ঞじòぴé Chapter 1 ઈଓᦗ࿐
Summary: M/n is a cute little white boy in Japan filled with demons and slayers. What if I told you those demons and slayers want him?
Harem list: 1/2 2/2
Chapter 2
author's purpose: Yes, I’m making another series even though I will NEVER finish it. If you guys could give me and idea on each post I got you👌🏽. The yandere will be speaking with bold and a color of my choice. The reader will have just bold.
TW: Death
“Something bad is 'bout to happen to me. I don't know what, but I feel it coming”— Steve Lacy
“M/N M/N RUN RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN”
“I'm sorry m/n I'm sorry I couldn't protect you.”
“M/N GET BACK HERE YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO BE WITH ME.”
“HELP ME SOMEBODY PLEASE.”
“MAMA PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME AGAIN.
“GET AWAY FROM ME.”
“Nobodys going to help you.”
You woke drenched in sweat from a dream. “Type of dream was that?” You spoke out loud you've never had a dream like that before why all of a sudden?
‘I should get dressed.’ before getting dressed let me tell you what you look like. You have (h/l) hair with a petite body, long beautiful nails, and princess peach-like lips. You had a beauty that women wanted but never got.
Getting dressed, you ate, brushed your teeth, then left.
You open the shoji doors and close them leaving to get food since you are slowly running out. As you got there you got some stares from men mostly— the women envy you they just wished you, a foreigner NEVER came here. Did you care?… no you didn't.
“Hi, M/n It's been a while. “Spoke the pregnant lady. “Yes, it has been— how's the baby?” She smiled at you rubbing her belly. “He’s a fighter for sure he's been kicking me all day like he wants to see the world already.” She chuckled making you smile. “When he's born I want you to be his god uncle. “Does she really want that a teenager who should still be in middle school? “You mean it ame?” She nodded. “Now come help me.” she grabbed your wrist.
“Bye see you tomorrow!” She yelled waving goodbye as you walked away. All she wanted was for you to help her cook when her husband come home she gave you some of her food before you left. At least you don't have to cook.
For some reason when you came home and ate you just got this uneasy feeling like— something scary was gonna happen.
Laying your head down to rest all you hear is a loud, bloody murder scream. And your dumb ass got up and ran to the screaming once you got there the screaming stop all there was, was crying. You went to Ames's home seeing her holding a baby in her hands. She saw you. “M-m/n c-come closer.” You bent down in front of her.
“T-take c…are of m-my baby pl…ease. “Tears ran down hers and your face Ame chocked on her blood handing you her baby. “I will Ame… I’ll take care of him.” She smiled after saying. “You’ll be a better mother than me M/n.” Her hand dropped from your cheek before her eyes slowly shut. Your body was shaking if only Ame knew her baby was… gone before her.
— OBANAI’S POV—
‘Shit shit shit shit why didn't we get a report about this sooner.’ I thought seeing multiple dead bodies and blood. “We… are late- too late,” Giyuu said looking down of course we had to be late these demons are getting sneakier.
“Wait! I sense a heartbeat.” Sanemi ran in front of us we followed we made it to a house inside was a boy. Sitting on his knees sniffing holding a deceased baby along with a woman with tears streaming from his face. Giyuu was the first to step up to him.
“We need to get you out of here your family and many others will get a proper burial I just need you to let go of the baby and come with us.” The kid let go of the baby walking out of the house with his head down not even looking at us.
The kaiushi came cleaning up and burying the bodies I turned my head to the kid who was still there. Sanemi walked up to him. “Hey, listen you need to go home the sun is rising so you'll be fine walking home alone. “He didn't say anything well that's what we thought cause after Sanemi was done talking
“She was all I had left. “We looked at him he continued. “She loved me since the day I came to Japan she showed me around and treated me like I was a child of her own and now— she’s gone… because you couldn”t get here a second early.” He got up walking away from us.
It wasn't our fault we were late

Let me come home, cause home is wherever when i am with you..
A/n: i am soo in love with this one. It is inspired from the song "Home" by Edith Whiskers.
Bob floyd × fem!reader
Summary: Bringing the newest member of your family home.

Everything felt so unreal. Like a dream.
It was so quiet.
And it was so peaceful.
After everything that happened that morning.
Screamings,cryings,yellings,and tears of joy.
The room was as silent as the color white.
The soft beeping sounds of machines could be heard every few minutes, but other than that, it was a void.
Compared to a few hours ago, it was peaceful now. The sounds of a crying newborn and a suffering mother were gone. Both of them were in a deep sleep, immersed in the world of dreams.
The only things visible when tiredness took over was happiness
However, sleep would have to wait since someone gently started poking your shoulder. You could tell it was Bob from the softness of the hands. His hands felt bare, except for one, due to the rings, and it was a rare and strange sight. Normally, he would even sleep with his rings on, but covering them with placenta and blood was not exactly what he wanted so he took off it and put it on his wallet, right next to your wedding polaroid.
"Baby? Sweetheart? Wake up." There was no softness in his words; he didn't want to alarm you.
As you opened your eyes, you had to squint a few times to sharpen the image. The light was quite dazzling, but it was only because you had just woken up. As always, you first focused on Bob and couldn't help but smile at his sleepy face. You knew that the smile was filled with pride and love.
"Where is he?" Even though Bob was the first thing you saw, this was the first thing on your mind.
Newest member to your little family.
All you could think of was the little bundle of love. Your greatest achievement and your greatest love. Your little birdie - as Bob called him.
Harrison Grant Floyd was born at 2:07 in the morning, weighing 3.48 kilograms. Although the pain from severe blood loss was almost as excruciating as coming out of an armed conflict, if you had to hold Harrison in your arms, you would do it all over again.
Your little birdie was born prematurely, around 4 weeks earlier, so he was smaller than most babies. He was, as both you and Bob accepted, the most delicate and delightful creature you had ever laid eyes on.
He was your creation, the most perfect thing created by both of you.
The moment he was brought to your arms, he immediately calmed down as if by magic and softened his body in your embrace. Bob watched both of you in awe, shedding tears at how strong you both were.
He was in love with both of you.
He never thought he would fall in love with you again but at that moment,he did.
And he didn't thought he would fall in love with someone else rather than you but at that moment,he did.
He was indeed a father.
The little birdie was here, and he was completely in love with him.
He was made for him.
He would give him everything he wanted.
Whenever he needed him, he would be there.
For any broken heart he suffered, he would be there to fix it.
He would always be by his side.
He would always support him.
He was in love with him…
"Sleeping over there." Bob pointed to the warm and cozy incubator that kept the newborn birdie asleep.
"Are you okay?" Wondering why he woke you up, you took his hand in yours.
With a protective stance, he stood over you, and as his forehead began to stick to your forehead, he parted your hair. His other hand was in yours, and you had never felt so safe.
When you caught the tears streaming down your cheeks, you saw the bouquet of happiness fly away as soon as you saw him running away. But he couldn't run away.
He was bound to both of you forever, and it was more than gratitude.
He couldn't leave you and your birdie; he didn't have the strength to do that because he had fallen in love with both of you again.
"Yes, my love. The doctors said we could take him home after tomorrow if we want to, but they recommend keeping him here a little longer. It's up to us." Bob looked at you with love. You couldn't help but gaze into those blue eyes that melted your heart years ago.
"I don't want to risk anything. If it's okay for you, can we keep him here a little longer?" You asked gently.
"Of course, honey. No problem. I just want what's best for him and you, okay?" He bent down to kiss your forehead and answered with a soft murmur before returning to his seat besides your bed.
...
Your dad was a complete mess.
A few hours after you woke up, your parents and Bob's parents came to the hospital to see your newborn birdie, and your mother had taken you into a relentless frenzy—she managed to do so when Bob's mother came and succeeded in getting her away from you.
Your dad had gone straight to the sleeping Harrison and stood at the head of the incubator.
He would sacrifice his life for him.
Probably everyone would.
It didn't take long for him to realize that he had the world in his hands. Harrison cried so loudly that you could swear Bob’s heart split in two—he hated that. Still, Bob came to save him and picked him up from the crib, calming him down with his lullabies.
"That's enough, my birdie. I'm here." He whispered softly, feeling his fatherly instincts kick in.
Then, Harrison was in your dad's arms, gazing at him with innocent eyes, his cries turning into quiet whimpers.
And at that moment, your father was a goner.
"Hey,man. What do you think about being a grandfather?" Bob's father, Bill, patted your father's back, trying to bring him back to reality.
"Wow. We have a birdie in the family now." Your mother commented with tears in her eyes.
"I can't believe I'm a grandmother." Bill’s wife, Tamara, was smiling from ear to ear.
Bob’s mother, Tamara, approached you and Bob with a big happy smile.
"He's beautiful, isn't he?" Sarah said, looking at Harrison in Bob's arms.
"He's perfect, just like her mother." Bob replied, exchanging a loving glance with you.
"Don't flatter me Ms.Floyd" you laughed.
....
The next few days were like a dream.
You, Bob, and Harrison spent few days in the hospital room, surrounded by the love and joy of your families. The room was filled with laughter, stories, and the occasional baby talk.
Even the whole squad came for a visit.
Bob’s parents and your parents took turns visiting, bringing gifts and expressing their excitement about the new addition to the family. They all took turns holding Harrsion, marveling at his tiny features and cooing at his cuteness.
As the days passed, Harrison’s health improved, and the doctors were pleased with his progress. The time finally came when they said you could take him home.
Bob swore he couldn't be more happy. You and Harrison being by his side and being happy.
...
Four days later, you could swear that Harrison was almost the size of a watermelon.
Okay, maybe he wasn't that big, but he was growing faster than you'd ever want to admit. He wasn't a chubby baby like both you and Bob were. He was a bundle of sweet little joy.
Last night, you fully realized that your life was about to change indefinitely, and you couldn't be more excited to take your new family home.
Both your families and Bob's had returned to your home to take care of small things for you. For example, your mom had cooked enough lasagna, pies, and curry to last you two weeks, so you and Bob didn't have to worry about cooking dinner yet. His mom had baked plenty of cakes and cleaned the house. Your dad had watered the garden and planted new flowers in pots. They were the greatest support team you could ever ask for.
Bob was currently talking about the adventures he would have with Harrison while dressing him in a blue onesie. First, he would take him home and show him his beautiful blue room and then he was already planning to take him to the base.
He would teach him how to crawl, walk, talk, swim, and run. He even added, "And no breaking hearts" looking at him with a serious face, but Harrison seemed unfazed.
"Bob!" You raised your eyebrows, he was overly protective, but oh, you loved him.
"Don't say that," you laughed to yourself while putting on the hoodie he brought for you. Getting out of that ugly hospital gown and back into your own clothes felt good. Your pregnant leggings fit you perfectly and made you feel strong. Bob couldn't keep his hands off you, so you handed him the task of dressing your son to keep him out of trouble. You were busy preparing the baby travel bag to leave.
"Stop waving your arms like that, sweetheart! Your dad is doing his best, but you're not helping, my love." Bob chattered to your son, who was attempting to put his hands in his mouth. You could already tell he would be curious about everything and anything. Whether alone or as a family, he would love life - you were sure of it.
You smiled as you watched their interaction. The perfect family. Your perfect family.
Collecting the bags, you went over to Bob, who attacked you when he saw you.
"For God's sake, drop these damn bags on the floor right now! Oh, woman, stop doing something and just rest." Bob made you put the bags next to the door, and you chose to join him in his stress.
"First, shut up," you said sternly to him, not liking the idea of him thinking you were helpless just because you gave birth. "And second, would you calm down?" You finally chuckled as you finished dressing your son. How adorable they looked, indescribable. So cute and soft. Just too innocent.
You looked at him with so much love as he looked at your son. You hoped the universe could contain all the love for him,as it wasn't big enough, it was infinite.
"Okay, I'm sorry." Bob sighed, slumping his shoulders slightly.
"Hey, talk to me. What's up?" You asked him, going to him and leaning your head against his chest. Often, near his chest, buried in his neck, even within you, was where she found the most comfort, he would say.
"He's just perfect. I don't want to mess things up," he admitted, holding you closer.
"You can't ruin anything. There's no rule for parenting. As long as you love him, keep him safe, and let him be happy, he'll know you're the best dad. You were born for this. Still, I know you are," you reassured him. You told him that your birdie was watching him. You knew Bob was watching him - how could he not? He was everything to him.
"I'm so glad I found you," Bob thanked you by kissing the top of your head. Whatever the situation, he always knew how to handle it.
Muttering in response, you pulled him a little closer. Both of you, unexpectedly, witnessed your baby boy-wrapped sneeze the quietest sneeze.
The first time.
Many firsts.
Even if he had a wet nose and hands now, this sight made your eyes watery. Harrison looked at both of you, confused about what just happened.
"Bless you!" You laughed at him, wiping him nose and hands on your sweater sleeve.
"Did you just sneeze, sweetheart? Did you do that?" Bob asked rhetorically, with a tired expression on his face. You saw him wipe his arm on his face, clearly being as teary as you were. He saw you looking at him and blushed.
"Shut your mouth." He told you what he had said to himself.
Every moment was so beautiful...
Car ride to home was quite but peaceful.
Fresh flowers filled the air.
A few days ago, when you rushed to the hospital, the house didn't look the same as you left it. Now, it was covered in flowers, cards, ballons and gifts. Notes from everyone, your friends, whole squad, some relatives, bob's frienfs collegues and some other people.
Roses bloomed on the bushes in the garden. Tulips in various colors wrapped in brown paper adorned every inch of your kitchen counter. Lavish vases that looked extravagantly expensive stood in your living and dining rooms. Yet, the only flowers in your bedroom were the ones Bob brought for you. He had taken them this morning before you came home, claiming that he was proud of you and proud to call you his.
The whole house smelled like a botanical garden. This morning, in addition to that, there were the scents of freshly baked pastries your mom had made for you before you came home. Croissants and cakes waited proudly on the kitchen side.
Passing through the front door of your house, you hadn't felt this grateful for being home. Everyone had left; it was just you, Bob, and your baby boy heading home together.
Before leaving, they insisted on all of you spending a few days and nights together. It was crucial for all of you to bond comfortably in the comfort of your own home. The next few days would be tough, but you hoped that being together would help you get through it.
Getting out of the car with Bob carrying the bags, you went to the front door and opened it carefully. After entering, he turned to close the door tightly behind him, but before he could go too far down the hallway, you had to cough to get his attention.
"Did we forget something?" You looked at him as if he were a madman.
"What?" Bob stared at you in confusion, furrowing his brows until lines appeared on his forehead.
"Maybe our 4-day-old son is behind our car?" You asked him rhetorically, wondering how he could forget so quickly - dad brain.
"Right. Yes. Our son." Bob muttered to himself as he turned to open the front door and went outside to fetch your precious birdie.
"My baby,my baby!" You burst into laughter at his shoutsas he went. He returned with a beaming smile, holding Harrison who was hiding in his car seat, sleeping as peacefully as a bug in a rug.
"Thanks, Mr. Floyd." You teased, thinking how if you had married Joe from high school instead of Bob, you would never have so many gifts and flowers. Or this much love.
Still, you wouldn't want anyone else but him. He was perfect. He was more than enough. In fact, he was more.
"Yeah, what can I say? I'm a damn good dad now!" He inflated his ego, but a swift hit to his upper arm quickly deflated it.
"I'll do more than hit your arm if you curse in front of our son again," you warned, not wanting your son's first word to be a bad one - even if it meant months of silence from him.
"Yes, ma'am." He nodded sternly, grinning at the turn of events, acknowledging your newfound authority. He left the room before getting into more trouble, announcing that he was heading to Harrison's crib in the living room.
You sighed as you looked around the room. Tonight, you didn't want to deal with it, so you turned around, left the room, and followed Bob's footsteps. He had already knelt beside the crib, tucking your precious little birdie under a blanket carefully knitted by Penny.
Bob's mom had knitted a hat and gloves for him to wear outside in the winter. For now, he would sleep safely under your roof until he was ready for the world to see him.
"I want him to be ours forever," you whispered to bob, kneeling beside him and leaning over, bending your knees towards the floor.
"Me too, love." He pulled you closer, wrapping his arm around your shoulder. The two of you watched him, as quiet as he slept.
He was an angel in its truest form.
He was your blessing.
"I love him so much." You told Bob and in return, you received a sigh of contentment.
He was trying so hard to hold back tears, but seeing your little boy sleeping so peacefully, he couldn't be strong enough to withhold the tears.
Then silence enveloped you again.
There was no need for words between you two; both of you knew what you were thinking:
How lucky you both were.
Having each other was a miracle, but having him was another thing entirely. He was everything. All soft and delicate, but even at a few days old, heartbreakingly beautiful. He was everything you and Bob had ever wanted. All the tears, morning sickness, and pains were worth it for this moment - and all the moments after.
"Do you still think he's breathing?" Bob broke the silence, and as you followed him, he did seem to be not breathing.
Though as still as a statue, you could see his tiny chest rising and falling, up and down. His little hands were by hishead, as if he were trying to cheer himself up, and his face was tilted to the side, looking at both of you. Even though he looked lifeless, you could see her efforts.
"Shut your mouth, you're scaring me!" You laughed at his ridiculous comment. Tears of happiness. Tears of relief and joy.
Family life had just begun, and you were so ready for it…
Thank you for reading💙💙

_____________________________________
PoV (Y/N):
The sun was starting to set as I set out to punch the Dixon brothers. I waited at their tents, trying to calm myself. “Which bitch is standing in front of my tent now?” I heard an aggressive voice. Although I had been a little calmer until now, the anger was boiling inside me again.
I looked angrily at the Dixon brothers, who had squirrels and a badger with them. They were probably hunting again, because that was their only job in this camp. Daryl looked at me for a moment before turning his gaze to the floor. "Are you kidding me!?" I just screamed loudly. "How can you scream at an 8 year old so that she runs screaming and crying to her mother!?" I screamed loudly again. Merle laughed briefly while Daryl tensed. Then Merle walked towards me and he threw the dead animals to the ground. He was now standing right in front of me, I could smell his bad breath as well as his sweat.
"Yar 8 year old gurl went after ma brotha! She’s probably just as much of a slut as ya!” Merle's words made me pause for a moment. So (D/N) really didn't listen to me and looked for Daryl. She had probably given him the necklace. I looked at Daryl briefly before pushing Merle away and walking towards him. I held out my hand angrily, he knew exactly what I wanted. "Give it back to me. You don’t deserve it, dirty Dixon.” I said angrily. Daryl looked at me annoyed for a moment before pulling the necklace out of his pocket and throwing it in my face.
"She wa´ ugly anyway." He hissed before ramming into me and walking away. Merle followed his little brother before I went away to cool off. (D/N) was lying in our tent, she was still sniffling and small tears were rolling down her cheeks. I sat down next to her and pulled her into a hug. "Is everything ok, honey?" I whispered quietly. "Mom… why do Merle and Daryl hate us so much…? They remind me of Dad…” Her words made me jump for a moment.
The memories of my ex-husband, her father, came back and I also felt tears in my eyes. "I don't know, honey… I don't know…" I murmured quietly. (D/N)'s father and I knew each other for a long time before we got together. We were actually an inseparable couple, but I got pregnant from him and from then on everything changed. He slept with other women while I had to go through the pregnancy alone, and when (D/N) was born, he beat me and raped me multiple times a day.
(D/N) noticed everything sometimes, especially when her father yelled at me. He wasn't any better to (D/N). He constantly yelled at her and sometimes locked her in her room without giving her anything to eat. When the world ended, we secretly packed a few things before running away. Before that, however, I opened all the doors so that the walkers ate him. I could hear his screams and they still haunt me sometimes, to this day. (D/N) fell asleep after a while while I continued to stay awake, staring into space.
Tears streamed down my face as I had my hand over my mouth so as not to wake (D/N), or anyone else. It was only after several minutes that I calmed down so that I could at least get some sleep. The next morning my eyes were still slightly swollen and reddish from my tears, but I ignored it too. Since (D/N) was used to seeing my eyes like that, she didn't ask. But Lori and Carol noticed. They asked me if everything was okay, but I assured them that I was okay.
That same day, Glenn, Tdog, Andrea, Merle and Morales were sent out to look for new supplies. At least Merle was gone now for a few days, we could just ignore Daryl. (D/N) and I sat together and read a book together. She was getting better and better and I was happy to see that she was enjoying reading. Suddenly I heard someone walking towards us and I immediately looked around. Luckily for me, it was Daryl walking towards us.
I glared at him as he slowly walked towards us. He wanted to kneel down next to (D/N), but I immediately pulled my daughter away from him. "Hey, I didn't yell at yar lil one…" Daryl just grumbled, pissed off. "That's right, Mom…" (D/N) just murmured quietly. I sensed that she wanted to get off me, so I let her. (D/N) sat back down between Daryl and me and continued reading the book.
Daryl looked at her for a moment before raising his hand. (D/N) and I immediately jumped and I pressed her against me protectively. Daryl looked at us in shock for a moment before carefully lowering his hand and gently patting (D/N)'s head. (D/N) and I immediately relaxed again, while Daryl then looked at me quietly. "I wan´ the necklace back…" He then murmured quietly.
For a moment I didn't understand what he meant by that, before I carefully pulled out the necklace from (D/N) and gave it to him. "Thank´…" He just mumbled before he got up and went into the forest. "Why is Daryl so nice, Mom?" (D/N) asked me while stroking her head. "I don't know…" I just mumbled quietly as I watched him go.
We decided not to read any further, instead we went to Dale and she watched the birds with him. I went to Carol and Jacqui's, who were cooking something to eat for tonight. The others came back that same day, but without Merle.
But another man came along. He was wearing a police uniform and looked around uncertainly. But suddenly Carl screamed loudly and he ran towards the man, just like Lori. Carl kept shouting 'Dad!', so it was immediately clear to me who this man was.
I walked uncertainly towards Tdog, who looked at Glenn, who silenced the red car and got a lecture from Dale. "Where is Merle?" I asked. Tdog just looked at me uncertainly before explaining what had happened. Merle was chained to a roof because he wanted to attack Tdog and the others. But the key fell from the handcuffs and he couldn't pick them up.
"I didn't mean to…" Tdog muttered at the end. "It's all okay… Merle is… well, Merle… the only one who won't stay calm is Daryl…" I murmured quietly. Tdog nodded very tensely before I then went to (D/N). (D/N) didn't even ask about Merle, as if she didn't even know he was there. I told her to stay close to me tomorrow because I was afraid of how Daryl would react. You never knew, especially when it came to Merle. Daryl didn't come back until the next day.
Next Chapter!!!

I know it’s a few days late, but any chance we can get a tiny Matt and Hallie winning the cup blurb? I miss them.
This is way late, but yes. I will always accept any suggestions about writing Matthew and Hallie. They are my whole heart🤍I hope you love this.
Hallie had never been more uncomfortable in her life as she shifted her weight in the seat, easing her way back down. The pressure in her legs and feet was immense, and the “comfy” leggings she’d opted to wear weren’t comfy at all, but they sure beat sitting in jeans for 60 minutes after she’d given birth.
5:45
That was all that was left in game 7.
A wild rollercoaster this playoff series had been. With wins losses, and a brand new baby tkachuk born between games 6 and 7. Thomas and baby Lilly, who wasn’t the baby anymore were seated between Keith and Chantal, Taryn was holding the newest member of the family Joshua, who had come roaring into the world only 3 days prior, and Brady was sitting next to her. Hallie was exhausted, excited, nauseous, and she had to pee more than she’d ever had to in her life but nothing could pry her out of her seat at this moment. Watching Florida fall last summer in Vegas had been awful. The fallout from a hard fought series had been even worse, and the injury that Matthew had suffered has been a terrible start to the summer, and caused weeks of turmoil in their homes. The result at the end when the final buzzer went off would make it all worth it. She hoped.
She glanced at the clock.
1:00 left.
She felt someone bump her and she looked over the find Brady grinning. Wordlessly he reached for her hand, intertwining their fingers and gave it a squeeze.
“I’m so happy to have you here with us.” He said so that only she could hear.
If the result at the end of the game wasn’t going to bring her to tears, Brady definitely did. She felt like it was only a short bit ago that he’d wiped her tears, held her hand and promised to keep her secret about Lilly back in Calgary, every bit as loving as an uncle and brother in law could be, should be, and was. As the minutes ticked by, and the clock wound down she and Brady made their way to their feet, still holding hands.
5 4 3 2 1
Everyone in the suite started to scream including Thomas and Lilly, and Hallie felt hot tears streaming down her face as she watched sticks, helmets and gloves fly all over the ice and the benches clear.
He had done it. Her Matthew was a Stanley cup champion. Brady too was crying as they turned to eachother, fingers still entwined and each let out a strangled cry before they leaned in to hug.
“He did it!” Brady whisper yelled in her ear as he squeezed her tightly and they swayed on the spot. When he let her go he leaned down to accept Thomas’s high five “Up top buddy! Daddy won!”
“Does this mean you will win one next year?” Thomas asked with a big smile “Because if you don’t, daddy will make fun of you.”
The group around them laughed as Brady slapped the brim of Thomas’s hat, pushing it down over his eyes while he giggled and straightened himself out, turning to look up at Hallie. He reached forward and squeezed Hallie’s leg, big smile full of missing teeth. He looked so much like Matthew.
“Thomas look!” Keith called. Hallie glanced up to see them on the Jumbotron and Thomas started flapping his arms around and making a big fuss.
She accepted hugs from Keith and Chantal, the other wives and girlfriends, and finally Taryn who gave her one and handed Josh back, as he started to fuss.
Hallie pulled out a bottle and sat to feed him. Her legs and lower body were killing her and she desperately needed some sleep, but this was all worth it now. Her kids had gotten to see their dad win a Stanley cup. How cool was that? Well not Joshua because he slept through the whole thing, but when they talked about it years from now he would know he was there. She let out a breath and turned her eyes to the Jumbotron to watch the festivities down on the ice. Families weren’t allowed out there until the handshake line ended, and the cup was passed from player to player so she had time to get her thoughts together before then. Everything seemed blurry around her as she watched the cup get passed, waiting with baited breath as it got closer to Matthew. He’d done a lot of great things since she’d known him, but this accomplishment would take the cake. His achievements as a hockey player now matched his achievement of being a great father.
She felt a hand on her arm “Hey mama. They’re ready for us.” Chantal smoothed a piece of her hair and gave her shoulder a squeeze “Proud of you honey. You made this week even better by giving us another little angel.”
She smiled and closed her eyes with a nod, another tear running down her cheek. As Chantal helped her to her feet they began to gather their things and make their way out of the suite to the steps.
“Do you want me to take him back?” Taryn asked from behind her.
“No I got him but can you grab my bag please?” Taryn hitched it over he shoulder and fell instep behind her as they formed a line.
“Brady stand in front of her so she doesn’t fall. Be careful walking.” Keith commented motioning at the stairs as she made her way slowly down them, sliding against the wall to keep her balance while she couldn’t grab the railing. She could feel her phone buzzing in her jacket pocket and the texts from friends and probably Carly and Noah, who’d promised they’d be watching, but she would answer those later. Right now, she just needed to see Matthew.
People were everywhere on the ice as media, families and staff began to filter on to it. People were crying, yelling and celebrating. Kids ran to dads, girlfriends ran to boyfriends, parents congratulated their sons with proud tears in their eyes.
“Daddy!” Thomas exclaimed pointing.
Matthew turned and spotted them, smiling so wide Hallie thought his face might crack. Thomas hurried ahead of her, nearly falling as he reached him and she made her way gingerly across the ice with the rest of the family. He accepted hugs, congratulations, and pats on the back from all his family members until it was just her left after she passed Joshua to Chantal. He put a hand on either side of her face reached a thumb out to wipe a mascara streak away.
“Why are you crying?” He asked leaning down to look at her.
“I’m just so proud of you.”
“Be proud of you too. Without you, none of this would have happened. My life sucked before I met you, and look at us now.” He motioned over her shoulder and she turned “We have a beautiful house, three beautiful kids, 2 cats and a Stanley cup. And it’s all because you agreed to go out with me. We should put your name on this cup.”
She snorted out a laugh and wiped her nose “Well if you insist.” She reached forward and squeezed him as tightly as she could, eyes closing as she listened to the roar of the celebration behind them.
He ran a hand over her hair and was quiet a second before he said casually “So when do you want to have another baby?”
She whipped her head up and started laughing, wiping the wetness under her eyes “Funny guy. If I hadn’t just had one 4 days ago, I’d indulge you but tough luck.”
“Damn.”
“Maybe if you win one next season we can talk.”
He grinned and kissed the side of her head before turning to look at Brady “Your gonna be an uncle again bro.”
Brady looked Hallie up and down and frowned, confused “Wait-what? But you-what?”
“Nevermind. Come on, they wanna do pictures. Let’s get one without the cup first.”
The Tkachuk’s hustled in to crowd around Matthew as his teammates took turns taking pictures with the cup. To his right, Keith, Chantal, Thomas in front holding Matthew’s hand. To the left Brady, Taryn and Lilly. She held baby Joshua, and Matthew reached an arm around her and gave her a squeeze.
This was her family. A family she once didn’t even want to be a part of. Anyone who said good luck wasn’t real had never experienced it. She smiled softly as she turned back to the photographer.
“Alright Tkachuk’s. Smile!”

Where The Tides Reside - Chapter 23

Chapter List | Follow us on Novel Updates
**********
I must be really drunk. My eyes are hazy, and I'm so dizzy. I can feel the struggle of the person supporting me because I'm swaying too. I kept staring at the person who looked like JM in front of me.
"Do you know?" I said, disoriented, then hiccupped. "You look like someone I know who's a pain in my life right now."
I laughed as if out of my mind. I closed my eyes when I felt the coldness of the night. I don't know where we are or what happened to the foreigner I was with earlier, but I'm sure we're far from Vizcara. All I could hear were the waves, and the smell of beer lacing with this man's perfume was making me weaker.
"Uh-huh?" I heard his mocking reply, so I opened my eyes again.
"Yes! He's annoying!" I even stomped my feet. "He thinks he's so handsome!"
The man holding me chuckled, so I furrowed my brow at him. I hate how he really resembled JM. It added to my irritation, and at the same time, to my pounding heart. I wanted to believe he really was JM, even for the time being.
"Are you laughing at me, you jerk?" I hiccupped again. "You're all the same."
"Wayo, c'mon. We're almost there. You need to sober up."
Out of annoyance, I pushed him hard. I almost fell when he let go of me, but I didn't hesitate and immediately ran. My hands were raised, and my eyes were closed as I felt the wind. The sound of crashing waves was getting nearer. When I felt water on my sandy feet, I knew I had reached my destination.
"You all are motherfuckers! Just like my motherfucking life!" I yelled by the sea.
My vision blurred again, and it wasn't due to drunkenness. Fresh tears streamed down my face. The heaviness in my chest couldn't be contained anymore and overflowed like a faucet. I felt so horrible. From then, until now, I felt so unwanted. I felt like no one wanted me.
"Wayo!" The man who looked like JM once again came nearer to me.
"Am I hard to love?" I said, crying, still facing the sea. "My family, the man I loved, the...now. I don't know what's wrong with me, but why do they hurt me like this?"
I looked at my palms and let my tears fall there. It was as cold as the waves that were touching my feet. I don't know when was the last time I felt this, but I feel like I can pour out all my resentments again now. And once again, this island was the witness...also, the man beside me.
"There's nothing wrong with you," the man beside me gently said. "And you're definitely not hard to like."
I laughed and tried to look at him. My dizziness had lessened, and the pounding in my chest was now mixed with anxiety. I still convinced myself that all of this was a hallucination...especially him.
"You're not sure. I think I was just born into this world to be hurt, you know."
He raised one hand, and I closed my eyes as his thumb caressed my cheek. He wiped my tears away, gently. So gently that it made my heart ache for more.
"I like you," he said with apparent difficulty. "I like you, Wayo."
I froze in my spot. I got tongue-tied. I laughed slightly and bowed my head.
"Even his doppleganger is also a liar."
I heard him sigh. He gently held my hand. I lifted my head, and the shining moon caught my gaze.
"Let's get you home."
I silently and quietly followed him. I just kept my head down, looking at my sandy feet. I smiled bitterly.
Like. I don't know why, but when I heard that earlier, it hurt me even more. It was as if he confirmed that I was only meant to be liked. He just liked me, but didn't love me. And that would never happen...because I knew who he truly loved.
**********
The next morning, I woke up with a slight headache. I stared blankly out of my small window. I hadn't forgotten what happened last night. Everything was clear, even the pain in my chest.
I was only pulled out of my thoughts by a gentle knocking that caught my attention. I looked at my bedroom door and saw Teyang's head peeking in.
"Girl, are you awake?" they asked absentmindedly.
"No, I'm asleep, girl. As you can see." I laughed, but I was puzzled because they looked like they were about to poop or something. "What's wrong? Is there a problem?"
Worried, I got out of bed. I started to worry too. It's rare for me to see Teyang like this, and if so, something bad has happened.
"B-Because, girl, there's a visitor outside. They're looking for you," they said nervously.
My brows immediately furrowed. A visitor? If it was JM or anyone, they'd definitely tease me. But Teyang looked nervous and serious at the same time.
"Who?"
"I-It's better if you go out and see for yourself."
My lips formed a grim line. I was getting nervous too! What is this? If this was really a prank because I came home drunk last night, these two gays would really get it from me.
As I went downstairs, my heart started to pound. Teyang silently followed me. When I saw the entire bar downstairs, Tenten and Mama were the first ones I saw. Tenten was hiding behind Mama, who looked displeased and annoyed at whatever or whoever he was looking at.
"Ma?" I called for his attention.
Mama's eyes were serious when they met mine. He gestured with his head towards what he was looking at earlier. I slowly looked there, and when I saw the person they called my visitor, I almost fell. Teyang immediately held me.
My body trembled, and my rising anger slowly went up to my head. What was he doing here? How did he know I was here? Do they also know?
"Warren."
That person stood up and seemed to be feeling around as he looked at me. My breathing quickened when I got downstairs. I immediately rushed towards him, but Tenten and Teyang were quick to stop me.
"Why are you here! Why did you show yourself to me again!" I screamed.
My headache wasn't helping with my anger. Just seeing him. His face, which resembled mine. I wanted to vomit. The pain of the past that I desperately wanted to let go of was returning. I couldn't stop my tears from the mix of pain and anger.
"Warren let's-"
"Leave! If you're with them, then all of you leave! I don't need you anymore! I'm happy with my life now!"
My veins almost popped from my shouting. He was clearly annoyed too, but he was still trying to approach me. If Teyang wasn't holding me, I probably would have completely lunged at him. I looked outside Vizcara because I thought he might be with them, but it seemed he was alone.
Why? Why is one of the people who caused my misery here now? The one I used to call family. The one who used to be my older brother.

The Royal Solution
*SEQUEL TO "I Should Have Known"*
Queen Claudia Rosiland Martinus III has been queen of France for more than twenty years. But for the first time today, found herself sprinting through the castle's hallways. As soon as a servant bore the news that her niece or nephew was about to be born, she dropped everything she was doing and ran. Captain Marlowe did his best to keep up with the queen who's aged gracefully, but his attempts were in vain. "Your Majesty! Please be careful!" The captain yelled, watching as the queen ran down the halls. "There's no time captain!" She smiled, eyeing her target. Claudia's smile widened as she saw the royal physician standing outside Isabelle and Victor's room with a smile mirroring hers. "Doctor, is Isabelle alright?" She asks, twiddling her glove-covered hands together. "Both Isabelle and your niece are perfectly healthy." The doctor assures the queen. Claudia felt tears of joy fll her eyes as she processed his words. The man bows before swiftly exiting the hallway to leave the family alone. Just as he leaves her line of sight, Captain Marlowe finally enters it. Marlowe looks at Claudia with an unimpressed look on his face. But as she flashed him a rare grin, his icy heart melted. The captain had been by her side since her coronation when Claudia was only a child and had a soft spot for the queen. But after Desmond's betrayal almost a year ago, Claudia changed. The poor woman had become paranoid and irritable, a force to reckon with, but now she was just a woman who wanted to meet her niece.
Creak
Claudia's head shot towards the noise, her excitement growing as she saw her brother exit his bedroom with a grin. "Queen Claudia Martinus III… would you like to come to meet your niece," Victor asks, tears of joy running down his face. "I would be honored." She responds, gripping his hand. Her brother smiled and opened his door. As they walked in the doorway, Isabelle was visibly holding a tiny bundle in the blanket gifted her when Claudia had heard of her pregnancy. The woman looks up when she senses another presence. "Claudia!" She gasps. "Hello, Isabelle." The queen greeted, walking to her side. They stare at one another, basking in the calm silence. "How are you?" Claudia asked, sitting at her sister's side. "Amazing. Tired. Everything in between." She chuckles. Victor chuckles at his wife's side. "Would you like to hold her?" Victor asks. "I would be honored to hold her." She grinned from ear to ear. Isabelle sat up carefully. Claudia leaned her body towards the child and cradled her niece to my chest. She's stunning, with Claudia and Victor's dark hair and her mother's nose, but she has two different colored eyes, one brown and one green, both stunning. "What's her name?" Isabelle looks into her eyes, "Queen Claudia the Champion, I'd like to introduce you to Princess Adeline Josette Celine Martinus Rochefort. Betrothed to Princess Nadia Sergei Melina Zara Golkov of Bulgaria." Tears stream down Claudia's face, "I'd like to ask you something." Her brother and his wife nodded. "I would like to declare Adeline as my heir." She spits out. They stare at her, shock dawning upon their faces. "Really?" Victor chokes out. He looks at his sister with confusion. "Victor, none of my children made it close to birth. I'm getting older, unmarried, with no heir of my own. Your daughter, your Adeline, is my blood. I would be overjoyed to have this little girl as my successor." She tells them, watching their blank faces. They both touch her shoulder, "We would be honored.

Betrayal (Ch. III) ~
Hello my lovely readers! Here is the third chapter for y’all! I’m going to keep it short so you can get on to reading this! Enjoy~
A few weeks had passed, and you were healing up nicely. Kai would check up on you every now and then to make sure the wounds were still stitched together, but that was about it. All the other times he came to you were to talk about what has been going on since you were last attacked.
During these past few weeks, you have become much closer to him. You had learned a lot about Kai and his family, and he learned a lot about you. You told him of what happened to you and Morax, about Guizhong, and about what is causing these creatures to reappear. Knowing that people he loved died because of another archon lit something inside of him. He couldn’t believe someone would do something so horrendous just to keep someone away.
After you told him your stories, he then told you his story. You learned that he had an older sister and a mother, Kiana and Amai.. He told you they were wonderful and smart people. His mother was a doctor, which is where Kai learned all of his medical knowledge from. His sister was a soldier, working and protecting their small town from other dangers.
When you asked about his dad, he told you he barely knew him since he died at a young age. He died right when Asuka was born due to an unknown disease. All he could remember was that he was a wonderful dad. He was the commander of the soldiers, telling them where to go and what to do. But he didn't just give orders. He fought along them. He wasn’t scared to fight as he knew he was doing it for the good of his people. He was also known to be a very kind and open-minded man, even after all he’s gone through.
The day of his death was a painful one. Not just for his family, but for everyone else. He was a good man, and an honorable one at that. Many people came to his funeral to give their thanks to him and his family. After he died, Kai’s mother, sister, and brother were all he had left. However, a few years later, this changed drastically when they went to a small forest.
He told you he remembered it like it was yesterday. They were all out scavenging for food to cook. They had been out there for a few hours with no issues. That was until Kiana went to go search for some berries on her own. A good 30 minutes had passed when all of a sudden, he heard his sister scream loudly. Amai snapped her head towards the direction and immediately followed the sound, fearful of what she would find.
She sprinted as fast as she could, but not fast enough unfortunately.
Once Amai made it to her daughter, her eyes widened as tears instantly began to fall. In front of her, Amai saw her very own daughter dead on the ground, bears tearing her apart. She yelled out of instinct, causing the bears to chase after her as well. Amai quickly ran back, trying to save herself so that she could reach Asuka and Kai, but she had tripped over a large tree stump that was out of her sight. She had hurt herself going down, resulting in the bears catching up to her.
Kai heard his mother scream in terror, making him grab onto Asuka. Without thinking, he ran away back to the town, fearing his and Asuka’s life. Tears were streaming down Kai’s face as he knew he had just lost his sister and his mother, leaving only him and his little brother..
He still remembers hearing Asuka’s cries as he wanted his mother. Kai was only 11, while Asuka was only 1.
When he told you, you apologized to him, horrified to hear what he and Asuka had to go through. He told you not to be sorry as it wasn’t your fault. He even said you reminded him of his sister. Very ambitious and strong. That’s when he started to treat you as a sisterly figure, causing him to be protective of you every now and then.
This led you two to have a strong bond together. Not only with Kai, but also with the other two. Even after what happened to them, they still stood strong and worked their way through it. You even thought they were braver than some of the archons you knew, especially Airi.
You knew her parents died due to the wolves that Guizhong created, but you didn’t know how long ago it was.
While you were still new to the area after being severely wounded, Kai told you what happened to her parents. Apparently her mother and father went out to go help buy supplies for the town. They bought things such as food, water, clothing, weapons, etc. They did everything they could to help around. Unfortunately, luck was not on their side this time.
When they went out to buy more items, the sun had already disappeared behind the horizon. Unbeknownst to them, a pack of wolves had already been wandering around, lurking in the dark. When they caught sight of the mother, they gathered up and attacked her. The husband saw this and tried to help his wife, fighting with all he had to stop the wolves. But just two of them were no match to a pack of the ferocious beasts that surrounded them.
The next day had passed, and people all over the town were worrying about them, noticing that they weren’t back yet. A group of soldiers had went out on a search party to find them, only to return back with what was left of them. It was mostly bits of their clothes and accessories. Everyone was devastated, but Airi…she was absolutely torn when she learned her mother and father weren’t going to even make it back to her. Kai told you that she would cry every night as she missed her parents tucking her into bed. Or she would miss talking to them at the dinner table. Or how she would miss the feeling of her mother brushing her hair while singing sweet and melodic melodies to her right before bedtime.
It was definitely a struggle for her, but over time, she slowly became stronger and stronger, and the nights that passed were quieter and quieter.
After finding out about what happened to Airi’s parents, you couldn’t help but act as her other parent. She trusted you and because of that, you two held a strong mother-daughter bond, even though you two weren’t even related in the slightest. She would always hang out with you when Kai and Asuka had to go look for food or medicine. She would always offer you her toys to help keep you entertained…and she would even offer you her food if she thought you needed it. Of course, you always denied her offers, knowing fully well that she needed it the most. But it was nice to know she cared for you so much.
The close bonding all of you made resulted in you all hanging out often. It didn’t matter where you all went, you just hung out any place you could that you knew would be safe.
Now, you were out and about with Kai, Asuka, and Airi playing out in the field. Of course you were just watching, still a little sore from the last incident, but nevertheless, you enjoyed watching them have fun. You watched Asuka and Airi play in the grass, playing with their little toys. Airi had a stuffed bunny, while Asuka had a horse. They were playing house with them, which you thought was adorable.
“Cute, aren’t they?” Kai said, sitting down next to you.
You looked over to him and smiled.
“Very.” You chuckled.
“They absolutely love and cherish those plushies. It’s hard to find something like that around these areas.” He said with a smile
“Really? How’d they get them?” You Asked.
Kai shifted a bit, getting comfortable.
“They got those toys from Airi’s parents as gifts. They were more on the wealthy side before all of this started to happen. They wanted to make sure those two got the best of the best.” Kai said with a small smile
“Oh?”
“Yeah. The Liyue’s were great people. They were always providing anything if someone else needed it. They even helped buy us medicine for those who got injured during the time the wolves stopped by. They helped rebuild small buildings as well when they were torn down.” He said.
You looked at your hands, unsure of what else to say
“It’s a shame what happened to them.” He spoke, finishing his sentence.
You looked down at the kids, watching them play and run around happily. The sun was shining right on them in a perfect manner, creating a gorgeous orange silhouette. They both looked like angels with how they were glowing.
You then looked back at Kai with an apologetic look that he didn’t see.
“They’re very close.” He said, referring to the children. After a few seconds of silence passed, he then turned to you with a sad smile
“I’m glad they have each other to rely on. At least I know they won’t be alone if anything ever happened to me.” He continued, making you stare at him with confusion.
‘What do you mean?”
Another moment of silence passed by you two as Kai looked out towards the kids.
“The creatures…they are starting to get out of hand. I just got word that 10 people in another town nearby were killed by two of them.” he said, making you look down.
You couldn’t understand why Guizhong was still doing this. But all you knew was that you needed to help put an end to this. You couldn’t allow her to keep harming others.
You placed your hand on Kai’s in a reassuring way. He looked at you with saddened eyes.
“Don’t worry. I promise to put an end to this all. I will make sure you all don’t have to keep going through this.” You said with determination.
Kai smiled at you, nodding.
“And I’ll be right there with you.” He said.
You two smiled at each other, your mouth beginning to open to talk.
Before you could respond, you heard Airi scream, making you and Kai snap your heads to them to see what was going on.
You saw Airi picking something up, making you and Kai get up.
“Airi, be careful!” Asuka said with worry.
You and Kai looked at each other hesitantly. Whatever Airi was doing didn’t seem to be hurting her or Asuka, but you two had to be sure.
You continued to watch her, ready to fight if needed.
Suddenly, Airi came back up with the biggest smile you had ever seen.
You looked down and immediately dropped your defense once you saw what she had in hand.
Airi had picked up a small bunny. A real one.
You and Kai both breathed a sigh of relief.
“Airi, don’t go screaming like that. You scared us.” Kai said, rubbing his temples..
Airi smiled as she snuggled up to the small creature, kissing its forehead
You sat down next to her and Asuka, calling for Airis' attention. She looked at you with curiosity, walking up to you.
“What is it Ms. Y/n?” She asked
You smiled and placed your hand on the bunny.
“I just wanted to pet the bunny. She’s very soft, huh?” You replied, feeling the silky soft fur on the bunny.
“Yeah! But I’ve never seen a bunny like her before. What is she?” Airi asked, making you smile as you took the soft animal in your hands.
“This is an Eridasia bunny. They are extremely rare to find due to their slow reproduction rate. But you can always tell what it is just by looking at its eyes.” You said, showing her the different eyes
“Woah! She has two different colors!” Airi said with excitement.
You chuckled and nodded
“Yes. They are very unique to these bunnies. They even glow brightly to scare off any predators that may be lurking around.” You said, seeing how amazed Airi was.
She quickly grabbed the bunny back, hugging it tightly.
“Oh! I’ve always wanted a pet bunny! Can I keep her? Please?” Airi asked, making you smile a bit
“I’m sorry, sweetheart. But unfortunately since they are so rare, it would be dangerous to keep it from its kind. Plus, you wouldn’t want to keep the poor thing locked away from its friends, would you?” You asked, making her shake her head
“No…”she said sadly.
You looked up at her with concern. You knew how much she loved bunnies…but you also knew it wouldn’t be right to keep the bunny away from its place and family. You shifted a bit, getting a more comfortable position as you opened your mouth to speak.
“Tell you what.” You began, making her look at you
“How about you keep the bunny for just today. But by sundown, you have to let her go back to her friends. Does that sound good?” You asked, making her face instantly light up.
“Oh yes! Thank you, Ms. Y/n! Thank you!!” She said as she hugged you tightly. You smiled as you hugged her back, quickly letting her go play with her bunny.
“Come on Asuka, let’s go play with the bunny.!” She said, pulling the boy with her.
They then ran together a few meters away from you, playing with and petting the small thing.
You and Kai looked at each other, giggling at how cute the kids were.
–with Guizhong–
Guizhong was getting more frustrated by the day. Why, you ask? Because Morax still wouldn't stop thinking about you. Yes, it has gotten better since she showed him the evidence of your ‘death’, but every now and then, he would bring it back up. Y/n this, Y/n that. It was becoming infuriating for her.
She had tried so much to get his attention and to make him fall in love with her, but it was no use. She tried baking for him, she tried taking him out for lunch, she even tried to train with him, but nothing was working. Though, that never stopped her. She would do anything if it meant he would fall in love with her.
And that’s exactly what she was trying to do right now. A few hours ago, Guizhong had practically begged Morax to go on a little walk with her. When he finally agreed to go, she was ecstatic. The two got ready and headed down a familiar trail, the one that led to a pathway full of flowers and greenery.
She and Morax sat down near a large tree and talked about little things that were going on. But it wasn’t full of passion like when he would talk to you.. It was just small talk with a large silence between each subject.
Guizhong couldn’t handle it. She just couldn’t understand why he wouldn’t give in. This resulted in her walking away. When asked where she was going, she responded that she was just going to walk around for a bit before she returned.
Part of her had hoped that Morax would ask her to stay, or ask if he could go with her. But the more she walked away, the more she realized that wasn’t going to happen. She took one last glance at Morax, seeing his deadened stare as he played with a small flower.
Guizhong rolled her eyes, walking more into the forest they were in. She couldn’t believe she was still struggling to get his attention. What did it take? How far would she have to go? Would she even be able to succeed in-
All those thoughts ran through her head, until she stopped midway to see something shining ahead of her.
Curious, she walked quietly over to the area, kneeling down to get a better view.
She pushed the grass away, seeing none other than a bracelet. A familiar one at that.
She picked up the golden bracelet, observing it.
“To my dearest friend. - Morax”
Guizhong scoffed at the quote, knowing exactly whose it was.
However, before she got back up, she was curious to see what happened to you after she killed you.
She quickly raised her hand, a swirl of dust forming in front of her to create a circle.
“Show me where she is.” Guizhong said sternly, touching the dusty sphere.
Within an instant, an image of you showed. However, it wasn’t you dead. In fact, it was quite the opposite!
You were alive and well! And with others surrounding you!
Guizhong got a better look at who the others were, only to see one familiar face.
“That little brat!” Guizhong yelled, snapping the bracelet in half. She saw the little girl who she had talked to a few months ago.
“She must’ve helped Y/n after I left!”
Suddenly, Guizhong raised her other hand, a sinister smile making its way to her face.
“Well, it doesn't matter. I will finish her off again! What’s a couple of people going to do against 50 of my beautiful creations?” Guizhong said, chuckling to herself.
All in one, dust began to swirl around her, forming numerous circles around her as she created 50 more wolves, seeing what they were seeing.
“Let the fight begin…” She said darkly.
–back with you–
You were enjoying your time with Kai, Asuka, and Airi. It was getting closer and closer to sundown though and you knew you all had better start getting ready to head home.
“I can’t believe how dark it has gotten.” You said, looking at the sky.
“I know. It’s crazy how fast time goes when you are having fun.” He replied
“Yeah. I only wish it did the same for when you were bored.” You complained, making him nod
“Tell me about it.”
You two continued to talk about random things that popped up, when all of a sudden, Airi and Asuka ran over to you with concerned eyes.
“What’s the matter sweetheart?” You asked, seeing her distress.
“The bunny! Its eyes are glowing!” She exclaimed.
You turned over to see the bunny. It was just standing out in the open, not moving a muscle. The only thing moving was the bunny’s fur from the wind. It was very eerie to say the least.
“Stay here.” You said, sitting the kids next to Kai.
You quietly got up, walking over to the small bunny to check on it.
“Hey, are you alright?” You asked, seeing the glowing eyes of the bunny. It didn’t respond to you, however. It just continued to stare. You were alarmed now.
You followed where it was looking and saw a large pile of trees, blocking your view.
“Go back and watch them for me.” You said to the bunny. It looked up and you quickly ran back to the rest.
You walked up slowly to the trees, worried about what was to come.
“Y/n! Be careful!” Airi yelled with fear.
You walked up to the tree and placed your hand near it.
“Move.” You whispered.
Within an instant, the tree moved to the side slowly, allowing you to see behind it.
Although, you wished you hadn’t done that.
Because right in front of you made your eyes widen with fear. In front of you were standing 50 wolves, salivating and snarling at you. But they weren’t just any wolves, they were Guizhong’s wolves.
You quickly turned, running as your life depended on it.
“RUN! THEY ARE BACK! GET OUT OF HERE!” You yelled out.
Kai’s eyes widened as he saw you running from a large group of wolves chasing you.
“Oh shit!” He said, picking up the kids and making a run for it.
You knew that the wolves would eventually catch up to you and the others, so you decided to stay back to try and fend them off.
“Y/n?! What are you doing?” Kai yelled after you
“Just get out of here! I’ll hold them back while you three get to safety!” You said
Kai looked at you with worry, unsure if you were going to make it out alive.
You turned back to see him still standing there with the kids.
“GO!” You yelled.
Kai quickly turned on his heel, making a run for it.
You saw him leave, making you relax a little bit knowing that they wouldn’t get hurt.
You turned your head back to the wolves, inhaling as you got ready to fight them.
You raised your hand, allowing a large tree root to sprout right through a few wolves.
You then grabbed your sword and sliced right through another, kicking one away simultaneously.
One of them pounced on you, catching you off guard. Then another one, and another one.
Soon, you were on the ground, trying to push them away from you.
One of their mouths was right in front of your face as you tried to push it away.
You looked at its mouth, growing angry once again.
“Get away!” You yelled, a large pile of sharp thorns going right through the wolf. You sat up and swiped your hand towards the right, causing a tree branch to whip a few other wolves away from you.
–
Kai ran and ran, fearing his and the others' lives. He felt horrible leaving you behind, but he knew he needed to save the kids.
He almost made it back to the town, but when he heard your scream, he stopped in his tracks. A memory came flooding back into his mind as he remembered the blood curdling scream his sister made when he was only 11. He wished he could go back and stop her from ever leaving their side…but he couldn’t.
He turned back towards the area you were in. He couldn’t let you die, not after all you and him have been through.
He sat the kids down under a large rock, protecting them from any danger.
“Kai?!” Asuka said with alarm.
“You kids stay here! I’ll be right back! I promise!” He said, running back to help you.
He couldn’t save his sister back then, but now he has another opportunity to save you. And that’s exactly what he was going to do, even if it killed him.
–
You struggled to get the wolves off of you, your strength quickly fading away as you tried to hold them back.
“Guizhong, stop! I know you can see what's going on! I know you can hear me!” You yelled, trying to punch one of the wolves.
“Damnit Guizhong! Why are you still doing this?! I haven’t even been near Morax, let alone near any of you! You don’t have to punish others just because of your weird obsession over him!” You yelled.
You weren’t aware of it, but right behind you was a group of wolves running after you, ready to attack and finish you off. They ran after you quickly, not wasting any time.
But just as they were about to reach you, a large sword came hurling towards them, slicing through all of them at once.
You turned around to see three wolves on the ground, slowly turning back into dust. They all had a large hole in them, making you furrow your brows in confusion. You looked back up to see Kai, standing there with pride.
“You came back?” You asked with shock
“I couldn’t just leave you behind!” He yelled, grabbing his sword and running towards you.
You looked at him with a worried look
“Don’t worry about me. I know how to fight.” He said, stabbing another wolf running at him.
You quickly whipped your head around to see two wolves leaping at you with open mouths.
You quickly stomped your foot on the ground, creating two large vines. They wrapped around the wolves and threw them across the field into a large tree. You pushed your hand forward with a fist, causing the vines to slice right through the two wolves.
You turned back to Kai and smirked.
“Then let’s fight.” You said, making him nod.
You two then went all out, protecting one another if needed.
–
“We can’t just leave them out there to die!” Airi complained
“But if we go out there, we could get hurt.” Asuka said with concern
“So what?! They are out there risking their lives for us, again!” She said, making the boy look down at his hands
“Those wolves hurt my mama and papa! I won’t let them hurt Y/n and Kai. I can’t lose anyone else!” She said, tears filling her eyes.
“But…we don’t know how to fight.” Asuka said, trying to change Airi’s mind.
Airi stared out in the open sky, knowing he was right. But she just couldn’t help it. She knew what she was setting herself up for. She knew it wasn’t going to be easy. But she would do anything to not lose you two. You and Kai meant everything to her.
“Well that’s it.” Airi continued, making the boy look up at her.
She stood to her feet and climbed over the rock to go back.
“Airi?! What are you doing?” Asuka yelled out
“I’m going to help our friends! I’m going to be a hero!” She said, running back to you and Kai.
“Airi!” Asuka complained
“Airi! Come back!” He tried again, but she just ignored him.
He then rolled his eyes, hopping over the rock as well.
“I can’t believe I’m doing this.” He said, running up to Airi, following her back to you guys.
–
“Kai! On your left!” You yelled.
Kai looked to his left to see a couple wolves running up to him. He took his sword and brought it down, slicing through one of their heads. He then brought it back up, cutting the other arm.
“Take this, you fucker!” He said, stabbing the sword right through the wolf’s chest.
Whimpers were heard all around.
“Just a few more!” Kai said.
“Don’t let that make your guard go down.” You said
But he was right. There were only 20 more to go.
You and Kai worked really well together, more than you thought you would.
You took your hand and raised it, causing three large and sharp tree trunks to rise out of the ground. Each one pierced right through three wolves. You then pushed your hand to the side, forcing the trees to swing the wolves to the right. The wolves flew off the trunks and into a large wall that you created out of wood.
The impact between them and the hardened wood caused them to turn to dust completely.
You and Kai were in the groove, getting the upper hand on all of the wolves.
You were both completely focused
That was until you heard a little girl’s voice.
“Airi?!” You asked with fear as you saw the little girl run up to you with determination.
“We are here to fight with you!’ She said
“We?!” Kai asked, seeing Asuka running in behind her.
“What the hell do you two think you’re doing!? Go back!” Kai yelled, not noticing the wolf ready to pounce on him
You did, however, and quickly took your sword and swung it around to hit its back, stabbing it right after.
“Kai, get them out of here now!” You yelled. He nodded and quickly ran for Asuka, carrying him on his back
“What were you thinking coming out here?!” He yelled, making the boy tuck behind Kai’s back.
“We will talk about this later. Where’s Airi?” Kai asked, looking around for the girl.
Meanwhile, you were still trying to fight off the wolves, making sure they didn’t get anywhere near the kids and Kai.
“That’s it!” You yelled.
You took your hand and raised it up, blocking the wolves from coming near you. Tree roots and vines sprouted from the ground, forming hard walls to pass. The wolves tried to gnaw at and climb the walls, but it was no use.
“Y/n, where is Airi?” Kai called out, making you stop to look around.
However, while you were looking around, you didn’t see that there was a wolf that got past your walls. It just barely escaped being trapped with the others.
It lurked its way towards you, quickening its pace the closer it got to you, its eyes turning a brighter red as it was ready to attack.
“Ms. Y/n! Watch out!” You heard Airi say.
You quickly turned around to see Airi a few yards away from you, blocking you from a wolf. Your eyes widened as everything slowed down.
“NO!” You yelled, dropping everything and sprinting towards her.
You heard your heartbeat quicken, your body going cold the closer you got to her.
“AIRI MOVE!” You heard Kai yell.
But she just stood there, determination on her face as she faced the monstrous creature running towards her. She watched as it opened its mouth, seeing the sharp teeth.
“You hurt mama and papa. I won’t let you hurt her as well.” She whispered.
She closed her eyes as she awaited the painful experience.
“I’m coming home, mama and papa. I’m coming home.” She said finally, a tear falling down her face as she felt the painful bite to her leg
“AIRI!” You cried out, tears blinding your vision.
Within the blink of an eye, you saw the wolf grab onto Airi. Its sharp teeth dug right into her leg as it lifted her up.
You heard Airi’s screams of pain, making your heart stop.
“NO!” You and Kai yelled.
You saw the wolf toss her away right into the wall you created. But the wolf threw her hard into the wall and all you could hear was the sound of something cracking.
“You bastard!” You yelled, grabbing the wolf with your hand.
You looked at it with furious eyes as you raised your hand, creating a large group of sharp trees, slicing each of them through the wolf.
You heard its cries and whimpers as you did so, watching it fall to the ground. Its red eyes slowly faded away as it turned into dust.
You took a steak and continued to stab it, letting all your anger out on it. Soon, you were stabbing nothing but the ground as more and more tears fell from your eyes.
You then turned to go find Airi, seeing her lying down on the ground limp.
Your breath hitched as you quickly ran towards her, grabbing onto her body.
“Airi?! Airi, sweetheart, can you hear me?!” You asked desperately as you held on to her lifeless body. Her eyes no longer held that shine they used to have. No, now they were just dull and completely lifeless.
You shook her, seeing that she wasn’t waking up.
“Airi, come on honey! Wake up, wake up please!” You begged, tears falling down your face.
The walls you created slowly started to come down due to your emotions, allowing the rest of the wolves to see you.
“Airi, please! Please! PLEASE!” You sobbed as you shook her body, hoping to see her eyes brighten up. You removed your hand from the back of her head, seeing blood on your palm. You looked down at her with tears, knowing that she was gone.
But you couldn’t just sit there and not try anything.
You looked back at your hand and then back at her body, coming up with an idea.
You placed your hand on her chest, pushing all your energy into that hand.
Soon, a green glow emitted from your hand and moved onto her chest.
A few seconds passed and you were already shaking. Your heart was beating way too fast. You felt your body start to go numb, including your mind. Your vision was starting to blacken as well, making it hard for you to see and focus.
You kept going, however, trying to do everything you could to heal her. To bring her back to life.
You wanted to see her smile at you. You wanted to see her eyes sparkle again like before. You just wanted to see her alive!
But it didn’t happen. You knew she was gone. You knew that she had just died right in your arms.
You screamed out, the power you were using on her weakening you way too much.
You knew you had to stop in order to protect the others, so you did.
Your breath hitched as you let her go, panting as you tried to regain your strength.
The feeling was too emotional. Someone you cared about so much passing away just like that, and at such a young age set something off in you. All you could see was red.
You knew the wolves were coming towards you and you knew you needed to stop them.
You couldn’t let them hurt anyone else. Not again.
You started to feel your energy building up inside of you again, feeling it wanting to burst out of your body.
You looked down at Airi, seeing her bloodied arm. The pain and anger were too much for you. You couldn’t handle it.
You failed. Failed to keep her safe. Failed to keep her alive! And it was all because of the stupid wolves! All because of…Guizhong.
And within seconds, you screamed out.
The energy in your body finally releases, causing the ground to shake violently at the burst you just made.
Hundreds of trees, thorns, vines, etc., flew out and stabbed through each and every wolf. Each of them whimpered and cried as they felt the plants run right through them as if they were made out of paper. They then were pinned down by the plants, getting squeezed to death. The wolves struggled to get out, wriggling around to try and escape. But you wouldn’t let them. You wouldn’t let them live after they just took the life of another.
The wolves howled and whimpered, knowing there was no escape for them. Soon, there was nothing left except for dust.
You cried as you held Airi’s body close to yours, letting everything go.
“I'm sorry. I'm so sorry…” You whimpered out.
Kai and Asuka ran towards you, seeing that Airi was truly gone.
“Airi?” Asuka whimpered out before crying.
Kai knelt down, completely at a loss for words. He placed his hand on her head, tears filling up in his eyes as he felt his heart drop.
He couldn’t believe he had lost yet another person close to him. Another person close to his brother. Another person who he deemed a family member.
He had failed once again to keep someone close to him safe. And that was something he would hold onto forever.
You looked at Kai and Asuka, seeing the despair in their faces. You took them and wrapped your arms around them, letting more tears and cries come out.
You three hugged each other, crying together as you realized Airi was no longer with you.
–
A few days had passed. You, Kai, and Asuka were currently at a funeral for Airi which was widely celebrated by everyone. Tears and quiet sobs were spread throughout the area as we all remembered what a great and sweet person she was.
Her grave rested right next to her mother and father, all three of them back together once again.
Tears flew out of your eyes as you quietly sobbed. She had made such an impact on your life just with the few weeks you spent with her. And now…she is gone forever.
Hundreds of stuffed bunnies, or bunny cards, or anything else bunny related were piled near her grave as others cried.
Kai stared down at the grave with pain and anger, wishing he was the one who died instead of her
She was only 9 years old. A life taken too soon. All because of Guizhong.
“I’m going to take that bitch down.” Kai said, making you look up at him. He looked down at you with red eyes from previous tears.
“I’m going to make her regret ever killing Airi.” He said, balling up his fists.
You looked down at his hands and grabbed onto one, making him look down at you
“I’m coming with you. She has ruined far too many lives. It’s time to stop her.” You said between sobs.
You two then hugged each other, bringing Asuka in as well as you three sobbed together.
All you knew was that Guizhong would be severely punished for this.
–a few days later–
After Airi’s funeral, you and Kai got ready to leave town. You were both fueled with rage as you two left. With no time to waste, you and Kai traveled back to where you first left. The place where all the Archons lived. It took a few days to get there as it was no short trip, but it was nothing to you both due to the determination you both held.
Before you was a large gate, beautifully and elegantly designed. Past archons who had died were built on the gates, showing our signs of gratitude for them. Only Archons were able to pass through. If a citizen wanted to come in, it would have to be allowed by another archon.
You walked up to the gate and placed your hand on the handle.
Suddenly, a golden light emitted from the gate.
A light rumble was created due to the gates opening.
You turned back to Kai and nodded
“Let’s go.”
You and him went in and within no time, you were already forcing others to tell you where Guizhong was.
You grabbed onto one of the older archons and kicked her down, making her gasp.
“Hey! What do you think you are-Y/n?”
“Yes, it's me. Now stop talking and tell me where Guizhong is!” You snapped at her, but she just stared at you with surprise, completely at a loss for words.
“Did you not hear me?” You asked, growing impatient.
“Y-You are alive?! I thought-”
“Shut up! Yes I am alive. Guizhong lied to everyone saying I was dead. Now you’re going to listen to me and I am only going to ask you once more!” You ordered, making her nod
“We are here for Guizhong. We know she is here, now tell me. Where is she?” You asked, glaring down at her.
“Why? What are you going to do?” She asked, making you twist her arm. She cried out in pain. You went down to her ear, talking just barely above a whisper.
“She hurt someone who was very near and dear to me. She hurt her right in front of me. We are here for our revenge. Now where. Is. She.” You said, twisting her arm more and more, her arm on the verge of breaking.
“Ah! She’s over at the Ancient colosseum! There is a ceremony for Morax’s birthday, so they are all celebrating there!” The archon said.
You quickly let go of her, walking away. You knew exactly where to go. You brought Kai with you, dragging him towards the large building.
It was an old building that was hard to miss. It stood about 3000 ft wide and 200 ft tall. It was used for celebrating important days such as birthdays, new archons…or even deaths.
As you both walked to the colosseum, a part of you was nervous to see Morax again. It had been so long since you had last seen him. You wondered if he even thought about you…or if he quickly moved on. But you knew thinking of that would distract you from your main goal, so you quickly wiped it away as you got closer and closer to the colosseum.
“Why is no one outside?” Kai asked, making you look around.
It was completely empty outside and very quiet. It was a bit eerie, but you knew exactly where everyone was
“Everyone else is inside the colosseum. It’s one thing to have a birthday for a lesser known archon, but when it comes to someone like Morax, an almighty and powerful archon, it is something entirely different.” You explained
“What do you mean?” He asked
“Well, a lesser known archon, such as myself, would receive a little party that only a few others come to. Nothing too much, just some cake and drinks and a few presents. But when it comes to someone like Morax, it's the talk of the city. Everyone has to come to show their admiration and thankfulness to him. They have tons of food and the finest of drinks. The party lasts for almost two days and everyone has to provide him with a gift…he always loved the gifts I gave him.” You said, feeling a small pang in your chest as you remembered the days when you and Morax would always hang out after his party. It would just be you and him, walking down a secluded pathway and enjoying each other's company.
Kai looked at you with a sorrowful expression. He knew this would be hard for you, especially after everything these people put you through. He placed a hand on your shoulder, making you look up at him. He smiled softly at you, making you return the look.
“Are you sure you’re ready for this?” He asked with concern
You nodded
“Yeah. Besides, we need to do this.” You said, making him nod.
You both then continued to walk to the colosseum, your nerves starting to hit you like a bus.
–
After a few more minutes, you and Kai finally made it to the building, seeing hundreds of others inside.
You turned to Kai, seeing him a little nervous as well.
“You ready?” You asked, seeing him nod.
“You don’t have to do this if you don’t want to.”
He sighed, looking towards you.
“I know. But I have to do it for Airi. She meant everything to my little brother and me. And now she's gone because of that so-called Archon. She deserves whatever is coming her way.” He said
You nodded towards him, holding onto his hand.
“Then let’s go raise hell.” You said, both of you running in
–
Morax was laughing as he got together with some of his old friends, enjoying their company. There was beautiful music playing in the background, and large sums of food displayed on a giant table.
Presents were stacked near the center to show Morax how much of an honor he is to everyone else.
Although, every now and then, he stopped and went to a secluded area to be with himself. That was only when he kept thinking of you. He remembered how excited you would get for his birthday, which he thought was adorable. He didn’t really care for these big celebrations. All he cared about was spending time with you, which he did every single year…until now.
This would be the first year ever where he didn’t get to see you or even speak to you.
He wrapped his arms around himself, missing your touch. Missing your scent. Missing your beautiful smile and laughter. No one could match up to you, not even Guizhong.
He knew she was trying to help him move on, but it wasn’t working. All he kept thinking about was you. Whenever he and Guizhong would go out, he just kept thinking about how you would’ve loved it. No matter what he did, you were always on his mind. And that is something he just couldn’t seem to get rid of.
He just wishes he could see you one more time. That’s it. He wanted to hug you tight, kiss you, feel you…but most of all, he wanted to apologize to you. He wanted to pour out everything to you to make you realize how sorry he was. He knew it would be hard for you to forgive him, but he would do everything he could to make you at least think about it.
However, he was snapped out of his imagination when he heard screaming and doors smashing open.
He quickly looked over to see where the commotion was coming from only to see something he thought he would never see again.
“Y/n…” he whispered, his breath hitching as he saw you. He was about to run towards you to hug you, only to stop in his tracks as he saw something that made his heart drop.
He saw you holding another person’s hand…another man’s hand.
He glared at the boy as he saw this, his heart shattering into pieces as he saw you hold him close. Was it possible that you had moved on? All this time while he was struggling to even stop thinking about you? You just acted like it was nothing?
Suddenly, another voice was heard from behind him.
“Welcome back, Y/n.” He heard Guizhong say, coming up from behind him.
“It’s a surprise to see you back.”

Twin!AU Part 3:
Hunith and Uther alike have to face the consequences of their actions, Merlin (and everyone, really) decides that family doesn’t end in blood.
Part 1 Part 2
TW: Suicidal ideation (mostly past, but it sort of... flairs up a little here I guess)
Hunith’s face falls and she physically recoils at Merlin’s harsh declaration.
His hard gaze doesn’t leave her, even as she glances at Arthur, a little behind Merlin and to his side. The blonde has his gaze fixed on Hunith, but he looks away the moment they make eye contact, unable to stand the confused pain in her expression:
“Merlin? What happened?”
Lancelot and Percival approach slowly after handing the horses off to a couple of stablehands, and Gwaine puts his hand on Merlin’s shoulder, not that The Warlock notices; he clenches his jaw tightly before speaking, but continues resisting the urge to look away:
“You lied to me. About everything.”
Hunith’s eyes go wide and she gulps, opening her mouth and shutting it again as she struggles to think of a response. It’s then that Merlin finally looks away, gazing over the top of her head at the empty courtyard. Arthur quietly intervenes, his authoritative voice full of warring emotions despite it’s low volume:
“We should take this somewhere more private.”
Merlin doesn’t even nod, just turns around and walks back towards the castle, hands clenched tightly at his side before he pushes the doors open and stalks in without looking back. Gwaine and Arthur share a concerned look before the older knight rushes after him. Arthur gestures for Hunith to go first, but not without stopping her with a hand on her shoulder, and a muttered, almost teary:
“You had no right.”
Her face falls even further, but The Regent steps back and looks away before she can reply, and she timidly hurries through the door after Merlin and Gwaine. Arthur gives Lancelot and Percival a pointed look:
“I imagine we’ll be in my chambers, make sure we are undisturbed. I don’t want anyone interrupting unless the world is about to end. Let Leon and Morgana know that they can take charge of any meetings today.”
They both nod, but Lancelot jogs up the steps to stop Arthur before he can leave:
“I... know what she did was wrong, but don’t let Merlin be too harsh. He’s always been close to his mother, he’ll regret it later if he pushes her away completely.”
Arthur almost snaps out something about how Hunith isn’t Merlin’s mother, but he keeps it to himself, sighing and nodding:
“Yeah, I know, but she... she needs to know what this has done to him, how much he’s suffered needlessly because of this. There isn’t... I know she probably just did what she thought was right but... she needs to know. Merlin deserves an apology, and he certainly deserves the truth.”
Lancelot nods hesitatingly, but doesn’t say anything else, stepping aside to allow The Regent through. He catches up to the others just as Merlin slams the door open to his chambers, continuing to not look back as he heads over to the large dining table, leaning his hand against the back of one of the chairs and staring towards the window.
Gwaine and Arthur approach slowly, standing either side of him but not touching him as they wait in suspense for someone to start the conversation. Hunith already has tears in her eyes as she stands on the other side of the table, trying and failing to get Merlin to look at her. The harsh glare he laid on her before was horrific, but this... him being unable to look at her at all, that is worse:
“Merlin, please, I only did what-”
She’s cut off by Merlin’s harsh instruction:
“Sit.”
She glances to Arthur once more, but he just nods wordlessly at the chair in front of her; the only sounds in the room are the scraping of the chair on the stone floor and Merlin’s laboured breathing. He was evidently trying very hard to hold his anger in, and when he says nothing more once she’s sat down, Gwaine puts his hand back on his shoulder. He shrugs it off, finally turning to face Hunith but remaining unable to look in her eyes:
“Why?”
A tears slips loose from her eye and she sniffles, taking a deep, shaky breath and fiddling with her hands on the table. Arthur absent-mindedly wonders if Merlin would still do that too if he’d been raised with his actual family, if it was natural, or if he’d picked it up from her:
“Please, Merlin, I’m so sorry, I didn’t-”
Merlin takes in a sharp breath, tightening his gip on the chair in a way that looks painful, shaking his head:
“No. No apologies, no excuses. I want to know exactly why you lied to me, why you took this from me.”
His voice is deadly in a quiet kind of way, like he could snap clean in two and set the world alight at any moment. Gwaine looks worriedly between the other two men, clearly thinking on the same lines as Lancelot, but neither of them notice, Merlin’s gaze stuck to the table and Arthur’s stuck on Hunith:
“I would have told you one day, Merlin, you-”
Merlin finally looks up at her, the blazing fury in his eyes contrasting in a rather horrific manner with the steady stream of tears on his cheeks:
“One day when? Arthur’s known about my magic for ages. I’ve been in Camelot for years, you have had every opportunity.”
Hunith lets out a low sob, but doesn’t look away:
“I didn’t think you were ready, Mer-”
Merlin bites his lip and turns away, running his hands through his hair harshly before turning around again, quick as lightening, and pointing an accusing finger at her:
“No, you weren’t ready! You weren’t ready to face the fact that you lied to me about who I am, because you knew you had no right, because you knew I would be angry!”
Hunith stands, but doesn’t make any moves to approach Merlin at Arthur’s harsh glare and Gwaine’s worried gesture. He doesn’t think Merlin or Arthur would hurt her, he’d never even consider the idea, but he knows that his partner needs space to be angry:
“I didn’t want you to be upset,-”
Merlin scoffs and lets out a sob of his own, wiping his face harshly before responding loudly:
“Gods, I wonder why I would be upset! Maybe because you lied to me about everything?!-”
Hunith shakes her head desperately, but Merlin carries on without pause:
“-You had no right to keep this from me! I grew up alone, with no one but you to rely on because you made me think I was some kind of beast! Keeping me from Camelot, I understand, keeping it from me as I child even, I understand. But you’ve had years of opportunity, you are selfish, a hypocrite and a coward.-”
Hunith looks horrified at his admission, mainly the sudden reveal at how her treatment of Merlin had effected him independently of the lie:
“-I hated myself, I was terrified, I didn’t want to exist, because of you! You made me think I was some kind of unnatural monster and then you sent me to Gaius under the guise of teaching me control, so he could carry on the lie for you! He promised me I wasn’t a monster, that I wasn’t born evil, over and over, but he’s lied to me from the moment I met him, how am I supposed to trust anything he says?! How am I supposed to trust anything you say when I was just some unwanted, throwaway thing that you never asked for, and got rid of at the earliest opportunity?!-”
Gwaine and Arthur stare at Merlin with matching heartbreak in their expressions; it seems that Merlin is upset at more than just the base lie. The New Prince doesn’t even try to stop the tears, his breathing quick and ragged, and after a few moments of thick silence, he takes a deep breath and quietly continues:
“-I didn’t have to be so alone, that was all you, and Gaius, and Kilgharrah, and everyone else who lied to me. When I had nothing, I had you, and you lied to me.-”
Merlin’s voice cracks, his breathing shaky and his face pale as his entire world seemingly crumbles down around him:
“-You took my brother from me and you had no right. You’re not my mother, you’re just as bad as Uther.”
With those last words, he storms from the room, Gwaine hot on his heels. Arthur stays however, feeling the need to comfort the crying woman, but also feeling, maybe slightly cruelly, that she deserves this. He sighs, pushing the though from his mind and moving around to put a hand on her shoulder as she buries her face in her hands, sobbing:
“I... you did your best, I think he knows that, but that doesn’t change what you took from him, from both of us. He needs time.”
She just about manages a nod, and Arthur sighs again, standing awkwardly for a few minutes before he realises she isn’t going to stop any time soon. He gently pushes her to sit back in the chair before heading to the door, following Gwaine and Merlin.
They’re not in the corridor when he shuts the door behind him, but he’s not surprised at that. Merlin has always been private about his true emotions, always kept them close to his chest, he wouldn’t want anyone to see him having a breakdown in the middle of the hall. Months ago, Arthur would have thought it was left over fear of his magic being discovered, but now he bitterly thinks that it probably has more to do with the way he was raised.
He runs a hand through his hair, sparing a glance to the—previously unnoticed—worried looking guards. Thankfully, they were two of the men that had been trusted with the truth (Arthur reminds himself to thank Leon later for paying attention to who was stationed where), so Arthur isn’t too worried at the fact that they had likely overheard the one-sided yelling match. He fixes them with a commanding stare and clears his throat:
“Escort the Lady Hunith to the physician’s chambers when she emerges, leave her with Gaius, but don’t rush her.-”
They bow briefly in acknowledgement of his orders, and his question comes out quietly:
“-Do you know where they went?”
They needn’t ask who, and one of the guards answers lowly, matching Arthur’s volume:
“I think they headed to Sir Gwaine’s chambers, Sire.”
He nods and mutters a quiet thank you, slowly heading in that direction, knowing he had to go see them but also wanting to give them few extra minutes of privacy. They still had a lot to take care of, they’d missed several council meetings over the last few days, and whilst Arthur trusts Leon and Morgana to keep things rolling, he really should be making regular appearances. That, and they still haven’t dealt with Uther; to be perfectly honest, Arthur is surprised that rumours haven’t started spreading about The King’s disappearance and Arthur’s sudden growth of responsibilities, but he’s grateful. Don’t look a gift Griffin in the mouth or... something.
He finally stops outside the knight’s room—nodding at Lance who wordlessly stands guard in the corridor—before flinching at the quiet crying he can hear from inside. He knocks a few times softly before entering, shutting the door behind him and approaching the bed. Gwaine sits leant against the headboard, tears in his eyes as he holds a shaking Merlin in his arms. The Warlock lays besides Gwaine, in the middle of the bed, his face buried in the knight’s chest and his hands twisted into the fabric of his tunic.
Arthur lets out a deep, mournful breath at the sight of his brother so distraught, and he moves around to the other side of the bed, raising his eyebrow in question at Gwaine and settling next to Merlin at his singular nod. Merlin doesn’t seem to notice his presence, not until Arthur settles a hand on his back and whispers his name. He instantly calms a little, and Gwaine mentally scolds himself for the slight flair of jealousy; Merlin had discovered he has a brother, that his best friend is his brother, it’s no surprise that he calms easier in his presence, especially considering the reveal unburied so much hidden trauma.
After a few more minutes, Merlin turns to be laying on his back, though he makes sure to stay in Gwaine’s embrace. The knight leans down to press a kiss to the top of his head, and though he can’t see it, he can almost feel the slight smile on The Warlock’s face. Arthur moves his hand back to his lap, looking at the two of them out of the corner of his eye; he sees nothing but worry and utter adoration on Gwaine’s face, and he wonders just how he hadn’t approved of their relationship. Gwaine’s whispered words just solidify Arthur’s newfound belief in the man:
“I love you, Merls, no matter what.”
Merlin lets out a quiet, choked laugh, and Gwaine considers that a win, even more so when Merlin responds in kind:
“I love you.”
Despite their relationship not being a particularly new thing, Arthur hadn’t even considered the possibility that they’d reached that far, that their partnership was that solid; perhaps that had something to do with their general lack of PDA, which he had always wondered how Gwaine had put up with. He grimaces with a quiet realisation, but it catches Merlin’s gaze and he raises a questioning eyebrow, his tears thankfully dried. Arthur glances up at Gwaine, who smirks at him knowingly, before looking back down to his brother:
“Making you Crown Prince is something I’m actually quite looking forward to, but I’m going to have to crown Gwaine as well.”
Gwaine snorts in amusement but Merlin turns pink and coughs slightly:
“Well.. we haven’t really discussed marriage, Arthur.”
Arthur looks to him with an apologetic expression:
“Merlin, royals have different courting rules. Royal partnerships tend to be incredibly short before a marriage has to happen. Back when me and Gwen were courting, we hid not only because Uther wouldn’t have approved, but also because we didn’t want to rush things. I’m especially glad we did now, otherwise we would have had to be married by now. The whole kingdom know that you two have been together for at least a year, the moment you’re crowned...”
His voice trails off as he comes to a second, horrifying realisation. He stands from the bed and stares at Gwaine with wide eyes and a pale face:
“Oh my God. Oh my God. If neither me, you, or Morgana have children... once you two have been married... Gwaine will officially be third in line for the throne. Oh... fuck.”
Merlin and Gwaine freeze for just a moment before they burst into loud laughter, and Arthur shakes his head, pacing slightly and not paying attention to the knocking at the door. Lancelot walks in slowly, an amused smile of his face despite his confusion:
“Do I even want to ask?”
Arthur fixes him with an almost distraught gaze before glaring half-heartedly at Merlin:
“Why? Why couldn’t it have been Leon, or Lancelot?? Elyan or Percival?? Hell, I would have been happier with fucking George.”
Gwaine’s laughter gets even louder but Merlin calmly wipes the tears (of laughter, thankfully) from his face and looks to Lancelot with bitten lips and held in hysterics:
“Arthur just realised that once all the crowning ceremonies happen, Gwaine will be third in line for the throne, if I’m the last one to die and there aren’t any children.”
Lance’s eyes go wide and he clamps a hand over his moth in a poor attempt to hold in his laughter. He fails miserably, bursting just like Gwaine and Merlin had moments earlier. Arthur fixes an annoyed glare on him and waves a desperate hand:
“This is not funny.”
Gwaine just shakes his head as he finally manages to calm himself, wiping his face clean and sitting up straight, one hand still on Merlin’s shoulder:
“It’s hilarious, Princess. God imagine Geoffrey’s face. Imagine the council.”
Arthur just takes a deep breath and looks to the ceiling again:
“Fuck. Ok, alright, whatever. That is a problem for another time.-”
He looks back down to Merlin with an apologetic smile, after shooting one last withering glare at a still-smirking Gwaine:
“-You feeling up to council? I’ve missed a fair few, and I think it might be a good idea for you two to start making appearances as well. That and... as much as we’ve told them you have magic, it might be worth showing it off a little.-”
At Merlin’s wide, fearful eyes, Arthur holds his hands out placatingly and hurries to continue:
“-You don’t have to, but they're working on the ban repeal. Obviously not anything huge, but passing jugs or paper or whatever with magic might help desensitise them to the idea. Plus, now that you’re semi-officially royalty, and you have Gwaine or Leon trailing you almost everywhere, no one would dare attack you. And if they do, you have every right to defend yourself in whatever capacity you deem necessary.”
At Merlin’s still nervous face, Lancelot quickly tacks on:
“And they all know that Arthur would go ape-shit if anything were to happen to you.”
Arthur gestures at the knight and nods in agreement, nodding further at Gwaine’s quiet “He’s not the only one.” . Merlin takes a deep breath and shuffles off the bed, standing and straightening his clothes out with unsteady hands:
“Let’s go. You’re right, I’m going to have to get used to stupid council meetings at some point if you’re insisting on crowning me, might as well be now.”
Arthur and Lancelot smile proudly and Gwaine moves to stand at his side, straightening his own clothes before running his hands through Merlin’s hair, flattening and neatening it. Merlin stands still and lets himself be assessed and fixed with a soft smile on his face, and Arthur feels almost as if he were intruding on something personal and domestic, even more so than when they were professing their love for each other; he looks away awkwardly and Lancelot raises an amused eyebrow at him.
The four of them finally exit the room, Arthur and Merlin falling into step besides each other, Gwaine slightly behind them, and Lancelot trailing the three of them with his face pulled into a blank mask and his hand on his sword.
This time, there is no hesitation before they enter the council room, and no raised eyebrows when Merlin takes his rightful place alongside Arthur at the head of the table. Flanked by Morgana, Leon, Lancelot, and Gwaine, Arthur effortlessly takes control of the meeting, hurrying things along with a proud confidence and an easy authority that was slowly but surely being taken on by his brother, at his side.
~
The council session lasts for the remainder of the day, and though at least half of the councilmen yelp, Gaius obviously not included, when Merlin first starts floating things about or magically highlighting words or moving the room’s lighting around with a flick of his wrist, most of them are used to it by the time the sun touches the horizon.
Arthur finally calls an end to the meeting when it gets dark. Though he was in a slightly manic mood and desperate to get as much work done as possible now that he was actually free to attend meetings, he could see that the others, Merlin especially, were flagging. He knew it would happen eventually, he can’t imagine The Warlock has been sleeping much, and he definitely came to some sort of private, horrifying conclusion around half a candle-mark ago. The hitch in Merlin’s breath, the widening of his eyes, and the slight, tiny flair of every candle in the room thankfully went unnoticed by everyone bar Arthur, Gwaine, and Lancelot.
When the room empties of councilmen, Merlin stands and paces away from the table, hands fiddling roughly with his sleeves. Arthur waves Morgana and Leon away, thanking them briefly before nodding pointedly at the door. Lancelot follows shortly, and Arthur has half a mind to send Gwaine away as well, but he knows that would be somewhat selfish as the other man approaches his partner’s turned back:
“Merlin? Something wrong? I thought that went remarkably well.”
Merlin’s head turns quickly, his furrowed brows confused:
“What? What went well?”
Gwaine raises an eyebrow, glancing briefly at the neatly stacked paperwork on the table:
“The meeting? About planning your coronation and the legalisation of magic? That we’ve been in all afternoon?”
Merlin untenses slightly, turning around properly and using one hand to rub at his eyes tiredly:
“Oh, yeah right. It did go well. They didn’t freak out too much at my evil sorcery, did they?”
He tries to go for a joking smirk, but it falls flat, and Arthur walks towards him to put a hand on his brother’s shoulder:
“What’s on your mind?”
Merlin sags even more and Arthur quickly steps forward, gathering the suddenly distraught man in a tight hug. Merlin easily accepts, burying his face in Arthur’s neck and clutching the back of his tunic with shaking hands:
“I compared my mother to Uther. I told her it was her fault that I didn’t want to be alive. She’s never going to forgive me.”
Arthur shuts his eyes, stroking a hand through Merlin’s hair and muttering a quiet:
“Oh, Merlin, she loves you more than anything in this world, there’s nothing to forgive.”
Merlin doesn’t look up, but shakes his head roughly; before he can argue, Gwaine steps around the two of them, pressing a kiss to the nape of Merlin’s neck before stepping back and stroking a soft hand over his back:
“What she did was wrong, Merls, you’re allowed to be angry. And now you’re not so angry anymore you can go sit down with her and talk it out, ok? There was no way that first conversation was going to be anything other than difficult and heartbreaking, but you got through it, and now you can sort it out properly.”
Merlin relaxes just a touch, and Arthur gets the disturbing feeling swelling in his gut that Gwaine knew of Merlin’s (hopefully, former) despairs before the whole... twin thing. When The Warlock finally pulls away, he thankfully looks a little more confident, despite the drying tears on his cheeks; Arthur gives him a soft smile and nods towards the door:
“Tonight, or tomorrow?”
Merlin takes a deep, fortifying breath, and walks towards the door purposefully, wiping his face clean before taking Gwaine’s offered hand in his own:
“Tonight, now. I should... I need to talk to Gaius as well. I’ve been unfairly punishing him for long enough, I think.”
Gwaine smiles understandingly, though Arthur, who rushes to catch up and walk on Merlin’s other side, shakes his head with a frown:
“Not unfairly, Merlin. It would be well within your rights to cut them out of your life for the foreseeable future for this. But I also understand wanting to forgive them so you have more... support. They may not be blood, Merlin, but... they are family, and that’s ok.”
Gwaine gives him an annoyed look at his first words, over Merlin’s shoulder, but doesn’t say anything. Merlin stops in the middle of the hallway, suddenly and without warning, and Gwaine grunts slightly when his arm is pulled back. The Warlock spares him an apologetic smile before turning his gaze to Arthur. Arthur raises an eyebrow, but Merlin tilts his head and frowns:
“Arthur you do know that... I consider you family above all others, right? you’re right, family doesn’t have to be blood,-”
He squeezes Gwaine’s hand, almost subconsciously, and receives a gentle squeeze back:
“-but after what we’ve found out, after all of this, all that we’re doing to... fix it, to fix what was done to us... you’re everything, you’re my brother. Me forgiving Hu... my mother, and Gaius, doesn’t change that I trust you above them, I consider you before them. They’re family, but you’re family first.”
Arthur’s eyes widen slightly at Merlin’s stern assertion, but he wills the tears in his eyes to disappear as he nods once, his jaw clenched with emotion. Merlin smirks slightly and rolls his eyes, muttering something about an “emotionally repressed idiot” before pulling him into an eagerly returned hug. Gwaine just snorts at both of them, happily leaning against the wall with crossed arms as he waits. They pull away fairly quickly, hyper aware of the fact that they were in the middle of the corridor, and whilst basically the whole citadel had picked up on the fact that something had changed, is changing, they didn’t want to let on too much until official public announcements were made.
They hurry in their journey to the Physician’s chambers, it was getting late and they wanted to sort this out as soon as possible; Gods know Merlin isn’t going to sleep a wink until he's spoken to his mother again.
They pause momentarily outside the door, taking deep breaths as they attempt to block out the hushed conversations coming from inside, not wanting to eavesdrop. Merlin turns to Gwaine with a nervous frown:
“Would you mind... waiting out here? Just for a minute?”
Gwaine gives him a soft smile and nods, pressing a kiss to his forehead and muttering “Call for me when you want me to come in, alright? I’m not going anywhere.” before giving Arthur an encouraging clap on the shoulder and stepping back to lean against the opposite wall.
Arthur sends a grateful smile the knight’s way, receiving a respectful nod in return, before he turns to the door. After a nod from Merlin, he raises a hand that shakes only slightly, and knocks. The murmured conversations stop immediately, and Gaius’ voice calls out:
“Enter.”
With one last look to each other, the brothers open the door and walk in together, shutting it gently behind them and turning to face the shocked pair. Hunith stares at Merlin with tears in her hopeful eyes, but Gaius quickly clears his throat and stands straight:
“How can I help, My Lords?”
Arthur sighs and Merlin shakes his head at the Physician’s formal address of them, rubbing a tired hand over his eyes before taking a small step forward :
“Don’t... I’m not... just Merlin, please.-”
His voice is quiet and tired, and the pleading tone it takes on deepens Arthur’s frown. He lets out a shaky breath, biting his lip before looking up to Hunith and continuing:
“-I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have yelled. And I didn’t have any right to say those things; you’re... you’re nothing like Uther, and you did your best in a terrifying situation. You didn’t know any better, I shouldn’t blame you for how I turned out.”
Hunith’s tears overflow once again, and she takes in a shuddering breath as she steps hesitatingly towards the Warlock:
“Oh, my boy, you were right. I wasn’t ready to lose you, and I let that fear overcloud my judgement of what I knew to be right. I’m so sorry sweetheart, I should have told you who you were a long time ago, and it wasn’t fair of me to expect Gaius to carry on the lie, especially when you met Arthur, and especially when he found out about your magic.”
With that, Merlin pulls her into a tight hug, height difference be damned as he buries his face in her neck and shakes. Arthur gulps as he looks upon the scene, sharing a small, mournful smile with Gaius, the Physician understanding The Regent’s forgiveness in the small nod of his head. The hug doesn’t last quite as long as Arthur was expecting, though he supposes that forgiveness is more than just saying it aloud, and Merlin still has a great deal of self-worth related issues to get over, thanks to Hunith’s overly cautious raising of the boy. The Warlock clears his throat, his hands still on his mother’s shoulders as he gives her a weak smile:
“Igraine says thank you, by the way, for raising me with so much love.”
Hunith lets out a small chuckle, wiping away Merlin’s tears with soft hands:
“It was my honour, I’m glad that your... mother, is pleased.”
Merlin’s frown is brief, and he responds quickly:
“You’re my mother.”
Hunith’s smile grows, as does Merlin’s and she nods shakily, almost whispering:
“Ok... I... ok.”
Merlin lets go hesitatingly, but turns to Gaius after a moment or two. The Physician quickly interrupts anything the younger man could have said with a shake of his head and a soft smile, pulling him into a hug as he softly speaks:
“It’s alright, my boy. You were well within your rights to be angry, we had no right to lie to you in such a way.”
With Gaius and Merlin’s soft conversation happening to the side of the room, Hunith turns to Arthur with a hopeful smile on her face. He returns it faintly, and she pulls him into his own hug. He stiffens in her hold, wide eyes darting around the room as he clenches his hands at his side. It only takes her stroking a hand through his knotted hair for him to relax and hug her back:
“I’m honoured to have been able to raise your brother, Arthur, and I am sorry for keeping him from you for so long, it was selfish of me. I didn’t consider what you were losing, in not knowing that you weren’t alone, only what I would lose should I tell the truth.”
Arthur gulps and nods, but tightens his hold on her as the tears come to his eyes:
“It’s... ok. I understand, I think. The danger you put yourself in to raise and protect him was immense, I just wished I’d known sooner, so I could have done all of this sooner.”
They pull back, but Hunith keeps a tight hold on Arthur’s shoulders, an assessing frown on her face as she raises a hand to cup his cheek. Arthur leans into it, blushing slightly under her motherly gaze:
“I know. But you’re doing wonderfully, Arthur. You and Merlin will be the saviours of this Kingdom, I’m sure of it. Your mother would be so proud of you.”
A tear slips loose from Arthur’s eye as he harshly bites his lip. His voice comes out small and unsure, and Hunith has to resist the urge to pull him into another hug:
“You think?”
She just smiles and nods instead:
“I’m sure.”
Merlin and Gaius look upon the scene fondly, and Arthur’s blush deepens when he catches them staring. He steps back from Hunith who smirks at him knowingly as he frowns at Merlin:
“Shut up, Merlin.”
He just laughs and shakes his head:
“I always knew you had a soft spot for my mum.”
The Regent shakes his head and rolls his eyes, ignoring Merlin’s continued laughter:
“Either of you eaten? I’m starved.”
Gaius and Hunith’s smiles come a lot easier at that, and they shake their heads. Arthur leads the way out of the chambers, smiling and nodding at Gwaine’s raised eyebrow. The knight returns the smile, quickly sidling up to Merlin and re-taking his hand as Arthur speaks:
“I’ll let the kitchens know to have five meals sent up to my chambers, I’ll see you there in a moment.”
They part ways in the corridor, all of them with easy smiles and lighter hearts, especially when Gwaine eagerly regales his interpretation of Arthur’s reaction to having to crown him.
~
The next morning was once again tense. Arthur’s assertion late last night that he intended to finally deal with Uther weighs heavy in everyone’s minds.
Hunith and Gaius are once again tucked safely into the Physician’s chambers, and all of the King’s most trusted knights are called to stand guard in the corridor. Merlin and Arthur wear their smart clothes (a suggestion by Morgana that Gwaine thought was funny enough that he begged and begged until Merlin gave in), and they take in with them Leon and Morgana.
Uther looks manic, his hair unkept, his face unshaven. His clothes are clean at least, but they’re rumpled, likely due to the near constant pacing of the former King. The room is dark, the curtains obviously haven’t been opened in several days, but the dim candles highlight the mess throughout the room. Uther may still be being passed meals by the guards, but out of concern for the staff’s safety, no servants were granted access to tidy or otherwise serve.
His head whips around when the door opens, his enraged face turning red at the four people stood smartly by his door. He storms towards them, but Morgana, no longer scared of the consequences, holds a hand out and mutters a few golden words, halting him in his tracks. He apparently hasn’t lost his voice though, as he turns to Merlin:
“WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY DAUGHTER?! YOU-”
Merlin rolls his eyes and clicks his fingers, his eyes also turning golden as Uther’s mouth shuts with a clack. Leon manages to hold his smirk in, just stands still as the perfect guard, his hand on the hilt of his sword, but Morgana doesn’t even try, smiling openly. Merlin holds Uther’s furious gaze for a few more moments before looking to Arthur at his side, tilting his head in question. The Regent nods at him before stepping forward, his back straight and his face and voice Kingly:
“You will listen, and you will listen well, because I will not repeat myself. You are the only abomination in this room, and you will live with that for the rest of your days. How long that is, is up to you. I am Regent, soon enough I will be King, Myrddin will be Crown Prince, and Morgana will be Princess; when that happens, magic will finally be fully legalised, and the public will be made aware of your crimes. I will not hide things from my people, not like you have. No matter what you deserve, I struggle to bring myself to sentence you to execution, and you’ll be humiliated to learn, I imagine, that Merlin argued in favour of letting you keep your head when I brought it up.-”
Uther glances angrily at Merlin, but looks back to Arthur when he realises that he’s still incapable of speaking:
“-Therefor your options are as follows: You may go to the summer home on the coast, where you will be under constant guard, but will otherwise have a semi-free life. You will stay in Camelot, but live out the remainder of your days in this room only. Or me and Merlin will take a week long trip away to, say, Nemeth, whilst Princess Morgana and Sir Leon announce, organise, and undergo your execution. You have today to decide, we’ll be back this evening.”
Arthur doesn’t bother waiting for a reaction, turning his back on Uther and gesturing the others to lead the way through the door. He pauses momentarily, one hand on the door frame as he turns back, a mournful frown on his face as he quietly speaks:
“If you had just told the truth, if you had just owned up to making a mistake, you, me, Myrddin, Morgana, we... we could have been a family. You’re the one that ruined that, you’re the one that tore us apart, and I swear to you now, that whatever option you pick, I will never forgive you.”
That only seems to enrage Uther more, but Arthur isn’t quite sure why he bothered to hope for another reaction. He shuts the door behind him, waving at Merlin to reset the magical locks as he sighs and rubs tired hands over his face:
“Well at least that’s over and done with.”
Leon pats him on the shoulder consolingly, and Elyan raises an eyebrow, glancing around at the others and sighing when he realises no one else is going to ask:
“He didn’t take it well then, I’m guessing?”
Arthur takes a deep breath and stands straight, shaking his head. Morgana is the one to answer however, and Arthur appreciates the way she makes a genuine attempt to keep the humour out of her voice:
“No, he wasn’t best pleased, but I think he’s accepted that he has well and truly lost this battle. Something he’s not entirely used to, I suppose.”
The knights nod in understanding, and Merlin lets out a deep breath, tilting his head slightly:
“Weird to think that he’s my... dad... ugh.”
They all chuckle at that, even Arthur, though they all stop with concerned frowns when Merlin suddenly straightens up with wide eyes and an open mouth:
“Oh... my God... how did I...- What?!”
Arthur puts a hand on his shoulder, his frown deepening:
“Merls?”
The Warlock just ignores him, turning to Morgana with still wide eyes:
“You’re my sister! I’ve been focusing so much on how Arthur’s my brother that I didn’t even consider the fact that you’re my sister!”
Morgana takes in a sudden breath, and all bar Leon (who just raises an eyebrow and then rolls his eyes when he realises that he’s the only one unsurprised by this) stare at the two of them in shock. Morgana slowly pulls Merlin into a hug, and the two of them clutch each other tightly as a grin grows on Arthur’s face. Leon gives him another clap on the back, this one more congratulatory (if a little confused. Honestly, how did they miss that?), and the others cheer just as Gwen turns the corner into the corridor. She smiles confusedly at Merlin and Morgana, still hugging, as she sidles up to Leon, whispering:
“What’s the occasion? They find Uther dead?”
Leon laughs but shakes his head, leaning down to mutter his response:
“They only just now figured out that they’re siblings.”
She looks up to him quickly with a disbelieving raise of the eyebrows:
“Wait, just now as in, just now?-”
Leon smirks and nods firmly, and Gwen shakes her head as she laughs:
“-It’s been almost a week.”
Leon laughs as well leaning against the wall as the others chatter excitedly among themselves:
“Yeah, apparently you and I are the only ones who had considered the idea. These are all the smartest people I’ve ever come across...”
He trails off, but Gwen looks up at him with a teasing smirk:
“And yet sometimes...?”
They both laugh quietly, shaking their heads when Percival catches their eyes and tilts his head in question.
The group walks away soon enough, heading to one of the smaller dining rooms for an early lunch and a chance to discuss their intentions for this afternoon’s council meeting. Morgana, Merlin, and Arthur walk together, and conversation flows between all bar Gwaine, who stares at the back of his now betrothed’s head with the quiet adoration and lowly simmering excitement of someone that knew the man he loves is finally getting all that he deserves.

It was as if your anchestors wanted to deliver a warning, for Asgard had never faced a storm matching this fateful afternoon.
The thunder swallowed all of your screams and cries, every curse you spoke with each contraction as the baby made it’s way into this world. All this time, your precious husband would never leave your side, letting you squeeze his hand as much as you needed.
“Only a little bit more, my Lady!” the midwife shoutet from between your legs, her tone calm yet cheerful. “I can already see the head!”
“I’m right here. You’re doing wonderful, my petal.” Loki was softly petting your hair, pressing a wet kiss into your forehead. “You are incredibly strong, Y/N. And I love you so much!”
Remaining collected was using up all of his energy at that very moment, you knew that much. Yet not even the God of Lies could hide all the helplessness and excitement stirring in his head at that very moment.
Being with the Prince of Asgard was just like in a dream.
Once you get to know him, that troublesome arrogant lone wolf turned into a smart, caring - and especially charming - prince. And hel, Loki treated you like a Queen.
All this pain you were experiencing right now would ultimately lead to the greatest bliss imagineable - just like it was with Loki.
Oh, how dearly you had fought, suffered, yearned for him, only to be rewarded with heartbreak and frustration. In between his feverishly chase for the throne and his rivalry with Thor, there was just no room for a loving relationship to grow.
The crushing weight of thinking himself unworthy for affection had made him cold and bitter over the millenias, telling himself the comforting lie that he was above all, born for a glorious purpose.
For the God of Mischief, whose kinsmen had always made him feel out of place or under-appreciated, the process of trusting had always been one step forward, three steps back.
But through your compassion, and with a great deal of patience and understanding, you slowly but steadily melted the ice around the prince’s heart.
Because deep inside, you always knew that it was worth it.
And today would be the peak of your romance: Your child would forever remind the Odinson that he belonged somewhere - right here, with you.
“It’s a boy!”
“A heir?!” Loki exclaimed, smothering your face in kisses. “Well done!”
You smiled weakly at his excitement, in between choked sobs. All that your exhausted self was able to process was the fact that your child is born - and you already loved him beyond reason.
“Where is he?!” you whimpered, unable to realize how the air in the room had shifted - for when the midwife touched the infant, she began to scream in agony.
“What’s wrong?!” Loki’s eyes were narrowing at the midwife that almost dropped his newborn, detecting some sort of burn wound on her palm. Quickly, she had covered the boy in a towel, aware that if any harm came over that baby, she was to die at the God of Mischief’s hands.
A flash of lightning was brightening the whole room, which had only been flooded by dim candle light until now.
Another one of the midwife’s screeched in terror, almost stumbling as she frantically erscaped your bedchamber. The adrenaline from birth and worry about your child sharpened your senses, yet concentration was almost impossible.
Still, the words she was yelling as she ran down the hall send a shiver down your spine:
“It’s a monster.”
Your head was spinning as you rushed into an upright position, with two nurses pressing you onto the bed again. “Milady, you need to rest! It’s still too early!”
“What is wrong with my child?!?” you desperately screamed, kicking with your legs to free yourself from their hold. “Give it to me!”
Their expressions were too much to bear. Your head was spinning, seeing pity mixing up with disgust and anger in their eyes.
“Enough!” Loki finally broke his own silence, his mind having been occupied with all the horror scenarios one could think about.
Walking up to the midwife carrying the infant, he demanded seeing it. “Your highness, don’t-” yet the midwife’s beg was for naught.
Yes, everything will be alright. Loki will take care of it, like he always does. After all, he’s your savior, your hero, the love of your life...
Gently and insecure, your husband cradled the newborn in his arms - a sight to behold. And the baby’s strong cries assured you that it was at least alive.
However, as soon as he dared to unwrap the towel, revealing it’s face, Loki’s heartbeat completely stopped for a second. His trembling lip began to shake, mouth widely agape as he took in the child’s form.
For a brief moment, his mind was completely blank. All emotion dropped from his face before taking in a complete different demeanour.
“Wha-” you wouldn’t dare ending that sentence when your husband’s furious eyes met yours.
The air was so thick, you thought not even Thor’s hammer could break it. Clearly ritten on Loki’s usual unreadable face were so many emotions at once:
Aversion, fury, incredible sorrow...all directed towards you? The child?
Impossible.
Loki Odinson loved you more than anything in this world, this was the only thing you had always been sure he wasn’t lying about.
“From all the people I expected to betray me...” His voice was hoarse, as if the ache in his heart was wrapping around his throat. “Why did it have to be you?”
You could feel the horrendous aura, a wave of sadness and despair coming from your husband. Seeing him like this was like torture.
“What- what do you mean, darling-”
“Don’t fucking call me that, you harlot!” That was surely not the first time your lover had raised your voice against you - he could be a bit difficult at times, obviously.
But this time was different somehow. It sounded so...ultimate.
And the Loki you knew would never use such harsh words against you!
“Please, I beg of you...just let me see my baby!” Everything was just too much for you, almost to the point of passing out.
And the man did as you pleaded, almost shoving the child into your arms. “There, have your bastard! And make sure to never show your filthy faces to me ever again!”
With that, he stormed out of the room, leaving you with those strange nurses looking at you like you’ve just commited an unforgiveable crime.
There was no use in overthinking this. He’ll come back like he always did. You can work this out, whatever it is - even if you are gonna be mad for a very long time, making such a fuss and then disappearing instead of taking care of you, the mother of his child.
Out of a whim, you decided to finally observe the little being you’ve been waiting for all those months.
A loud gasp escaped your mouth as you realized just why everyone was so worked up about that little boy. Yet the sound you made was solely surprised - not a hint of fear or rejection laced your voice.
It was a beautiful baby boy, little fists balled to the air as if he was searching for the warmth of his parents - though his skin was in the shade of a dark blue. When you dared running your hand over the deep lines and ridges on his body, the stinging pain of frostbite immediately stung your fingertips. His eyes snapped open, looking at you with black irises through red scleras.
You knew the meaning of this, even though you didn’t understand how this was possible: This child was a biological Frost Giant. A small one, but nonetheless.
A curse? Was someone trying to play your family dirty? No. If that was the case, the child wouldn’t also have actual powers together with the appearance.
Just how long have those tears been running down your cheeks in thick streams already? You wouldn’t know.
Only one thing came as clear as daylight to you: You loved this baby, more than anything in this world. And no matter the hardships that came along with it - you would protect him, no matter what!
“He’s magnificent...” you sniffled, pecking some quick kisses onto his small body before the cold could hurt you. “I love you so, so much...!”
Not minding the judging looks of the nurses, let alone wondering about the consequences, resolve was starting to give you new strenght.
The boy got a grasp on your finger, and instead of your skin freezing off as expected, your magic allowed him to the boy to finally disguise itself as one of you. How was this even possible? Well, this is probably the first time something like this ever happened, so no one could prepare you for what to expect with this child.
They all say that birth was an impactful event - but nothing could’ve prepared you for everything that you had to endure on this day.
Yet nothing could’ve stopped you from believing that this child was the greatest blessing that ever came over you.
Now you only had to convince your husband of that very fact...
“Y/N Y/L/N!” the guard wouldn’t even bother adressing you with your full title as his harsh voice woke you up. When had you drifted away into slumber anyway? You were probably way more worn out than you wanted to admit...
Your eyes immediately snapped open, heart skipping a beat until you saw that your son was still sleeping soundly right next to you. Stroking his cheek as he smiled up to you, it almost made you forget about that burdensome situation.
“Hey!” Protectingly, you were holding onto your child for dear life as the guard approached both of you. “I have an important message to deliver!”
You scowled, almost like an animal mother protecting their offsprings with baring teeth, even though you knew in that state you would be completely and utterly helpless. “Why now? What could be more important than the well-being of my child?”
The answer let your blood run cold:
“I am here to announce that Lady Y/N Y/L/N has to face a trial in front of the Allfather. The following crimes she is being accused of: Infidelity, collaboration with the enemy and trying to sneak one of them into our glorious kingdom.”

MC wants to leave
Request from @imamonster456
Summary: After the brothers found out MC was Lilith’s descendant, MC slowly started feeling more like a replacement instead of just being themselves. Loneliness started to consume them, and one day they finally decide to just leave, without consulting any of the brothers before.
Warnings: Angst, cursing
Characters: 7 brothers, GN!MC
THIS WAS GOING TO BE PURELY SHORT HEADCANONS BUT I GOT CARRIED AWAY IM SO SORRY I HOPE YOU STILL LIKE IT

Lucifer
It never crossed his mind that he could be causing you so much pain. In fact, it was the last thing he wanted to do. He hated seeing you hurting for whatever reason, but this time… he couldn’t even notice how much pain and discomfort he was causing you.
A tiny voice at the back of his head started yelling at him in an attempt to make him notice; but it didn’t happen
Not until one night he walked up to your room after you didn’t show up to dinner for the fourth time in that week and he saw you packing up your belongings
Almost scared to ask, he spoke up in an almost broken voice “MC, what’s going on?”
You didn’t answer, and he was taken aback at this. He hesitantly walked up to your figure and tried to reach out to you, freezing when he heard your voice telling him to stop.
“Just stop, Lucifer. Please.”
You sobbed, and he simply stood in his place, looking at you without understanding a single thing
“Did someone hurt you? Did any of my bro-…”
“Cut of the bullshit”
Silence filled the room as you turned around to face him, your reddened eyes staring directly into his
“I will not tolerate being a replacement for Lilith. Lilith this, Lilith that… what about me? Ever since you guys found out I was her descendant you haven’t done anything but treat me as if I was her!”
“MC…”
He wasn’t really sure wether to be angry at you for rising your tone against him, or to be ashamed for being called out on his behaviour
“You were my happy place, Lucifer. I was so happy with you and your brothers… I finally felt like I belonged somewhere, and you do this?”
Silence filled the room, and it was only broken by the sound of your suitcase closing.
Mammon
He was so excited to go to your room to show you how much he had won while gambling, but his plans were shattered the moment he saw Lucifer there too.
And when he noticed you had packed all your belongings? He gulped audibly as confusion took over his body
“O-oi, what’s going on here? Where are ya goin’, human?”
“Please move, Mammon”
“MC?”
He locked his eyes with yours, trying to understand the situation. However, in his mind, there was no reason for you to want to leave them, right?
“Wait, I’m sure whatever the problem is it’s not that important!”
“Not that important…?” You scoffed, shaking your head in disbelief. How could they be so cruel?
He remained silent, not quite getting why you were so upset.
“Is it not that important that I stopped being myself to you all? Is it not important that you started treating me so differently ever since you discovered I was her descendant?” Your voice raised it’s tone unconsciously “It feels like I’m dead for you! I’m not Lilith, and I’ll never be, but you can’t seem to get that in your fucking heads!”
Guilt.
That was the only thing Mammon could feel at that moment. He was so excited about having a part of Lilith with them again that he completely forgot about you.
“So please, just let me go, Mammon. I can’t stand living here any longer.”
“No! C’mon MC, we can get over this, right? You don’t have to leave!”
Leviathan
A bit reluctantly, he came out of his room after he heard yelling coming from your room.
He thought it was probably just another stupid fight with Mammon for something he had done.
Oh, how wrong he was.
“I’m not Lilith, and I’ll never be, but you can’t seem to get that in your fucking heads!”
His heart shrunk instantly when he heard those words coming out of your mouth. Soon, and attracted as well by the yelling, the rest of his brothers showed up too.
Gathering all the courage he had in his body, he stepped into the room and spoke up.
“MC, we know that, it’s just-…”
“You know that? You do? Then it’s even worse!.” You laughed, tears starting to form in your eyes. “You know I’m not her, yet you still have even called me by her name. I’ve done nothing but try to help your petty asses to get along and be a real family and this is what I get? I’m tired of this. I hate this.”
Levi shut his mouth. He didn’t expect you to snap against him too, but he deserved it. They all did.
“Do you have any idea about how I’ve been feeling because of you? Do you realize how hurt I am? You replaced me in less than a day! Satan is the only one who hasn’t been a dick!”
Satan
Rage.
Against his brothers, against himself for not stopping them…
He just felt rage.
At that moment, he loathed his brothers, and Lilith too. He loathed them for making their human go through so much pain.
Him being the only one who never had contact with Lilith, of course he was enraged. The MC wanted to leave because their sorry excuses of brothers couldn’t get their shit together and made them feel like they were just a replacement?
Slowly, he walked up to your trembling figure, his arms extended to show you he meant no harm.
Without hesitation, you hugged him tightly and hid your face against his chest, wanting to disappear from the sight of the brothers.
“Are you realizing just now all the harm you’ve caused them?” Satan snarled at them, protecting you in his tight embrace
Asmodeus and Mammon made the attempt to get close to you, but he immediately stopped them. In his eyes, they had no right to want to fix things at this point.
“I hate you… I hate you…” You sobbed against the chest of the fourth born, your words directed to the other six brothers that had broken you while the blond rubbed circles on your back.
Asmodeus
“Darling, we had no idea…”
“EXACTLY!” The sudden yelling made him take a step back.
“You didn’t even notice… that’s exactly the problem…” Your voice cracked, as you finally got the necessary strength to look at them once again, tears streaming down your face.
He lowered his gaze to meet the floor, feeling his own eyes starting to gather tears.
“I’m sorry…”
By now, he had been the only one who actually apologized.
“Take me out of here, Satan, please” your broken voice rang painfully in his ears, and all he wanted to do was hug you and kiss away all the tears
But he knew he fucked up
They all did
They were so happy to have a part of their little sister back with them, they forgot you were… you. That you weren’t really a part of her, nor were a replacement for her.
Beelzebub
Probably, the one that was feeling the worst along with Belphie.
They were the closest with Lilith, so when they found out…
Happiness had blinded them, and now they were paying the price.
He didn’t even talk; he felt like he had no right to do so. And probably it was true.
Maybe he and Belphie were the main culprits of the entire situation.
He deeply appreciated you, how could he do this to you?
“MC…” Your name escaped his lips, and seeing you shake your head just by listening to his voice broke his heart.
“No.”
…
“Don’t even say anything.”
Belphegor
He knew it was his fault.
You had all the right to hate him.
Not only did he kill you, but it was also his fault that everyone in the house started treating you differently
If he hadn’t killed you, would’ve they discovered about you and Lilith?
“And you…” When your gaze landed onto him, he felt a shiver run down his spine.
“You killed me because you missed your sister. Then you learned I was related to her, and suddenly you were so nice to me, even though you never apologized about murdering me?”
He took a step back, trying to hide himself behind Beel.
“I will never forgive you, Belphegor.”
“MC, I…”
“Please, just take me out of here” You sobbed, and Satan helped you without hesitation, leaving the six brothers alone in your room, knowing that it was too late for them to do something to fix things.

————
*gif isn’t mine*
“No, it’s impossible,” Klaus said, clenching his jaw.
“I said the same thing myself,” Elijah said.
Klaus glared and pointed at you, Elijah, and Sophie. “This is a lie. You’re all lying. Vampires cannot procreate.”
“But werewolves can,” Sophie said. “Magic made you a vampire, but you were born a werewolf.”
Klaus turned to face Sophie, not wanting to believe what she was saying.
“You’re the original hybrid, the first of your kind, and this pregnancy is one of nature’s loopholes.”
Klaus shook his head and went to lunge at you. “You’ve been with someone else. Admit it!”
Elijah caught his brother from ripping your throat out. You looked at him, hateful and regretful tears welling up in your eyes.
“Hey, I've spent my days held captive in a freaking alligator bayou because they think that I’m carrying some magical, miracle baby,” you said, balling your hands in fists. “Don’t you think I would’ve fessed up if it wasn’t yours?”
“My sister gave her life to perform the spell,” Sophie added. “She needed to confirm this pregnancy. Because of Jane-Anne’s sacrifice, the lives of this girls and her baby are now controlled by us. We can keep them safe, or we can kill them. If you don’t help us take down Marcel, so help me, Y/n won't live long enough to see her first maternity dress.”
The three of you looked at Sophie incredulously.
“Wait, what?” You asked.
“Enough of this. If you want Marcel dead, he's dead. I’ll do it myself,” Elijah said.
“No,” Sophie shook her head. “We can't, not yet. We have a clear plan that we need to follow, and there are rules.”
Klaus gritted his teeth. “How dare you command me. Threaten me with what you wrongfully perceive to be my weaknesses! This is a pathetic deception. I won’t hear any more lies.”
“Niklaus,” Elijah stopped is brother. “Listen.”
Klaus turned to you, looking at your stomach. He began to hear the baby’s heartbeat. You put your hand over your stomach protectively. Klaus couldn’t believe his ears. It was real, the baby you were carrying was real. He didn’t know how to feel, but he knew he wasn’t going to give in.
“Kill her and the baby,” Klaus said, turning to Elijah. “What do I care?”
Elijah glared at his brother. Klaus walked off, not caring to give you a second glance.
“Screw you, Klaus!” You yelled out, followed by a choked sob. “I’m out of here.” You started to walk away, but one of Sophie’s friends blocked the entrance. You looked at Elijah for help. He turned to Sophie.
“No one touches the girl. I will fix this,” Elijah said.
Sophie let the two of you go. You walked out of the alley, tears streaming down your face. Elijah took your arm gently, having you face him.
“I will talk to him, Y/n,” Elijah said.
“What’s the use?” You sniffled. “He wants nothing to do with this baby. He’s a selfish, heartless monster.”
“Y/n, let me try and make him see what this baby brings to the table. I assure you, everything will be okay,” Elijah said. “I give you my word.” You looked into Elijah’s eyes and nodded. “Alright. Thank you.”
Elijah nodded and left to talk to Klaus. You went back to the byou, knowing that the witches were waiting for you.
The next day wasn’t any easier. It didn’t seem like Elijah got through to Klaus at all. You couldn’t help curse at yourself for putting yourself in this position. Why did you sleep with him? And secondly, why didn’t you use a condom?
You shook your head at your thoughts, walking through the French Quarter to where the Mikaelson’s lived. You were going to find Rebekah and try to see if she could talk to Klaus.
You knocked on the door, frowning when you saw Klaus.
“Hello, Little Wolf. What can I do for you?” Klaus grinned.
“Is Rebakah here?” You asked.
“Yes, she is,” Klaus said.
“Great. I need to talk to her,” you said, trying to go into the house, but you ran into Klaus.
You huffed in frustration, looking into his dark-blue eyes.
If we were to have this baby, at least it would have his pretty eyes, you thought.
“Not so fast, Y/n. Have you know, Rebakah already tried to talk to me about not killing you or the baby, but sadly, it didn’t work,” Klaus said.
You scoffed, “Are you really this heartless? I don’t care about you killing me, but a baby? Oh wait, no, I get it. You’re scared that we’re gonna be shit parents like your parents. I get it now.”
You knew you had peicered his heart, becuase he took ahold of your neck and used his vamp speed to take you in the house and slam you against the wall. You groaned in pain, trying to pry yourself from his grip.
“Do not speak to me like that!” Klaus shouted. “You think you can sway me with your little findings? You think I want to be a parent, Y/n? No, I want nothing to do with the horrendous thing growing inside of you,” Klaus growled.
You gasped for air, your hands on is hand, trying to get him to let go.
“Niklaus!”
Klaus and you saw Elijah behind him, a disappointed look on his face.
“Let go of the girl. Now,” Elijah commanded.
Klaus looked back at you, crazy shining in his eyes. He let you go roughly. You fell to the floor, holding your neck and coughing.
“You do not treat a woman who is barring a child like that, Niklaus. Mother would be so disappointed in you,” Elijah said.
Klaus growled, “Do not talk to me about Mother!”
“Fine,” Elijah said. He walked over to you, helping you up. “I will talk to you about this baby, though. If you do not wish to comply with the witches and keep the baby safe, then you shall be killed. If you do comply, you could welcome your first child into the world, Niklaus. I know you felt something when you heard the heartbeat, so think seriously about your decision to leave or care for the girl and the baby.”
Klaus looked between you two. His brother was right. When he heard the baby’s heartbeat, tears of joy had sprung in his eyes. And the thought of you carrying his baby filled his heart with a little love and pride. He knew that if he did comply, then everything would change. He would change. Was he able and willing to do that?
“Let me think about it,” Klaus said.
“Alright. Have your answer by tomorrow morning. Say sorry to Y/n,” Elijah said.
Klaus looked into your eyes, seeing tears fall out of them. It pained his heart to see you cry more than he’d like to admit.
“I’m sorry, Y/n,” he said.
You gave Klaus a forgiving, kind smile, knowing he meant it. “Thank you.” You then turned to Elijah.
“Can I stay here tonight? I hate the byou.”
“Of course. We have plenty of rooms. Do you want dinner?” Elijah asked.
“Sure,” you nodded.
Elijah smiled at you, then looked to Klaus. “Klaus go and cook something for Y/n, hm?”
“Fine,” Klaus rolled his eyes. He went to the kitchen to get to work.
“He acts like he’s 5. Oh, my God,” you chuckled.
“Yes, he’s immature, but if he makes the right choice like I know he will, he will be a great father,” Elijah said.
“How do you know that he will make the right choice?” You asked.
“Well, Klaus loves family. He loves the idea of a perfect family. We never had that as children. I know he would love to have a family of his own more than anything, but his fear of taking care of a child blocks him from admitting,” Elijah explained.
“And his pride. He’s too afraid to become soft,” you snorted.
Elijah chuckled, “Yes, you are right.”
You smiled at Elijah. “Thank you for saving me, again.”
“Of course, Y/n. This baby is going to my neice or nephew. It’s already part of the family, as are you. Now, I should be going. I have some business to attend to,” he said.
“Alright. See you again,” you waved.
Elijah gave you a warm smile and left the house. You sighed and seated yourself in the living room. You hoped to the moon Elijah was right.
The next morning you woke up to the smell of eggs and bacon. You did a big stretch before finding yourself needing to puke You rushed to the bathroom, falling to your knees. While throwing up, you felt the hair around your face lift up. You finished having your morning sickness and took a sheet of toilet paper and wiped your mouth. You flushed the toilet, looking back to see Klaus with a cheerful smile on his face, his hand holding up your hair.
“Oh, it’s you,” you said, standing up. You went over to the sink to wash your face and hands.
“I thought you’d be happy to see me,” Klaus said. “I helped your hair not fall into the toilet.”
You chuckled, “Right. Yeah, thanks.”
You started to brush your teeth, Klaus standing there, watching you. You furrowed your brows and spit out the toothpaste.
“Go away,” you said.
“No, I wanted to talk about the baby,” Klaus said.
You turned around, leaning on the sink counter. “Does this mean you have agreed to help me take care of the baby, and not put me in a chokehold anymore?”
Klaus chuckled and moved closer to you. “Yes, but on one condition.”
You rolled your eyes. “No, I don’t want to hear it. The baby and I are hungry, I’m going downstairs.” You moved past him, but only got out of the bathroom before being pulled back.
“You’ll want to listen to me, Little Wolf. It will make it easier for us,” Klaus said, pulling you so barley had any space between you two.
Your heartbeat spiked up, not feeling totally comfortable with how close you two were.
“Let me go, Klaus,” you said through a clenched jaw.
“One moment. I will protect you and the baby and do what the witches want, if you agree to do stay out of my way and do whatever I command you to.”
You scoffed, “No! I’m not gonna be one of your victims. I’m carrying your baby, Klaus. You have no right to control me.”
Klaus rolled his eyes. “Fine. Just promise to stay out of my way then?”
“Fine,” you sighed.
Klaus put his hand up to your cheek, brushing a peice of hair out of the way. You looked up into his eyes, feeling a gravitational pull between you and him. Your eyes flickered down to his lips and back to his eyes. Klaus smirked, cupping your cheek.
“Falling, are we?” Klaus remarked.
You puled away, the moment ruined and the feelings you were feeling disappearing slowly.
“You wish,” you said before walking off.
Klaus looked at your retreating figure, feeling a little regretful that he had spoken. If he hadn’t, maybe you two would have kissed.
He shook his head of the romantic feelings he was feeling. He wasn’t supposed to fall in love with you. You were just a little bump in the road in his plan to ruling New Orleans. And this baby you two had, like the witches said, is the miracle baby that would change the supernatural world forever.
He walked down to find you eating some strawberries, smiling and talking to Elijah. Even though he pushed his feelings for you away, he couldn’t deny you were gorgeous, even when just after waking up.
“Ah, good morning, Klaus. Y/n has told me that you have chosen to protect her and the baby. I’m glad you made the right choice,” Elijah said.
“Yes, well, I’m not completely heartless,” Klaus said and sat down at the island table next to you.
“Could’ve fooled me,” you smirked.
“Ha-ha, very funny,” Klaus rolled his eyes, throwing a blueberry at you.
You giggled, chucking a strawberry at him. Klaus smiled at you, catching the strawberry and eating it. You couldn’t help but smile at this. You never had ever seen him like this. He looked joyful and carefree. It was nice to see him like this. You hoped he continued to be like this before and definitely after your pregnancy.
“Hello, love birds!” Rebekah announced.
You looked to the blonde and smiled. “Hey!”
“How is my sister-in-law-to-be?” Rebekah smiled.
“Good since your brother hasn’t been an ass for the last 5 minutes,” you said.
“Wow. Now, that is unheard of. Interesting,” Rebekah smiled.
“You two are friends? I thought you two hated each other?” Klaus asked.
“Well, she’s carrying my neice or nephew. It’s different now,” Rebekah explained.
“Yep. Apparently having your child gets me friends,” you chuckled.
Rebekah smiled. “Well, plus, she is a great person once you get to know her. And she’s the only girl who lives here now. I’m sick of being in the boy’s club.”
“Aw, thanks, Bex. You’re a great person, too,” you smiled.
Rebekah came over and took a strawberry from the bowl in front of you. “I have to go.”
You frowned, “Oh, why? Don’t leave me with them.”
“Ah, Y/n,” Elijah smiled. “I have been nothing but nice to you.”
You smiled at him. “True, but I want some girl time.”
“We will get that time soon, promise. I have to go and meet Marcel,” Rebekah said.
“No,” Klaus said, standing up.
You glared at Klaus. “Let her go. She could use some time with someone who is romantically interested in her.”
“I said no. You will not do anything with Marcel as long as you are living with me,” Klaus commanded.
“Oh, please, Niklaus. I’m a grown woman, I don't listen to you anymore. Ta-ta,” Rebekah waved at you and left the house.
“Jesus Christ,” Klaus muttered. “I’m going to kill-”
“Klaus!” You exclaimed. “Come with me to shop for maternity clothes, yeah?”
Klaus turned to you, “Why would I want to do that?”
You frowned, “Because it’s good for a mother and father to bond, even when they hate each other. We can go and buy you some new shirts, too.”
“I don’t need to buy anything for myself,” Klaus said.
“Yeah, you do. You wear the same 3 colors. You need to put in some pink in your wardrobe,” you said.
“Y/n is right. Go and spend time with, as the millennials say, your baby mama,” Elijah smiled.
Klaus rolled your eyes. “You two are impossible, but fine! Let’s go and get this over with.”
You got up and clapped your hands in excitement. You put on sneakers and grabbed a jacket before going outside. Klaus followed you out to the shops. “I have a question,” you said.
“Yes?” Klaus asked.
“Since you can compel people, do you ever use actual money to buy clothes or compel yourself clothes?” You asked.
“Sometimes I buy, sometimes I compel,” he shrugged.
“Where do you get the money to buy?” You asked.
“I’ve been alive for 1,000 years, I have had jobs before,” Klaus explained.
“Ah, right. Makes sense,” you nodded.
You two walked the rest of the way in silence. You two went into a clothing store and went to the maternity section.
“You aren’t even showing yet, why do we need to buy now?” Klaus asked.
“It’s just a fun thing I’ve heard mothers do. Plus, I assume with time, life will be a lot more complicated, and I won’t have time to do these things,” you explained.
“Hm, interesting,” Klaus said.
You sighed quietly, looking at a few shirts for 3 months. Klaus followed behind you, observing you. He would never admit, but he enjoyed spending time with you. He did find you a little annoying and a bit of a distraction, but the fact that you were fun to be around and made him feel like he could let go was what made him all the more willing to comply with Elijah and the witches. You carrying his baby also helped, too.
“Why are you staring at me?” You asked.
Klaus shrugged, “I have nothing better to do.”
You hummed, “Right.”
You two shopped in silence for about an hour, then going to a nearby restaurant for a snack. Spending time with him wasn’t as bad as you thought. He was more quiet and a lot less whiney than he had shown in the past. He just let you do whatever you want, whatever was safe, of course. He actually was kind to you in the hour. He laughed at your jokes, answered whatever questions you had, and took an effort to ask questions he had to get to know you.
Maybe he wasn’t so bad, you thought.
You two went back home, a bunch of shopping bags in your hands. You put them in the living room, yawning and stretching.
“I’m going to take a nap,” you said.
“Alright, sleep well,” Klaus said.
You gave him a small smile and nodded. You went up the stairs, Klaus watching your retreating figure.
“See how easy it is to be nice?” Elijah’s voice came from the kitchen.
Klaus glared at his older brother. “I’m not doing it for you or her.”
“I never said you were, but now you have made me suspicious. It seems like you like her, Niklaus,” Elijah smiled.
“I don’t like her. Not romantically, anyways,” Klaus said.
“Are you sure? Why did you sleep with her, then?” Elijah asked.
“I don’t know. It was just a one night stand that ended up turning into something more. Why do you care, Elijah?” Klaus asked.
“I see the way you look at her, Niklaus. There is no shame in admitting your feelings,” Elijah said.
Klaus rolled his eyes. “Whatever, Elijah. I have to go.”
Elijah smirked, “Alright. See you later, brother.”
“See you,” Klaus said before going back out.
Over the course of the next few months, you and Klaus had gotten closer and became more friendly towards each other. You had learned that he had a passion for painting and reading. You learned that he wished that he had the perfect family and he hoped that one day, his family could reunite and be together once again. He knew how to cook and actually a good man, but because of his chaotic and violent childhood, he became the bad guy. He seeks validation and honesty in others, wanting to be loved and have friendships that lasted a lifetime.
Klaus had learned that you were adopted and thrown out all by the same family. You didn’t know who your real parents were, and you craved that information and have been searching for it since you first turned. He had learned that you had a passion for baking and helping others. That you were strong, confident, and weren’t afraid to protect your loved ones. He thought it was admirable the way you handled stress and betrayal, wishing he learned your patience.
Learning about each other more had made you two fall in love with each other, but that was unbeknownst to you two. You both didn’t even realise your own feelings. You personally knew that you liked being in Klaus’s presence. You felt safe and protected, accepted and even loved. He made you feel alive and the fact that he showed interest in you and the baby helped you like him more.
For Klaus, he enjoyed your presence, too. You always knew how to make him laugh. You made him feel different. Like he could be himself and forget who're or rather, what he was. It was freeing being with you, and he loved it. He was even looking forward more and more to the baby you and him had concieved. In his mind, you two were the family he always wanted and pictured.
Even though you two didn’t notice your infatuation with each other, everyone else sure did. Rebekah and Elijah decided to make a plan on getting you two together. Every chance they could, they would tease you two, make it so you tripped into him, left you two alone together, etc.
Like now, Rebekah had placed a golf ball on the floor and you had slipped. Klaus had rushed over to you and caught you in bridal style, immediately looking at your stomach for any signs of injury to the baby and you. He then looked to Rebekah and Elijah who are smiling.
“What are you two so happy about? Y/n could have hurt herself,” Klaus said.
“Oh, she’s fine. She and the baby would’ve healed,” Rebekah said.
“No, seriously, guys. Stop leaving shit on the floor, okay?” You asked.
Rebekah nodded, “Alright, alright. Sorry.”
Klaus let you go, his hands lingering against the small of your back. You weren't sure if it was the baby or his touch, but your stomach flipped. You leaned into him a little, wanting to be close to him for as long as you could. He was unbelievable warm, which was nice for you and the baby.
Elijah and Rebekah noticed your body language and smirked at each other. It was a wonder how you two didn’t notice each other’s love and care for each other. The both decided it was time for the two to have a talk with each of them, to try and push them to get together farther.
“Klaus, I need to see you for a second,” Elijah said.
Klaus moved away from you, leaving you cold and a little lonely. Klaus smiled goodbye at you before going in the next room with Elijah. Rebekah went up to you, a cheeky grin on her face.
“What are you and Elijah up to?” You asked.
“Nothing, nothing. I just wanted to talk to you about Klaus,” Rebekah said.
“Okay. What about him?” You asked.
“You’re in love with him, right?” Rebekah asked.
Your eyes went wide and your face flushed. “Wha-What?”
Rebekah smirked, “So you do. Why haven’t you done anything about it?”
You shrugged, “I don’t know. He only sees me as the mother of his child, another person to call a friend. We are no where near romance right now.”
“You’d be surprised to hear that you’re wrong,” Rebekah said.
You furrowed your brows. “What do you mean?”
“He's in love with you, too, Y/n,” Rebekah said.
“He’s not,” you scoffed.
“Yes, he is. Do you not see the way he looks at you? The way he cares for you and the baby? How every time you come into the room, a smile is immediately on his face and his aura is brighter?” Rebekah listed off examples.
The longer she went on, the more your face got red. “Ye-Yeah, I guess. You think he’s really in love with me?” You asked, hope shining in your eyes.
“Yes. Confront him. If I’m wrong, I owe you a lifetime of favours, okay? But if I’m right, I get a say in your baby’s name,” Rebekah grinned.
You rolled your eyes with a smile. “Fine. Deal. I’ll confront him tonight after dinner.”
“Great! Well, looks like my work is done. I better see you two trying for another baby after dinner,” Rebekah smirked and winked at you.
“Bex!” You exclaimed with a laugh before she went upstairs.
A few moments later, Klaus came back from the living room.
“So, what did Elijah want with you?” You asked.
“Oh, just to talk about what we are going to do with Sophie, that’s all. How about you and Rebekah?” Klaus asked.
“Just stuff about the baby,” you answered.
“Fun. Well, ready for dinner?” Klaus asked.
You nodded and sat down at the kitchen table, watching Klaus cook for you. You watched him in silence. You also ate dinner in silence. You two had a feeling that whatever Klaus’s siblings talked to you two about was the same thing, but you two were just too shy to say anything. But as Klaus walked you up the stairs to bed, you had stopped to ask him the burning question you had in your brain all night.
“Are you… are you in love with me?” You asked him, looking him straight in the eyes.
Klaus’s eyes widened in surprise. He coughed and averted your gaze. “Maybe.”
Your lips upturned into a small smile. “I’m in love with you, too, Nik.”
Klaus looked up to you, a smile appearing on his face. “Really?”
You nodded and bit your lip. “Yeah.”
Klaus leaned towards you, snaking his arm around your waist, pulling you closer. His other hand went up to your cheek, cupping it. You nuzzled into his hand, your own hands going to cup the sides of his face. You looked deep into his dark-blue eyes, getting lost in them. You two found yourselves leaning into each other, your lips eventually meeting.
Your eyes closed in an instant, pressing yourself up against him more. Klaus’s hold on your waist tightened and he deepened the kiss by dragging his tongue on your bottom lip. You opened your mouth quickly, giving him easy access to explore your mouth.
You two felt sparks fly around you two, both of your guys’s skin lighting on fire from each other's touch. Even though you two had kissed before, this time was more special. Almost monumental.
While you two were sharing your special moment, Elijah and Rebekah were watching with proud smiles on their faces.
“Such a wonderful couple,” Rebekah sighed.
“Yes. The big bad and little wolf,” Elijah smiled.

“Where are we going, Jaskier.” The Witcher’s brooding voice echoed threw the flowered valley. His horse trotted not far behind his companion. Jaskier looked back at him and just rolled his eyes.
“How many times have you led me on endless roads, towards the middle of nowhere speaking little to no words to me no matter how much I ask?” Geralt said nothing. Jaskier snorted looking back towards the road.
“Exactly. No shut up, your brooding is giving me a headache.” The bard was giving the witcher a taste of his own medicine. The idea that Jaskier was leading him to somewhere he had no idea of the location, made him uneasy. Did he trust his bard? Absolutely without a doubt. Would he ever admit it to him? No never.
Their travels continued till the sun was barely hanging in the sky. The air had grown crisp replacing the harsh burning of the full summer sun. Jaskier pulled his mare to the side of the road, climbing off her, tying her to a tree. Geralt followed, realizing they were stopping for the day.
“We still have a couple hours of daylight left.” Geralt said as he took Roach’s saddle and tack off.
“We don't need a couple hours, we are nearly there. Maybe an hour and half.” Geralt cocked an eyebrow at Jaskier.
“Then why did we stop?” Jaskier pulled his saddle bags off his horse, putting them beside a log as he gathered some sticks for the fire.
“Because I have to debrief you as to who we are going to see and you must bathe before we do so. The stream here will do the trick.”
“Gods Jaskier, will you just tell me where we are going? The secrecy is bullshit.” The broot of a man was losing his patience with his friend.
The duo had been on the trip for nearly two weeks. They left Tramieria and headed east. Much further east than Geralt could ever remember traveling. Yet the bard seemed to know exactly what turns to take and when. The closer they drew to their destination the more the witcher could hear his heart beat faster.
“Jaskier if this is some stupid plot for me to protect you from some man who’s wife you slept with again-“
“It's not Geralt-“ Jaskier pinched the bridge of his nose, his stress causing a minor headache. “Just go bathe then I’ll tell you everything.” Geralt studied his friend, his eyes searching his face, his ears tuning into his heart beat trying his best to figure out what he was getting himself into.
With a low grunt the witcher grabbed his last set of clean clothes and the bar of soap from the bard's hand before stomping off to the river.
“Clean EVERYTHING!” Jaskier yelled over his shoulder. Only getting an unfriendly finger in return.
Nearly an hour later, the sun was completely hidden behind the canyon, the glow of the fire Jaskier started illuminating their small camp. Jaskier’s fingers strummed mindlessly at his lute, his eyes fixed on the stars that were making their presence known more, humming to himself softly. He heard his friends footsteps as he approached, his hair was wet at his shoulders. A fresh white Cotton tunic hugged his muscular build, black trousers hugging his legs. He smiled nice for once. All thanks to the lavender and honey soap Jaskier had received as a gift.
“Now don't you look better.” Jaskier said with a chuckle. The witcher sat down across the fire from him, his golden eyes staring heavily at the bard.
“Spill your guts Jaskier.” Jaskier rubbed his hands over his face and nodded. His eyes looking anywhere but at his friend.
“I haven't been completely forward about my family life.” Jaskier’s eyes landed on the moon above them. It was nearly full, he was doing well with time. He knew they would reach their destination well before the next full moon.
“Jaskier.” Geralt’s harsh voice broke the silence. With a loud sigh Jaskier finally looked his friend in the face.
“I’m royalty Geralt.” The Witcher’s expression did not change. He just looked at his friend. He could hear Jaskier's heart beat become uneven and unsteady. At first he thought it was a joke but the nervous energy radiating from his long time friend made him think better.
“My family, they are wonderful people. My mother, bless her, taught me everything I needed to know about writing and music. Convinced my father to let me train at Oxenfurt Academy. My father is a noble and loyal king. He served our people well. Still does to my knowledge. I haven't been back in nearly 20 years…” the bard trailed off, his eyes fixated on his hands, his fingers twildilling with a ring he had on. The ring was that of his family. Their crest engraved into the gold.
“I was never meant to be a noble. I lived for adventure, for more than just sitting on a throne and watching people come and go. I was never fit to be king. My parents knew that. They understood. Understanding people they are.” His voice trailed off again, hopping his friend would say something. Ask a question. Anything. He didn’t know where to go next.
“Why didn't you ever tell me?” Geralt finally asked.
“Because it never came up. My family never needed me. I never needed them. I love them all dearly of course. But we were never the closest people in the world. Well, my sister and I were.” That caught the Witcher’s attention. His eyes narrow slightly, he made sure to not let his expression scare the bard into not telling him more. He was genuinely curious about his family. But he couldn't lie and say he wasn't disappointed that in the 7 years they traveled together he never heard of them.
“You have a sister?” The bard's eyes lit up. His memory raced with images of his tun little sister chasing him around the courtyard screaming, yelling his name. Her giggles and laughs pulling at his heart strings.
“Yes. Her name is (Y/N). She is about to be 25. Big age for a princess. I havnt seen her since she was very little.” His heart started to break softly. His neglect to his baby sitter weighting heavily on him.
“I write her often, as much as I can. She was...well, a surprise to my parents to say the least. I was 15 when she was born. I left home at 20. I was only around for her toddler years. I never got to see her grow, blossom into a young woman. I missed so much.” Jaskier had to fight back the tears, his throat becoming tight and dry. His body filling with regret.
“I just kept pushing it back Geralt. I alwasy said I’d make it home. I alwasy had it in the back of my mind to go back and see her. But I never did.”
“Why now?” Geralt asked.
“She wrote me a few months back. It was nearly a book. It was filled with tales of her new travels around our country. She had been training heavily with an unmanned matester of combat. She traveled the countryside with the man. She referred to him as an uncle. In the letter she asked me if it was true that I’d been traveling with you. She said the songs and tales of Jaskier the Bard traveling with the White Wolf made it to her ears.” Jaskier stopped talking for a brief moment, rummaged around his rut sack and pulled out a notebook. He untied its string and a large pile of papers fell out into his hand. He unfolded the parchment and scanned the writing.
“I wrote her back that week. Only to receive this in return.” He began to read;
“Oh dear Jaskier!! I cannot believe its true. I thought he was only a legend. The white wolf. Please tell him he is a hero here. We love his stories. Many have written books of him. Children run round calling themselves the butcher of Blaviken here to save the damsel and distress. I love his stories, mainly because they involve you. Please come visit me this year. I miss you terribly. I want to hear of your travels with the wolf. Mother said he is more than welcome to stay if he wishes to travel with you. I do miss you Jaskier. More than I think you know. I do not mean to guilt you or make you feel bad as i know you are traveling the world to your heart's content and would never want you to feel as though I do not support you-“ Jaskier stopped reading for a brief moment. A small tear dripped onto the page he was reading. Geralt listened to every word he read. He couldn't help the small tug of his lips when he read about the children pretending to be him. It was a breath of fresh air for the witcher. He had constantly been told he was a monster. To hid your children from him. Yet here was an entire country that loved him, yet he had no idea. Jaskier cleared his throat and continued. “But i miss my brother. And maybe, just maybe. I could come with you. If you deem me fit. I have been working tirelessly with a friend of fathers. He trains me in not only swordsmanship, but Herbology, and monsters as well. I can name nearly every monster that has inhabited the Continent and how to slay it. He thinks I’m ready to leave the nest and I think mother and father are getting a bit tired of me as well. I cannot stand another somber, dull, dinner party with nobles who look at me like a piece of meat. So please. Visit me soon. Come and stay a few days. Catch up with your dear sister and maybe, if he isn't too busy and if it doesn’t inconvenience him, bring the Wolf with you. He’d be a welcomed hero. All my love dear brother. Xoxo Love always, (Y/N) Irene Pankratz
Jaskier folded the letter, placing it inside his notebook before safely storing it inside his sack again. He ran a hand over his face, his eyes slowly moving from his hands to his best friend. They sat in the silence for a while. Geralt’s brain replaying the words he had heard from his friend.
“You could have told me about her Jaskier. Why didn't you? You’ve been in contact with her all this time, planning to see her and your family again. Bringing me along for the ride, yet not a single word in 7 years. Do you not trust me with such a secret Jaskier?” Jaskier was taken aback by his friend's words.
He never knew his secrecy would have such an impact on his friend. When it came to Geralt he learned long ago, the little words, the better. The witcher can only handle so much before he loses interest and stops listening or walks away. He never in a million years would have thought he cared about his life that much. It warmed the bards heart to know his dear friend, the only brother he ever had, cared that deeply for him.
“It has nothing to do with not trusting you Geralt. Is has everything to do with the shame I hold for not seeing her sooner. For treating her like a dirty secret form the world. There is no logical reason for me to keep my family such a big secret. Yet I have. For 20 years.” Geralt’s hands rubbed together softly as he listened to his friend. He understood the secrecy. He was a box full of secrets that nobody could get into.
“Its okay Jaskier. I understand the secrecy. Is that where we are going tomorrow?” Jaskier nodded, a smile appearing on his face.
“Her birthday is the next full moon. I’m hoping my gift will be a good start in time lost.” Geralt looked at him curiously. He hadn't noticed any major item in Jaskier’s possession that could make a good gift for a young princess.
“You’re her gift Geralt. I wrote her back after that letter and told her I’d be back for her next birthday. But that you simply were to busy with your work. I told her that you greatly appreciated her support and that youd consider writing to her in the future. She has no idea your coming with me.” Geralt didnt know how he felt about being a gift. He never ever saw himself as a gift to anyone. More of a burden the a gift. He shook his head at Jaskier and tutted at him.
“Jaskier if your that broke you could’ve asked me for a few extra coins for a real gift.” The witcher attempted to joke with the bard. It made Jaskier smile more. Geralt could be funny, but his humor was incredibly dry, much like Jaskier’s father.
“Geralt! Did you just try and joke around with me??” Geralt rolled his eyes, laying down stretching his muscles as he looked up at the starts.
“Best get some sleep Jaskier, you’ve got a rather big family reunion tomorrow.”

The next morning Jaskier was up and awake before Geralt, a rare sight. He truly hadn't slept more than a couple hours that night. His nerves kept him awake. He feared his sister wouldn’t be as loving as he pictured, she had every right to be mad at him, hate him even. By the time Geralt was up, Jaskier had bathed, changed and had his horse completely ready to go.
Geralt had to do everything in his power to not laugh at his friend. He looked rather ridiculous. His normal bright attire was replaced with a royals outfit. A green and blue velvet tunic and some extremely uncomfortable looking black trousers. His hair was combed back and his face was freshly washed. He even cleaned under his fingernails. He looked rather ridiculous in Geralt’s opinion. He couldn't help the low chuckle that left his lips as he put his bed roll away.
“I don't understand why you're laughing. I have some clothes for you to put on as well.” Geralt’s expression changed instantly, from humorous to angry.
“No. Absolutely not. What I’m wearing is perfectly fine. I’d wear it to meet any king or queen.” A bag was chucked at him, he barely caught it before it smacked into his face.
“This isn't any normal king and queen Geralt. This is my family. And besides, you are no ordinary witcher in my kingdom, you’ll be treated as royalty there. You may as well look the part.” Geralt huffed and threw the bag of clothes back at his friends feet, glaring daggers at him. He hated dressing up with a burning passion. Everything was too tight, not easy to fight in. If anything happened he’d have to rip the seams on every piece of clothing to be able to maneuver his weapons properly. And fancy clothes dont have space for weapons. He didn't like that one bit. Jaskier looked at his friend. His eyes pleading with him.
“Please Geralt. Just for today and her birthday. I couldn't care less what you wear at any other point on this trip.” He had walked closer to Geralt now. About a meter away from him. He extended his hand, the bag in his hand. Geralt looked from the bag to his friend. His teeth and jaw clenched.
He let out a loud huff and grabbed the bag from the bard.
“Fine.” He said through gritted teeth and began taking off his clothing. Jaskier smiled before turning his attention to Roach, getting her stalled and tacked so when Geralt was dressed they could leave.
“If we move with a bit of a haste we could make it there before breakfast.” Jaskier said as he mounted his horse, looking at his friend. His hand slapped over his face. The witcher looked utterly ridiculous in his new attire. The bright red and orange vest a-top a cream tunic, his legs tight in some disgustingly ugly corduroy pants. The pants were obviously smaller than the seamstress he bought them off claimed them to be. The ends of the pants came nearly mid calf on Geralt’s legs. His pasty white ankles and feet shining in the early morning sun.
“Jesus Geralt. Those are worse than the ones I got for Pavetta’s party.” The bard could no longer hold in his laughter. Did Gerarlt look like a nobleman? Sure, but his size, white hair, and bright yellow eyes really didn't help the situation.
“Jaskier, I will kill you for this.” Geralt grumbled angered as he pulled his socks up his feet and over his calves. Luckily for him (and Jaskier) his boots went higher than his pants, making it harder to notice that the pants he was wearing were way too small.
“At least I’m not making you wear a big hat with a feather, those are truly hideous.” Geralt mounted Roach, more carefully then he normally does in fear his pants could bust at the seams.
“I had to wrap you up nice and pretty to present you to my sister.” Jaskier commented as he led his horse; Napoleon to the main road, Geralt and Roach in tow.
The two men rode in a comfortable silence for some time, but as they got closer and closer to Jaskier’s home, all Geralt could hear was his frantic heartbeat. Jaskier’s palms get sweaty and his throat dry, no matter how much water he drinks from his water skin.
“Jaskier. You need to calm down. Your fucking heart beat is driving me insane.” Geralt hissed. They could see the end of the valley they had been traveling in. Geralt looked out in the distance, his eyes saw the castle first. It was very far, but he could tell how beautiful it was from where they were.
“Maybe you just shouldn’t listen to it then.” Jaskier barked back.
“You know I have no control over it, idiot. Take a deep breath. I know you're scared, I understand. But from the sounds of it your sister desperately misses you, I don't think she would ask you to come see her if she was going to hate you.” Geralt didn't talk much at all, that everyone knew. He was a man of few words. But when he did speak it was wiser than most people ever expected. People tended to forget the age of the white haired man, as he stopped ageing physically in his late twenties.
Jaskier smiled softly at his friend's words, he listened to him and took a few deep breaths, calling himself down. Geralt was right. His sister seemed eager as ever to see him again.
The two men approached the entrance to the city. Geralt was more than shocked. He wasn't sure if he had ever seen a city so beautiful in his entire life. The streets were lined in beautiful stone, flowers, vines, greenery all around every corner. The banners that were hanging on the outside of the main gates caught Geralt’s eyes. The crests on them were brightly colored in greens and blues, a very large diamond in the center. Their horses rode into the entrance of the town. Jaskier’s heart was calm, steady, his face was bright and had a smile Geralt had never seen on him before. He was finally home.
“Welcome to Inritha (In-Rithe-A) the capital of Unthya (Un-The-A) Geralt. Welcome to my home.”
Their horses traveled down the stone brick road slowly, the city was buzzing already even with it being the early hours of the morning. Geralt was surprised to see everyone look so...happy, care free. Enjoying their lives. They looked as though nothing was a fret, no monster looming. Geralt was mesmerized by the city. The buildings were built out of what looked to him like limestone, a building material he so rarely saw in other parts of the Continent. The buildings were being taken over by vines and moss, flowers all over. He’d never seen so many butterflies in his life.
“Jaskier-'' his voice was barely a whisper, the bard turning to look at him as they rode side by side. Jaskier couldn't help but smile as his friend admired the beauty he himself had so easily forgotten over the years.
“I know, it's beautiful. I've forgotten myself.”
The two men continued riding their horses up the road closer and closer to the castle. The longer they road tho more attention they got from passer buys. Geralt could hear their whispers.
It couldn't be. Could it?
THE Geralt of Rivia? Here in Inritha?
Mummy look! It's the butcher!!
Has Prince Jaskier finally returned home?
For the first time in what seemed like his entire life, the hushed whispers Geralt heard as he rode through a city were not of hate and disgust. But of admiration and curiosity. The entire time Geralt and Jaskier rode through the city, he never once had the urge to grab either of his swords that were at his side.
The two men approached the gates of the castle, four armored guards stood outside. The put their hand up in motion for the men to stop. One who looked as tho to be the commander of sorts stepped forward poking between both men. Eyes lingering for a long while on the two.
“State your name and what business you have in Inritha at this early hour.” Jaskier dismounted his horse, waking a few feet forward.
“My name is Jaskier Alfred Pankratz son of Dastrill and Alvere Pankratz. This is my companion Geralt Of Rivia, we are here on behalf of my sister, (Y/N) Irene Pankratz’s 25th birthday.” Jaskier bowed his head lowly, keeping eye contact with the commander in front of him.
“Prince Jaskier?!?” The man clearly looked flustered and embarrassed for not recognizing the prince of his own kingdom. All four men quickly bowed their heads.
“Please accept my apology your highness, we welcome you home. As do we welcome your honored guest.” Jaskier smiled and told the men to not trouble themselves with an apology. Geralt continued to watch from atop Roach, still not use to being idolized instead of feared. Honored guest. Geralt thought to himself. He could get use to the new treatment. Jaskier remounted Napoleon the gates to the castle walls opening. The both road threw, all four men bowed their heads as the two walked threw. Not once did they threaten Geralt’s life. They were led by a guard to the stables where they left their horses.
Geralt could hear Jaskier heart beating again in his chest as they were led inside the castle. Geralt tried to concentrate on his friend, to be there for him but he couldn't help but let his eyes wander all over the castle's walls, it was a bright exterior. The walls polished, candles everywhere. Large windows allowing for natural lighting. Nothing dark or gloomy about the castle at all. He felt uplifted..cheary almost. As they neared the entrance to the grand hall where the King, Queen, Princess along with some others were. Geralt could hear the light conversation, and the clicking of silver on plates, they were eating breakfast. But he could still hear Jaskier’s heart beating in his chest. Geralt placed a comforting hand on his friend's shoulder as they walked, giving it a soft squeeze. The action made Jaskier more worried if the witcher was feeling alright, as it was abnormally out of character for the man. But he said nothing, appreciating the gesture.
They got to the door and just as the guard was about to push the doors open Jaskier grabbed his arm.
“Could we maybe skip the loud over dramatic announcements of my arrival? I have not seen my family in years.” The guard only nodded, bowed his head and walked back outside to his post. Jaskier looked over at his friend, as he put his hand on the door ready to push it open.
“Now or never.” Jaskier said as he opened the door. Both men walked into the large room, the talking stopped almost instantly. Geralt stood at the door, not wanting to impose on the important reunion of his friend and his family. He followed Jaskiers gaze to the table ahead of them in the front of the room. The room was lined with huge floor to ceiling windows, the light of the early morning sun shone brightly making the marble floors glisten.
“JASKIER!!!” The loud scream of a girl nearly made Geralt jump out of his skin, his hand reaching back for a sword that wasn't there in instinct.
It made Jaskier jump but the smile that covered his face was even bigger than the one he had seen as he walked through the city. Geralt followed Jaskier’s gaze to a young woman. The sight of her alone made Geralt want to pass out. He wasn't sure if he had ever seen someone so beautiful in his entire life. Her hair was the same chestnut brown that Jaskier had, but it was long, hip length. She had it pulled back slightly out of her face, a few baby hairs framed her face. Oh her face. Geralt thought as though he was looking at a living breathing angel. He heard her chair scrape roughly on the ground before it loudly crashed on the floor. She raced around the long table from her mothers side and sprinted to her brother. She practically threw herself on him. Her arms wrapped tightly around his neck. He quickly wrapped his arms around her, stumbling back a few steps. Everything was quite as the two embraced. Geralt's eyes went to the king and queen who were now standing. The queen looked just like (Y/N) but her hair was black, long stripes of grey peeking through her hair. The crown atop her head glistened in the light. Her right hand was tightly around her husband's arm, her other hand placed softly over her mouth as she looked at her children. Her husband looked much like Jaskier. His hair was the same color as both of their children, but much like his wife’s, much of it had turned grey. His eyes were the same cornflower blue that Jaskier had.
Minutes passed in silence before Jaskier put his hands on his sisters shoulders, pulling her away from him. He put one hand on her cheek as he examined her features. Her pale cheeks were damp with tears. But not sad tears. Tears of joy.
“My sister, how you’ve grown.” Geralt could hear the tears in the bard's voice. He couldn't see him but he could hear everything.
(Y/N) fingers gently brushed over her brother’s face as she smiled at him.
“My brother, how you haven't aged a day. You look just as I remember you. Maybe a few more wrinkles.” She teased. He laughed softly. Wiping his eyes with his hand before pulling her into another bone crushing embrace. She was much shorter than Jaskier, barely shoulder level with him. Geralt was shocked to remember she would be turning 25 in two days. She was still young in the face, beautiful. He wanted nothing more than to see her more up close.
While the siblings spoke their parents moved from the spots at the table, standing behind (Y/N). Alvere was the first to pull him into a tight embrace after her daughter let go. Her fingers gently combed through his hair as she inhaled his scent deeply.
“My dear son how I've missed you.” She whispers slowly into his ear. Geralt was starting to feel bad for eavesdropping. Not that he could help it. He was still standing at the entrance to the grand hall yet he could hear everything.
Jaskiers father hugged him next, it was not nearly as long as the outer two but both men were okay with it. Understanding that their relationship had never been one for long father son hugs.
“It is good to see you again my boy.” His hand clasped down on his son's shoulder.
The four of them stood close together, smiling more than Geralt ever thought possible. It almost made his heart turn. Deep, deep, deep, down the witcher longed for a family that would look at him the way they looked at Jaskier. He often cured the universe for not giving him an option when it came to what he had become. He clung to the few memories he had of his mother. But as years passed they became harder and harder to remember, more painful. But he had. Made a new sort of family over the years. From Jaskier, to his brothers at Kaer Morhen.
“(Y/N), mum, dad, there is someone I’d like you to meet.” Jaskier turned his head towards the door to the hall. Geralt stood tall, shoulders pressed back, his hair framed his face gracefully. Even in the entirely ugly attire he was in, he made himself as presentable and as proper as possible. (Y/N)’s eyes grew bigger when her eyes met his. He once again was taken aback by her beauty. Her eyes were a powerful emerald green matching similarly to the color of her brother's tunic, but brighter. Her mouth fell slightly agape when she realized who it was. The eyes were a dead give away that he was in fact a witcher, but once she saw the silver medallion that rested on his chest, she knew.
Jaskier nodded his head for Geralt to walk forward and he did, his footsteps were light, his pace slow and steady as he walked closer to the royal family. (Y/N)’s hand gently covered her mouth in excitement. Her eyes flickering to her brother who grinned at her.
“A bit of an early birthday gift.” He winked. Once Geralt was closer to the group Jaskier turned so he could introduce them, at his sister's side. All eyes were on him. Even the few people who were still seated at the table were looking at him. He started to feel a bit more uneasy. He started to remember how far away his swords were if he needed them. This alone was beginning to make him panic. He was not used to being welcomed into royal courts unless it was specifically for a hunt.
“This is Geralt of Rivia, one of the most feared, renowned, and skilled Witcher’s the content has to offer. And also my best friend.”
Geralt's eyes were back on (Y/N)’s, his worries dropped more when she smiled brightly at him. Her eyes gleamed.
Geralt bowed his head to the three of them, “ it is an absolute pleasure to meet you, your highnesses.” (Y/N) was nearly blown over by the sultry sound of his voice. She had only heard stories of the witcher. Never see him for herself and definitely had never heard him speak. She never expected a monster hunter to be as handsome as he was. She admired every feature he had. Her eyes fixating on his chiseled jawline, the light gray stubble across his chin and cheeks.
“My, what a pleasure it is to meet such a famed warrior as yourself Geralt!” The king spoke before (Y/N) could, which she was happy about as she did not trust her voice to not waver at his beauty in that moment.
“You my dear are very popular around here. Your stories are legendary. The school children even host yearly plays, Reenacting your most beloved stories.” (Y/N)’s mother added her finger pointing light hardly at Geralt. Her hand came out gracefully from her side to shake the Witcher’s hand. He gently took it, a small smile pulling at the corners of his lips. His attention returned to (Y/N).
“I’m terribly sorry I’m the birthday gift from your brother this year.” She shook her head almost as soon as the words left his mouth.
“Do not be sorry Geralt-'' the way she said his name made him feel as though he could keel over. “I would like to thank you, for protecting my brother for the years you have. He never skips on his gratitude for you in his letter to me. For that we are all eternally grateful for you.” She reached her hand out. Geralt wasted no time in grabbing her hand, shaking it gently. He was dying inside, but he couldn't let her or anyone else see. He took a gentle step towards her, his head lowering softly, his soft lips were placed on the back of her small hand. The small action made the young girls' faces burn red. Her eyes flicked to her brother who smugly smiled, knowing danm well his gift was going to take the cake.
“Well, you both should come join us, we just started eating.” The king said with a smile, with a quick wave of his hand two more places we set.
(Y/N) gently removed her hand from Geralt’s. Walking towards the table, both men in tow. As she reached her spot she moved her plate and glass to the middle seat that had been prepared, leaving Jaskier a seat next to their mother and Geralt a seat next to her. They all sat and waited as food was served to them. (Y/N) could feel Geralt watching her as she ate, her brother deep in conversation with her parents about his most recent travels. But she wasnt listening. Her attention was only on the man seated to her left. She looked over at the man, eyed him up and down then turned to her brother. For the first time she noticed how ugly their attire was.
“Gods Jaskier who dressed you two?” She asked as she sipped her orange juice. Both men looked at her. Jaskier looked a bit hurt and Geralt only snorted.
“I told him the clothes were horrendous.” Geralt said beside the young woman making her giggle. The sound made his heart beat faster. This was also when he realized how sensibly everyone else in the room was dressed, and how much they stood out. (Y/N) was in a thin white cotton dress, it was around knee length and a light sweater was on her shoulders. Her mother and father dressed similarly. Their clothes looking normal, comfortable.
“Oh my dear brother. What have you done to the poor witcher.” She laughed, turning her attention to him. She could see how uncomfortable the clothes made him. The vest was way too tight and he was practically bursting out of his pants, not that she minded, she gladly enjoyed the view.
“He is torturing me. That's what.” Geralt scoffed and she couldn't help but giggle again.
“You're so dramatic Geralt it's truly not that bad.” Her head flicked to her brother.
“Jaskier don't be rude.” She tutted him like a mother, it made Geralt snort under his breath as he took a bite of his eggs. She stood and walked behind him. He was stiff at her movements.
“Do you mind?” Her fingers were on the strings of the vest. He shook his head no and she quickly untied the tight strings, and it fell from his shoulders. She took it off and handed it to one of the maids
“You can burn that horridly ugly thing.” She said as she sat back down.
“I do not remember you being so rude, little sister.” Jaskier quipped.
“What I think is rude is how you made sure you got the more presentable clothing and dressed your poor friend in those horrendous colors. Have you seen his pants, Jaskier?? It's a miracle he can still breath.” Her eyes looked towards the witcher who was already looking at her with a cocky smirk on his face, glad she was putting Jaskier in his place for the ugly outfit choice.
“I can take you to the seamstress later today, if you’d like Geralt.” Her smile was like a drug.
“I’d appreciate that m'lady.” He said softly.
“And I can show you around the city, both of you. But in return I would like to hear some of your stories, first hand if that’s doable.”
“That sounds like a reasonable trade.” Geralt quipped back.
“Then it's a date, Witcher.”
“A date it is.”

Yandere Pillar men x reader who doesn't want their baby
A/N: What would happen if the pillar men made their mate have a baby that they didn't want and their mate didn't want anything to do with the baby. Like they won't breastfeed, look, talk, or hold the baby.
WARNING!!!! :Forced pregnancy, slight child neglect , abuse(On wamuu's part), Suicide attempt (santana's part) This is kinda sad and depressing, so I'm sorry in advance. My next few posts will be wholesome
Kars
He will not tolerate any disrespect to his newborn even if you are the mother. During your pregnancy, he tolerated you not wanting to touch your stomach or look at it, but he thought that after the little one was born, you would have changed. oh boy was he wrong.
When he held up the baby for you to look at them and for the new baby to feed on your milk, you closed your eyes and turned your head and body away from the two of them. "You dare turn your body away from me and our child? The life we made together." "You wanted the baby, I didn't." You said as tears stream down your face.
If he was actually kind to you and didn't force you to have a baby, then maybe, just maybe, you would be a little happier about the situation.
As you wish, you could just slip into a deep sleep, he grabbed you with his free hand and turned you to face him. You kept your eyes closed as you didn't want to look at both of them. It was silent and you didn't hear him say or do anything as he put his hand on your head and then everything went black.
He didn't kill, you made you pass out for a little bit while he could let his little one have their milk in peace. He was very disappointed in you, but he knows you will come around sooner or later. Even if he has to make you pass out every time until you understand.
Esidisi
He was in tears when you refuse to hold the life you two created. He tried to put the baby into your arms only for you to move away from him. " Darling... the baby needs their mother." He said as the baby started to cry. "I will not hold that thing. I didn't want it." You said moving further away from him.
This only sent him into a silent rage. He put the wailing infant on the bed and started to walk slowly towards you. He understands maybe you weren't prepared for a baby, but this was the ultimate gift for both of your love. You should be happy that someone like him decided to give you his seed.
As he walked towards you he showed his boiling veins as they leaked a small amount of blood. This was the only way he could get you to do as he said. He wrapped the veins around your arm and raised his temperature, it wasn't hot enough to burn your skin off, but it is going to leave a nasty mark. He told you that you are going to take care and love the baby either you like it or not.
He pulled you back to where the baby laid still crying as he forced you to sit by the baby. He picked up the baby and put them in your arms. You didn't even want to look at the small bundle in your arms. You had a plan to escape from this hell hole, but now there is no way away you are leaving now.
Wamuu
He was heartbroken that you didn't want the baby, but he also understood that you were not totally prepared for one either. However, he expected you to at least warm up to the baby a little bit by now. "Y/n the baby is hungry again." He said holding the whining infant as they made grabby hands at you. "Then I guess YOU should feed them." You said not even glance away from your book. He sighed as he goes to a shelf and grabs a bottle he already had prepared and gave it to the baby.
This can not continue. A baby needs a mother and a father to have a good balance relationship. And he is the only one who is putting his energy into the little. Since they were born, he has done everything, hell, he even named the little one. You haven't touched or held the baby and Wamuu refuses to force you hold the baby because he is scared that you would drop the baby on purpose or something.
He has address his concerns to Kars, who just told him to beat you into submission...but surely he couldn't do that. Not to his beloved mate. Well...he thought he couldn't at least, but that all chanced one day.
He was out training near the house and he left the baby in their crib because he knew even though you didn't want them, you wouldn't harm them in the slightest. That's what he thought anyways...
As he was training, he heard a blood curdling scream from the baby. Thinking the worse had happen, he ran quickly into the house and up the stairs, only to find you sleeping peaceful and the baby on the floor near their crib with a bruise forming on their head. He quickly picked them up and went to Kars so he could give them a check up to make sure nothing was broken or injured.
While Kars was busy while the wailing infant, Wamuu marched back down to the room and roughly woke you up. You could barely understand what he was saying as he yelled and shook you, but what you could understand is that the baby fell from the crib. You rolled your eyes as you tried to stand your ground by telling him that, that had nothing to do with you and if he was really concern for that baby's health, then he would have took them outside with them.
That's when he snapped. He slapped you hard across the face making you fall to the ground, holding your bloody cheek. You tried to get away from him, but he grabbed your foot and dragged you back to him. He then continued to slap and hit you while he degraded you into a bloody mess. After about five minutes, he stopped and lifted you off the ground and onto the bed.
As he was cleaning you off, he told you that if you didn't start caring or at least acting like you far for the life you both have created he would beat you even worse. From that day on, he made you hold and feed the baby while he was around. Kars was proud of him because he was finally acting like an adult, but Wamuu was the least happy about it. He was upset that he went that far on you...but at least he was getting the happy family he wanted right...
Santana
He sighed as he looked at you sitting motionless by a window. That's where you would always be. Every since you both find out that you were going to have a baby. Santana was very excited about because he was going to have something none of the other pillar men had and because he was curious about the baby would look. Would they have his horns or rib bones? Would they be able to understand stuff easily like him? Who's hair or eye color would they have? Some many question filled his mind as he thought about your child.
However you were far from excited. You barely liked him, you weren't ready for a child or anything for that matter. You tried to tell him how you felt about it, but he didn't care. "No...y-you are having a b-baby." He told you as you tried to voice your opinion for the fifth time today.
Your pregnancy was anything but smooth. Santana was trying a please you as much as he could, but you were being very stubborn. Any food that he brought you, you would just put into the trash can as soon as he left. He didn't even catch on to this until he saw how skinny and fragile you were becoming. Not wanting you to be to stressed, he scowled you lightly as he brought you some more food, but this time he fed into you, which was another battle. However as you were getting closer to your due date, it got harder and harder to fight against him...so you didn't. You let him feed you, help you around, and even cuddle you. Santana was very happy. He thought you were finally seeing it his way. Oh but how wrong was he.
As soon as the baby was born you did not want to look or hold them. The only thing you did was put your hands over your ears to try and drown out the cries of the little one. You did this until you passed out. This is when santana let the baby nurse from you. This was the only time the baby could nurse in peace. Many times Santana would have to knock you out so the baby could feed in peace without listening to your high pitch cries.
Even though he could see it, all of this was taken a tole on you mental and physically. One day, as Santana was out hunting you slowly went to the window and sat down by it. It's been so long since you have been outside that you almost for forgot what it look like....what it felt like. You opened the window, feeling the light breeze on your face. You could almost feel the sun on your skin, you wanted to feel it again. You wanted peace and happiness and you were intending to get it. You through your legs over the side of the window along with the rest of your body. As you were falling, you couldn't help but smile as you thought you were finally free. However that thought was short lived as you feel right into the arms of your "mate".
He didn't say anything as he walked you back up stairs as you also stayed silent. If he knew that this was the kind of reaction you were going to have from doing what your body is designed to do, he would have waited til you were fully submissive or at least until you accepted him as he mate.
He didn't hit or yell at you, he just out you in the bed and kissed you on your cheek. You are not the one he fell in love with a year ago. You are only the shell of them, but don't worry. He intends on making things right. He will make sure his family is happy...no matter what.

Hello! Last week I asked if you'd be interested in some scrapped Carlos drabbles from a fic I don't think I will ever finish. They're a bit heavy/angsty because I wrote them to explore different stages in Carlos's life. So here is the first one, about a ten year old Carlos. Enjoy! 💕
The Right Instincts
Word count: 722
Divider can be found here
Carlos scrambled to his room, trying hard not to let the tears break until he made it to privacy. He knew he wasn’t allowed to slam his door, so he settled for leaving it ajar behind him, before grabbing his worn and beloved Kique the Koala from his bed and crawling beneath his desk. He clutched Kique close and began to hiccup, tears already streaming down his red-cheeked face.
Bonnie nosed her way in, trailing after Carlos and curling up beside him to offer her comfort. Bonnie was technically Ana’s dog—a bribe for no longer being the baby of the family—but she’d grown up with Carlos, as she came into the family not too long before Carlos was born. They were both ten now, but for a miniature poodle, that meant she was toeing her way into old age. She always liked Carlos, because he didn’t try to force her into dresses or chonguitas like his sisters did. She curled up and slept in his bed beside him most nights. And he always gave her his table scraps when Papá wasn’t looking.
Carlos petted her, clammy hands roaming through her white curls, trying to calm his tears and stay quiet so his dad wouldn’t come in here and yell at him some more.
“Hi, Chica,” he whispered. “Thanks for coming to check on me.”
“Carlitos?” The door was pushed open, and all Carlos could see were his dad’s heavy boots trudging forward.
He watched his dad’s legs bring him closer to Carlos, heard the groaning of the mattress as he sank onto the edge of Carlos’s bed. “Come here, son.”
Carlos looked down at Bonnie, who looked up at him with her big, brown eyes. She licked his arm as he crawled past her, out from beneath his desk, Kique regretfully left behind on the floor. He didn’t want to get yelled at for being a baby, too.
“Stand up,” his father commanded, and Carlos stood, refusing to look anywhere but his dad’s eyes. “Mírame, son.”
Carlos bit his lip and met his father’s eyes.
“I didn’t teach you self defense so you can go around punching your classmates.”
Carlos bit his lip harder, so it wouldn’t quiver. “He was a bully, daddy,” he mumbled.
“Speak up.”
Carlos swallowed. “He was a bully.”
Gabriel sighed. “I understand that, son, I do, but you still can't go around hitting people.”
“He was making fun of my friend, Papá! I was defending my friend, like you taught me!”
“No, Carlos,” Gabriel shook his head. “Words don’t hurt people. Your actions do. You can’t hit someone just because they said something mean to you.”
Carlos’s balled-up fists shook at his sides. He knew he was the one being punished, sent home early from school, his dad’s disappointment like gasoline he felt being poured over his veins, but he knew he wasn’t wrong for defending someone else. His dad had taught him that too, after all. He was used to being the kid that got picked on in class, so when Ricky Hernandez turned on Jake, Carlos knew he couldn’t let anyone else be treated the way he was.
“You’re no troublemaker, Carlos,” Gabriel said, and Carlos always knew he wasn’t. That wasn’t what this was. He just didn’t know how to make his dad see it like he did.
“I’m sorry,” Carlos whispered, just wishing to placate his father so he would go away.
“You’re damn right you’re sorry, mijo. You are going to sit at this desk and write an apology letter to Ricky Hernandez, to your teacher, to your principal, and to your mamá, because you will be telling her what you did when she gets home.”
Carlos tried not to shake. His mom being mad at him would be ten million times worse, he hadn’t even considered her reaction yet. He felt more tears prickle behind his eyes and he dug his short fingernails further into his palms, trying hard to steel himself. He wouldn’t cry in front of his dad, that was a punishable weakness he couldn’t afford at this point. Not when his tears were brought on by his own actions. He wasn’t sorry for hitting Ricky, but he was sorry to be in this mess now. He was sorry for himself, and maybe that was the worst punishment of all.

MC wants to leave
Requested from imamonster456
Summary: After the brothers found out MC was Lilith’s descendant, MC slowly started feeling more like a replacement instead of just being themselves. Loneliness started to consume them, and one day they finally decide to just leave, without consulting any of the brothers before.
Warnings: Angst, cursing
Characters: 7 brothers, GN!MC
