spoonie terminology is my worst enemy 5ever
#– mar 🎸#if you like it that's all well and good but i cannot Stand it#1. adding 'ie' to smth is infantilizing. to me#2. ive had it explained to me 3000 times and i still don't really understand why ppl dont just say energy instead of spoons half the time#(its meant to be easier for abled ppl to understand? but its a whole ass analogy you have to explain?)#3. i rly dont get why a tool for explaining energy/motivation/etc. levels as a disabled person is an Identity#and why so many ppl call themselves 'spoonies' instead of disabled#i understand why it was invented and i think the original use case made sense probably. but it feels SO overused
