to rest on the crown of her head. Blinking rapidly, she allowed her eyes to adjust to the dimly-lit interior of the bookstore. Once she had adjusted, she made her way confidently across the store, already knowing where she was heading. Stepping up to the featured tables labeled NEW RELEASE, her eyes scanned the titles excitedly; she nearly squealed when she caught sight of precisely what she'd been searching for.
"Yes! I'm so glad they have it!" Zoya proclaimed, perhaps a bit louder than she had originally intended. A slight blush crept up her neck as she glanced around, of course spotting another patron nearby. "I'm...So sorry. " She apologized through a chuckle. "I didn't mean to make a storewide announcement. I was just...Worried they wouldn't get the shipment on time. But they did, and it's here!" She added, holding the book out in front of her as she breathlessly continued taking in the details on the cover. "I think I'm in shock."

03 from demon raven :/
GREY DID NOT SO MUCH AS STEP INTO NEW WORLDS THAN FALL INTO THEM. some misconstrued alice realm of horror in place of wonder. caught in-between, she failed in the crossing more often than not. the air of limbo a familiar stench to her, it came back with her when she returned to brighter shores. no matter her visitations and though she may belong more to the mutated mosslands of the halfway she was only a visitor here ( and at times a cartographer ) to come upon a creature more umbratile than she in these dark corners of the bonewood; well it was a feat indeed one far beyond any pedigree she had when it came to summoning enchantments.
the energy is palpable the way the whole of the atmosphere bends towards the presence of the looming dark figure. fascination and fear make for a heady concoction brewing beneath her skin. it seems a thousand eyes of the deepest ruby bear into her then yet here it is no secret what lays beyond her fair veneer. the ripe fruit of her complexion housing flies, yet the sweetness of rot lingered in the air. the changeling asks not for any introduction or explanation yet it comes in palpable decree. one which has her tilting her head to better observe the demoness.
❛ i don't believe in gods... but you must be something close. ❜ a haltingly candid assessment of the situation. she is shocked though not so dumbfounded that she is incapable of speaking her mind. ❛ to come this far you would have to be. ❜ it said little about her own constitution ━ as a well-adorned corpse it was natural for her to be able to cuppy this space.

x. continued from here with @chaoslulled
It was rare for Zoya to be so forthcoming with her true feelings; if she took the time to decipher and understand them at all instead of channeling them into her usual guarded rage. Nikolai had become the counterbalance to her old habits, challenging her in ways she often found frustrating and irritating but were the best thing for her. She had grown, they both had, within the safe confines of their more intimate partnership that not only served their nation but served themselves as well. They presented a united front always, a promise made at the start of it all when she’d agreed to step into the role as Queen of but what occurred later and behind closed doors was only privy to a select few if they disagreed. And they did. Arguments weren’t unheard of between the pair of them, both alike in stubbornness and never lacking in passion while each tended to look for a fight in their own way. Zoya was an instigator, a thorny spine applying just the slightest bit of pressure to irritate and push boundaries but it seemed Nikolai was the only one ever willing to go toe to toe with her in any fight. He matched her in every way, but tonight there was no argument awaiting him in the quiet stillness of the sitting room. She might’ve preferred them parting on worse terms and maybe she could miss him less. The quiet felt like an apt reflection of her melancholy, but seeing Nikolai at the window staring out unseeing and at a loss for words didn’t exactly bring any reprieve or comfort she’d hoped for. Sipping deeply from her glass, reveling in the familiar burning sensation of her preferred kvas, Zoya’s icy stare tracked his movements as he came to join her in the chair seated next to her. She sat perched haphazardly with one leg tucked beneath her, the perfect picture of casual ease and her attempt at humor to lighten the gravity of the inevitable separation stretching out before them was eclipsed by the sudden sinking and overwhelming feeling building in the pit of her stomach that had nothing at all to do with the effects of the alcohol. “Of course I’m going to miss you…” She echoes his teasing, her voice soft with truthfulness reserved for his ears only. His parting was a necessity, a paramount matter of state that they agreed would always come first and yet Zoya couldn’t quell the nagging feeling that some part of her was leaving with him and being torn from her by the demon's own talons. The glass lingers at her lips, her tongue idly licking at the rim as she watches him, the exasperation he radiates while rubbing his temples and somehow her guarded and caged heart breaks a little more. He’s quick to snatch her glass from her, earning him a reproachful glare though she does nothing about it as he takes a sip and Zoya edges closer to him over the arm of her chair only to find herself still far too restrained by the distance for her liking. Languid in her movement to slide out of the chair, her intent clear as her hand grazes the arm of his chair and draws herself to stand in front of him with her thighs purposefully nudging him against his bent knees. “You can’t cancel.” She reminds him, really reminding them both so that she would never ask him to do such a thing. Not for the sake of Ravka nor restricting his freedom on the seas, the one thing she knows he may always crave as much as any desire to be near her. “But I’ll save all the soul torturing for your return.” She promises, smirking as she places both hands on either side of him against both armrests and leans in to press her forehead against his. “And you better return.” Zoya nudges against him with a growl, closing her eyes for a brief moment before swiping the glass back from his hand and straightening upright to down another sip. “Is it pathetic if I tell you I still don’t want you to go even though we both know better?”

I have some asks dear author:
Is Z engaged to MC?
Does the ro would know if something is bad with the Saint if Mc have a different personality than the original Saint?
Does IRL Z knows about Jules faking their care from mc?
Kara tried to destroy Z and MC friendship?
Is irl Z from a rich family? To be in mc house at night they must be neighbors
Hello dear anon! I noticed one of your questions is similar to another ask in my inbox, so I will both answer them here.
Z is not MC's fiance, sadly :)
Yes, however, only towards certain ROs: Rhys and Wren. As for the other ROs, they have only heard of the Saint and have not met them in person.
No, by the time Jules came to the picture, Z was already back in Russia, so they didn't meet. For context, Z is childhood friend in elementary, while MC met Jules in high-school. (well, not really in high-school, but when they were in high-school.)
Kara considers Z as a lame loser, and she thought Z's intentions weren't really genuine, so she just left them alone.
Z is rich and once mc's neighbor, yes. But Jules is only in the middle-class range.

for: zoya mehta ( @moonbleachd ) where: franklin & brown antiques ( weekend oddities pop-up )
“Woah - I’ve been trying to get someone to appreciate this for, like, ever.” The pop-up had been busier than they’d anticipated. It’d sounded fun, initially, when they agreed to work over the weekend. Zak actually quite enjoyed their job - took care of the bits and bobs that came in and occasionally gave them the heebie jeebies. It wasn’t like they could complain about signing themself up for the weekend. Simply, it was their tendency to get constantly distracted, side-tracked from the task at hand to gossip for minutes at a time with a respective customer. They had, personally, thought there was no harm in doing so - most of it revolved around the products, explaining each in careful detail. They could feel it happening again, watching Zoya admire the vintage 1941 natal chart a woman had painstakingly drawn out for her daughter on a thick scroll. “It’s cool, right?” They enthused, grinning as they pointed to the top of the chart - a named adorning the corner, ink bleeding and streaking down the paper. “This artist from the 40’s started drawing her daughter’s astrological chart the day after she was born, but she passed really young. At like two, I think. Apparently after that, her name there was all smudged. Like it was crying.” Momentarily, they paused - still glancing over the piece, as if reminiscing, before turning to Zoya with a wide grin. “It’s tragic, but there’s something beautiful about it too, I guess. She gave us access to learn everything we spiritually need to know about this person who never got to grow old enough to do it herself, y’know? It's nice, the idea that someone loves you enough that in a way, you live forever.”

Zoya paused and listened. Withholding judgement for a second just to let them finish. "No." She said. "I've heard a lot of things and that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."

@wvsteria asked: ’ i hate the way i don’t hate you ’ inej and zoya
inej pressed her lips together, keeping her composure so she didn't chuckle at what felt like a semi serious statement. "...thank you." it did seem from what she knew of zoya that friendly relationships for her were rather rare. "if it helps at all i don't hate you either." it's relieving to know a few people who are actually grounded with some common sense."
