“Hahi? Oh! Onii-san!” Haru waved her hands enthusiastically, greeting the elder brother of one of her best friends. “Hello down there!” Haru perched up in a tree when she noticed Ryohei walking by. What was Haru doing up a tree you ask? Huhu… that’s a good question! A very good question, indeed. You see…

Haru’s stuck.

In her arms was a frightened cat. “Haru wanted to help this poor thing that got stuck up a tree and she climbed up to get it. The problem is… Haru can’t climb back down.” She didn’t think this through when she started climbing up the tree. She couldn’t jump down, because she was too far up for that. Climb down with one arm? The cat would panic and start climbing all over her if she’s not holding on with both hands. See? Stuck

“Can you lend Haru a hand please?”

Haru was happy that he stopped and noticed her. There was always the chance that he didn't hear her and kept jogging off, but she was in luck (or was she... stay tuned)!

She eagerly awaits for him to come rescue her from the tree. 'Eh? Why is he also climbing up the tree? Eh? No no, surely he has a good reason for it. Haru has faith!' Whatever he had in mind, surely it was going to be a good plan.

With bated breath, she waits for him to explain the game plan. '...Ah. he says. No way...'

"O-Onii-san...? Surely your plan didn't involve ALSO getting stuck in this tree with Haru?" Tell her it wasn't so! Say sike right now! She can somehow remember this one time...

"Eh? About my Onii-san? He... doesn't always think before he acts, but he does everything with energy, 'to the extreme!' as he says."

'Kyoko-chan... you shouldn't given Haru a better warning...' she sheds a mental tear. "Well, this stray cat is Haru's new friend. It loves to dig claws into everything." She holds out the cat for him to see.

The sudden call alerted him from his jog as the silver-haired momentarily looked around to the familiar voice. "Haru??" Thankfully she made her presence clear-- up there on the tree.

Fair enough, that happens every now and then. For the girl to want to climb to help, that was commendable. "I see... Great job, Haru! Alright, stay right there!" Ryohei commanded, tossing his bag to the side and leaping onto the tree; "I'll help you down right away!!" Climbing surprisingly skillfully, the boxer made his way.

"Okay!!" Hyping himself, Ryohei sat on both knees, barely managing to balance himself atop the treebranch; shaking some as he stretched a hand out for Haru to grab. "Hold on, and I'll get you both down to the extreme!!" Yes, from atop the tree, on the same level, he will help her get down!

... ...There was a glaring problem with his action of choice, wasn't there.

How exactly was he going to get them down? "...Ah."

“Hahi…? Carry us both down?” she tilts her head to the side, “How?” There are a few ways someone can be carried, over the shoulder cave-man hold, a princess carry, or something like a piggyback ride. Haru for sure couldn’t be slung over his shoulder, and a princess carry wouldn’t be conducive for the situation at hand. A piggy back carry might’ve worked if not for the cat that would dig its claws into you the moment it felt unsecure.

“Hahi! Mochi! You can’t do that! Here, come back to Haru.” Haru hastily tries to take the cat back from the elder male, trying to free his arm from the anxious bite of mochi, her new feline friend. You know how mochi likes to stick to everything? Yeah, that’s Mochi. The moment it has it’s hold on you, it’s hard to get him to let go! “Haru’s sorry, Onii-san. Mochi is just scared. You should say you’re sorry to, Mochi.”

The cat meows low in response as if it was actually feeling repentant for what it did, but who doesn’t know how a lot of cats are? Unrepentant little balls of carnage.

Holding the cat in her arms, she was trying to soothe it by gently caressing its head. She has a rising suspicion that a piggy back carry wouldn’t work either because… where would Mochi go? Koala clinging onto his back with his claws? That doesn’t sound like a good idea by any means.

“Do you think this is too far up to ask someone to catch Mochi?” It might be the only option, but it would probably terrify the poor thing. Interesting how asking someone to find a ladder didn’t even cross either of their minds.
