owen was born and raised in worcester, ma. his parents, frank and helen  worked two or three jobs in order to pay the necessary bills and put food on the table. it was a struggle tbh, sometimes they didn’t have enough money for rent. it was so bad that to them frozen pizza was a luxury.

while it wasn’t the perfect childhood, owen thinks of it fondly because he had two loving parents and two younger siblings.

someone who was not happy about the family’s situation was his father. his dream was to see his goals turn into cold hard cash and get out of the vicious cycle of poverty.

‘good things come to those who wait’ and after years of waiting, his father met the right people, and soon enough, the family was trading their two-bedroom apartment in a rusty part of town for a beautiful residence in the suburbs.

freshly out of a private prestigious high school, owen now had to find what to do with his life. for the most part of his life, college never seemed like an option, his parents wouldn’t be able to afford it and the last thing he wanted was to become another student drowning in debt.

however, now it wasn’t only a possibility, it was an obligation. his father needed him to get a degree so he could run the business one day, and since he didn’t have a second choice, he did as told. four years later he graduated with a degree in finance.

he attended business school and then worked for his father’s company for a few years before landing a good job in an investment firm in nyc.

he was 32 and had enough money to do whatever he wanted, but that was the thing he didn’t want any of it.

the company that he worked so hard to build went bankrupt and now his parents and siblings relied on him to keep their lavish lifestyle.

eventually, owen got tired of everything. he was stuck in a job he hated, only because the money was good and he could continue funding his family but he wasn’t happy. so, he quit and his family was furious.

he cut off his family, told them to get a job, and well he’s still trying to find out what to do with his life, so right now he works as a bartender.
