Mornings - Shiro x Fem!Reader

Pairing: Shiro x Reader, established relationship!

Summary: Waking your Space Dad boyfriend up with breakfast in bed as a cute surprise.

Warnings: I don't think there are any just fluff. Enjoy!

You skip down the corridors of the castle, practically flying with how happy you are. You don't know why, you're just in a good mood for once.

You and Shiro are finally together after all the tension between you two. You've now been together for a bit over 2 months. You woke up early today — normally you like sleeping in, so Shiro always comes and wakes you up — but today you decided you'd wake him up for a change.

You stop off at the kitchen to grab some food. You thought it would be a nice surprise for him to have breakfast in bed. He deserves it. He's always working so hard, taking on the leader role. Lance always says he knew you two were going to get together because you're the team's Space Mum and he's the Space Dad, so that means you were destined for each other. You always just laugh at it, but you like to think that too sometimes.

You finish making some pancake equivalents topped with fruit, honey, and melted chocolate drizzled on top with Altean ingredients — thank you Hunk for figuring it out — and you also make some tea on the side. You put all the food, drinks, and utensils on the tray and head out of the kitchen toward Shiro's room.

You keep walking down the corridor, softly singing a song that's been stuck in your head recently. You finally reach Shiro's door and pull yourself out of your thoughts. The door opens for you when you press the button on the side panel — Shiro gave you clearance for it. You step inside the room, the door automatically shutting behind you. The lights are still off and today Allura gave everyone the day off, so Shiro is sleeping in an hour later than when he usually wakes up.

You walk to his bed where he's fast asleep, looking so relaxed and peaceful. You're being extra careful while walking over, trying not to stumble over anything in the dark. You carefully place the breakfast tray on the side table next to his bed. You turn on the bedside lamp, which lets out a soft yellow glow — a stark contrast to the harsh blue and white lights that are normally on.

You sit on the edge of his bed and just admire him for a few seconds. He looks so content and vulnerable, not wearing that serious strong leader mask he normally does, and all you can think about is how you want to wake up to this gorgeous face for the rest of your life.

"Shiro," you whisper, lightly shaking him. "Shirooo," you say a bit louder, shaking him again. This time he wakes up. His eyes widen in surprise and he practically jumps out of bed, tripping over his own feet and landing on the floor.

"Oh my God, Shiro! Are you okay?" you say, half-laughing and half-concerned, a hand over your mouth to stop yourself from laughing fully.

He stands up straight, his back still turned to you. "Y-yeah, I-I'm fine," he stutters adorably. You let out a little laugh at him.

"It's not funny," he grumbles.

"What's not funny?" you tilt your head to the side.

He covers his face with his hands before mumbling, "I'm not dressed," with a light pink flush on his cheeks.

You immediately grin widely, noticing that he's not wearing a shirt and is only in black and white plaid pyjama bottoms.

"Shirooooo, are you embarrassed?" you say in a teasing voice, coming up behind him and wrapping your arms around his waist. You run your hands up and down his abs, appreciating all the hard work he’s put into his exercise over the years. You press your cheek against his back and sigh happily. How did you get so lucky with him? He's perfect in every way.

"N-no I'm n-not embarrassed," he stutters again.

"I can tell you're blushingggggg," you say in a more sing-songy way now.

"Ughhhh (Y/nnnnn)," he groans, pretending to be annoyed, but you know he secretly loves you teasing him like this.

"What?" you feign innocence as he finally turns around and wraps his arms around your waist instead. He doesn’t reply — instead, he tilts your chin up and kisses you, so passionately and soft and rough all at the same time, making you feel all kinds of emotions.

You end up falling on the bed and he lands on top of you. He quickly leans on his elbows, not wanting to crush you. You stare into each other's eyes before you both just burst out laughing.

"You should've seen yourself, you looked so stupid jumping out of bed," you laugh, grinning ear to ear.

"Oh, shut up," he rolls his eyes before smiling and then peppering kisses all over your face, making you laugh even more.

"Heyyy," you whine. "The food's gonna go cold," you pout.

"Awww breakfast in bed? For me? Baby, you spoil me," he pecks your lips, smiling before he helps you sit up straight on his bed.

You both lean against the headboard with a pillow behind you. You bring the tray of food onto his lap and look at him eagerly, waiting for him to try it. He takes a bite of the pancakes and sighs happily.

"Baby, this is so good," he says.

"Only the best for you!" you grin. He wraps an arm around your shoulder, pulling you close and feeding you some of the pancakes while you sip your tea.

You spend the rest of your morning in bed just soaking up each other's presence.
