Vengeance & Victory: A TØP lore-inspired fanfiction

Synopsis: Vengeance & Victory is an alternate reality piece that takes place throughout various pieces of TØP lore, with the main timeline of taking place around the Clancy era (flashbacks taking place around the Trench & SAI eras).

Characters: The Torchbearer (Josh’s character), Clancy (Tyler’s character), The Wanderer (OC insert) + others.

The Wanderer: The Wanderer is a being who is known for having escaped Dema after being imprisoned for unknown reasons. The identity of The Wanderer is unknown, and any talk relating to him/her/them is forbidden inside the walls of Dema. On the outside, however, he/she/they are idolized. The Wanderer is said to be a being of great power, but is unable to make use of said power until the time is supposedly “right”.

The Banditos (In collaboration with Clancy) have taken it upon themselves to locate the whereabouts of The Wanderer. Remnants of tattered fabric and other objects suggest that The Wanderer escaped from Dema and was nearing the Trench (last location having been just East from the Banditos’ camp) before all traces of him/her/them disappeared completely. [An anonymous source suspects that The Wanderer might have fled to Voldsøy. This source also suspects that The Wanderer had been apart of Clancy’s rebellion, or had used his rebellion as a distraction during his/her/their escape attempt. If he/she/they had joined Clancy in his rebellion, it is said that he/she/they had been disguised so to not draw any attention. The Wanderer had also refused the tape he and his followers wore. Apparently, The Wanderer preferred to remain anonymous, and is said to have practiced Vialism (the religion practiced in Dema, its ending goal being to take one’s own life) as a cover for his/her/their true intentions.]

Although Nico (full name Nicolas Bourbaki, also known as Blurryface) and the Niners (bishops) have yet to confirm any public findings that suggest The Wanderer had truly been a living being, they are said to be withholding journalized documents that were signed by a Dema resident with a rather unusual pen name, which could potentially have been The Wanderer during his/her/their time in the city. This evidence has yet to be brought to light, as the bishops fear an uprise in rebellion if the public becomes aware of it.

In addition to all that is known about The Wanderer, there is one vital piece of information that only he/she/they know. What is it, might one ask? Well, unbeknownst to many, The Wanderer has an ability that could possibly be used to determine the fate of a being even greater than him/her/them. You see, The Wanderer can envision scenarios of great detail. People included. One of these people being Clancy’s closest (and most trusted) confidant. The Torchbearer. The Wanderer recounts moments in which the world has went black, only to be replaced by lengthy visions detailing The Torchbearer greatly.

The Torchbearer: The Torchbearer is an imaginary friend, if you will. A figment of one’s imagination. A dissociative identity, even. He is known to protect others (Clancy) and guide them through their respective paths, as stated in ‘My Blood’. He’s always ready to lend a helping hand, and will do everything in his power to ensure the safety of who he’s ‘attached’ himself to.

Although he doesn’t appear to have the ability to sing or speak, this doesn’t deter him. However, the reasoning for this is because one can only truly consider him ‘real’ within their headspace. For, as previously stated, he is only a figment of the imagination.

A member of the Banditos, a rebel group fighting to overthrow the corrupt power ruling over Dema, The Torchbearer is also said to have a total of three different versions of himself. Accredited sources believe that the version of The Torchbearer that guides the Banditos is (in fact) the so called ‘real’ version. The second is said to be a clone created by the bishop council (potentially Blurryface) in order to keep Clancy tame and satisfied. The third version, however, hasn’t been confirmed to exist in the sense that he holds a ‘physical form’; much like the first two. The Wanderer accounts for this in his/her/their personal documents, but have confused many (The Wanderer as a collective) as this is believed to be incorrect, as he/she/they believe that there are only two known versions of The Torchbearer. One (who exists on the island of Voldsøy), and the other (who is said to be the leader of the Banditos). The last, well… is unknown. The Wanderer believes he could be a being of a power greater than his/hers/theirs, for information about The Torchbearer as a whole only comes to him/her/them through sporadic visions.

Clancy: Clancy is a well-known rebel who holds a reputation as being one of the first to successfully escape Dema. He escaped after being imprisoned and forced to create propaganda for the city. Not only is he a rebel, however. He is also a member of the Banditos, alongside their leader, The Torchbearer. His main goal as of right now is to locate The Wanderer and convince him/her/them to help him defeat Nico. Knowing The Wanderer will not be that easy to persuade —or locate— he acquired some key information about The Wanderer’s life in Dema. He is hopeful that the documents he “borrowed” will lead him in the right direction.

Clancy also figures that The Wanderer is a being of a different astral projection or something else entirely, as sources claim that he/she/they can be seized through psychokinesis. Clancy has been encouraged to use his ability against The Wanderer as a way of locating his/her/their whereabouts, but can’t bring himself to think of doing such a thing. The Wanderer is a living being, after all.

Thus begins Clancy’s journey. With the help of the Banditos, he will set off on his mission to find The Wanderer. If said being fled to Voldsøy, it’s only a matter of time before someone else finds him/her/them.

i’ve been collecting them most of my life. i got given a cd player at a young age which is why i started collecting. as a kid it was mostly so fresh & now hits of summer cds that are still somewhere in the house (also alvin & the chipmunks).

these days i collect them because my car is old and doesn’t have aux or bluetooth so cds and the radio get me through. i’ve included pics of my glovebox, the ones that live in a bag cause i have too many to fit in said glovebox & my current listen. i’ll just list them as they appear and where i got them from!!

gorillaz, the now now- bought first hand. at the time i was listening to it almost daily

gorillaz, demon days- actually belongs to my sister. she doesn’t have a cd player so it judt lives in my car for when we go on drives

twenty one pilots, trench- a gift for my birthday last year. i have most of tøps discography and i was obsessed with it when it released (saw them in concert & everything)

my chemical romance, the black parade- found this one in an op shop. there’s a few i got at the same time, some emo must’ve donated their collection in one go. love this album its one i listen to a lot

hello everyone! as a fun little event, for the next week(s) or so the polls are going to be focused on a bracket style battle between all blurryface songs. the idea is to the able to define which blurryface song is the most liked/most popular in the tumblr fandom.
