I really wish I could anon :'> we tried to think of non-spoiler-y lore we could share but turns out every aspect of his character is either a. major spoilers or b. a near-direct echo of canon but make it atla flavoured (ie. his relationships w/ geto/shoko/nanami/haibara; him being The Strongest(tm) in-universe, etc). I guess there's technically the satosugu betrothal but that's already Public Knowledge given that there's art, plus the details are (surprise!) more spoilers

During the brainstorming phase of Cryptid Sightings (so so long ago,) one concept I was fiddling with was demonic cryptids couldn't enter sunlight. They simply can't exist in such brightness due to their nature, except for, of course, Eclipse aka Sun while possessing a vessel. I even had a scene in mind of Moon cornering some poor sucker cryptid at the crack of dawn after said cryptid threatened/harmed Y/N. The cryptid taunted Moon by saying how he couldn't get them now—they were in the sunlight.

And Moon smiled wide, black goo seeping from between the faceplate's teeth as he stepped into the morning brightness, the vessel shifting to bright yellows and reds, and now bearing a terrible grin of ink and teeth.

"Oh, but I can, friend."

The ratchanting divorce isn't gonna happen because, Ren is overly friendly/trusting & doesn't know what the word "no" means and Martyn doesn't ever communicate his feelings/thoughts about anything that bothers him(because gods forbid we have healthy communications in minecraft smps/j)

It's gonna happen because Martyn was never even supposed to come back to the rats world in the first place and even so he still has a mission given to him to complete and at the end of every mission he has to leave the world he completed it in. So even if it wasn't rats but another world where everything played out exactly the same, the ultimate outcome of the situation would have been the same, that's just how it's supposed to be. No matter how long he has stayed there, no matter how attached he gets to everyone he meets, he still has to leave it all behind if he wants to make it back to his own world/reality(<<<idk???)

So in short, it was always gonna happen but it is only now hitting us all cause it's happening right now and it's as sad & angsty as we could have predicted

slowly comes into his own over the years, with his softer side finally showing itself mainly when Aurene chooses him

this rat was the softest little guy wherever she was concerned

no seriously he was almost as clingy with her as she was

Caithe was the serious parent he was the fun uncle/big bro

he used to race her up the jumping puzzle in the egg room

largely wanted her to get to have the childhood he never did

he still play-wrestled with her even once she was 1000x his size

his bond to Aurene helps stabilize his magic significantly

there is an inverted bell-curve of 'respect for the Commander' based on how much experience one has with him

step 1: celebrity hero. step 2: violently insane. step 3: ok yes he's insane but also thank every divinity he's on OUR side

actually did NOT get along with Gorrik at first. he is a grade A projector and also distrusts anyone Inquest immediately

Gorrik being enamored by the murderous beetles did not help.

after multiple interventions and a few sincere heart-to-hearts though he's become EXTREMELY protective of the guy

i'm 100% certain i want sunday to be maruki in this au but everyone else is subject to change. my current two thoughts for ratio is either yusuke or sojiro but i don't know maybe i'll think of someone better (maybe the math(?) teacher who throws chalk at you...)

my plan for this is to draw up all the HSR characters I want to add into this (phantom thieves, confidants, etc.) as the base P5 character i thought for them, post it here and see what everyone thinks/any criticisms stuff like that and see if a different P5 character would better suit the HSR character

but yusuke! ratio's outfit is definitely inspired by havanillas werewolf! ratio. he looks a little goofy though because this is my first time trying to draw a muscular person so let me know how i did 👍

but my goal is to eventually have all the characters given a set role (like how sunday will be maruki) and make an hsr x p5 comic
