          Jaw almost dropped the moment Helena’s words flew out of her lips. She was about to reply she didn’t need anyone to save her... && that was what she had thought for most of her life. Helena saved her though, not that she had not been able to take care of herself but.. Savant used a nasty move.

&& now, she felt like people, her friends, Oracle && Huntress thought she wasn’t able to take care of herself.      “Don’t mother me.”     It was different from Helena not wanting help, not wanting to be part of the Birds. It’s just Dinah was able && not vulnerable. But perhaps... Helena saw more than what she let them see...

Dinah would protect her friend at any cost, she would even sacrifice herself for Helena. Just like she was about to act for Babs, so she could walk again...

A team. No they weren’t a team. Dinah shook her head with a light frown across her face.

They were family.

Helena’s eyes through her cowl betrayed worries towards the canary. ( come on Di, put your pride aside, you’re not Babs ).

She nodded, her features softened, less on the defensive now,     “Alright... as long as you let me watch your back too.”     Dinah’s gloved fingers curled around the purple ones to give it a gentle squeeze.

This happened on my Dick Grayson (Agent 37) blog and it was when I finally found a Helena Bertinelli RPer who was willing to write the new 52, Grayson version of the character ‘Matron’ Bertinelli.  Ever since I created that Dick Grayson blog in May of 2015, I spent months searching for Matron RPers, asking any and all Helena Bertinelli RPers if they’d be willing to portray that muse, to no avail.  One of the best parts of Grayson was Matron and the evolving relationship between her and Dick Grayson.  Then @cacciatriice came along and was anxious to write Matron Bertinelli, despite her initial reluctance towards the new 52 iteration of Helena.  The mun might think that her protracted response times irked me, but the fact that she was willing to give that version of the character a chance, when no one else in the DC fandom wanted to do so was the best RP experience I’ve ever had on tumblr.
