really want to write lotr fanfic for the first time in years
still do not have the books to refer to

#idk man i just got hit HARD yesterday by the desire to write post-war healing stuff with éowyn#(or. actually. post-war adjusting to permanent disability stuff.)#(“there's no canon evidence she was disabled by--” THAT'S MY OPINIONNNNNN)#also it seems like it would be interesting to dig into! lotr is very much more concerned with the psychological than the physical#which is cool and i love it but also: there's a whole other aspect to chew on#faramir: “here is the lady éowyn and she is healed”.#éowyn unable to raise her left arm past like 30 degrees: :|#and like here's the thing right HERE'S THE THING there's nothing in canon that says that ISN'T the case#and frankly i think it makes a lot of thematic sense#also just on a practical level: there is no way that was a clean break and there is no way it healed cleanly without pins#this bitch took a supernatural mace-blow square on the arm. if it broke it BROKE.#anyway the balance between “PTSD and depression” and “practical response to life-altering disability” is just. fertile ground.#I NEED MY BOOKS BAAAAAACK maybe i can get a copy of rotk out of the library or something#(or i could just ask elliot for my copy back. no way he's at rotk yet.)
