Pondering a YouTube comment I saw about how Darcy's differing mannerisms across episodes could be a sign of different minds in the Core having the majority of control at any given point (and laughing at the following joke another user made about ‘mom saying it's my turn to control the primate’)
I've currently separated out two or three excluding Aldrich (keep in mind this is a headcanon, not a theory. I'm not good enough at reading people to offer this as canon)
The fucker whose favorite word is "Pathetic", to the point that I refer to them as such in my brain. They're not afraid/hesitant to openly criticize Andrias, so I could see them being the one who repeatedly threatens him about joining the Core. I also think they're probably the one that threatened Anne with vivisection in "The Beginning of the End" and had the clearly distinct exchange with Aldrich during "All In".
Dudebro who is referred to in my brain as "Gold Star" based on that one line from The Core & The King. Speaking of, I imagine them as being the one in control for almost all of that episode. They're nice/supportive towards Andrias, whether out of genuine affection or just as a manipulation thing.
The dialogue during the "Darcy vs Sasha and Grime" fight doesn't seem to completely fit with either of the above specifically, even if it kinda matches the bubbliness of "Gold Star" in TC&TK and the casual violence/intensity of "Pathetic" at the ends of the Christmas special and Beginning of the End. So I think it could be a secret third option. 乁( •_• )ㄏ
Below the cut are specific lines referenced:
"That was pathetic. And you call yourself a king." - Froggy Little Christmas ("Pathetic")
"As we thought, this technology is pathetic!" - The Core & The King ("Pathetic")
"Hmm. Good question, big guy. Why don't you call us... Darcy." - The Core & The King ("Gold Star")
"Alright! You did it! Gold star for you, bud." - The Core & The King ("Gold Star")
"Shut up, Andrias!" "We look forward to dissecting you. Alive. Guards, have the rest of them fitted for collars immediately. Andrias. Portal. Now. It's time." - The Beginning of the End ("Pathetic")
"Congratulations, big guy! After 1,000 years you've finally made amends." - All In ("Gold Star")
"This has gone on long enough— get out there and bring me that Boonchuy girl. Break her legs if you have to." "Oh, and Andrias. If you fail, you can forget about ever joining your father and the rest of us up here." - All In (maybe "Pathetic")
"Aldrich, your son is losing the will to fight. That weakling!" ("Pathetic", I think, having the distinct exchange with Aldrich)
The only reason I don't attribute either of these roles to Aldrich is because "Pathetic" is too harsh and disconnected even for Aldrich, going off of what we see in TC&TK, and "Gold Star" is just way too fuckin' nice to Andrias.

Unveiling Tumblr: A Hub for Digital Communities
This week's Digital Communities class offered a fascinating glimpse into the world of Tumblr, specifically its role in fostering online communities. Tumblr provides a unique case study in public sphere engagement.
The Rise of Micro Publics: Niche Communities Take Root
The lecture explored the concept of "micro publics" – smaller, niche communities that form within larger social media platforms. Tumblr, with its emphasis on user-generated content and customizable spaces, provides the perfect environment for these micro publics to flourish. Hashtags, comments, and creative content like GIFs and images become the building blocks for these vibrant communities.
Here, the focus isn't just on passively consuming information. Users actively shape online discourse by contributing their voices and interests, leading to a dynamic exchange of ideas.
Aesthetics Take Center Stage: Redefining Online Expression
One of the most intriguing aspects of Tumblr is its prioritization of aesthetics and creative expression. Scholar Jessalynn Keller highlights this in her work, emphasizing how users can personalize their blogs and curate visually-driven experiences. Gone are the days of solely text-based posts. Tumblr empowers users with tools like images, GIFs, videos, and unique layouts to craft narratives and share their passions in a visually compelling way.
Fan Cultures and the Power of Community
The lecture also referenced a video by Sarah Z, titled "Tumblr's Greatest Conspiracy: The Story of TJLC." This video explores the fascinating world of Tumblr fan communities, a cornerstone of the platform's culture. Imagine communities dedicated to specific shows, music artists, or even historical figures. These communities foster intense engagement, shared interests, and even creative collaboration, demonstrating how these micro publics can influence broader cultural trends.
Looking Forward: The Future of Online Communities
The lecture sparked some interesting questions. Micro publics on Tumblr, with their niche communities and unique voices, could potentially challenge the controlled narratives of traditional media. Imagine a platform buzzing with diverse perspectives on a single issue, instead of a one-sided news story.
Looking ahead, the future of Tumblr and online communities is wide open. Will Tumblr stay true to its roots, or will we see a rise of even more specialized platforms for micro publics? It'll be fascinating to see how these online communities evolve alongside technology, perhaps incorporating virtual or augmented reality to create even more immersive experiences.

Look mom, I'm making a callout post!
Well, not a callout as much as a warning to the entire Coco fandom, given what we found out about the piece of work that goes by "hobbyartist01", and what she has done to several fans for the past few months. I'll try to make a very long story short.
Be warned, there is mention of heavy homophobia and continued harassment.
I'm going to start from... near the end. When, a few days ago, this exchange between hobbyartist01 and some other users was brought to the attention of several people in the Coco fandom.
(Could I have blacked out the other people's names? Yes. Did I? Absolutely not.)
I will not link you to the video in question because I don't think that pile of shit should get any views. If you're too curious to resist, you can find it on YouTube but be warned - it is vehemently homophobic and the arguments in it are absolutely vile.
As hobbyartist01 was in a Coco Discord server called The Marigold Bridge, this screenshot was brought to the attention of its admins and some users. Not only did it show a new side to this user we'd been unaware of, but it suddenly presented us with a possible solution to an issue several people had been dealing with.
Starting in January this year, several Coco artists and writers have been dealing with an especially malicious anon. Hateful messages were sent, harassing comments, and in some cases even personal information the anon had been able to uncover about them (though mostly outdated); this person has quite literally gone back years in one user's Internet history to dig up information they had posted as a young teenager. The mods were sent a link by a blog which turned out to be an IP tracker; the blog later deleted itself. This anon tried rather hard to doxx one of the mods, and expressed frustration over being unable to do so. Another Coco fan received an anon message with a link to their personal Facebook profile.
Due to some very specific conversations in the Marigold Bridge server being referenced in the anon's comments, it was clear this piece of work was among its users. However, the mods had no idea who it may be.
Until the conversation above was brought to their attention.
You see, a lot of the messages and comments the anon had been sending had very clear homophobic undertones, with some being straight-up slurs; and some, which was most puzzling of all, had some really weird fanatical comments about going to Hell for worshipping a character "like he’s a god". So, once we saw the ugliness behind hobbyartist01's cutesy art and facade... we began looking into her a bit more. And suddenly it turns out that clues were there all along as to the anon's identity, we just needed to know who to look at.
A combination of peculiar wording in the messages, timing, people who just so happened to be their friends being brought up in said messages and more, made us strongly suspect hobbyartist01's was the hateful anon who'd been harassing people for some seven months. None of it was proof, but as it turns out, there was a smoking gun: while we knew how the anon was able to doxx one person, the other - the one who got a link to their Facebook profile sent to them - had no idea how they may have possibly been doxxed.
They had been very careful not to leave anything online that might point to their identity. And yet somehow the anon, who just so happened to be in the same server, had managed to find it. It was a real mystery... until they remembered a relative’s email exchange over some gift art with another user in the server, which contained information one could easily use to figure out their full name and find their Facebook profile.
And guess who the user in question was.
As we put all this together, hobbyartist01 realized several of us had unfollowed her on Tumblr (we immediately hit the unfollow button after becoming aware of the homophobia, before we really began putting two and two together on the rest) and blocked us all, before creating a very obvious sock puppet account and inviting it in the server, to be able to stay in case of a ban. She clearly did not know that the mods could tell exactly who created each invite link. Not suspicious behavior at all, eh?
At this point, the mods confronted hobbyartist01. All the evidence pointing at her was laid down in detail, including the fact no one else in the server had the information needed to find out a specific user's identity, and hobbyartist01 was asked for an explanation. The chance to defend herself was there, but it was not taken; despite the mods waiting for days before enacting a ban, hobbyartist01 never responded - though in that time, she did delete her DA and Ao3 accounts. Not at all suspicious, again - this just about obliterated any doubts that may have been left.
So yeah, there you have it. We feel everyone in the fandom should be warned about hobbyartis01, ESPECIALLY any LGBTQ+ people - she is a malicious homophobe who has harassed people for no good reason for seven months, going as far as to bring up family members' names in her messages to create as much anxiety as possible in her victims.
Keep away from this person, she cannot be trusted and we suspect she may have fake accounts.
Keep safe.

Fuck Misogyny
request: Bucky uses his newly gained knowledge of feminism to squash misogynistic interview questions. @ptrs-prkrs
warnings: language, creepy men, feminist!bucky
a/n: hey babes!! i hope this lived up to what you wanted! i couldn’t find the exact video you were referencing but i know what you’re talking about, so i drew inspiration from a few others.
p.s.: my requests and tag lists are open!!
xoxo ray
full m.list
The set up was simple. A long row of fold out tables covered in black fabric, microphones in front of each seat. Black papers were taped to the backs of the microphones with each team member's name. Bucky had told Evie that he wasn’t going to be able to work out with her today because of this so it better be worth it. The PR manager for the team, Amanda, had set everything up. Hired the mediator, notified the press, everything. Ever since they announced that they were going to be hosting an Avenger’s Q&A Panel, the internet quite literally broke.
Of course Bucky had been doing lives on TikTok with the group of five for the past couple of weeks now, so he was becoming quite comfortable in this format. He’s become increasingly active on his social media accounts, gaining more and more followers everyday. Granted, there were still haters, as Freddie called them, but Bucky ignored them for the most part.
Bucky was actually excited for this press meeting. He was finally gaining traction in the media and he knew how to correctly answer their questions. As Amanda had explained, there was going to be several questions from the mediator, tons from the press that they had invited, and then some fan questions as well. They apparently were going to be live streaming the conference on YouTube allowing them to read the comments and questions as it went on.
“Okay, everyone. You have two minutes until we start.” The team was in an empty board room in the Hilton hotel. Tony didn’t want everyone on the compound’s grass because he just had it fixed. Bucky scanned his fellow teammates. It was impossible for everyone to dress for the same event. Steve was wearing a shirt that was almost bursting at the seams with a pair of jeans and sneakers.
Tony was wearing a lovely Tom Ford, three piece, two-button, of course. Natasha and Wanda were wearing ripped jeans and casual tops. Vision was wearing a sweater vest and slacks, Bruce was clad in slacks as well a jacket covering his shoulders. Sam was wearing a button-up shirt and pressed jeans and he couldn’t find Clint anywhere, probably hiding in the rafters again.
Bucky had his iconic leather jacket donning his shoulders, a pair of slightly ripped jeans. His outfit was picked out by Cassie and Penny. “You need to look like you care but like you don’t at the same time.” Is what they said, the phrase made Bucky shake his head. His hair had finally started growing back and he wasn’t quite sure how he felt about it.
He had gotten help from Evie before he left Cassie’s apartment. She had pulled back the top half, braiding back two sections into the bun at the back of his head. There were pieces dangling in front of his eyes, “to accentuate the facial features, trust me they’ll love it.” Was Evie’s explanation as they pushed him out of the apartment, so he wouldn’t be late.
“Alright guys! They’re calling your names!” The team filed out of the board room and into a large ballroom. Bottles of water were placed beside each placemat. Tony went out first, followed by Steve, then Bruce, Natasha, Clint, Wanda, Vision, Sam and ending with Bucky. They all settled into their seats, Bucky peeled his jacket off himself, placing it on the back of his chair. His black short sleeved shirt highlighted the gold inlays of his vibranium arm.
“Oh, I see we’re showing some muscle today huh, Buck?” Sam teased as Bucky took his seat next to him. Bucky groaned in realization, covering his microphone so it didn’t pick up what he planned to say.
“Good God, is this what it’s going to be like the entire panel? You just bugging the shit outta me?” They shared a laugh making the rest of the members look at the pair. The audience clapped as they were introduced and continued clapping as they assembled before them.
“Thank you. We would like to welcome everyone to the first, of hopefully many, Avenger’s Q&A Panel.” The female mediator, Stacey, read the assigned lines off the sheet on her podium. “We are going to start with questions we curated for the team and then open it up to the members of the press. After that we will turn to our live stream and answer some viewer questions.” The press rustled in their seats, pulling out pens and journals as well as their phones to record. “Okay, starting off with a question directed at the Avengers in general. How are you feeling about coming before the media in this type of format?” Glances were exchanged between the members, not sure on who was going to start.
“I feel that this is a great way for the general public to learn a little bit more about each individual team member.” Vision was the first to respond and Steve added on.
“Yeah, I definitely think that there’s a common misconception that we don’t want to engage with the media or the general public. We do, unfortunately due to the amount of research and training that we are doing behind the scenes, it just goes to the back of our minds.”
“Right. So Tony and Bruce, we all know that you two are geniuses. What are your feelings on expanding the teachings of STEM courses to not only high school, but as far back as elementary school or even kindergarten?” The pair thought about the question before answering.
“Well, I definitely think that offering STEM-based classes at a younger age would be beneficial, especially if we were to allow the kids to continue to switch what they want to focus on.” Bruce started. “It’s incredibly anxiety-inducing for teenagers to have to decide what they’re going to do with their life right before they are thrust into an unforgiving world.”
“Yeah, I’ll never understand why we do that to our future leaders, it’s honestly baffling. Why do American schools wait until high school to require our children to learn foriegn languages, they aren’t going to retain that information. The same applies for such comprehensive courses like STEM-based ones. If you wait until their brains are already developed so far, then they’ve already decided what they think is interesting and if they don’t find those courses interesting then they aren’t going to pay attention.” Tony finished Bruce's thought before nodding to each other smugly, obviously proud of themselves for answering the question so well.
“Interesting that you see it that way. This last one goes out to everyone and then we’ll open it up to the reporters. How do you deal with the stress and anxiety that comes with being an Avenger? Do you feel a certain amount of pressure to always do the right thing?” Stacey shuffled her papers, tapping them twice on the podium.
“We all have our own routines and ways that we decompress after missions so that really just depends on the person. Like I think that Bruce listens to opera music, and Wanda mediatates, Tony tinkers. It depends on the person.” Natasha answered concisely, making Bucky nod his head. He could recall all of those things to be true.
“Oh definitely, and it doesn’t hurt that we have a former VA Trauma Counselor on board to help us work through the harder stuff.” Steve added a gesture of his head to Sam.
“Speaking of that Sam, just a quick question before we open it up. How difficult was it for you to transition from regular Air Force missions to Avenger level missions?” Sam made a face at Stacey before answering.
“Um, I mean, it’s not that different. You’re always fighting one of the Big Three-- aliens, androids, or wizards, no matter what department you’re working with. The only transition I had to deal with was the Tony Stark-erized suits. Now that I think of it, Tony, can we make it tighter?” Sam quipped making the room laugh with ease.
“Alright, well now we’re going to open it up to the reporters. Starting with this gentleman in the front and then if we could also give a microphone to someone on that side of the room. Okay, thank you.” The first reporter stood up, holding the microphone in one hand and his phone in the other.
“Hello. John from Huffington Post. The Avengers inspire almost everyone around the world, so we would like to know who inspires you? Who do you look up to in terms of your idols?” He sat back down as the team contemplated their answers.
“Gandhi.” Bruce said, Tony snapped his fingers and pointed at him then added. “Pepper, she’s so amazing.” Steve looked down to Bucky, who shrugged.
“I would probably have to say that my sister, Sarah, inspires me. She raised her two sons, Cas and AJ, by herself after the Blip and was able to keep the family business going.” Sam’s answer made Bucky smile. Sam had brought him to their house in Delacroix, he remembered waking up to Cas and AJ playing in the kitchen, happy giggles filtering through reminding him of his time in Wakanda. By the time that Bucky had refocused on the conversation they had moved on without his answer. Several different questions went by, all directed to the team at large, until Chad.
“Hi, I’m Chad for the Daily Mail. My question is for Wanda and Natasha.” The pair of women perked up, excited to have a specific question. “Do you find that your equipment hinders you in doing your job as well as your male counterparts?” Stunned expressions settled over the womens faces, then annoyance. Bucky’s brows shot up to his hairline, appalled that someone had the balls to ask that. Wanda and Natasha handled the question with grace and much more restraint than Bucky would have.
“Well for me, I am able to move things with my mind so I can throw things randomly at people even if I’m not in the room. I’ve been very fortunate to work with Natasha who has Widow training, so my hand to hand combat is improving immensely. And being able to work with Princess Shuri in Wakanda to learn how to fully control my powers. It’s an ever evolving process that I’m always excited to take on.” Bucky nodded and turned his attention to Natasha.
“My favorite thing is training with either Steve or Bucky because they push me to do my best. We all have our specialties here and it’s nice to learn new skills or improve old ones with people who support you.” Natasha sat back in her chair, crossing her arms over her chest, throwing daggers with her eyes at Chad in the audience, waiting for him to say something else. Chad stood again, yelling so he could be heard over the crowd’s commotion.
“That’s great, ladies, but forgive me, you didn’t answer the question I asked.” Bucky pushed forward in his seat, leaning into his microphone.
“I’m sorry, I think I misunderstood what you asked them then. I would like for you to clarify what you mean by equipment.” Chad balked, not expecting a male’s voice to respond.
“You know what’s implied by equipment, sir.” Bucky’s jaw clenched at the man.
“Did you just ask two of the most capable women that I’ve ever known, if their equipment, which I’m assuming you’re referring their breasts, made it to where they couldn’t do their job as good as the rest of their male counterparts. Just to be clear, that’s what you’re asking?” Chad stuttered as he answered yes.
“Right, well first off that’s disgusting. Just a bit of background for you, Wanda is the strongest Avenger here, plain and simple. As for Natasha, she’s the smartest woman I’ve ever met and she can take down every single male here.” Bucky took a breath before continuing. “So, what I think you really want to know is how they encourage their teammates to keep up with them.” He dropped his head to look at the two women down the line.
“Don’t worry Chad, I’ll ask them the right question, since you can’t quite seem to understand how to respect women.” The team was holding back snickers at Chad’s reaction. “Wanda, Natasha. Chad wants to know how the hell you push your male teammates to be just as good as you are. What are your strategies to keep us on our toes while training?” Claps sounded from the women press members and Bucky awaited the pair's response. The next press member stood and asked a question.
“Hi, I’m Chloe from Vanity Fair. This question goes to everyone on the panel.” Bucky settled in for another question that didn’t matter. “How do you continue to be aware of things happening in our society today? Do you keep up-to-date through new channels, or social media?” The answers were rather generic from the team, all of them rather uncomfortable from the tension that Bucky and Chad had created. Stacey interrupted after Chloe’s question.
“Okay, we’re going to open it up to viewer questions from our live stream.” An iPad was placed on the podium in front of Stacey and her eyebrows rose. “Okay, there’s quite a variety here. Here’s one for Steve and Bucky.” Bucky perked up, nervous to answer because his adrenaline had worn off.
“One viewer asks, ‘Steve and Bucky, being from the 40’s, women were treated like second thoughts and were talked about like objects. Now, you’re in the 21st century, not much has changed. What have you been doing to support feminist causes?’”
“I just want to say that everyone should be answering this. It’s true that during the 40’s women were not treated the right way, and they still aren’t today. An 18 year old can’t walk down the street at nine o’clock at night without being catcalled. I am a proud feminist, as everyone should be. I think that as a team we are doing pretty well in that department. As far as what I’m doing to support feminist causes, I’m doing as much as I can. I actually recently enrolled in online classes to expand my knowledge on many subjects, seeing as how I am from the 40’s and all.” The crowd laughed along with Bucky.
“Almost all of my classes have to do with either psychology or gender studies, it’s a fascinatingly haunting subject. One book that I’m reading right now was suggested to me by my friend Cassie, it’s called Hood Feminism: Notes from the Women that a Movement Forgot. The author doesn’t let up and I’m only halfway through it. Look, I’m still educating myself, but I’m a strong believer in doing what is right for everyone, so I’m trying. Thankfully I have a few people keeping me in check as far as my actions.” Bucky thought his response was well thought out for being an on the fly question. He was new to the concept of feminism but that didn’t change the fact that it made total sense.
“I’m with Bucky on this. The 40’s were a rough time. I remember the first time I met Peggy Carter, I was astonished that a woman could be in such a powerful position. One of the first things she did after I met her was punch out someone who made a sexual comment to her. I’ve been supporting feminist causes ever since working with Peggy.” Steve added, a sad smile spreading on his face reminiscing Peggy.
“This one says, ‘As a total fan of all of you, I love seeing what you post on your social media accounts. When are the rest of the Avengers going to follow Bucky’s lead and download TikTok?’” Bucky’s head flew back into a full body laugh. Tony shifted forward in his seat, pointing his finger at the laughing man down the table.
“I would just like to say he didn’t get that approved before doing it. However, it did go over really well, so we’ll consider it.” Wanda’s mouth rolled inwards, stifling her laughter.
“We’ll consider it, you’re such an old man. Most of us have TikTok already, we just don’t make content on it like Barnes over here.” Sam said, tossing his head in Bucky’s direction.
“I’ve got like three videos on there!” Bucky and Sam began bantering back and forth.
“Yeah and one of them is dancing to a Cardi B song! Who even showed you that? I thought you only like 40’s music?” Bucky made a face at the man.
“Uh, just because I didn’t like your suggestions for music doesn’t mean I don’t have taste. My Spotify playlist is filling out quite nicely, Wilson.” Bucky and Sam didn’t quit fighting from then on, just little jabs at each other under the table.
“Here’s a good one,” Stacey had a smile on her face, “Are you allies of the LGBTQ+ community?” Bucky responded quickly with no hesitation.
“Yes, many of my friends are members of the Alphabet Mafia. Why wouldn’t we be?” Wanda nodded at his question, laughing at his use of the phrase Alphabet Mafia.
“Yeah, absolutely. I mean, I’m dating a fucking android, I’d be pretty hypocrictal if I wasn’t an ally. Nat, Clint what about you?” Clint bobbed his head in response.
“Oh yeah. We all are, even the Star Spangled Man with a Plan.” Steve’s shoulders shook with laughter at Clint’s nickname for him. The team broke out into laughter, joining Steve. Stacey cleared her throat, commanding the attention of the room again.
“Alright, everybody! That’s it for today.” She glanced down at her papers. “We would like to thank everyone for coming out today and joining the Avengers Q&A Panel. At this time we are unaware, if we will be conducting another one of these, but the odds look good based on the response.” The team filed out of the ballroom and into the empty boardroom. Bucky was the last to get into the room and he was approached by Natasha and Wanda immediately. Wanda wrapped her arms around him in a bear hug.
“That was so sick, Bucky!” She stepped back and Natasha offered him a side hug as well. “Where’d you learn all that? And since when are you taking online classes?”
“That guy was being an asshole, he needed to be put in his place. I hope you guys didn’t feel like I overstepped or anything.” Bucky hung his arm over Wanda’s shoulder, leaning his weight on her. “And I started about two months ago. They’re going really well, I’m learning a lot and enjoying it surprisingly. It’s a good thing to do in my free time since I’m not always on missions.”
“I’m proud of you James, that was impressive.” Natasha complimented him, she wasn’t usually a woman of many words so that was a lot. Bucky smiled at her, nodding his head. His phone began buzzing in his back pocket, so he excused himself from their conversation. His screen displayed one of Evie’s senior pictures, signalling that she was calling him. He pushed the green button and brought the phone to his ear to answer her call.
“Hello?” She ignored his greeting with a squeal.
“Check your Twitter! Bucky, you’re trending! Here I’m putting you on speaker, we’re all here Buck!” Shuffling noises were heard through the speaker as Evie began reading the tweets to Bucky. Laughs from Cassie, Freddie and Penny could be heard behind Evie’s voice.
“Oh my gosh Eve! Just let the man get back to what he was doing!” Freddie yelled at an excited Evie, who retaliated with a scoff.
“Okay, okay! Just remember we have a movie night tomorrow! It’s Penny’s turn to pick so we don’t know what to expect.” Evie mumbled the last part into her phone speaker. Bucky heard the impact of a pillow hit Evie, causing her to grunt in pain. “Okay! We’ll talk to you later, Buck! See you soon!” She hung up the phone before he could get a word in edgewise. Bucky shook his head as he shoved his phone back into his pocket. Amanda approached Bucky asking to speak with him privately.
“So we’re getting a flood of interview requests from networks and papers. We would like to start running with this. We’ll have to go over everything with our PR guy, Ryan, but it should work out. As long as you’re comfortable with all of this.” Bucky smiled and nodded, following after Amanda as she continued explaining what would happen going forward.
He was nervous, of course, but he could tell these nerves were coming from a place of excitement instead of fear, which was a new sensation for the man. It wasn’t unwelcome, it was the same as when he first started hanging out with Cassie, Penny, Freddie and Evie. It was the same when he went on his first mission with the team. Bucky was ready to tackle this next adventure, whatever it would entail.

For instance, envision that your recordings are about Facebook promoting and you plan to help entrepreneurs.
On the off chance that an entrepreneur who needs to study Facebook advertising buys in to your channel, they'll get an update whenever you post some substance on Facebook showcasing.
This furnishes them with an approach to remain on top of things without doing a great deal of work.
In case you're battling to concoct a topic for your channel, simply consider the issues that your business illuminates and who it takes care of those issues for.
At that point, produce a few recordings dependent on the themes that you realize best will help the sort of individuals that your business serves.
Post mind boggling content
Numerous advertisers understand that video changes over superior to different types of media
In the event that you need to encounter results this way, you have to figure out how to make mind boggling content in your media stage.
In addition, in the event that you can make mind boggling content, at that point a great deal of the business related to developing your endorser tally is accomplished for you as of now.
At the point when individuals buy in to your channel, they're basically joining to get refreshes at whatever point another bit of substance is posted.
In the event that your substance is extraordinary, individuals wouldn't fret got notification from you once more, in light of the fact that their underlying collaboration with you and your substance was so certain.
Buying in is justified, despite all the trouble, in light of the fact that each time they navigate to your video, they get something that is of incentive to them.
Regardless of whether that is a learning experience, a diversion experience, or both — it merits viewing your recordings.
Also, recollect that individuals set aside the effort to watch extraordinary substance. 75% of business officials watch business related recordings consistently. This is a decent establishment for your media stage that will grow informal organizations.
On the off chance that your substance is great, at that point you'll profit by the way that 54% of senior administrators share content with their interpersonal organizations.
Be that as it may, regardless of whether your recordings are acceptable, you despite everything may need to remind them to buy in — however it won't be a daunting struggle.
So how would you produce extraordinary substance?
In the event that you need to make unimaginable substance, it merits concentrating on creating content that is significant for your objective market/crowd.
Given that you're adhering to a topic as referenced previously, it shouldn't be too difficult to even think about coming up with an approach to create important substance.
Suppose that you need to make a channel that covers the subject of 'pencil drawing.'
One way we could concoct thoughts is by basically entering the wide catchphrase of 'pencil bringing' into the YouTube internet searcher.
More than 3 billion ventures are led on YouTube every month. So we know there will be some pertinent information here
At the point when we type in the catchphrase, we see the proposals above.
Presently, those subjects may appear to be somewhat expansive, so you might need to pick one of those catchphrases, and experience a similar procedure again with the goal that you can produce something increasingly succinct.
We should include the word 'instructional exercise,' for example.
By including the word instructional exercise, we are presently given some increasingly compact catchphrases.
The way that these watchwords show up in the proposals tells us that individuals are scanning for these kinds of recordings.
You may contend that there is a ton of rivalry for such watchwords.
And keeping in mind that that might be valid, later on in the post we'll make sense of how we can get individuals to see our recordings, in any event, when there is a great deal of rivalry — so don't leave it alone a worry until further notice.
The incredible thing about the methodology above is that it gives us a spot to begin.
On the off chance that we need to deliver content for a specific specialty, this strategy tells us what sorts of substance individuals will as of now have an enthusiasm for review.
You can likewise utilize the Google Keyword device to think of some substance thoughts. That is on the grounds that there will be some soundness between Google indexed lists and YouTube list items.
Youtube additionally happens to be one of the greatest web search tools on the planet — all things considered, if individuals need to discover a video they need to look for it right? Joined with web based life promoting, the outcomes develop.
We should stay with the subject of 'pencil drawing.'
In the 'Your item or administration' box, enter a watchword dependent on your business. On the off chance that I was maintaining a business that showed individuals how to do a pencil drawing, I'd enter 'how to do a pencil drawing.'
You need to keep the watchword wide at this stage since it'll take into consideration the catchphrase apparatus to think of a wide scope of thoughts for you.
When you've entered the watchword, you'll at that point see this page. It shows a few 'Advertisement gatherings' of catchphrases.
Each gathering of watchwords bases on a specific theme.
As should be obvious, I've organized the gatherings regarding 'Normal month to month searches' and slipping request. This gives us a feeling of where there may be a great deal of rivalry
We should tap on the mid-run bunch called 'Drawing Techniques.'
I've featured a couple of catchphrases that may speak to great YouTube content chances.
I picked these catchphrases since it's obvious to perceive how you could make a concentrated, high-esteem video that could be revolved around these watchwords.
You may imagine that these catchphrases don't have that numerous ventures, and, along these lines, aren't commendable as far as exertion required.
Be that as it may, recall that we're not simply going to post a bunch of recordings and afterward be finished with it.
Developing a YouTube channel so it inevitably has a ton of endorsers regularly expects you to post a ton of substance.
The greatest YouTube channel has more than 4,000 recordings in presence.
In the event that you need to do that, while as yet keeping the substance applicable, you should have the option to specialty down your substance however much as could reasonably be expected, so every one of your recordings gives something new to a watcher to learn.
Also, in the event that you specialty down, it's just common that the degree of searches every month will go down.
Besides, regardless of whether you center around low volume watchwords, they'll all meet up to assist you with gathering speed and set up yourself in a YouTube specialty.
Likewise, you'll notice that with a great deal of the littler catchphrases, numerous individuals haven't made completely enhanced recordings for them.
Just 9% of little U.S organizations use YouTube, so in case you're hoping to create business content, this speaks to an incredible chance to build up a media stage that hits your intended interest group.
See what occurs, for example, when I type in the 'Straightforward drawing procedures' watchword.
There's a playlist there, however other than that, there aren't any completely advanced titles, or even recordings, based exclusively around the subject of 'basic drawing procedures.'
The following thing that can improve the nature of your recordings is creation quality. From a specific perspective, in any case, this isn't generally a need yet.
For whatever length of time that your recordings are wealthy in esteem and furnish the watcher with the data they need, you're working admirably.
At the point when the recordings begin to present to you an arrival, you can concentrate more on creation quality.
However, there are a few provisos here.

WASHINGTON—Ten states sued Google Wednesday, accusing the search giant of running an illegal digital-advertising monopoly and enlisting rival Facebook Inc. FB 0.04% in an alleged deal to rig ad auctions that was code-named after “Star Wars” characters.
The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in Texas, alleges that Facebook emerged in 2017 as a powerful new rival to Google, challenging the Alphabet Inc. unit’s established dominance in online advertising. Google responded by initiating an agreement in which Facebook would curtail its competitive moves, in return for guaranteed special treatment in Google-run ad auctions, the lawsuit claims.
Google’s internal code name for the alleged Facebook deal referenced characters from Star Wars, according to the suit, which redacted specifics. A person familiar with the matter said the code name was “Jedi Blue,” after the sci-fi franchise’s Jedi knights.
More on Tech Antitrust Actions
“Google is a trillion-dollar monopoly brazenly abusing its monopolistic power, going so far as to induce senior Facebook executives to agree to a contractual scheme that undermines the heart of [the] competitive process,” Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who led the suit, said in a statement.
The accusations opened up a fresh front of criticism for both tech giants, each of which face federal antitrust lawsuits filed in recent weeks.
Facebook declined to comment. Google denied engaging in any anticompetitive behavior and repeated its stance that it operates in highly competitive markets.
“Attorney General Paxton’s ad tech claims are meritless, yet he’s gone ahead in spite of all the facts. We’ve invested in state-of-the-art ad tech services that help businesses and benefit consumers,” a Google spokesperson said Wednesday. “We will strongly defend ourselves from his baseless claims in court.”
The spokesperson said that the allegation about Facebook isn’t accurate and that the company doesn’t receive special data.
Nine other attorneys general, all Republicans like Mr. Paxton, joined the lawsuit. Noticeably absent were Democrats who had initially joined Texas in launching a bipartisan state investigation of Google last fall, though it is possible more states could join the suit later. A separate, bipartisan group of state attorneys general is preparing another antitrust case against Google, which is expected to target its search business and could filed as soon as Thursday.

The Texas-led case contains allegations that aren’t addressed in detail in a Justice Department lawsuit filed Oct. 20 against Google. The federal suit focused on Google’s flagship search business, alleging it maintains its status as gatekeeper to the internet through an unlawful web of exclusionary and interlocking business agreements that shut out competitors.
Wednesday’s complaint traces back more than a decade, alleging that Google quietly built up and defended its dominance in the market for digital ads, beginning with its acquisition of the ad-technology firm DoubleClick in 2008.

Many of the accusations involve Google’s ad-tech software, which is used to buy and sell ads on sites across the web. Google owns the dominant tool at every link in the complex chain between online publishers and advertisers, giving it unique power over the monetization of digital content. It also owns key platforms for reaching consumers, such as YouTube.
The Texas-led suit accuses Google of illegally tying these products to one another, leveraging its power in one part of the advertising chain to force publishers or advertisers to use another Google-owned tool.
The claims echo past concerns from advertising-technology companies and news publishers. They say Google created a system rife with conflicts of interest, in which it used its superior data advantage and dominant position in the marketplace to give preference to its own tools and steer money to its own properties.
Google “now uses its immense market power to extract a very high tax of [REDACTED] percent of the ad dollars otherwise flowing to the countless online publishers and content producers like online newspapers, cooking websites and blogs who survive by selling advertisements on their websites and apps,” the lawsuit says.
The suit alleged that this added cost “is ultimately borne by American consumers through higher prices and lower quality on the goods, services and information those businesses provide.”
The complaint also targets Google for allegedly influencing an initiative for developing mobile webpages, known as Accelerated Mobile Pages, to effectively force publishers to adopt a format that would make it harder to use alternative ad technologies on those pages.

The suit alleges that Google came up with a secret program to harm publishers, code-named in reference to the “Star Wars” franchise, with the precise name redacted in the complaint.
The program appeared to allow publishers more freedom to choose among exchanges that match the buyers and sellers of digital ads, the lawsuit alleged. But it says that Google “secretly let its own exchange win, even when another exchange submitted a higher bid.” The program was “designed…to avoid competition and the program consequently hurt publishers,” the suit says, citing an internal Google communication.
The company has consistently disputed claims that it dominates the advertising technology market.
“To suggest that the ad tech sector is lacking competition is simply not true,” it said in a blog post last year. “To the contrary, the industry is famously crowded. There are thousands of companies, large and small, working together and in competition with each other to power digital advertising across the web, each with different specialties and technologies.”
According to the lawsuit, Google went to great lengths to preserve its market power.
When Facebook emerged as a threat, “Google made overtures to Facebook,” the lawsuit says, with the two parties allegedly entering into the Jedi Blue deal. Facebook withdrew as a direct threat in return for Google giving Facebook “information, speed and other advantages in the auctions that Google runs” for publishers’ mobile advertising, the lawsuit says.
“The parties agree on [REDACTED] for how often Facebook would [REDACTED] publishers’ auctions—literally manipulating the auction with [REDACTED] for how often Facebook would bid and win,” the suit says.
The lawsuit seeks monetary damages from Google and asks the court to restrain Google’s behavior, including via “structural relief to restore competitive conditions in the relevant markets.”
States joining in the Texas-led case include Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota and Utah.
The federal suit filed this fall highlighted Google’s relationship with another tech giant, Apple Inc., alleging that Google uses billions of dollars collected from advertising to pay for mobile-phone manufacturers, carriers and browsers such as Apple’s Safari to maintain Google as their preset, default search engine.

Taken together, the cases risk tarnishing Silicon Valley’s reputation with suggestions of preferential arrangements that harm both consumers and potential competitors.
The lawsuits could take years to resolve. Eventually, the state and federal lawsuits against Google could be combined into a single case. Up to now, the states have coordinated with the Justice Department, which also has been posing increasingly detailed questions—to Google’s rivals and to executives inside the company—about how Google’s third-party advertising business interacts with publishers and advertisers, according to people familiar with that probe.
Wall Street Journal publisher News Corp, a longtime Google critic, was among the publishers contacted by antitrust investigators, along with New York Times Co. , Gannett Co. , Nexstar Media Group Inc. and Condé Nast, some of the people said.
David Chavern, chief executive of the News Media Alliance trade association, welcomed the states’ suit. “Quality local journalism has been directly damaged by Google’s anticompetitive conduct, and we look forward to the judicial authorities examining the full range of their behaviors and businesses,” he said.

Sanders Demands Apology From Biden For Hilary Rosen’s Comment

YouTube Screenshot
There is a controversy brewing over the comments of CNN contributor Hilary Rosen during a heated exchange with Sanders campaign co-chair Nina Turner. Rosen’s comments have been denounced as racist and her initial apology triggered even more intense criticism. What is most interesting however is what this controversy says about the role of contributors. Rosen has a long history of supporting Democratic establishment figures from the Clintons to Joe Biden. In today’s formulaic media roles, she is viewed as such a de facto voice for Biden that Sen. Bernie Sanders has demanded that Biden apologize for her comments. It is a dispute that directs a bright light on the usually murky roles played by “contributors” on the cable programs as campaign surrogates. The exchange also had some troubling issues when Turner object to Rosen’s contrary interpretation of a Martin Luther King “as a white woman.” As discussed below, Turner was right on the meaning of the quote. So the problem was not that Rosen was white. It was that she was wrong.
Turner and Rosen crossed swords on Thursday night on “Cuomo Prime Time” after Turner invoked Martin Luther King Jr. Rosen objected to the reference, suggested that Turner got the quote wrong, and then said that Turner “did not have the standing” to invoke King in this way. Later Rosen apologized after widespread criticism but seemed to refer to Turner in the apology as an “angry black woman.”
Here is the original exchange:
“That is not what I said. Don’t you do that,” Rosen said.
HILARY ROSEN, BIDEN CAMPAIGN SURROGATE: You know, Nina referenced Dr. Martin Luther King [Jr.] before saying he said from the Birmingham jail that we should be concerned about white moderates. That’s actually not what Martin Luther King said. What he said —
NINA TURNER, SANDERS CAMPAIGN SURROGATE: He did say that.
ROSEN: He said we should be worried about the silence of white moderates.
TURNER: Don’t tell me about Martin Luther King Jr. Are you kidding me?
ROSEN: Nina —
CUOMO: She’s making a language point, Nina.
ROSEN: What he said was we should be worrying about the silence of white moderates. And what we have in Joe Biden is a man that’s not silent. He has a long record and many, many votes that in today’s world feel like the wrong thing, were the wrong thing and he has discussed that over and over again as Bernie Sanders did on the gun votes and other things. So we can be talking about votes from 20 years ago or we can be talking about people’s values and who they trust. And that’s what Joe Biden is going to be talking about.
CUOMO: Last quick point to you, Nina.
TURNER: What Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was talking about, he said it is the point that the white moderate wants things to be comfortable instead of focusing in on the bigger threat is not necessarily the white KKK member but more the white moderate that is more comfortable with keeping things the same while pretending like there is no tension than to deal —
ROSEN: Don’t use Martin Luther King against Joe Biden. You don’t have that —
TURNER: First of all —
ROSEN: You don’t have that standing. I’m sorry. You don’t.
TURNER: Don’t tell me what kind of standing I have as a black woman in America. How dare you?
ROSEN: You have a lot of standing as a black woman in America.
TURNER: First of all, you’re dipping into something you don’t understand. You need to — I did not demean you —
ROSEN: You don’t have the standing to attack Joe Biden using Martin Luther King’s words.
TURNER: I didn’t attack anybody. You’re taking it that way.
Listen, don’t dip into what I have to say about the Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. How dare you as a white woman try to tell me —
ROSEN: That is not what I said. Don’t you do that.
TURNER: — trying to tell me what I’m supposed to feel and what I’m doing what now.
CUOMO: Nina, Hillary, I’m out of time on this one —
TURNER: Chris, I didn’t jump in on her, though and she wants to jump in on me.
CUOMO: You guys are in the same party. This is what you guys have to figure out. You’re in the same party. And let me tell you, you better keep that same energy when you are up against Trump that you have against each other because he is bigger and badder than I think you guys are ready for.
Cuomo has been criticized for not taking a stronger stance against Rosen. I am not sure that that is his function. Ironically, I am more concerned with what he said at the end where he seemed to chastise the two commentators for not focusing on defeating Trump as “the bigger and badder” threat. It is another example of the open advocacy that seems to have become the norm at CNN. I fail to see why it is the function of a CNN host to mediate disagreements between rivaling Democratic candidates to better campaign against Trump.
Moreover, while I think (as I explain below) that Rosen was wrong on the quote, I do not agree with Turner that “as a white woman,” Rosen is somehow not allowed to disagree with Turner on a quote of Martin Luther King.
Rosen however deepened the controversy with her apology:
“On air thurs I said my colleague @ninaturner didn’t have a standing to use MLK Jr. That was wrong. I am sorry for saying those words. [Please] no need to defend me and attack angry black women. They have standing. I always need to listen more than I talk. We rise together.”
The “angry black women” reference set off a firestorm and Rosen deleted her apology and issued a new one:
“I’m horrified that anyone would think i would call Nina Turner ‘an angry black woman’ I would NEVER!! After the TV hit last night, I was getting tons of ugly messages to keep fighting her using that phrase. I was trying to tell people to STOP. Cause I KNEW I needed to apologize. I unequivocally know I disrespected her and I wanted to make it right by telling disgusting white folks to stop. Wow did that tweet go wrong. I am so sorry.”
Now Sanders has demanded a Biden apology for Rosen’s comments:
“@JoeBiden must accept responsibility for his surrogate telling our campaign co-chair Senator @NinaTurner that she doesn’t have standing to invoke the words of Dr. King. That is unacceptable and Joe must apologize to Nina and all the people of color supporting our campaign.”
Rosen has had a history of controversial statements. In 2012, Rosen inexplicably attacked Ann Romney, the wife of then presidential candidate Mitt Romney, as a stay-at-home mother. Rosen said that a stay-at-home mother she “never worked a day in her life.” Rosen’s comments were denounced by the Obamas and she apologized.
Then in 2017, as we discussed in a blog post, Rosen attacked Georgetown Hoyas fans as “anti-Semitic,” and specifically attacked one fan as “bigot” after she saw a photograph of him wearing a bacon costume. The Georgetown student, Michael Bakan, was well-known for the costume that was a pun on his name which is pronounced “bacon.” Rosen again apologized.
For full disclosure, I previously had an odd exchange with Rosen on the air with NPR where she suddenly objected to a discussion over gay rights as a lesbian without explaining what was offensive. The host and I were simply discussing the change of Hillary Clinton on gay rights issues like same-sex marriage. I never did learn what was the cause of Rosen’s exclamation “Because I’m a lesbian and how dare you” but it now seems similar to aspects of this exchange.
Sander’s demand for an apology from Biden is fascinating in this new media environment where commentators are selected to give predictably one view in crossfire formats. Sanders is right that many contributors are effectively working for or directed by campaigns. However, his demand for an apology highlights these connections and pierces the artificial neutrality of so many political commentators.

The dispute by the way over the MLK statement stems from his famous “Letter From a Birmingham Jail.” I think that Rosen was wrong and Turner was right on what King said about moderates. It was not about their “silence” alone when he wrote:
“First, I must confess that over the past few years I have been gravely disappointed with the white moderate. I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro’s great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen’s Council-er or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to “order” than to justice; who prefers a negative peace which is the absence of tension to a positive peace which is the presence of justice; who constantly says: “I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action”; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man’s freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a “more convenient season.” Shallow understanding from people of good will is more frustrating than absolute misunderstanding from people of ill will. Lukewarm acceptance is much more bewildering than outright rejection.”
His point seems to be that moderate whites are more devoted to the status quo and fearful of many reforms. Accordingly, I think Turner has the more accurate interpretation of the passage. It also would seems as apropos to her point a\in the exchange with Rosen.

John Zimmel’s Advice on Branding & Growth Tactics for Overall Social Media
John Zimmel does what all other successful business leaders do; he surrounds himself with talent, but not always in the physical sense. One of those talented individuals is the highly-regarded multimedia expert, Gary Vaynerchuk.
Gary Vaynerchuk is an entrepreneur, best-selling author, inspirational speaker, social media leader, and mentor to many aspiring entrepreneurs. Gary’s messaging fits with John Zimmel’s vision to the T, and recently, Gary posted an article titled, “The $1.80 Instagram Strategy To Grow Your Business Or Brand.”
In this analogy of growing your brand and business specifically through Instagram, John Zimmel points out that the foundational message can be used on all social media platforms, and in life in general. The principal message ties into the $1.80 referenced in the title. Basically, Mr. Vaynerchuck is suggesting the following:
-Be a part of the conversation
-Engage with similar mindsets and goal-oriented people
-Leave Comments
-DM
-Be authentic and leave encouraging, thought-provoking messages or replies
-Make Meaningful Connections
-NEVER spam or clickbait your brand
Gary Vaynerchuck states, “The $1.80 Instagram strategy, which translates to leaving your personal .02 cents on the top 9 trending Instagram posts for 10 different hashtags that are relevant to your brand or business every single day. By the end, you haven’t just left your .02, but a full $1.80 of thoughts online in the specific category, niche, or industry you want to become a part of. I have always discussed how important it is, not only to build influence but to build community and become part of the conversation online.”
John Zimmel implements this $1.80 method into his Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and all other social media outlets, and real-world encounters. John uses hashtags and also search words depending on the platform in which he’s interested. John only connects when he feels empowered to do so.
John Zimmel said, “It’s not going to benefit you or your brand to connect or engage with individuals that you don’t respect or can’t stand behind. I ask myself if I would be comfortable talking to this person live, would I like to hang out with them, or would I want to exchange tips with them on a regular basis. However, if I believe there is a real connection to make, I make it without any hesitation.”
John Zimmel is a multimedia entrepreneur with several successful businesses in place. John has established himself as an ardent professional with a vision and plans for future development. He embraces new ideas and out-of-the-box thinking.

Broadband Accelerates Substantial Transformation in Development, says Global Report
Digital Inequality Between Developed and Developing Countries Grows; Ooredoo Reaffirms Commitment to Reduce this Gap across its Global Footprint
DOHA, Qatar, Sept. 25, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Broadband technologies are today driving substantial transformation in many development-related sectors, including health, education, financial inclusion and food security, making them a key accelerator towards achievement of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), says The State of Broadband 2017: Broadband Catalyzing Sustainable Development report released by the UN Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development.
The report has been released just ahead of the Commission's fall meeting in New York City on 17 September, and amid the UN General Assembly taking place 12-25 September 2017, also in New York.
According to the report, while 48% of the global population is now online, some 3.9 billion people still do not have Internet access, with the digital gap growing between developed and developing countries. In addition, only 76% of the world's population lives within access of a 3G signal, and only 43% of people within access of a 4G connection. The disparities in gender access are also becoming wider in developing countries.
"Broadband is crucial to connecting people to the resources needed to improve their livelihoods, and to the world achieving the Sustainable Development Goals," said ITU Secretary-General Houlin Zhao, who serves as co-Vice Chair of the Commission with UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova. "The goals for education, gender equality and infrastructure include bold targets for information and communication technology. The State of Broadband 2017 report outlines how broadband is already contributing to this and makes valuable recommendations for how it can increase this contribution into the future."
Sheikh Saud Bin Nasser Al Thani, Group CEO, Ooredoo, commented that: "The report shines a crucial light on the ongoing global challenge to help people across the world access the life-changing benefits of internet access. At Ooredoo, we continue to invest in mobile technology, people and resources that enable our communities – in particular underserved women and youth – to enjoy the internet and use it as a means to improve their lives and achieve their full potential. As we deploy the power of digital technology to give people access to the services and support they need, we urge governments, operators and regulators to continue working closely together to address the deepening digital inequality in global connectivity."
Ooredoo's commitment to reduce digital inequality stems from its core mission to make the internet accessible and enjoyable for everyone. This is highlighted within the report with several examples of Ooredoo's efforts to harness broadband for sustainable development including:
Ooredoo Myanmar's mAgri app Site Phyo, an app that provides farmers with localised weather information and best practices for growing and maintaining specific crops;
Ooredoo Maldives Smart Campus, an end-to-end solution for distance education offered in partnership with Microsoft, which enables educators to maintain their curriculums online; and
Indosat Ooredoo's Indonesia Belajar, a digital education programme that aims to use technology to help make education more available and accessible for children across Indonesia.
Delivery of this commitment rests on Ooredoo maintaining cutting-edge mobile technology across its global footprint, in both developed and developing markets. As such, Ooredoo has continued to invest in 5G-ready networks and in 2016, completed network modernisation programmes across all of the 10 countries it operates in.
This investment is recognised in the report with Qatar's path towards 5G highlighted in a dedicated viewpoint. Qatar is referenced as a regional pioneer in delivering cutting-edge broadband technology. The viewpoint observes that Qatar is one of a few nations around the world to have successfully tested 10 Gbps FTTH services, as well as completing one of the first 5G mobile trials in the MENA region, reaching speeds of 35.46 Gbps. Qatar is said to be on the brink of becoming a truly smart nation with the series of technological breakthroughs it has achieved demonstrating the potential of 5G for industry, society and individuals alike.
Issued annually, The State of Broadband report is a unique global snapshot of broadband network access and affordability, with country-by-country data measuring broadband access against key advocacy targets set by the Commission in 2011.
The report also examines global trends in broadband connectivity and technologies, reflects on policy and regulatory developments, as well as the applications of broadband for sustainable development. It also presents several policy recommendations.
Promoting investment in broadband connectivity from a broad range of sectors, the report notes, can help achieve the full potential of these technologies and bring the world closer to the goal of an inclusive digital society accessible by all.

Voyager: A Fire of Devotion References: Part 1
I may have missed a few, but here is an I believe more than 95% complete list of references to other media I made in Part One of Star Trek Voyager: A Fire of Devotion.
From Chapter One:
The name for the gold shirt who died in the episode “Scientific Method” was never given in canon. The name used in AFoD was used from the non-canon version of that same character from the Voyager entry in the Section 31 novel series, titled “Shadow.”
From Chapter Three:
While the idea for having Harry Kim remember the “Year of Hell” was derived from the SF Debris review of that 2-part episode, the scene as it is written was envisioned by me as being in part like the series finale episode of Stargate SG-1.
“Creterakian onions” are a reference to the alien race called the Creterakian from Scott Sigler’s Galactic Football League series of novels. This is the first of many GFL reference scattered throughout this Voyager fic, including but not limited to race names and character names.
From Chapter Five: Transporter Chief Kitrick is named after Jess Kitrick, host of the (now defunct) YouTube shows Fool’s Gold and Superhero Rundown. She is currently an Assistant Editor on the YouTube series Rap Critic and co-host of the podcast Late Night With Bisexuals.
From Chapter Six: Seven of Nine’s thought, “I will make them suffer in ways they cannot imagine,” was a play on the following line from Buffy the Vampire Slayer;
Buffy: I will make him die in ways he can’t even imagine. *looks down* That probably would’ve sounded more commanding if I wasn’t wearing my yummy sushi pajamas.
The scene where Tom yells “Shit!” and Seven responds with “Langauge!” was intentionally referencing the exact exchange between iron Man and Captain America is Avengers: Age of Ultron.
From Chapter Seven:
Samantha calling Seven “Tiger” is a reference to the Peter Parker/Mary Jane Watson relationship from the Spider-Man comics before Queseda went and fucked it up- prior to One More Day. Sam’s decision to not make it a regular pet name was solely the author’s call.
Additional information about Omega used in this chapter but not in the original “The Omega Directive” episode were taken from the Star Trek TOS entry in the Section 31 novel series, titled “Cloak.”
Tom Paris quoting his father as saying ‘if you have to deny an action, it was a crappy action.’ is word-for-word a line taken from the video game Mass Effect 3. The original line is in reference to the organization known as Cerberus, which one could argue is the Mass Effect universe’s equivalent to Section 31.
Captain Janeway yelling Seven of Nine’s birth name to get her attention is a nod to/inversion of the scene in Indiana Jones and The Last Crusade where Indiana’s father uses his preferred name over his birth name for the first time in the movie to pull him away from trying to grab the Holy Grail.
From Chapter Eight:
In one paragraph, Seven picks up a pink, plush hippopotamus. This is a nod to Tara Deenihan, co-host of the web series What The Fuck Is Wrong With You, who is partially known for her love of hippos. Some of her quips from WTFIWWY also get used as lines during the course of A Fire of Devotion.
From Chapter Nine:
The reference to the homo-erotic subtext interpretation of Shakespeare's Coriolanus was inspired by the Brows Held High review of the recent film adaptation of that play.
The scene where Janeway tells Chakotay that her and Seven’s clash of personalities come from them being very much alike is abased on an exchange from an episode of the Babylon 5 spin-off series Crusade.
The Janeway line “Boy it sure is nice here in left field,” is a Gilmore Girls reference; specifically a line spoken by Rory when Lorelai makes a random comment about the actor William Holden.

8 Reasons Your Instagram Followers Aren’t Buying
Are you investing time, money and resources into Instagram, and only getting a handful of Likes and followers in return? While comments, Likes and new followers are great, they don’t always equate to new customers.
Although Instagram is mostly known as a great tool for branding and engagement, it can also be a direct source of new customers. The challenge is figuring out how to turn casual followers into leads and buyers.
If you’ve been struggling to convert on Instagram, here are eight reasons your followers aren’t buying.
1. You’re Hard Selling
Nothing turns people off more than the pushy salesperson, especially on social media. Since its inception, Instagram has placed a strict focus on content, creativity and capturing memorable moments. Posts about your latest specials and deals don’t always fit into that vision.
If you’re constantly selling on your Instagram page and not offering anything of value, there’s a good chance your followers notice and are completely turned off. Our Q3 2016 Index found that posting too many promotional messages is the No. 1 reason people unfollow brands on social media.
You can turn things around by sharing less self-serving content. Think about photo and video ideas that your audience would find useful or entertaining. You can even mix in your products and services to get the best of both worlds. For instance, the BulletJournal Instagram account regrams pictures of how customers use their product instead of solely generic images. This is a great way to demonstrate the value of your product without being overly promotional.
#Repost @bujo_nina with @repostapp ・・・ Happy Sunday!! This weekend mostly filled out ☺ I've enjoyed having so much space with this spread the last week but I know that from Monday I will be super busy with work, so back to a two page spread it will be! #bulletjournal

2. You’re Not Promoting Enough
We just told you not to hard-sell, now we’re saying you’re not promoting enough. What’s the deal?
While posting too much promotional content can definitely be a turn off, some marketers fall on the other end of the spectrum and never post any type of marketing message. Ideally, you want to fall somewhere in the middle so that you’re giving value but also have the opportunity to get something in return when you need to.
In his popular book Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook, entrepreneur Gary Vaynerchuk recommends the process of give, give, give and then ask. What that means is you constantly give to your audience with no expectation of anything in return. Then when you actually do have something special to promote, you can ask without the fear of being spammy.
There’s no problem with being promotional or asking for something from your followers. The problem is when you start asking more frequently than you give value.
BestSelfCo, a company that sells products to motivate and improve productivity, is an excellent example of a company that has found a good balance. They share a healthy mix of promotional and non-promotional posts so that it’s not overbearing. Here’s a look at six posts in a row, only two of which feature their products.
As you can see, when you regularly share non-promotional posts, featuring your products every now and then isn’t disruptive at all. In fact, it helps your promotional posts stand out.
3. You’re Not Pushing Traffic to the Right Places
Let’s say you’ve found the right mix of promotional and non-promotional content and you’re able to get Instagram users to leave the app and go to your website, signup page or elsewhere. The next challenge is getting them to convert. If your Instagram traffic isn’t converting, there could be a chance that you’re not sending them to the right place.
Instagram gives you one clickable link in your bio and that’s it. You can’t add links to your captions, in replies or anywhere else. Most brands default to just using their website’s home page here, but that’s not always the best option. And here’s why.
A link to your home page might be great for people who have no idea what your company does and just want to check out your website. But that’s extremely broad and general. It doesn’t account for what people on Instagram want to see from your brand and it doesn’t give them any clue for what to do once they click through.
Instead, get strategic with where you’re sending your Instagram traffic.
For instance, you can use the link to promote your latest blog post, YouTube video or other content. Post a photo or video on you Instagram and direct people to click the link in your bio to read the full story.
Here’s an example from Mashable. They made a post featuring an eye catching image that referenced an old blog post.
#tbt to the early 20th century, when photographer Edward S. Curtis spent more than 20 years crisscrossing North America and photographing more than 80 different Native American tribes. Though Curtis sometimes posed and costumed his subjects to resemble an imagined pre-Columbian existence rather than their actual lives, his images represent one of the most expansive records of Native Americans of the time. For more, checkout the link in our bio. #retronaut
A post shared by Mashable (@mashable) on Feb 23, 2017 at 8:50am PST
Notice they direct people to go to the link in their bio for more information.
You could also send traffic to a landing page specifically made for people visiting from Instagram. Think about what your audience on Instagram wants to see and craft your copy and lead magnet around that. A lead magnet is simply something you’re giving away for free in exchange for the person’s email address or other information.
Foundr Magazine links to a lead magnet for an email swipe file in their bio.
When people click on the link, they’re taken to a landing page where they have to enter in their contact information and become leads Foundr can pursue.
Whether you’re sending traffic to your home page or a special landing page, it’s a good idea to add some context in your bio to guide people along. It can be as simple as a few words to explain what people should do on your site, or a brief description of what you’re linking to like Foundr did.
4. Your Site Isn’t Optimized for Mobile Devices
To go along with the previous tip, you need to make sure your website is fully optimized for mobile devices. This is particularly important for ecommerce or software companies that are trying to get people to make a purchase or signup for a trial. Your signup and checkout process needs to work just as well on a mobile device as it does on desktop since most Instagram users access the app through their phone or tablet.
You can start by plugging your website into Google’s mobile friendly tester. Passing this test in the minimum you can do. It simply shows whether or not your website is “easy to use” on a mobile device. It doesn’t necessarily mean everything functions as it should.
To go a step further, you should add your site in Google Search Console (GSC). This is Google’s dashboard that helps website owners get a better understanding of how their site is performing in the search engine as well as any issues that could affect your rankings.
GSC has a built in mobile usability tester that gives you a more in depth look into issues your website has on mobile devices.
The last line of defense is to actually go through your site on a mobile device as if you were someone visiting from Instagram. Test out any add to cart buttons, the signup process and anything else that could potentially cause problems for your audience.
5. You’re Not Tracking What’s Working
Remember what we said about posting the right type of content for your audience? If you’re not tracking, you’ll have no idea what that content looks like.
While you could use Instagram’s built in analytics, most businesses require something more in depth. Sprout’s Instagram analytics features give you in depth stats on your best performing content right down to which hashtags give you the most engagement.
Staying on top of your stats will help you make smarter decisions on what’s working and what could be improved on. There’s no need to guess or make assumptions. Use data to find out what type of content your audience wants to see from you.
6. You’re Not Being Strategic
In a survey from Trust Radius, 48% of businesses reported that developing a social media strategy was their biggest challenge on social. While you might be able to get away with just winging it for a bit, eventually not having a defined or thought out Instagram marketing strategy is going to hurt your ability to sell.
One of the main benefits of having a strategy in place is it allows you to build out a sales funnel for Instagram. Sending people to your home page and just hoping for the best leaves room for missed opportunities. While you’ll get the occasional visitor that converts on their first time, most people require a little more convincing before they trust you enough to become a customer.
With a sales funnel in place, you have the opportunity to nurture leads and warm them up for the sale. Check out our guide on how to create an Instagram marketing strategy to get started.
You’re Treating Instagram Like Every Other Platform
Instagram isn’t the same as Facebook, Twitter or any other network so you have to account for that in the way you approach it. For one, there’s the whole no clickable links issue we mentioned earlier. That alone makes it significantly different from what most marketers are used to.
Instead of strictly looking at Instagram as a way to directly result in sales, think of it from a branding perspective. It’s a way to stay in front of your audience and be discovered by new ones. But ultimately your goal should be to get that audience off of Instagram and onto your email list or another platform where they can be converted into a customer or lead.
7. You’re Not Evolving With the Platform
Instagram has made it clear that they’re not afraid to release new features. In 2016 the company released a wide range of updates from comment moderation to saved drafts and Instagram Stories. While these features are primarily to make the app more enjoyable for users, they also present new opportunities for brands as well.
If you’re still using Instagram the same way you were in 2015, it’s time to update take advantage of all the new features available. We’ve already seen brands like Tastemade jump on board Instagram Stories when many marketers were hesitant because they weren’t sure if it’d be able to go head to head with Snapchat.
Just like with any other social network, as they release new features and make changes, you should test it out and think of ways to use it to your advantage.
Ready to Get More Buyers on Instagram?
If you’ve been struggling to turn Instagram followers into buyers, hopefully the tips above will give you the boost you need. Focus on providing value, balancing promotional and non-promotional content and developing an Instagram marketing strategy. Over time you’ll start to reap the rewards of your efforts and go beyond getting Likes and followers to gaining leads and customers on Instagram.
