a/n: ahhh thank you for the request!! it's been a long time since i've written a fic like this, so hopefully i can do it some justice!! 💗 (i like skimmed proof-read this so forgive me if there is some grammatical and spelling errors 😭😭)

it has only been two weeks since you first joined the straw hat pirates, and it was definitely a huge change of pace from your life before them. the crew, as eccentric, spontaneous, and bold, as they are were also some of the kindest people you had ever met. you couldn't help but be in total awe of them. i mean- how could you not? the amount of countries they've helped, people freed from oppression, friends they have defended and supported even when the whole world was against them...

it was hard not to feel insignificant, through no fault of theirs, it was just a lot to live up to.... and it was hard to feel enough at times.

while your time being apart of the crew is nothing to write home about, hardly even considering yourself a true member yet, you still couldn't help but be utterly amazed with the people around you, and you just couldn't help yourself but to let them know.

mornings on the sunny were truly a special time. the mouth watering smells leaking out from under the kitchen door, as well as the sounds of a soft melody from brooke's violin fill the ship.

"good morning brooke! what song are you playing? it sounds wonderful!" you ask as you made you way to the kitchen, too eager to see what wonders awaited for breakfast

"yohoho!! just a ballad i've been composing!" he replied, sharing a smile with you before you turn and open the kitchen door.

"it smells delicious sanji!! seriously, im salivating out there! when's breakfast going to be ready?"

a faint blush appeared on his cheeks, but after a quick drag from his cigarette he quickly regains his composure "you're actually right on time! i just finished up!!"

after breakfast, you weren't surprised to find zoro working out, as he had told you "any second not training, drinking, or sleeping, is a waste" one of your first nights on the ship. you watched in awe as he carried an inhuman amount of weight with ease, not even breaking a sweat.

feeling your stare, his eyes wander to meet yours, "need something?"

"oh! um.. no sorry!! i just can't believe you can lift that so easily!! you're not even sweating!"

"well yeah, this is just my warm up" he replied, a small smirk appearing from the corner of his lips as you wandered away

in the girl's shared bedroom, you found nami hunched over her desk, carefully and slowly drawings lines for yet another one of her maps. it had been a few days since you had seen this particular map, so you quietly peered over her shoulder to see her progress

"nami, this is incredible!! i could've sworn two days ago there was only a vague outline on this page!! look at that detail!!"

she turned around, beaming at you "thanks!! after years of practice i could draw a map this simple with my eyes closed!"

the sounds of sawing and nails being pounded into wood grew too loud for you to ignore, so you finally decided to leave the girls room to see what the commotion was all about.

in the three seconds it took you to get to the door, the sounds had ceased. curiosity overtaking you, you couldn't help but step out and see what had caused it all.

the first think that caught your eye was a small greenhouse the seemingly appeared out of thin air, since it definitely wasn't here earlier, and usopp and franky opening up some colas nearby

chopper ran up to you, giddy with excitement "do you want to see the new greenhouse usopp and franky made? its perfect for all my medicinal herbs! now i can grow them here on the sunny!!"

taking the small deers hoof into your hand, you followed him down the stairs to the greenhouse. "wow!!! you guys just built this?"

"franky drew up the plans after breakfast and did the labor, and i added a special watering system!" usopp chimes in, ready to boast about their design, and for good reason

"consider me impressed!!! i may even dare to say that it's SUPER!" you proclaim, earning giggles from all three of the boys

the following morning you woke up with a purpose. stars still in the sky from how early it was, you tiptoed out of the shared bedroom and to the kitchen. trying to be as quiet as possible, not wanting anyone to hear you, you turned on the lights and gathered the ingredients to make some lemon bars, as a thank you for the crew, they did save your life after all.

as you baked, occasionally glancing out the kitchen window every once in a while you slowly saw the stars leave the sky, the moon disappear, and the sun slowly beginning to rise. its just about dawn now and your lemon bars had finally finished chilling, ready to be cut and served.

sanji, a typical early riser since he has to prep and cook breakfast, opened the kitchen door shocked to see the lights already on and you inside. "oh! mellorine!! i didn't expect to see your beautiful face this early! to what do i owe this pleasure?" he asks.

"sanji.. i'm not- um.... i just made some lemon bars... as a thank you for the crew.. maybe we could eat them with breakfast if thats okay..."

"of course we can!!! im sure i can whip up some stuff that would compliment them perfectly! get some rest! it's still super early, i'll call when breakfast is ready!"

"breakfast!!!" sanji's voice rings throughout the sunny, and slowly but surely everyone made their way to the kitchen, you being the last to arrive. once you had been seated, you noticed sanji walking his way over to the table, with your tray of lemon bars in hand as he announces "this morning we also have a very special dish prepared by our newest member!"

luffy's eyes widen as he looks over at you and practically shouts in excitement "wow!! i didn't know you could cook! what did you make? im sure its amazing!!! i want some!!"

with all eyes on you, you couldn't help but feel a bit shy, the confidence and determination you had this morning suddenly dissipated "just some lemon bars... its really nothing special... i just wanted to thank you guys.. for everything.. it's just you're all so amazing, you guys are crazy talented and strong and so kind and thoughtful... its really nothing special... i'm sure they don't even hold a candle to the elaborate desserts sanji makes every night..." you mumble, cheeks burning red with embarrassment.

"i'm sure they're delicious! definitely better than anything our captain could ever make" nami says with a sly smile. "all this talk about food is making me even more hungry!! let's finally eat guys!" luffy shouts, grabbing for the closest plate of food to him, too impatient to wait any longer.

one chaotic, fast and messy breakfast later, and all the plates on the table were practically licked clean.

"thank you for breakfast sanji, you outdid yourself as always! those omelets and the potatoes, freshly squeezed orange juice, delicious as always!" you said absolutely glowing, sanji's breakfasts truly were the best, you wonder how you ever lived a life without them before.

"thank you mellorine!! but those lemon bars! they were divine!! who taught you how to bake?" he asks.

before you can get a reply in, the entire crew bursts into an uproar of compliments.

"yeah!!! i never knew you could make stuff like that!! i might have you replace sanji!!!" luffy exclaims

"i totally would've thought sanji made them if you hadn't said anything!" nami says, usopp nodding along and adding "yeah!! i was totally worried they would be bad at first because you seemed so nervous, but i can't believe sanji didn't make them!"

a soft spoken "absolutely delicious" coming from robin

zoro, lifting his head up and meeting you eyes, decided to chime in on the topic "i guess they were good." but after an intense glare from sanji then mumbles "...really good" his cheeks flushing ever so slightly.

"they were SUPER!!!!" franky shouts, causing luffy, chopper, and usopp to giggle.

and by this point, the compliments became a bit overwhelming. you didn't feel confident enough to accept them, but didn't want to be rude and ignore them either. your silence was definitely noticed by the crew who began to quiet down a bit as your face grew hotter and hotter, blush way too visible to hide behind your hair, you looked down and muttered as quietly as possible "they're really nothing special... im glad you guys liked them though..." and rushed out of the kitchen as fast as you possibly could.

you retreated to the crow's nest to collect yourself. it was truly the perfect spot on the sunny to get some alone time. out of sight from everyone, but still in a spot where you can enjoy the warm sun, the ocean breeze, and the sound of the waves crashing as you sail the sea.

thankfully, you managed to leave a book up here the previous day, so once you caught your breath and the blush cleared from your face, you read. just to take your mind off of the interaction with the crew.

you weren't sure how much time had passed, as you had gotten unexpectedly absorbed in the story of your book, but it wasn't until you heard the sound of a lighter.

you look up to meet the sky-blue eyes of sanji, he takes a drag of his cigarette before taking a seat on the floor next to you. the two of you sat together for moment of silence, minus the sound of the waves beneath you both. a quiet sigh leaves his mouth, before he breaks the silence "i just wanted to apologize. i didn't mean to put you on the spot in there. we didn't mean to make you uncomfortable."

"no you don't owe me an apology! really! it's fine!! i know you guys were just trying to be nice and compliment me but.... i don't know... " you paused to collect your thoughts for a second. trying to word how you felt. sanji waiting patiently, taking a couple drags before you finally found the words to continue talking.

"it's just hard sometimes.. to feel like i'm good enough... especially around you guys, i mean the countless people and countries you guys have saved, your strength, your kindness... sometimes, i guess i just feel like a fraud being in the same crew..."

sanji took a moment to consider your words and feelings, and with a quiet sigh said "yeah.. i get it. it's funny because i actually feel the same way sometimes... but you know, luffy chose you to be here for a reason, and even if you don't see that, he does. we all do. we all serve a purpose on the crew, one thats invaluable to our captain, and he has no doubts about what that is."

finally turning to meet those sky-blue eyes, you looked at sanji with a small smile. "thanks, that really means a lot.."

he returned your smile with a bigger one and replied "of course!! i mean.... come on, those were some damn good lemon bars and i think luffy would kill me if you never made them again."

you shoved his shoulder, and in between laughs, you look over and sanji and reply "whatever!!"

and it was at this moment, for the very first time under the warm summer sun and ocean breeze blowing through your hair and the faint smell of sanji's cigarette smoke, that you began to felt a little more sure of your place in the straw hat pirates...

BODY SEARCH MASTERLIST

The salt air is sticky and tangy on everyone’s tongue, mouths wide open in shrieking laughter and joyous squeals. A much needed break, it was today, the repeat of the day before and the day after, that the group had decided to head down to the beach. 

“I can feel my lungs close around me. I can’t breathe guys. I can see the light.” Heesung was sprawled across the stone bench of the school park, while Sunghoon chewed on a mango popsicle and eyed his friend wearily, annoyed by his complaints. “Heesung, you’d probably stop dying if you complained less”, said Sunoo, equally fed up with Heesung - not because the boy was in any serious danger. No, he just missed his girlfriend. Giselle, it seemed, reveled in the time she had with Y/N and NingNing, which made her boyfriend’s spirits shrivel as he was left to hangout with the other boys of their group. “You don’t get it, you guys. It’s withdrawal symptoms. Oh Jungwonie, I can barely even see you, my vision is going out.” Jungwon called out from where he was - completely opposite and in no way near Heesung’s line of sight, as he exclaimed, “I’m nowhere even near you dipshit, of course you can’t see me!”

Jay was sort of done with Heesung’s whining, and if he had to hear about how much Giselle would save Heesung from his fate, his head would explode. So he did the only thing he could think of, the only solution - he dialed Y/N. He had just remembered to ask her for her phone number just yesterday, when they walked to class together. Hands intertwined, sharing warmth, it certainly made his classmates raise hell when they saw the school loner with the school’s golden goose. But it didn’t matter, because they didn’t remember anything today anyways. 

The memory of yesterday still had his heart leaping in gleeful somersaults inside him, as he remembered just how beautiful Y/N looked under the waning glow of the sunlight, hair caressing the sides of her face softly, skin that he was sure would feel like heaven under his touch. Maybe if he got bold enough, one day he’d get there. One day, where the sun rose for a second time to greet a different day. 

“Jay, you’re thinking something again”. Y/N pointed out as she noticed the furrow in his brow. “Nothing, nothing”. The pair kept walking down, hands now swinging in mild amusement of their circumstances. Now they were recounting their hilarious fails from all their deathly escapades every night - “I honestly don’t know how she found us in the pool! And seriously, I don’t know what got into NingNing that made her think hiding in the pool - a body of water where we can drown easily is a wonderful idea!” Y/N animatedly recounted to Jay, hands flying about as she chatted along in enthusiasm, Jay hanging on to her every word with wonder, as he gazed upon the girl who seemed more talkative than ever now that she’d broken out of her shell. “Wait, you can’t swim?”, asked Jay, who was now more than amused as he got to know of this little tidbit. “Hey, that’s not what you should be focusing on right now.”, she laughed and swatted his arm. “No, no. I just think it’s cute that you haven’t learnt even after the water park.” “Well back then I had you, didn’t I?”. Y/N looked at him with a twinkling mirth, which made his breath hitch in his throat. And having no idea where the surge of confidence came from, he just looked right back into her eyes, and said, “Aw, so you still need me to save you? Just stay close to me, like I said”, flexing a bicep up, he added, “I can fight.”

In any other case, this would’ve had Y/N cringing. But this was Jay. Tall, smart, muscular and chivalrous Jay. So obviously, it just had Y/N standing in a flustered mess as gaping eyes stared into him. Breaking out of the embarrassing stupor, she just continued along, tugging at the boy who was now sporting a confidence in his gait, “Alright, alright we get it, basketball captain.” Offhandedly, she also said, “At least we know Sunghoon can’t save me since he’ll be busy saving Ning”, in reference to the newfound knowledge she had about her friend’s feelings, when she gasped in realization about what she’d spilled. Looking at Jay in shock, she hastily waved her hands around, trying to undo the damage. “Forget I said that! Who even is Sunghoon? I don’t know anyone with that name!”, laughing unsurely. Jay just slowly grabbed the palm of her hand that she’d let go from his, pulling her closer by just an inch to him, as he said smugly, “Don’t worry, I know. Who do you think has been wingman for both of them?”. That’s when Y/N remembered why NingNing and Jay would hangout so often. Softening up from her slip up, her hand relaxed into his as they kept going again. “Yeah, Ning told me and Giselle while we were talking about our crushes.” “Our crushes?”, asked Jay, which had Y/N slightly stiffening up again. Damn Park Jay, she thought, he has me spilling everything out in the open just like that. “Ning has a crush on Hoon, we know this. Giselle and Heesung have been together since eternity. So ‘our’ here would also mean the crush you have on someone, right?”. Damn that Park Jay, was all Y/N could think as she laughed nervously and said, “Well not necessarily right? I don’t think so.” Jay halted Y/N again, still holding her hand. The smile he gave her was dazzling this time, and it seemed that Y/N was collecting all of his charming grins like a bouquet in her mind. “That’s a slight relief.” “Why?” Y/N was confused. Not meeting her eyes, he just said, “Wouldn’t want the prettiest girl in school falling for anyone else now, would we?”

That was yesterday. And today, as Jay had dialed up Y/N and explained Heesung’s lamentations, a half-annoyed, half-charmed Giselle had just asked the boys to meet the girls where they were planning to go - the beach. To have a day off, and as a celebration. Because the group had achieved something they were building up to for a while - they’d collected almost all of the body parts. In fact, only one crucial part was missing. The head. The head of the missing, dead girl was all they had to find, to brave past the girl covered in blood bent on haunting them. 

“Last one in the water loses!”, called out an excited Jungwon, breezing past the girls in his striped tank top and pineapple beach shorts. “Someone’s excited”, commented Riki, who was lugging along a picnic basket he’d arranged impromptu. The youngest of their group, albeit quiet, was one of the most thoughtful juniors Y/N had met. Thanking him for his gesture, he just laughed and gave her a cheeky salute as he joined Jake, wrestling the older yet shorter boy into the water. The excited screams of the group were a much-needed contrast from the blood-curdling ones they heard during their deathly games. The girls had quickly changed from their coverups into their beachwear, and Y/N was involved in a serious game of beach volleyball with NingNing on her team, against Sunghoon and Jay. Giselle was lounging on the beach towel as Heesung, who finally got the girlfriend time he was deprived of, sat next to her, lathering sunscreen onto himself. “How is this split even fair? You guys are literally trained athletes”, complained the ever-competitive NingNing, who also did have a fair point. “Fine then, let’s switch. Sunghoon, join NingNing. I’ll join Y/N”. The double intention of these actions didn’t fly past anyone, as all four of them seemed to be hyper aware of themselves now. Sunghoon, who simply greeted Ning with a nod and cleared his throat as he set his eyes on the ball that Jay was serving, stood opposite Y/N, who was also watching Jay, for completely different reasons. The way the heat beating down on them made him sweat, the sheen covering his tan skin deliciously. The way he posed with accuracy with the ball, slender yet toned arms accentuating his biceps. Jay served the ball with precision, and it was immediately received by NingNing as she expertly passed it over to where Y/N was, blushing as Sunghoon praised her as she did. Y/N also caught the ball with a dip, hitting right over the net by a bare minimum, which had Sunghoon pile diving into the sand to catch.

The game went on until Sunghoon and NingNing won, the pair high fiving each other, giggling to each other with burning ears, praising the way they both handled themselves. A teasing Jay made his way to where Y/N was, dusting the sand off her shorts. “You know what, let me buy you an ice cream. Let’s celebrate how we held our own against the Ice Prince and his Class President Princess over there.” Glancing over to where NingNing and Sunghoon were still talking amongst themselves, now much more calm and with eyes fixed on each other, Y/N simply nodded as she followed Jay along to the corner store right by the beach. After paying the vendor, the two of them sat on the staircase that led to the beach, simply enjoying the weather, the view and the company. A silence that blanketed them in comfort, not awkwardness. “Y/N.” Jay broke the silence suddenly, but not startlingly. “Hmm”, Y/N hummed in response, curious as to what the boy wanted to ask. “Have an ice cream with me tomorrow as well?”, he asked. “Sure, why not”, Y/N said, not thinking too much into it. Her and Jay were hanging out quite frequently anyways, and this was not all that of a strange request from him. “No, I mean the real tomorrow. A tomorrow that isn’t a Tuesday again. A tomorrow where the sun rises over a new time”. His eyes were determined as he looked at where she sat. There was no guarantee in this. This wasn’t one of Jay’s basketball games where the outcome of the match could be predicted. But the way Y/N’s hand was on top of his palm, her body leaned slightly into him, and from the way she smiled at him all the time - he had a feeling the odds were in his favor. “What do you say?”

The hope that was in the air was buzzing. It was thrown into the wind along with caution, and it was about whether Y/N would catch onto it. 

“Yes, Jay. I’ll have ice cream with you tomorrow.”

A promise. 

A promise between two hearts, young and beating with life and purpose. A promise that neither of the two hearts were sure they’d be able to keep. 

“Guys, come here!”. The urgence in the outcry of Giselle’s voice made the two run as fast as they could, kicking up sand to where the rest of the group had already assembled. Sunoo was on the sand, clutching the bag which contained all the evidence Jungwon had collected regarding the body search. “I was looking for my sunglasses in this bag, when I saw it.” There seemed to be nothing out of the ordinary in what Sunoo was clutching, the newspaper article and the books. That’s when Y/N looked to see the color draining from Jay’s face, and the rest of her friends looking right at her in indescribable fear. And when she looked down again at the newspaper, she saw the difference. 

‘10 year old Y/N Y/L/N brutally murdered along with her parents at Sakcho WaterPark by unknown intruder ; body of the deceased is yet to be found.’

Take A Break

"Rollo," Your voice was soft and riddled with concern. You watched him work through an obnoxiously large pile of papers with a frown. "Rollo, you need to take a break, you've been here for ages."

It took a moment or two for Rollo to respond. Slowly, his gaze left his work to look at you with tired eyes burdened by large black circles.

"I need to finish this," He insisted, not for the first time. "It has to be done."

Before he could turn back to the endless collection of papers, you grabbed his hand.

"It's a beautiful summer's day." You pressed. "There's a lake I know in a nearby park. We can sit under the trees for a while, maybe get a snack, then you can come back."

Rollo sighed and tapped his pen. "Mon chéri, I have so much on my plate, I don't have time..."

He trailed off, blinking as your face morphed into a wide-eyed mournful expression.

"Please?"

"I-" Rollo started, flushing and pinching the bridge of his nose. "Puppy dog eyes? Seriously?"

"As serious as the dead." You insisted.

Rollo gazed at you with a single eyebrow raised before closing his eyes and sighing in defeat.

"Alright. Where shall we go?"

i have been wanting to get my drivers license for over 2 years now and have made no progress 😀 honestly its one of the only things keeping me living with my parents but i still cant find the motivation to work seriously towards it

heheh, hallo fellow CrossStitch fan! i'll answer these for Soul Eater.

👻 What is your wildest headcanon?

probably that spirit never cheated. i have made many a tumblr post about this (man i should have tagged those explicitly....) and whenever i bring up the topic (except to a couple good friends) it creates instant ire, backlash, arguments... i rather think there's an entire discord server that dislikes me due to this very headcanon looool.... but the thing is, i don't think it's a wild idea! just everyone else does. meanwhile 1) a five year old maka whose mama is gone is not a reliable narrator, and 2) a divorced man is allowed to cast his gaze elsewhere, and 3) we truly have no evidence he ever did cheat. literally all we have is toddler maka's claims and the scenes she shows us in that flashback from the first prologue are easily, easily interpreted as people fawning over a celebrity and spirit is THE celebrity (and dancing with people is normal social behavior since when is dancing with not your spouse a crime???? in what culture???? seriously). i have written essays on this AND I'LL WRITE THEM AGAIN! stopping myself here or i'll go on for ages.

💡How many WIPs do you currently have?

for.... just soul eater.... uhm. well. if we count individual documents, approximately 50. but three to four of those documents are....anthologies, with many many one-shots contained therein.... so we're looking at closer to 80 WIPs just for soul eater..... and most but not all of those are stein/spirit focused or focused on one of the two. i do have other things tho, like a soul-centric pre-canon multi-chap huehue. if we wanna talk about all my fandoms tho.... uh well... for kim possible (Drakgo ship mostly) there's over 300 WIPs.... let's ballpark my total across all fandoms at approximately 500 💀💦💦💦💦💦

🎨 If someone were to make fanart of your work, what fic or scene would you hope to see?

oh goodness... i truly don't know. i've already received so much beautiful fanart, and it's utterly humbling. i think... the true answer to this is, i want to see what impacted a reader. if there were a specific moment or scene or line or look that meant something to a reader, then i'd want to see that expressed. as a writer i love knowing how my writing impacts others. so to know what meant something to someone else would be the greatest gift.

Hi! I just got into TF in the last month or so, and TEG was one of the 1st fics I read. I knew nothing about mtmte or rodimus and was still working my way through the first season of TFP when I started it and yet I loved it! You were able to explain just enough that I didn't feel lost but was still left curious and wanting to read mtmte, which I'm working my way thru now :]

I read TEG over the course of about 5 days and finished it about 2 weeks ago. I'm still rotating it in my head. I've even recommended it to my friend who's reading it rn, and sharing my fandoms and fandom related stuff is not usually something I do but your fic is what gave me that push and now I feel like I'm better friends with the previously mentioned friend for it. The night I posted the first chapter I was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo nervous. I thought everyone would think it was stupid, or stupid and ridiculous, or absolutely nuts, etc etc. I really thought only a few people would read it. I thought maybe I wasn't a good enough writer to pull off the idea. But I POSTED IT because I WANTED to and I wasn't even sure if I was going to finish it. I didn't know if it was going to be worth all the effort, but I posted that first chapter anyway. hahaha. So. Uh. I guess the answer to your question is: I didn't have confidence, but I did it anyway.

Partly: I really felt the idea was a good one and I wanted to see it through to prove to myself I could do it, and do it well

Partly: I quickly acquired an audience and felt pressure to continue it/not give up (do you think leaving a comment won't matter? it LITERALLY MATTERS SO MUCH)

Partly: I really wanted to prove to whoever would read it that crackfic could be good, and weird rarepairs could be well done, and fanfic can be just as good as published work

[Note on "crackfic:" I used to write a ton of fic, and then I left fic writing for a long time, and when I came back, that was the best term I knew to describe what I was writing. Back then, "crackfic" was the word I would've used to describe such a bizarre rarepair, and I wanted people to know that I was going to approach the pairing seriously, so I put that "crackpair but taken seriously" tag on the fic. I've seen some takes like "ALL crackpairs are taken seriously" and like, okay maybe now but, not in like 2002.]

I kept with it because it took up a huge amount of my brain. I thought about the fic all the time- even during those long month spans where no chapters were uploaded. It was a big part of my personal life for a really long time. There were several points where I wanted to give up, but I'm glad I didn't.

So I guess I kept up with it to see if I could, to finish it and make it 'real' in a sense, to meet expectations of a wide readership, and because I can't charge it rent, so I needed to get it out.

Alrighty LET'S GET INTO IT!!!!

1. How did Otto first end up at the school?

It's kind of a long story...? He's been on the streets with a rag tag group of mutants (the sinister six hehehe) for a while. At some point Wolverine stepped in and saved him from an undecided something (still working on specifics I literally thought of half of this over the last two days sorry </3) and offered to take him to the mansion, but he didn't have his morals quite sorted out and he was scared of being around so many people, so he turned it down. Eventually magneto recruits the rest of the sinister six, and Otto, knowing magneto is against the X-Men, felt like he couldn't join them, not after Wolverine saved him that time. BUT!!! I do think there would be some REALLY neat moral dillemmas there because Otto absolutely is on Magneto's side, he just ends up loving the X-Men and isn't able to bring himself to leave.

2. How does he generally act around the other mutants?

When you say mutants I'm going to assume you mean other students at the mansion AND!!! he really struggles with talking to them. Just like in MSM he looks oddly young behaves like a middle aged man, so no one can tell how old he is. Some people bet he's young and messed up, and some people bet he's old but his mutation has him age slower like with Mystique or Logan. Since the rest of the kids are hard to socialize with, he usually sticks by all the adults. He doesn't even talk much, but he appreciates how they take him seriously when he does. The sort of professional and parental way they treat him is a LOT easier to navigate than the energetic and sibling-like way the rest of the students treat him. When he HAS to be around them though, he's very standoffish and tries to speak as little as humanly possible, often only correcting them or making observations during training exercises. Despite how rude everyone thinks he is, they are a little fascinated by him.

3. Who does he like and dislike?

Beast is probably the person he's most open with! He and Hank are science buds and work in the lab together. Whenever Otto is working on something, Hank manages to get him to talk about his past or feelings on books, whereas most people can't get him to talk about anything.

Ororo is nice, they sit in silence together sometimes and Otto doesn't mind it. Neither does she. She often checks in on him in very simple ways; asking if he's eaten anything after a long day at the lab, offering to walk with him to the infirmary after a taxing mission. He wouldn't admit it, but he feels safe around her.

Charles knows the most about his past, mostly because if the involvement with megneto and needing to know where Otto stands. Otto recognizes the necessity to be open with Charles since he's running the whole operation, but he doesn't like being alone with him. He doesn't really trust Charles to stay out of his head.

Logan is just as protective of Otto as he is all of the other students, and Otto finds that... Comforting. He isn't used to people caring about him. Logan was the one who first called him out for being an asshole and inspired him to try and be better. Logan's helping him learn, and often encourages him to hang out with the other kids. Whenever Logan is in charge of a training session he makes sure Otto is with people that cooperate well with him, like Scott or Kitty.

Scott, while he doesn't quite get Otto and thinks it's a little awkward to be around him, does work the best as a teammate with him. Scott tends to give very clear and concise orders that Otto can follow easily, and listens when Otto has worthwhile input. Their relationship doesn't go too much further other than some awkward small talk. This goes for Jean, too.

SPEEDRUN KIDS AROUND HIS AGE TIME

Kurt - thinks he's weird and little too silly but kinda likes him anyway

Kitty - doesn't get her, but doesn't mind listening to her yap.

Rogue - they have a mutual understanding: they're both sulky and quiet, and of any of the kids, Otto prefers to be around her the most.

He pretty much avoids the kids younger than them like the plague.

4. What was home life like for him, especially as a mutant?

Funny you should ask. I'm still kind of working this out, BUT! justr like in MSM, he has the abusive father. He mutated around the age of twelve, to which his dad got worse, as one might imagine. The whole "Ugh my son is more of a freak than he already was" sorta deal. This is where I'm still on the fence about things: Otto lashes out one day and either A: injures him so badly he won't ever be same, or B: kills him. This would instill a fear of himself and his temper paired with his powers that he needs the X-Men to help him work past. Also, it would help reinforce his initial hesitation to join the X-Men.

5. How does Anna Maria first react to the breaking the law thing and the after effects?

She struggles 😭

It's gonna be really hard to see her family again, she lost her job, it's rough. She feels guilty for being involved with the MRD at all, she wanted to help mutants so bad. She has some pretty gnarly depressive episodes, but being around such a big chaotic family really helps keep her feeling okay. She likes spending time with Otto, and honestly they have this super cute highschool type crush sorta thing happening? And Otto is pretty oblivious to her hints despite him liking her??? It's cute idk hehe

6. How do other people at the school first react when she shows up?

To put it simply, they don't trust her. Despite her risking everything to break Otto out, she aligned herself with the MRD at some point, no matter how good her intentions were. Some of the kids never trust her, they've been traumatized too heavily by the organization, but most people warm up pretty quick. She's charming, fun, and kind. Because she's studied mutants and biochemistry, she's a real huge help with learning more about new kids and how to help control their powers.

I honestly can’t remember, it was either Square Hammer or something off of Prequelle because 2018/19 was around the time finally I started casually listening to Ghost after knowing about them since 2013 lol

Favourite album:

Prequelle my beloved. I genuinely adore all of the albums and EPs, there is yet to be a Ghost song I don’t love, but Prequelle is just. Ugh. It’s so good. You can’t convince me otherwise

Album you think is underrated:

Infestissumam AND Opus! I feel like both of them don’t get as much love as they deserve, especially Infestissumam

4 & 5 specifically for the costuming and set designs from both of these eras. I’m a total slag for stained glass, especially the stained glass for era 5

Favourite costume design:

Honestly, I think the two costumes of Perpetua’s that we’ve seen might be shaping up to be my new favourites. I love his silver mask and the fact that his robes are dripping with jewels and metalwork and big fuck off skeleton hands. But before his reveal it was Copia’s blue chausble, also because he was thoroughly jewelled and I’m also a slag for heavily decorated costumes

1 costume (hypothetical or used before) you’d like to see:

BDSM Hellraiser cassock my beloved😩 either that or the original designs for Terzo’s suit, he looked very Vampire: The Masquerade which I LOVE

Favourite gig/live performance:

I couldn’t pick one if I tried! Mostly because I don’t often actually watch videos of the shows and have missed every single local gig since getting into the band that I don’t have much to pick from. I guess I’ll have to go with the 2020 show where Nihil pegged it playing his sax. Rock on, grandpa😔🙏

What makes them your favourite Papa:

He’s just like me for realsies. But seriously, I think because he was the first Papa I was actually around for (I don’t count Secondo despite having a poster of him on my wall back in the day) I definitely made more of a connection to his character than any of the others. I love all the other Papas, but Copia is my special little guy I can project onto because I see a lot of myself in him and that makes me love him all the more

Cirrus my beloved. My wife. My beautiful girl. I am very normal about her :)

What makes them your favourite ghoul/ette:

I love seeing her bounce around when it’s her turn to do the Mummy Dust solo, she’s just having a great time and I love that for her. Also, women pretty :) :) :)

1 thing you’re most looking forward to in the upcoming tour cycle:

New tunesssss! I’m always very excited when a band I like puts out new music and considering just How Much I like Ghost, it’s easy to say I am very very very excited to hear the new album

1 thing you’d ask in a Q&A:

Ooft. I’m shite at Q&As, there’s a reason why I never participate in them. I would probably ask something about the set design and the imagery used in the backdrops since I studied that a bit in college and have always had an interest in it
