I am about to throw this chapter off a fucking CLIFF whomst decided there needed to be so much PLOT

for three days i was super stressed bc i met with the person i'm doing a presentation on friday with bc i was afraid i'd be doing too little work and be completely unprepared to work with them

turns out there was zero reason for that.

i did background reading and tried to come up with an outline for our presentation using the guidelines and discussion points we were asked to from the instructor.

was stressed because i *only* read the two texts the instructor proposed + one additional text but not more about other topics that we could branch out into. Stressed because i couldn't come up with questions for *all* the topics but only some of them.

they did. ask chatgpt to give them an outline and questions. that's it. some of the outline was similar to mine. some of it sucked. no sense of flow for the presentation, when it would be good to have a breather, how to combine some things instead of bringing them up later again and therefore repeating them.

additionally: zero power point knowledge. they couldn't move a picture without distorting that. i watched it like times and finally said something and showed them how to do it. and they still couldn't.

it was both a chill meeting bc i didn't feel dumb as fuck but actually had a very clear idea of what to do and what to say (and could have gone in much more depth) and a frustrating meeting bc. hello. can you please just think about this for a minute. can you please do some background reading. can you please just prepare something and reflect if this makes sense instead of gobbling up what your friend chatgpt is feeding you.

use it if you must but PLEASE don't turn off your brain.

Goddamn, I always forget how slow writing is. Even when I'm writing something "easy" where I already know what I want to say, even when it's something that doesn't need a high quality final product, even when it's something fun that I'm excited to write -- none of that actually speeds up the process all that much! Simply putting the words in a sensible and okay-sounding order just takes time.
