*me and my dad watching the Dead Zone movie*
me (who's read the book several times, it's one of my favorites): they changed his coma from 4 years to 5 years...
my dad: maybe 5 years is more cinematic?
me: yeah but it's not a good sign. if they're willing to change such a small detail that has no bearing on how the book is told in a movie, who knows what other details they might just change for the hell of it?
me after the movie: yep i was right

OITNG Chapter 7
Let's go to the movies Chloe was standing in front of a judge dressed in her best attire, a black dress with her signature boots and her beanie. It had a week since the whole food fight incident, she still had to pay off the money she owed Max, Rachel and Victoria. 'I would've gotten away with it' she thought as the judge was reading off the incidents that she has done now and in the past, she looked into the seating area where her mother was sitting with her stepfather. Max couldn't come but wished her good luck, Rachel had stuff to do but said she would be by her place later if her parents allowed it. Finally after what seemed like an hour, the judge hit the gavel. "This has got to be the worst case of vandalism, trespassing, destruction I've seen in my 20 years of this line of work...normally you would get jail time for this but you should thank your stepfather for this, he has made a deal with the DA for you get to a lesser sentence. 5 years of community service and staying away from any public shopping center for 8 years. You will working on bettering the community along with yourself. Your stepfather says the school you used to go to umm Blackwell academy needs more security guards so you will be following and helping him for those 3 years and the next 2 years helping out at soup kitchens" *gavel bangs* "next case!" The judge says. Chloe's jaw drops as she is released into the hands on her parents, the drive home is silent. She is shocked 'I can't believe I have to spend the next 3 years helping out stepdouche' she thought as the car stopped in the driveway. "You start work on Monday" David says as they get out of the car. "Yeah sure" Chloe says she swiftly walks into the house 'wait til Rachel hears about my punishment'. At Blackwell, today was finally the day that Max and Victoria were going to hang out without any pranks or bets being made. The plan for the two of them is for dinner, a movie and finishing off with a sleepover in Victoria's room. Max packed her overnight bag, hoping that nothing bad would happen during their time together as she texted Victoria saying she was ready. A lot has changed between them after what happened with the mall fiasco, they text frequently now, get coffee every morning discussing about life, and even sit together in class and crack jokes only the two of them know. Max couldn't shake the nervous feeling in her tummy. 'Maybe I like her more than a friend...but no she probably only likes boys' she thought as her phone chimed indicating that she had gotten a text message from Victoria. Victoria:I just have to finish up getting ready, you can come whenever you like. XOXO Max:alright :D Max picked up her stuff and headed out the door, 'let's hope all goes accordingly'. Back in Victoria's, finished applying her makeup. The past few weeks of hanging out with Max at school had been the best since their failed mall trip. Her parents were mad but once she told about who really started the food fight, they understood. She had been feeling some type of way around Max...giggly, giddy, in like? She couldn't describe but it was a good feeling. Her friends had asked her about the newfound friendship between the two, she just tells them about the mall experience..Taylor and Courtney don't say anything about the frequent texting conversations or the meeting for coffee in the mornings, they just pass it off as them bonding. Victoria heard a knock on her door instantly knowing it was Max. 'She is so modest and cute'. She walks over to answers the door seeing Max standing with her overnight bag, 'oh yeah that's right we have a sleepover'. The two go to hug each other, they don't have be weirded out about others finding out that they are friends, since stuff spreads like wildfire in that school. "So are you ready for tonight Tori?" Max asks Victoria as she drops her stuff by Victoria's bed before sitting down on her couch. "Yes of course Maxine, how about you?" Victoria answers then asks back, as she takes one good look at herself in the mirror. "Yeah sure, what movie are we seeing?" She says picking with a loose string on her jeans. "Umm I haven't decided yet...let's pick when we get there yeah? Alright I'm all done getting ready let's go!" Victoria chirps as she picks up her purse and brings along a sweater in case the theater gets cold. The pair walked out of Victoria's room and towards the parking lot, once they reached her car they headed to their dining place. The air was a lot more peaceful this time around from the last time they hung out and the two took notice of this. There weren't very many fancy restaurants in Arcadia Bay, but luckily on the restaurant rating app one of the high rating a restaurant called bon appetité was one the two could agree on. Once they reached bon appetité, they took notice of the outside. It just looked like another two whales but in restaurant form. They walked into the door and took note of the scenery. So not two whales. Their reservation had fallen through, according to the snobby waiter with an awful French accent who said "I'm sorry we only allow high of society here, now leave before I call securrity" it took Max's gentle touch for Victoria not to beat the waiter to a bloody pulp. Victoria rubbed the back of her neck...a habit she had adopted from Max. "I'm sorry Maxine...I guess this isn't what you thought" she laughs. Max laughs too "no it's better, you are soo much more better than those snobby rich folks". The only other eatery in nearby proximity was the pier diner, they had hoped it was still open when they reached it. Yes! It was opened still, the two ordered two burgers with fries and drinks and enjoyed each other's company. They spent the time cracking jokes about the restaurant bon appetité and gave it a bad review. The pier overlooked the Bay, at sunset it was really beautiful the highlight of the colors the sun made a perfect photo opportunity(see what I did there? Errm anyways). Max pulled out her camera and caught the sun as it was about to set, the new camera Victoria got her worked wonders on capturing light. The two finished up their meals, they took a look on the movie website for the theater and saw there was a showing of Annie the 1982 version. They decided on that since it was a classic and had some funny parts. They threw away their trash then headed back to her car, the drive to the theater Max was thinking about the lingering feelings she felt around Victoria...'maybe I should kiss her to see if that will help out'. They finally reached the theater with time to spare before the movie started, they decided to play some arcade games. "You are soooo going down in pacman" Max challenged Victoria as she put the quarters in the game slot. "Oh bring it on" Victoria shots back as she takes her place waiting for the game to start. The game starts, Max's screen displayed Mr. Pacman and Victoria's was Mrs. Pacman. The objective of the game is to see how much on those each player can eat before getting killed. Victoria is lead at first after tickling Max throwing her off. In the end Max managed to get ahead of Victoria and win. Max spent her time gloating about her win, before the voice proctor spoke "THE 9 O CLOCK SHOWING OF ANNIE IS ABOUT TO SHOW, PLEASE GET TICKETS IF NOT AROUND THEN TAKE YOUR SEATS". "I guess we better go get our tickets and go in there" Max says nervously laughing. Victoria nods leading the way to the ticket booth. The two purchase their tickets with snacks then go to take their seats. They take seats towards the middle then wait as the previews to show. Surprising both sing along with the movie..."it's a hard knock life for us! Stead' of treating we get tricked...stead' of kisses we get kicked it's a hard knock life" They both look at each other and laugh. It reaches the movie scene where they sing about going to the movie then watch a romantic flick. Victoria has the feeling to hold hands with Max so she reaches to hold her hand. When Max doesn't pull away she internally sighs. She starts shivering due to forgetting her sweater in the car. Max takes note of this so she reaches her arm around the taller girls shoulder indicating that she wants to give her some warmth. Victoria gracefully takes the invitation of unofficial snuggles, it reaches after the movie scene when they go home and Mr. Warbucks and Grace are discussing stuff. Max decides this is the right time to try and kiss her to get the feelings out the way. She starts by getting Victoria's attention when she does she goes in for a kiss. Her unglossed lips press against Victoria's, 'huh? That helped...I definitely like her ohh no what is she doing?' She thinks as Victoria pushes her tongue against her lips asking for more...she opens her mouth then starts to feel a new feeling kind of hot she can't explain but starts to freak out. She pulls away then standing up. "I-I-I'm sorry...I need to umm uhh use the bathroom" Max says as she rushes out of the theater leaving a confused Victoria behind.

BELATED GIFT
TAGGING: Sam Evans, Brittany S Pierce
LOCATION: Brittany’s House
TIME: December 26th, night
NOTES: Brittany and Sam try to forget their little worries in life while going to see a movie together. They head to her house afterwards to get to know each other better (Part 2 of 2)
Brittany unlocked the front door of her house and lead Sam inside. "Welcome!" She said and saw her cat lift his head for only a moment before setting it back down and returned to his nap. "I'm gonna assume you're not hungry. Unless you are then we can make something," She said and walked to the living room. She slipped her shoes off and tossed her coat on the other side. "Our options are video games, cuddling in front of another movie, coloring, or a board game. Or, your suggestions." She listed off while turning herself towards him, leaning on her elbow. Now she could be as comfortable as she pleased.
Sam followed Brittany inside and closed the door behind himself before shrugging off his jacket. It was nice and warm inside - even though he'd only had to move from his car to the front door he had been pretty cold. Taking a moment, he looked around the place with a smile. It was very Brittany. How, he couldn't quite pin-point, but it definitely felt like her. At the mention of food, he shook his head. "Yeah, I'm okay. I had lunch before heading out. And all the candy and popcorn filled me up." He appreciated the offer though. His face lit up at the mention of video games, and while his first instinct was to quickly cover it up, he knew he didn't really have to with her. "What console, and what games ya got?" he asked curiously. "Or... a board game would be fun."
Brittany walked over to the TV's drawer and opened it up. "Hmm, let's see. We have the Wii, playstation, Xbox, oh!" She said and picked up the smallest of them all. "And a Nintendo. My dad says fun should be anywhere you go." She placed it back and opened up the second drawer. "These are all the games, feel free to pick one! I'm not really sure how to play them. Except Pacman. That one I can beat anyone in." She said confidently. "Are you sure? You seem more excited about these," She giggled and shook her head. "A board game won't beat this."
Sam 's eyes widened at all the different gaming console's she had, it was pretty awesome. Of course, his first instinct was to straight away go for the Xbox, that was his console of preference, but he wanted it to be fun for Britt too. "Hmm, do you have any of them really bad dance games for any of them? Or like... them sing it games? Guitar hero?" He hoped one of those options were going to be okay for her. If she had them, of course. "I'd totally challenge you to Pacman, but since what you said about getting me to each junk food was the total truth, I think I would rather save the beating." he chuckled, moving across the room to help.
Brittany shook her head. They had technically already done something fun for her. It was to go see a cheesy animated movie with her favorite snacks. "Are those really what you wanna do?" She questioned and laughed lightly. "Exactly, so you should pick the game. You need the win." She teased and opened the futon by the end of the couch. She laid out two blankets for them to sit or lay on. Her dad was crazy over these things so she was thankful he had bought plenty of consoles and games. That also meant being entertained for hours.
Sam nodded his head. "Yeah, those sorts of games are fun." They were the type of games you played when you didn't want to take things too seriously, which was exactly what would be perfect for right now. "You afraid I'll kick your butt at dancing, or singing?" He lifted a challenging brow. He hadn't mentioned the fact that he was actually really good at Guitar Hero. It would be fun to completely surprise her with his skills, if she picked that game to play, of course. "I don't wanna play my shooter games. I get all cranky and stuff when I play bad. And I don't really want that to be one of your first impressions of me," he admitted, bringing his hand up to rub the back of his neck.
Brittany took out the two guitars and the CD for the game. "Pshh, no. I just don't want you feeling bad after losing." She said with a smile and handed one to him. "One: that actually sounds really cute, and two: my first impression of you already happened and it wasn't bad at all. I'm sure your passion of video games would not mess with this." She put in the CD while seeing it start up. "I'll admit that you would kick my butt in singing though," She admitted since dancing was more her style.
Sam played it cool as she took out the guitars, this was going to be fun. He hadn't ever had a girl think that getting frustrated over a video game was cute, just another way Britt had surprised him. In a good way, of course. "I dunno, I get get pretty mad. My mom says I can get scary when I'm mad..." It wasn't something he was bragging about by any means, he didn't like to think of himself as being capable to be like that. He wanted to be a good person, not someone to be afraid of. "And I'm really not a singer. So no worried on that. I think with like, Singstar and stuff you just gotta hit a close enough pitch to the singer, doesn't need to sound good."
Brittany imagined him frustrated in front of a screen. She smiled while hearing him, leaning against the edge of the couch. "When you're in it to win it no one understands," she said and chose a random song. It was going to be difficult to not flirt or take a chance with Sam. He was a good nice person. "I bet you have many talents and you're just not telling me. Go ahead, I can handle it." She looked ahead at the TV when it started the song and she played the best she could, missing various keys and couldn't help but giggle when she did. "Ok, ok, I'm warming up so this doesn't count."
Sam took a second to glance over at Britt before shrugging his shoulders. "I dunno. I wouldn't say I have a lot of talents. And I mean... you already know like, half the things I'm good at." Everything he thought he was good at, at least. "I bet you have loads of talents that I don't know about." He answered back before taking focus on the game. It was a song he didn't really know, so he mostly just read the words as they come. It was kind of like, really really bad karaoke. Only he was pretty sure even with karaoke you sang songs you actually knew. He chuckled at her excuse, nodding his head though he was sure she knew he wasn't convinced. "Okay. We'll call that a warm up then. But- can we choose a song we both know? So it's fair and stuff?"
Brittany let the song end and handed over her guitar so he could pick. "Nah, I'm pretty sure you know most of mine too." She said while patiently waiting for him to choose a song. "That sounds like a better idea. Sorry. I just chose a random one," She said and took her guitar in hand when he would hand it back. The fact that he tried to sing along made her laugh though. She started the game again and hummed along to the song, pressing the correct keys more this time.
Sam scrolled through the list of songs, his eyes lighting up a little at one he recognized. "Do you know this one?" He asked, looking over to her to get confirmation. "C'mon... there's gotta be some super awesome Britt secret talent that I don't know about yet." He was pretty certain there was a lot more to Brittany that he was yet to learn. Though, he wasn't sure he wanted to know it all at once - the longer he didn't know certain things meant the more time he would get to spend with her. With the song starting, Sam's focus turned back to the screen once again, again he played fairly poorly, even reaching across to press a wrong button on Britt's guitar playfully.
Brittany nodded when the song was highlighted. "Yup!" She thought for a moment and shrugged. "I guess you'll have to find out along the way." She teased while looking back towards the screen. "No distractions!" She giggled and began playing. When he pressed her guitar's button she gasped, laughing while gently pushing him. "Don't make me pause it," She said while looking at the screen and glancing at him once in a while.
Sam smiled at her tease. "I'm totally okay with that." He nodded his head. "Okay, no distractions." That was a total lie, as she found out not even a few minutes later. The gentle shove was enough to throw him off for a moment, but when he was really started to get a butt whooped, he kicked into action. He was sure she probably wasn't going to notice the way he was hitting the noted better than before out of nowhere since she was so focused on her side of the screen. He still lost again, but he was going to up the difficulty for himself for the next one. "I'm feelin' good about it." was his reasoning.
Brittany laughed softly and smirked a bit when she won. "That's what happens when you mess with my guitar," She raised her eyebrows while smiling. "Alriight," She said and challenged herself by doing the same. She underestimated the difficulty when she was missing a bunch of notes mostly with the last button. "Darn," She said but enjoyed the music despite seeing her score decrease. "Hmm, this was a trick!"
Sam lifted a brow at the smirk on her lips, if only she knew what was coming. "I guess you're just better than me." He let out an exasperated sigh. He hadn't expected her to also change her own difficulty, but it was going to be fun watching her out of his peripheral vision while they played. his fingers moved almost effortlessly with each note that needed to be hit, only missing a few that had come in an awkward succession. "I think I just get better the harder it is." He let out a chuckle. It had nothing to do with the fact that he had played it non-stop when it had first come out or anything.
Brittany was pretty impressed with his skills and slanted her smile when she was forced to stop playing for a bit until Sam would save her. "Clearly even they know you're the best," She laughed and waited until her half of the screen lit up, brightening up while continuing to play but not for long. "Now we're even,"
Sam chuckled as he played, saving them both from losing though he shrugged at the compliment. "I just played it lots and lots. Practice makes perfect." He was hoping that would make her feel a little better about it. He felt kind of bad for bragging about things like that when literally anyone could do it given they tried it hard enough. "Now we're even." He nodded with a smile. "We can play something different if you wanna. I don't want you getting like... bored or nothin'."
Brittany listened while looking impressed. "That's awesome." She said while humming a bit. "I don't mind continuing. Unless you wanna go," She said, understanding if he did. She didn't want to keep him longer than he felt like staying. "Or unless you're afraid I'm gonna beat you the third time."
Sam looked down towards his lap to try and hide the way his cheeks reddened some. "It's not that big a deal." He shrugged his shoulder nonchalantly with a smile. When she mentioned whether or not he wanted to leave, he shook his head. "What? No. I don't wanna go." Straight forward, but honest. "It's fun hanging with you." He added on. His eyebrows shot up at the challenge and a chuckle fell from his lips. "Them's fightin' words there, B. It's on like Donkey Kong! I'm totally gonna kick your butt and you know it."
Brittany was pretty relieved that he'd stay. "Thank you. You too." She replied before giggling at his remark. "Okayy, if you say so." She said and stretched her legs out. She was trying to avoid staring at his lips for too long. All she could really picture was her kissing him. "I'm not giving up," She smiled and set her guitar aside. "Whether its this game or the many others."
Sam nodded his head as seriously as he could muster in the moment. "I do say so." Shifting, he moved to get a little more comfortable. "Well you're a fighter, I'll you that." He had to admire her perseverance. "Oh, that sounds like another challenge there." Sam was pretty confident in his gaming ability, it didn't usually take him too long to get the hang of it. "Put on any game you like, and I will totally still win." He gave a firm nod. "... anything but Pacman."
Brittany winked while she heard him. "I'm up for any challenge." She said and got up and walked to the kitchen to get a glass of water. "Want something to drink?" She asked and served herself. "I'm glad you remembered to not try me on Pacman!" She giggled while returning to the living room. "You're the guest so it's only fair."
Sam watched her as she walked out and into the kitchen, his body shifting as he did so. "Uh, yeah. Water would be cool, thanks." All the fun he was having was making him thirsty. "I remember a lot of stuff." He liked to pay attention to people when they spoke, it was always nice when someone did that sort of thing, and Sam liked treating people how he liked to be treated. "Wanna have a tie breaker for this and then maybe do something else?"
Brittany handed him his glass and took a sip of her own before setting it on the table. "Do you have like an oldest memory kind of thing?" She questioned curiously. "I'm down for that. We'll declare the winner another day." She said and saved their game. "What kinda stuff were you thinking of?"
Sam shrugged his shoulder at the question. "I dunno that I would say that. I just like to pay attention to stuff people say, stuff they do. Not in like... the creepy way or nothin'. But like, if you told me something I would try my best to remember it." He set down the guitar controller down beside himself and shrugged again. "I dunno what I really had in mind. Just... something. Switched stuff up doesn't hurt. Did you like, have anything in mind that you would wanna do?"
Brittany hummed as she glanced over at the couch. "We can just talk and catch up. All that battling on the game made us deserve some more relaxing," she joked. Brittany liked to do the same. Even with the small things that people mentioned she wanted to remember. It made homemade greeting cards better. Anything else she would want to do would probably be too on the romantic side. "Unless you have another idea?" She knew 'talking' wasn't the most fun thing to do. There was a homemade dance studio downstairs but she wasn't quite sure if he'd have as much fun as she would. Same went for the coloring.
Sam drew his lip between his lip and chewed in thought for a moment. Her suggestion wasn't a bad idea by any means, but he was still trying to work out a way to make it interesting. "Okay, how about we just kinda play like, 20 questions. But, we have to pinky swear to answer everything completely honestly." It would make it interesting. "Or you can play that like, 'would you rather' one where you get offered two things and no matter what you gotta pick one or the other. Or even just two person truth or dare. But I think that would probably get boring quick."
Brittany raised an eyebrow at his suggestion. It was risky but she wasn't one to shy away from revealing more about herself. "Maybe a mix of both?" She asked and dragged the blankets towards the couch. She sat down while getting comfortable. "Nah, we'll leave the truth or dare thing for another day. The first two are good for now." She thought about a question to throw out there to start. "A movie or show to always cheer you up?"
Sam smiled as she agreed to the first couple of suggestions, glad that she didn't completely shut it down and think it was silly. Before actually starting though, he held out his pinky. He was joking about the promise. You could never go back on a pinky swear, everyone knew that. Then he started thinking about the answer to her question. For someone who enjoyed watching things, it was a more difficult question than it seemed. "Hmm, okay so movie would be Star Wars. Any of them would work but The Clone Wars is my absolute favorite. And shows would be something funny, like How I Met Your Mother or something like that." He nodded. "Okay, what is your to-go song to listen to when you're sad?"
Brittany had thought he was joking since others didn't agree to it when she suggested it herself. She gladly curled her pinkie around his. "I promise." She agreed before unfortunately pulling her hand away. "Oh I love that show," she said and already knew which songs came to mind. "Ok, I can't pick between the two but, Uptown Funk by Bruno Mars and Dessert by Dawin always cheer me up. You just get in a good mood and you can dance to them." She leaned her head against the couch. "Dream job? And dream place to travel to with all the money from your dream job?"
Sam could tell that Brittany had been surprised by him holding out his hand and for a moment was worried that he looked silly for doing so. He smiled at the songs that she immediately rattled off, letting her pick the two answers instead of just the one. What harm was it going to do having known two of her favorite songs in case she ever needed cheering up. "Cool. I know what songs to crank outside your window now if you're ever sad." With a smile, he leaned back. "If I could do absolutely anything? I think I would go pro playing football." It was something he would love doing, and also be able to provide for his family. His parents had done so much for him, and while they obviously weren't in a tough situation, he still wanted to be able to give a little back to them. "And I think I would visit Australia. Place seems cool. Only a visit though, I'd live wherever my family where." He was a family man and always would be. "Okay, dream dude?"
Brittany remembered the movie Say Anything when he mentioned playing music outside her window. She smiled and didn't think it was a bad idea at all. "Well thank you." She knew he'd be able to play professional football. Dreaming big was something she was an expert on. If someone was passionate about something, there was no doubt they'd do great things. "With all the money from playing football, I'm sure you'd have enough to bring them with you." She smiled, loving how he never forgot about his family. Should she have just gone with them to travel and leave her life in Lima behind? Maybe she had made the wrong decision. She took a second to snap back from her thoughts. "Oh, umm," She wondered while biting her bottom lip lightly. "Someone who can always make me laugh, is always there for me, cares about family too, and we trust each other easily. Oh and wants to dance with me even if he's not a pro or anything." She wasn't necessarily a picky person. If you made her happy, she was more than fine. "How about you? Dream girl?"
Sam shrugged his shoulders. He didn't really think he would want to move to another country, even if it would be pretty cool to do. "But- how would I play football if I moved away?" That was another fair point he thought he'd made. He was sure they had their own version of it, but if it was anything like soccer, he was going to have to pass. He smiled as he listened to her answer. It all sounded pretty fair, what she was looking for in a guy. It was all pretty similar to what he wanted, really. "I a lot of stuff that you want in a guy. Someone who can make me laugh, and cares about family too. Someone who kinda just loves me for who I am." That was definitely the main point. "I don't wanna have to hide any part of me. I want someone who knows every little thing, and still wants me anyway." He nodded his head. "Hmm... If you had one more day to live, and you could do anything you wanted with those 24 hours, how would you spend that time? Or what would you do?"
Brittany shook her head when he explained moving away. "No not move silly, just travel to." She clarified. "So of course, you'd still keep your job." She was glad they agreed on the same things. "Me too. It's better when both of us- you, can be yourself." She hummed while thinking about her day. "That's a good one. Besides freaking out that I had one more day to live, I'd spend it with the people I love. Oh at Disney World! Or Canada." She couldn't wait for the day she'd be able to go to the famous theme park. "Coffee or tea? Or even better, hot chocolate?"
Sam drew his lip between his teeth at the realization that he had misread what she had meant. "Oh, right. Oops." His gaze dropped down to his hands as he let out a chuckle of embarrassment. "Well yeah. I'd take everyone I love with me if I could." It would be kind of cool. He couldn't remember the last time his whole family went on a trip together. He smiled over at her at her answer. It was something similar to what he would do of that situation occurred. "Well I'm not really a coffee or tea drinker. I mean, I have enough energy to burn as it is, I think me on coffee would be kinda scary..." He wrinkled up his nose. "So totally hot chocolate." He gave a nod of his head. "Okay, if there was one person on earth that you could like... get rid of forever, who would it be?"
Brittany giggled softly while he looked down. "It was my bad." She said and was glad he agreed with her on the type of drink. "Me too! I'm sure I'd do fine without both of them so why not drink hot chocolate instead? With marshmallows. It'd be terrible to not have them." She thought about his question, wondering if she disliked someone enough to get rid of them. "Hm," She thought and tilted her head to the side a bit. "Besides the obvious answer of people who commit murder and sad stuff like that..I don't think I have a certain person in mind? There's not someone I hate or dislike that much to get rid of and not give them some kind of chance." She scratched her forehead a bit. "If mosquitos count, then I'd get rid of those."
Sam was glad that there was someone else who understood. Most people thought he was weird for not drinking coffee. "You gotta have the cocoa powder on top of it too. Makes it totally perfect." He gave a firm nod of his head. There was no convincing him otherwise on the hot chocolate front. Sam scrunched up his nose as he pondered over whether or not it was a valid answer before deciding that they were living beings, and his question wasn't really specific to only people. "Yeah, you can count them. Y'know that like... if you got rid of all of them, that it would totally mess the eco-system though?"
Brittany groaned as she leaned her head back. "Ok, like, how baadly would it mess it up? For example, would we recover pretty quickly or is this like a, "If mosquitos don't exist, the world will end much much sooner than we thought?" She questioned. "Oh definitely! I can't forget about that either." She wanted to ask more but was stumped. "Hmm," She said and tapped her chin. "It's probably the simplest question of all, but super important: What's your favorite color?"
Sam couldn't help but chuckle at her groan. "I dunno if you would be bad enough to like, make the world end. But it would totally throw stuff out of whack. For a little while at the very least. I mean... it probably wouldn't hurt to minimize the amount of them a little." He shrugged his shoulders. He would have to google the actual answer to that question later on when he got home and get back to her about it. "I'll check later and keep ya posted." Sam was glad she asked something easy, it was less tiring when he didn't have to overthink everything. "Green." He answered almost as soon as the question had been put out there. "If you could only eat one take-away for the rest of your life... which one would you pick?"
Brittany nodded, satisfied with his suggestion. "Then let's decrease the population." She said while curious to know more. She liked to learn, but quizzes and textbooks bored the hell out of her. With favorite colors she could put her own little twist and theme on gifts. The question made her laugh since she wouldn't be able to choose one of the many foods she loved. "Yikes. I'm gonna have to say I can't choose."
Sam pointed a finger at her when she refused to answer his question. "That's breaking the rules!" They had made a pinky promise at the start, and she wasn't allowed to go back on it now. Leaning back against the couch again, he tried to work out a different way to ask where he might've been able to prod something out of her. "Okay," he began, "Just cause I'm super nice, I will change it to kinda sorta make it easier. I'm just gonna narrow it down to a few." That was reasonable, right? "McDonalds, KFC, or Taco Bell."
Brittany laughed when he called her out. "Ok ok!" She listened to his choices and couldn't help but giggle again. "This is easier because I'm going to go with McDonalds. They have more stuff to choose from." She pointed out while thinking of her own question. "If you had your own YouTube channel, what would be your videos be about?" She asked. When she glanced out the window, she noticed it had gotten dark out and he'd be leaving soon. She swallowed hard and wanted to enjoy the last few questions before she had to endure the next few days with Sugar talking about him.
Sam was glad that his edited form of the questioned seemed to be easier for her. There was no way he was letting her get away with not answering. That was not the point of the game. "I think I'd probably choose the same." He smiled before his features turned to a frown in thought. It was a good question, definitely not one he'd ever had been asked before. "I think I would do like, the gaming ones. Like Markiplier or something like that. He's real cool and I love his videos." Gaming was what he was best at, it made sense to have something he was good at as the channel." Sam followed her line of site as she looked towards the window, noticing it was indeed much later than they had realized, which probably meant he would have to leave soon. He pretended he didn't realize though. "If you were a mythical creature, what would you wanna be?"
Brittany readjusted herself on the couch. "I think the most popular ones are gaming channels so if you ever do decide to go for it, good luck." She laughed lightly and took a sip of her water. It took her no time to answer. "A unicorn. They're the cutest, kindest, most magical of them all." She explained. "Ok, you find a genie's lamp and you have three wishes. What's your first wish?"
Sam had to agree. It seemed like the most successful channels were with that sort of thing. It did mean that he would have a lot of competition though, so it didn't have a lot of perks. Still, it was much easier to stick to what you know. Her answer was definitely something he could see. Britt was so pure, Sam had never met anyone like her in his life. "Okay, so like... it's probably really lame. But like, I think I'd wish for world peace. If you had the power to really help everyone, why wouldn't you?"
Brittany didn't think his answer was lame at all. It was along the lines of what she would wish for if she had the chance to. "I one hundred percent agree." She said softly while nodding. "That'd be my first wish too." She said while thinking about how much they connected. Her mind went right back to her friend. She licked her lips while picking at a loose string on one of the couch pillows. "I hope you had fun today and you weren't too tired out from Christmas."
Sam smiled softly as she agreed with him. He'd had a good time with Britt, he was sad to know that it had to end. "I really have had an awesome day" He answered her sincerely, sending her a genuine smile. "I hope you've had fun too. Maybe we could like... do it again sometime?" Standing from the couch, he knew he probably needed to get home. His mother would have been starting to wonder where he was. While he didn't have a curfew, she still liked to know where he was and worried at times.
Brittany was glad and quite frankly relieved he had a good day too. "Me too." She said and got up as he did. She walked by his side to the door. "I'd love to." She let him know while opening the door and glanced outside. "Text me to let me know you got home fine, ok?" She asked, hoping there would be a next time. It'd be too much not to see him again.
Sam sent her a nod as he slipped his jacket back on and heading out the door. "I'll text you as soon as I'm home, promise." It was nice to have someone that clearly cared. He was really hoping that they would be able to hang out again, he really did have a good time with her. With a wave, Sam headed to his car to go home.
