Quick question: What the actual fuck are right-wing gun owners doing pointing loaded and unsafed guns at their own genitals? How, as a "lib", am I supposed to be owned by this?
Fudds. Specifically, fudds.
Vice actually has an article on this now, and itâs mostly accurate for a change. I never thought Vice.com would have cause to learn what âfuddsâ are, but here we are in 2020 where nothing makes sense. Â
As usual, Vice is incapable of truly grasping the subject, so to explain better, âfuddâ is a term for older gun owners who are long on urban legends and long-discredited or obsolete information (aka the âfuddloreâ) and short on actual sensible info. A prime example of this would be âkeeping your magazines loaded wears out the springs.â (It does not.) The fudd mindset is not entirely associated with age, however. And there is indeed such a thing as the âgoodfudd,â one who brings the TRUE fuddlore; ancient knowledge from the Before Days that has mostly been lost to the community. Paul Harrell on Youtube is a stellar example; see his videos where he talks about how to use a double-barrel shotgun for self-defense, the old-school techniques for using a revolver as a combat weapon (from the decades where most cops carried revolvers and they were the standard handgun; before the Wondernines took the world by storm.)Â
In this particular instance, itâs apparently alleged that the fudds are doing this dick-pointing thing to mock people who are overly obsessive with screaming âtrigger discipline!â This is especially dubious because in my experience, itâs the fudds themselves who are overly prone to this. Now recall that among gun owners, the laws of gun safety are hammered into you repetitively until they become unconscious muscle memory, and for damn good reason. So for someone to be overly obsessive about observing the gun safety rules is a very, very strong statement to make. For instance, fudds whining that shoulder holsters are bad because you sweep the muzzle across your left-hand quadrant as you draw with your right. Yes, they complain that you muzzle-sweep while DRAWING THE WEAPON TO SHOOT A BAD GUY. At some point, one has to accept that the point of a defensive firearm is to be drawn in self-defense if needed. The point of the trigger is to discharge the weapon. If you cannot manage to not pull the bang lever early, then you should not be carrying the damn gun. Simple as. But thatâs fudds for you. Thus this latest trend makes me think itâs âyoung fudds,â i.e. dumbfucks that are newer to guns and are charging in with the fudd mindset. This isnât uncommon, either - a great deal of the âfuddloreâ has become, over decades of osmosis through popular culture (much of it back when it WAS actually the common consensus,) the pop cultural lore of firearms as well. (Grossmanâs book âOn Killingâ has been long since superseded by better studies and science which have largely disprove the bookâs theories, but people - and media, and movies - still treat it as gospel, for instance.) So you have YoungFudds with dumbfuck fudd ideas doing dumbfuck fudd things.Â
But above all understand that this has fuck-all to do with âthe libs.â If we wanted to mock libs weâd be taking pictures of our handguns jutting out of our unzipped flyâs to mock the leftâs Freudian, phallic obsession with firearms.Â

Hear me out guys. you know what would be a grrrrrrreaaat idea ?
B&T reintroducing the MR93.Â
B&T has a long story of picking up old designs and making them fabulous again, and Iâve got some serious points to make :
â revolvers are back in fashion
â revolver are always cool, fashionable or not

â no Swiss revolvers manufactured for far too long
â the MR93 was an excellent revolver, which just needed a little bit of kink-ironing (the failing cylinder release system is identified and was corrected on the 96) but didnât get the chance to prove itself, with everyone going after polymer wondernines
â the MR93 was especially designed to limit the number of hand fitting tasks, and is easy to produce on CNC machines for relatively cheap
â itâs modular (grips and barrels are easily interchangeable)
â itâs perfectly in harmony with the Swiss tradition of ugly-beautiful guns
â it should be easy for B&T to get the manufacturing license from Chapuis for cheap
Ideally, Morini and Trausch grips should be reintroduced, and the classical range of barrel lengths (3âł, 4âł, 6âł) too, with fixed or adjustable sights, with the standard hammer or a bobbed one, with a steel frame or an aluminium one.Â
Iâm dreaming here, but a variant with shortened frame and cylinder, similar to the Korth Sky Marshall and shooting 9x19 could be nice.
A reliable B&T 93/20 .357 Magnum, with aluminium frame, fixed sights, sloped-Morini grips and bobbed hammed would be a great self-defense pistol to carry or to keep at home.
So if you think the best revolver in the world should rise again, itâs too bad B&T doesnât have a tumblr, and I really donât have much klout on instagram, but you should petition B&T about it. Â
