Her answers are just as evasive as his own. It almost brings a smile to his face, this game between them. Her response to the question only further confirms his own thoughts. If he was right, indeed their home had changed a lot.

As they return to the traditional dance, her question brings back the cold smile from before. A small, bitter laugh escapes his throat. Leaving it to those who could keep it intact? Oh please. What would a farm boy know of leadership? Had Alm even been raised with the knowledge of ruling, of governing a land and it's people?

"I have my own doubts. Though that hardly matters." The music entered a slight lull, a bit of peace before picking back up again. He shifted, moving carefully against her in the dance to match the steps as he pondered for a moment.

"I would not exactly be welcomed if I were to return." The words are careful, controlled. Giving a bit more information, and hoping for more in return. "Then again that is rather expected of the losing side."

Before she could respond, Berkut slightly breaks them apart. Holding one hand, he carefully guides her in a twirl before bringing her back. He wasn't finished after all. Nor had he ever one to suffer such a game of subtlety for too long. "Though, perhaps those of a more faithful bend don't need to concern themselves with such a thing."

There it is. The slight accusation. Gazing for any hint of reaction. Positive or negative to such a word. If she was a member of the Duma Faithful, or former member, surely there would be some acknowledgement.

An Echoes and Fates Leokumi crossover au of sorts

Headcannons (or more like an outline of the story) under the cut~

·        Hoshido is Zofia and Nohr is Rigel

·        Instead of being posessed Garon just ends up depressed after the death of Katerina and starts to blindly beleive in Duma to overcome his grieth

·        Takumi’s basically Zofian Berkut I guess??

·        and Leo’s a witch  what do you mean only women can be witches. no

·        why? Because Garon wanted to prove his loyality to Duma by offering one of his children to him. Guess who got lucky (and leo’s mom was okay with it as long as she got some money, parents of the year)

·        The fact that Leo’s being a witch is out to the society to promote the whole idea of „Hey, Duma’s a chill guy, give him your children, that’s a great idea I swear”

·        Shortly before Leo became a witch Garon offered a peace treaty to the Hoshidans. Sumeragi set off to Nohr but surprise surprise, it was a trap and he got killed (the Nohr-Hoshido relations were very heated after that but Mikoto’s peace loving demeanor stopped the Hoshidans from grabbing their pitchforks)

·        Oh and MIkoto was off to do the shopping or something so Sumeragi had to take Ryoma, Corrin and Takumi with him seriously why did he even do that in fates, me and Lath literally can’t think of any logical explanation. Garon on the other hand took Xander and Leo (I mean, the only brats he acknowledges to be worthy I guess?) to teach them how to properly greet hoshidan royals

·        Before all of the weird ass killing-the-king bullshit takes place Leo and Takumi are being precious cute kids while they play with each other. Leo also tells Takumi about Duma and how much his father praises him etc. He kinda despises him but along the lines says that he’s supposed to be granting power to his dad. This line sticks in Takumi’s mind for some reason

·        Corrin gets kidnapped, as usual (but this time the Hoshidans actually know that she’s not their sister)

·        Everybody’s angry about it, as usual

·        Garon has a wonderful plan to invade Hoshido by arranging a marriage between Corrin and Takumi (I mean, it’s kinda easier to invade a country while you’re inside of it and stuff). Everyone’s sceptical (very validly, I might add) but Mikoto persuades Takumi to agree. She’s naive, really tired of the whole war ruckus and just wants her daughter back already

·        Taku’s  hating a lot on mila for how she’s not doing anything, letting her people starve etc. This + his somehow semi-positive semi-curious opinion about duma + thirst for power thanks to which he could finally make Hoshido better = taku!berkut. He also did a lot of thinking about all of that over the years

·        Takumi and Leo talk a little during the wedding. Mostly about Duma and avoid the topic of the incident from 8 years ago. Leo gives Takumi subtle signs that „Hey, this guy ain’t as chill as they say, help me. help yourself, just stop doing the berkut thing. bad bercute”

·        Takumi destroys the whole wedding and nopes his way out while becoming a Duma follower. Leo helps him because of the witch buisiness and stuff. In reality he’s prefer everyone to just stop doing the Duma bullshit and later keeps trying to bring him back to being Takumi instead of Berkut!Takumi. Needless to say it doesn’t go too well. Oh and Mikoto dies too. Cuz nobody can stop us

·        It’s nearly 2 a.m, we both just want to go to sleep

·        Leo and Takumi somehow end up together, puff!
