Endurance matches in MK have always been tricky because they get 2 life bars to your one and the difficulty seems to ramp up..

I was attempting a 1CC with Sub-Zero tonight and made it to the third endurance match on one credit but then lost there

Last time I beat it I used $1.50 worth of credits

Some time I'd like to record myself doing 1CCs of Mortal Kombat and Killer Instinct for YouTube

Maybe it'll be even easier for me to do a 1CC once I've upgraded the control panel components to industrias Lorenzo 😅🕹️💜

Had some stupid deaths in stage 3 and stage 5 but overall pretty good. Stage 4 is hell and I don't like the final boss's ramming attack. Fantastic game. Time to grind the zeroranger 1cc next

On the subject of speedrunning, I really hate how we idolize people who are good at video games because if there is any thing pizza tower p ranks taught me it's that games are so fun when you try to test yourself and when people see things that are completely unreasonable for them like bullet hell superplays or rhythm game full combos or world record speedruns, they tend to ignore those because they seem to think that there isn't a middle ground between "beating metroid in 12 minutes" and "playing metroid in such a way that you can get to the end in a timely manner without dying" and so people never really experience the actual gameplay depth of things and when you keep playing games the same way it's just bound to get more boring at some point whereas getting better and experiencing that game to it's fullest can keep the game fun forever

People: Nahh speedrunning Metroid games is too hard! And going for 100% item at the same time is just too ridiculous!

Me, who is by no means an actual speedrunner and who can't even pull off a mockball: I dunno guys don't you think you should put in some actual effort into it before saying such things? :P

Ok ok don't get me wrong, everyone enjoys stuff for their own reasons yadda yadda and that's good

But I get peeved when people talk about how "impossible" it is to speedrun Metroid games maybe because they think they have to pull off the kind of crazy shit speedrunners do on YT when that's absolutely not necessary, which strikes me as people not bothering to put in the effort into something that's been a part of the series since day one (which is fine) and then talking like it's the games' fault (which is not, I can't play DMC games doing big expert combos for instance but that's on me not the games)

...especially if it's done to prop up the Prime games which, even from someone who likes them despite their flaws, have really shallow gameplay if we're being real here once you see beyond all the immersion and atmosphere precisely due to how slow and clunky they can be and how simplistic and bare bones the movement is

TBH I feel this probably needs to be said in this day and age especially..

Retro gamers.. You're still a "real" gamer even if you don't 1CC all your games..

Hell, I don't.. and I still find it difficult to 1CC my favorite games that I have endless practice in!

1CC means 1 credit clear.. in other words beating an arcade game or any game that has a credits system without ever continuing..

I am absolutely getting better at this game. Just sucks that it's so hard to practice anything past stage 1. Went into Magician using 3 continues and then he ate like 4 of them 💀💀💀

The gun reload change I made and sticking to the same route has been helping
