his parents are divorced and have both remarried. his father and step mother live in south park and have majority custody, but he usually spends his summers with his mom and her husband. they move around a lot so often times its a different house year to year.

his parents divorced when he was pretty young, only around 3 or 4. his father remarried almost immediately, but his mother didn't remarry until he was in his teens

he has an older sister, she's around 15 years older than him. she lives in new york.

they aren't super close, they kind of forget the other exists a lot of the time, but whenever they're together during the holidays or other visits they'll hang out. they text each other about once a month.

every other year, his mom takes him and his sister to visit her family in south korea. they spend about a month there.

of his four parents, he gets along best with his mother, then his step father, then step mother, and lastly his father.

they do not vibe.

occasionally he does worry that firkle will end up like their mother but he does not know how to change this situation. he tries to sign them up for summer camps or just things where they'll have Normal Kid Experiences but they always wind up weaseling their way out of it.

their mom sends them letters sometimes. their dad always always always reads them before he'll hand them off to firkle.

Was made to learn how to sing rabindra sangeet and play harmonium but has long since forgotten. He has a smooth, deep voice and occasionally listens to some Bengali classical music to calm himself down but he doesn't usually sing (Martin finds this out one evening when he hears Jon humming to himself while cooking)

HE MAKES THE BEST BIRYANI. This is a rare Jon occurrence and would probably only happen if he wasn't this Stressed. In this timeline, when he remembers to cook, he'll batch cook plain kitchdi or like make daal sandwiches and hope it works for the week. But in a different timeline - cue archival dinner parties where everyone brings something and he comes with WAY TOO MUCH FOOD because a Bengali party means cooking for 200 people

AU where Jon brings Martin to a cultural event just to spite everyone's homophobic asses and maybe spark wonder in some children. He takes extra joy in the fact that Martin is half-Indian so he introduces the idea of an Indian partner before smacking across the face with the fact that he's Not A Girl.

Speaks Bangla atrociously. He would love to flex his knowledge of another language because it's academic and suggests that he can bitch about you behind your back but does not in fear of being asked to speak it and then being laughed out. Sometimes he will say a few words to himself just to test that old muscle and is fairly pleased at what he can remember. Eye!Jon can speak Bangla perfectly. He refuses to speak it.

I finally got a sprinkle of motivation to finally finish this up, and I am in love. She’s so fun to draw imo, and I wish we knew more about her.

Her little comment about the astroknights make me want to know more about her connections and how this ties in with some islands. Since at least some of the astroknights are from Arturus, does that mean the kingdoms dislike one another or at least the royal families? Fairytale island has magical properties and beings while Astroknights island became more tech based. Sure, Mordred had a hand in that, but the kingdom still uses it.

Anyways, just a quick thought I needed to get out and it happened to go with the drawing. Kind of.

Another topic, but am I seeing things or does the Red Queen’s spaceship look like the ones Binary Bard sends out to attack Arturus? Structure-wise, I mean. Change the red to green, remove the crown, and you got the ships from Astroknight island. Maybe something maybe nothing, but that’s an oddly specific space ship design to use, especially for royalty when they could have gone with a rocket instead or something similar. Maybe it wouldn’t fit in with the airship, but that spaceship design is so specific to Binary Bard’s design!

Where am I going with this? Simple. Either Binary Bard built the spaceship for the Red Queen or someone stole their blueprints for it and used it to make the spaceship for her.

My biggest tip for fanfic writers is this: if you get a character's mannerisms and speech pattern down, you can make them do pretty much whatever you want and it'll feel in character.

Logic: Characters, just like real people, are mallable. There is typically very little that's so truly, heinously out of character that you absolutely cannot make it work under any circumstance. In addition, most fans are also willing to accept characterization stretches if it makes the fic work. Yeah, we all know the villain and the hero wouldn't cuddle for warmth in canon. But if they did do that, how would they do it?

What counts is often not so much 'would the character do this?' and more 'if the character did do this, how would they do it?' If you get 'how' part right, your readers will probably be willing to buy the rest, because it will still feel like their favourite character. But if it doesn't feel like the character anymore, why are they even reading the fic?

Worry less about whether a character would do something, and more about how they'd sound while doing it.

Danny finds a new nap spot. Natives are worried.

Ever since Danny became a Halfa, his house hasn't been the safest place to rest at. Its filled with his parents experiments and automatic weaponry and hasn't felt like home for a while. He feels bad having to sleep at Tucker's place and Sam's parents don't really like him but he needs to rest somewhere.

Cue the Ocean 0.0

He hasn't needed to breathe in a long time and having a secondary source of energy for his core would lessen the amount of food he needed to eat.

It's massive and mysterious and he can explore it until his core is satisfied. The sun makes such nice warm spots perfect for naping and with Clockworks help he can make it there in almost no time.

With his parents spending most of the evening and night in their lab or outside the house, he can spend most of his night sleeping there and with a semi-regular sleep schedule at that.

No one even notices hes gone.

The Atlantians sure know hes there though.

Granted they don't notice he's there at first. He finds the perfect space to sleep and doesn't move until its time to go to the surface, but when they notice. They Notice .

Brave researchers acompanied by soldiers try to collect samples of hair and scale and maybe even blood but come up with little to nothing. While they can touch the being, any attempt to remove anything leads to it slipping through their fingers like the water that surounds them.

The only good thing is that the creature seems to be peaceful, only sleeping and then leaving. (where he leaves to, no one knows. They aren't sure they even want to know)
