hiii what's your favorite aa case? or top 3 if you cant pick lol
HMMMMMM,,, you're right i can't pick LOL,, I think my favorite would probably be Bridge to the Turnabout. It's a really definitive case, I think, just in the way it wraps up the whole trilogy, but especially with a focus on the Fey clan, Dahlia's arc, and Godot's. I'm also a BIG fan of how it leans into the supernatural. I have my grievances with it for sure,, (i.e. I will never forget the physics of that pendulum LOL) but I was never really into ace attorney for the crime solving, personally. It's fun, but I'm almost wholly here for the story and characters. And so, yeah, I just loved seeing it be a satisfying ended of everything we've seen from Dahlia and Godot (and Mia) in the rest of T&T. Also EVERYONE'S THERE?? It's like the Smash Ultimate of OG Trilogy cases. I like Franziska tagging along a lot and playing as Edgeworth. Give me more fan service capcom lmfao.
If I'm NOT being basic af and picking 3-5 tho,, (I'm also going to ignore other final cases, cuz those tend to be my favorite), my favorite case THEN, is 2-2: Reunion, and Turnabout. IK SHOCKER THAT I LIKE THE FEY CASE LOL. I'm a parody of myself. With this one, we get to learn SO MUCH about the Fey clan, and I eat it all up. I love meeting Pearl sm, I love Mimi Miney, honestly I really like Turner Grey and the fact that you talk to the victim a little bit. The whole hospital backstory is horrifying. OH omg wait Dr. Hotti is in this case huh? PFFTT i completely blocked it in my memory. Well, no case can be perfect I guess 💀 MIA'S PSYCHE LOCKES BREAK MY HEART EVERY TIME I THINK ABOUT THEM? Franziska's debut?!?!?!? Very good case to me I enjoy it a lot.

AU set during the show time where Nigel's parents leave for a week to visit families in England and Nigel didn't want to follow them because he wanted to """play""" with friends, so they hire a babysitter to watch him over while they're away.
Nigel doesn't trust this teen one bit, she seems too nice, allowing him to do whatever he wants and being kind and friendly.
Turns out this is a TND operative, Numbuh 1-2, called Penelope Doe.
Will Penny be able to win the kid's heart so he can trust her? (spoiler, they go on a mission together and in the end Nigel doesn't want her to go away EVER!!!)

1 Sam 28, 1.2
(LU17)
1 In those days the Philistines gathered their forces for war, to fight against Israel. And Achish said to David, “Understand that you and your men are to go out with me in the army.” 2 David said to Achish, “Very well, you shall know what your servant can do.” And Achish said to David, “Very well, I will make you my bodyguard for life.” (ESV)
Sooo, das ist die random Stelle. Who the fuck is Achisch?
Let's see....
"Achisch ist ein philistäischer Stadtkönig von Gat [...]" (wibilex, Achisch)
Alright, he's king of the philistine city Gat. I know that David spent some time with the Philistines after he had to flee from Saul, but some context is needed.
Chpater 27 says the following: David fled to Gat, thinking he could escape Saul there - which he did. He went there with his family and 600 men and for some reason Achisch gave him the city Ziklag, where they lived from then on. A total of a year and four months! In this time David raided nomadic tribes in Negev* while telling his new king that he had raided regions in Judah. Instead of fighting against his own people, he protected them. Meanwhile Achisch was in the dark about that and thought David was losing any support he still had in his homeland. Sorry to break it to you, Achisch, but trusting that David would be loyal to you because of that...well. He did and that leads us to chapter 28.
1 In those days the Philistines gathered their forces for war, to fight against Israel. And Achish said to David, “Understand that you and your men are to go out with me in the army.” 2 David said to Achish, “Very well, you shall know what your servant can do.” And Achish said to David, “Very well, I will make you my bodyguard for life.”
Whoa, whole new perspercitve on that one. Achisch wants to go to war with Israel and thinks its a good idea to take David and his men with him? But I guess if you thought he was already plundering his own people, going to war against them doesnt seem like all that big of a jump.
But this. “Very well, you shall know what your servant can do.” This reads a whole lot differnt. This is a threat. And Achisch want to make David his bodyguard. For life. wtf
What happens then? I get the strongest sense of déjà-vu: The Philistines gathers their army, Israel gathers theirs, but Samuel is dead and this time there is no David to defeat Goliath. So Saul lets a necromancer summon Samuels spirit, who tells him that he didnt listen, Israels army is going to be taken by the Philistines and Saul and his sons will be dead the following day.
The lords of the Philistines meanwhile seem smarter than Achisch and don't want David to go with them, lest he turn against them in the middle of the battle. Achisch has to relent, though he still trusts David.
David returns to Ziklag, but plottwist, the Amalekites** destroyed the whole town and took everyone prisoner. In their anger and sorrow the people who are with David want to stone him. But they find the Amalekites and get every person and possesion back.
In the meantime the Israeli army disperses in every direction and Saul and his sons get killed by the Philistines, which is a real shame, because his son Jonatan was a real good one.
And also Davids friend - or rather like a brother to him. Which is why these news hit him really hard and he mourns for Saul and David.
But this is already the first chapter of the second book Samuel. David becomes king of Judah and the story goes on, but I'll have to make a cut here.
David never got to fight in the war Achisch wants him to be a part of. And though at first it seems like that's the end for it for David (cause he's got other problems in Ziklag) this battle between the Philistines and Israel proves to be a turning point in his story. Wibilex says "alle Achisch-Erzählungen in 1Sam [1Sam 21;27,1-28,2] stehen vor dem Problem, den Aufenthalt Davids bei den Philistern, den Erzfeinden Israels, und sein Vasallenverhältnis zu einem Philisterkönig erklären und rechtfertigen zu müssen" (roughly: the Achisch stories in 1Sam stand before the problem of having to explain Davids stay with the archenemies of the Israelites, the Philistines), but I'd really be interested to know what David meant, when he said: “Very well, you shall know what your servant can do.” It's redundant in the following chapters, because Achisch WON'T see what his apparent servant can do. Maybe I'll come back to this and read some commentary about it. Generally I'm not yet able to really build a picture of Davids character, because on the one hand he is this guy that played the lyre and the hero that defeated Goliath with a slingshot and on the other hand he is this king that fights battles and kills without mercy. Bathseba. And still he is a human that cries and mourns his people and friends. Further research into the culture of the old Israel seems to be in order.
*Negev: A region between Gaza and the Dead Sea in the north and the Red Sea in the South. **Amalekites: "Über die Amalekiter lässt sich historisch wenig sagen. Im Alten Testament gelten sie als räuberisches Nomadenvolk im Süden Palästinas und Erbfeind Israels [...]" (wibilex, Amalek/Amalekiter) (a predatory nomadic people in the south of Palestine and hereditary enemy of Israel)
