Listen listen. If you actually look at the later seasons of FOP Irep/Foop is like. Weirdly relied on by anti-fairy world. Like the leaders will just ask him to do things for them like he’s the main anti-fairy. They even do that in the movie. And like we can talk about how those pieces of media weren’t good and an over reliance on him as an antagonist showed both clear favoritism and a lack of creativity but on the other hand consider:
I think it’s actually very expected for anti-fairy world to begin dumping responsibilities onto baby Foop. Baby Poof was treated as a celebrity for being the first fairy baby born in a really long time, and was seen as more powerful for his baby magic. And Foop was his counterpart. Anti-Fairy world clearly had been sitting at a stalemate with Fairy World, and whoever was in charge (whether you want to say it’s Anti-Cosmo, or actually acknowledge the Anti-fairy council) would likely jump at the chance to use a new element to their advantage.
Even if Anti-Cosmo was the main authority in Anti-Fairy world, it would benefit him to push for another authority to force Foop into ā€œmissions.ā€ Meanwhile he tells Foop the reason they do that is because he’s special and better than other Anti-Fairies, ect. And Foop is especially receptive to that bc he has an ego and did, in fact, take initiative to do evil first. But still it’s clear that Anti-Cosmo only really sees him as a means to forward the goals of Anti-Fairies in general. He wanted that before Foop was even born.
At the same time. This is all happening while he is still just a baby. And not only is he presented with opportunities, but he’s threatened in the case of failure. I mean that certainly does fit the old reliable source of trauma that is unrealistic expectations and no room for personal goals due to goals already set by authority figures. That’s not even getting into what it would realistically do to someone to have their entire sense of self dictated in relation to another person. Down to having to change your name if the other person does.
And then there’s when he went to a fairy school and was hated by everyone. Woof. Imagine being the only kid in your entire species and everyone else your age hates you.
Now. We can talk about what it would do to someone in that position to realize they’re attracted to/have feelings for the person they were literally born to oppose.
But also consider the possibilities that could be opened to that person when they realize that they have a ā€œgender bentā€ persona that they wouldn’t be recognized as. Imagine them feeling a connection to the ā€œopposite gender.ā€ Then realizing that changing their gender presentation would make them appear to be a person that isn’t held to the same expectations that they usually are. To have a look that you made for yourself. A name that you made for yourself. Like listen guys just picture this with me for a minute-

Yeah, yesterday I watched Two and a half babies and I also feel very sorry for this poor boy. He just wanted to take care of his egg so that he could then go to his dream camp and he tried to save it when it was in danger but of course Poof got all the approval and all he did was catch the egg while Foop got hurt trying to save it.
And you're telling me Poof was the responsible one?!?!
(wow now I understand why people always disliked him so much)
I think it would be a good idea if this is what their care for Amy looked like. Irep would do anything to save her when she was in danger, but Peri would always be the one to catch her, receiving praise from everyone for "saving her" while poor Irep would suffer from injuries.
Then they could have a serious conversation about it and Irep could, for example, say that just because he's an anti-fairy and the opposite of Peri, doesn't mean he doesn't care about his child's well-being and doesn't want to be a good parent. :'<
I rewatched a few episodes to remember how Irep/foop acted in the og show (only a few because the late seasons of the show sucked) and fuck I feel bad for him
That poor kid, his first day of school everyone loves poof peri despite even foop/Irep pointing out that he literally can't say anything but his name, and the stupid "foop, spelt backwards" thing which like, that's such dick move for a teacher who has a student named foop
Not to mention the amount of times foop gets injured and blamed for stuff, like he's evil and does malicious things but like, just let him be happy...

My dude wanted a kiss from the new girl for crying out loud!
Also unrelated but I like that he talks back and forth to himself in the first few episodes and that he easily falls asleep like a baby
I didn't watch most of the episodes since the later season suck but I watched "anti poof", "playdate of doom", "spellementary school", "love triangle", "scary Godcouple" (dear God...) and "two and a half babies"
