Ryan’s older sisters (before they deemed themselves too old and cool to talk to their little brother and the friend that was always attached at his hip) claimed making shapes out of clouds is a childhood rite of passage. Lying in the grass on a sunny afternoon, belly aching with laughter, Min finds he’s inclined to agree with them.

He and Ryan lie flat on their backs, the wild grass tickling their exposed cheeks and ankles, hands intertwined between them. Fluffy white clouds float slowly through the blue sky, breezing gently past as Ryan and Min shape them into characters and tales. The air is rife with the joyous, infectious laughter that accompanies such a comfortable spring afternoon.

Ryan raises his free arm, pointing. “That one looks like a guitar.”

“You think every cloud looks like a guitar,” Min chuckles good-naturedly. “Have some creativity.”

“Hey, I’m only telling you what I see,” Ryan retorts, grinning. “Maybe it’s a sign. Maybe the universe is trying to tell us my parents should buy me a guitar.”

Min huffs out a laugh. “I’m not the one you need to convince.”

“Hmm.” Ryan turns away, gazing at the sky. “It’ll happen someday, though. I’m gonna get a guitar, and you’ll play your mini-synth, and we’ll perform concerts together!”

Min glances to the side, where, in his bag is abandoned next to Ryan’s, his mini-synth waits. “Until then, you can always sing,” he offers.”

“Pfft, I’ll sing anyway,” Ryan says, waving a hand, carefree and exuberant. “I just want to play as soon as possible.”

Min reclines, tucking his elbows behind his head. “You’ll get it eventually. You never give up when you set your mind to something.”

Ryan glances away, the slightest hint of pink tinging his cheeks. “But you’ll help me convince my parents, won’t you? They like you.”

“I’ll do my best,” Min promises, the epitome of seriousness. “We should work out a business plan.”

Ryan rolls over to face Min, propping his head up on the palm of his hand. “Like what? I’m just gonna… play the guitar.”

“Like what your practice schedule will be, and how you’ll take care of it,” Min says, tapping his fingers. “That’s what my parents had me do for viola.”

“I’m just gonna practice all the time,” Ryan promises seriously. “I’ll become a master at guitar.”

“You’ll need to be a bit more specific,” Min warns. “But I’ll help you with that. When we’re done, you’ll stand a much better chance!”

“Thanks, Min!” Ryan rolls over to tackle his best friend in a hug. Startled, Min lets out a squawk of surprise and rolls away, shaking with quiet laughter. Ryan wraps his arms around Min and starts tickling his sides, which only makes him laugh harder. “You’re the best!”

“You’re the worst,” Min wheezes out between peals of involuntary laughter. He finally shakes Ryan off and rolls away, crouching with his fingers wiggling threateningly.

Ryan backs up and pulls himself into a kneeling position, defensive except for his face-splitting grin. As always, he’s the first in motion, leaping towards Min with his hands outstretched and a face rife with amusement. Min rolls with him, laughing.

They tussle for a few minutes, giggling like the schoolchildren they are, until Min accidentally knocks Ryan’s glasses off of his head. They slip away from each other while Ryan finds his glasses and Min stands up to brush strands of grass off his clothes. Inexplicably, Min finds himself missing the warmth of Ryan’s easy, thoughtless touches.

The moment is over as soon as it began, with Ryan grinning at him behind his newly repositioned glasses. Min forgets the thought as soon as Ryan scoots over to him and lies down at his side, attention once again drawn to the sky. Min sits down, engrossed with his friend and their game.

Ryan turns to him with a toothy grin. “Well, Min? It’s your turn. Do you see any good clouds?”

“Hm.” Min leans back, resting his weight on his wrists. His fingers subconsciously knot among the strands of grass. After a moment of deliberation, he raises a hand. “That one looks like a bell, don’t you think?”

Ryan twists to see where Min’s pointing. “A bell? I don’t see it.”

“Like the kinds you find at hotels,” Min explains. “A… concierge bell, I think they’re called?”

Ryan scrunches up his nose, deep in thought. “Oh, yeah! I guess it kind of does.” He flops down on his back and scrutinizes the remaining clouds. “Huh, I think that one looks like a cat.”

Min smiles gently, content. “Yeah, I think you’re right.” He breaks out into a giggle. “And that one looks like a giant caterpillar!”

“Heh, cat, caterpillar,” Ryan chuckles. “Maybe the cat will eat the caterpillar!”

Min rolls his eyes good-naturedly. “Hey, use your eyes. The caterpillar cloud is way bigger than the cat cloud.”

“So?” Ryan hums, crossing his arms with mirthful petulance. “All that means is the cat is the underdog. I bet they could do it if they tried.”

Min snorts. “That’s pretty unrealistic, but I guess so is a caterpillar bigger than a cat.”

“Yes!” Ryan pumps his fist up and down with far too much enthusiasm than the situation requires, but Min only finds it endearing. Ryan laughs with euphoria, and Min finds himself giggling along. Ryan’s laugh has always been infectious.

“Fine, you win,” Min says with faux petulance, letting his back slide back down onto the grass. “Like this would ever happen in real life.”

Ryan grins. “It would be a great album concept.”

“Maybe,” Min hums. “You should start writing those down for when we can produce albums.”

“You say that like I don’t already have a notebook filled with song lyrics,” Ryan hmphs, crossing his arms. “Please, Min! It’s like you don’t know me at all.”

Min snorts. “But are they any good?”

“Maaaaaaaaybe,” Ryan sing-songs, turning to face Min with a mischievous grin. “You’ll just have to read them.”

Min beams. “As soon as you’ll show them to me.”

Ryan laughs in triumph and jumps up, running up and down the hill. His loose jacket flutters behind him in the wind like a cinematic cape. From his place on the ground, Min watches him fondly, smiling.

After they’re all tuckered out, Min and Ryan retreat to the top of the hill. The afternoon is slipping away, and the first hints of sunset’s gold are starting to bleed into the sky. The clouds they so excitedly played with, once a puffy white, darken into greys and oranges and pinks.

Ryan and Min sit shoulder to shoulder, their knees pulled up to their chests, to watch the sunset. The sun glows a brilliant golden, illuminating the sky in peals of pink and orange.

It’s beautiful, that much is undeniable. Min has always loved the soft, gradual fade of day into night and night into day.

He likes them all the more for how many sunsets he’s watched with Ryan. Ryan has always loved watching the explosion of vibrant colors across the sky. He and Ryan have watched countless sunsets together, at the end of their playdates and joint family outings. They always make an effort to find each other as the sun goes down.

Without realizing it, Min breaks his gaze from the sunset to Ryan’s face. His soft skin is illuminated with the fiery glow of the sun, fading yet incandescent. Ryan’s lips are slightly parted in an expression of wonder Min is all too familiar with, and his eyes are similarly wide and shining. It never goes away when watching the sunset, even after every one of their ten years.

Ryan is beautiful, Min realizes. He always wears his heart on his sleeve, but here, enraptured by the beauty of nature and in the company of his closest friend, he’s open in a way he rarely lets himself be. Min could bask in their companionship forever, and let the coveted sunset slip by.

Ryan suddenly glances back at Min. The moment is broken, except it still feels just as comfortable and awe-inspiring as it did before Ryan noticed him. Ryan offers him a small smile, and Min returns it in kind.

After a moment, they both return to watching the sunset, but they lean closer. Their shoulders brush.

“We need to go home soon,” Min says softly, not taking his eyes off of the setting sun. “It’s almost dinnertime.”

Ryan hums discontentedly and drops his head onto Min’s shoulder. Min’s face heats up, although he’s not sure why.

“Awwwww, Miiiiiiiin,” Ryan groans, half-jokingly. “Can’t we stay out here a little longer?”

Min hesitates for a moment, then sighs, standing up and brushing bits of grass and dirt off of his pants. “No, sorry. As cool as that would be… you know how my parents get.”

“Yeah, I do.” Ryan shakes his head, half to himself, then forces a laugh. “I love going to dinner at your house, Min. Your parents are so nice!” Min shakes his head, laughing. “Yeah, well, your family is always so fun and energetic. It’s rad!”

“Haha, yeah.” Ryan turns away. “I’m sure my parents will be happy to have you over for dinner.”

Min turns and offers a hand to Ryan, who gratefully takes it and lets Min pull him to his feet with a grunt. “Same with mine. It’s so nice that our families are such good friends.”

Ryan smiles. “Yeah! It’s like we were made to be best friends! Just like we were made to be musicians together!”

Min’s responding smile is soft and affectionate. “I’m sure we would have found each other eventually.”

“Yeah, but we wouldn’t have known each other now ,” Ryan rebukes. His serious expression softens into something fond. “I like spending time with you now.”

Min grins back. “Me too.” He offers Ryan his hand, and his friend gleefully takes it without a second thought. Their hands are grubby and dirty from playing in the grass all afternoon, but neither seem to mind.

The walk back to their houses (well, Ryan’s house, since it’s closer) is spent mostly in comfortable silence. Min and Ryan are chattiest in each other’s company (which is saying something, since Ryan’s fairly talkative on his quietest days) but occasionally they lapse into a silent rhythm, fully enjoying each other’s presence.

At the edge of Ryan’s house, Ryan gives Min a quick, tight hug, too fast for Min to really process it before it’s over. Ryan peels away and sprints down his driveway, turning to wave enthusiastically to Min and nearly tripping over a potted plant in his haste.

Min giggles and waves back. For some reason, after the door shuts and Ryan’s disappeared from view, he lingers at the foot of Ryan’s driveway. His hands rest in his pockets, with his weight balanced on the balls of his feet as if about to turn away. Inexplicably, he can’t quite manage to leave just yet. He remains as if in a trace, staring after his friend.

A car drives by, and Min jolts. Glancing at the sun dipping precariously below the horizon, he spins on his heel and begins the walk back towards home.

Ryan does everything big, with presence and style. He’s always flashy and energetic. Min knows well how much Ryan would love to spend their after-school afternoons parading around the neighborhood, serenading anyone who would care to listen. And they do, sometimes, when Ryan can rope Min along. But it’s always been the quiet afternoons, the ones that are just him and Ryan, that Min enjoys the most.

As Min makes his way down the street, smiling softly to himself, Ryan watches him from his window. The sibling Ryan shares his room with is still kicking a ball around outside, thankfully, and isn’t present to tease Ryan for tracking his friend down the street.

Ryan likes the exciting afternoons, sure, loves spending his entire day in a whirlwind of activity. But as long as his time is spent with Min, he’s content.

All they both want to do is enjoy these seemingly endless sunny afternoons in each other’s company.

Min is too realistic and Ryan too ambitious to claim these days will last forever. Yet during this stretch of childhood, sometimes it seems like they’ll go on like this every single day, playing on the hill behind the school.

Neither of them find an issue with it.

I find them utterly adorable and I’ve been sitting on a few ideas with them for a while. I decided to finally put some of my thoughts into writing. This is the first part to one of the many mini stories I think of as I’m trying to sleep at night, and it just so happens to be pretty ~angsty~. What can I say, the quarantine has me in my feelings. “Rookie Mistakes” (part 1/2)

They are fucked, royally fucked. As much as they both have trouble admitting it, they are in deep shit.

How could he have let this happen? How could either of them have let this happen? How could a routine stake out of a suspected hideout (a warehouse of course because villains aren’t creative or original) turn into something so out of his control? He is the fucking number two hero and his badass wife is number fucking eight. They own their own hero agency. They literally train rookies. Only rookies would make these kinds of mistakes. Fucking extras. How could they walk right into a trap? Are villains getting smarter? No. The hero’s who assigned them to this god forsaken mission just underestimated the powers of the new recruits in the this damn villain organization they are investigating. This fucker they are facing is totally not who they were expecting. A quirk that creates large puffs of air from blinking seems harmless until the “puffs” are actually razor sharp blades that are deadly accurate and fast as fuck. Well, atleast the fucking idiots were able to recognize his quirk comes from his fucking eyes! Fucking way to go! He should have done his own damn research. He and Ochako were completely blindsided and now they are scrambling to dodge him.

Once again, they are fucked.

They need to come up with a game plan and fast. Katsuki needs to find a way to pull Ochako away for a second so they can figure this shit out. As he just barely weaves out of the way from yet another blade of air flying past his face, he makes a split decision. Thinking on his feet, he sets off a chain reaction of smoke bombs in a move he calls “smoke screen” and tugs his wife behind a crate. The villain quickly moves to place his dumb looking, bulky sunglasses over his eyes and disappears into the black cloud.

They both take a moment to collect themselves before Ochako speaks up.

“This is bad, Katsuki. We need a plan or we are seriously fucked.” Ochako whispers as she peaks her head out from behind the crate to scope out the area still covered in a plume of smoke.

“No shit, Cheeks.” He whispers back. She glares at him briefly, letting his out burst slide knowing he is just frustrated with their performance thus far. “Any and all bright ideas are welcome.”

She sighs, “Ideas are still formulating. But, did you notice that his attacks don’t happen every time he blinks? Either he is controlling when they happen, or they are random.”

“Great.” Katsuki huffs, joining her in peaking over the crate. “We can’t fucking form a plan until we know if he is actually in control or not. If he isn’t we could take advantage and charge at him. But, if he is we need to strategize so we will be able to dodge and strike him down.”

She is quiet for a second before she responds, “You know, having been your partner since before we starting dating, coupled with the experience of being your wife these past 5 years, it still amazes me that you can actually control your impatience and plan out your attacks. Who could have guessed this from you after UA?”

“Oi. Not the time to be pushing my buttons.”

“You aren’t denying it,” He could hear her smug grin, and it almost made him crack a smile. Almost. “But, with what you said in mind, I think we can actually take advantage of either outcome. I noticed his attacks are linear, he can only target one of us at a time head on. I think our best option is to split up. I’ll take the left and you should take the right side of the floor. That way if he targets one of us, the other can take him down from behind-where he can’t actively project his quirk- before he can turn around.”

Katsuki couldn’t hold back his proud smirk, “Good eyes,” he pauses for a second, “We’ve been married for 6 years in 2 weeks.”

She looks at him briefly to playfully roll her eyes, “Technically, it’s still 5.” She shifts so she can lean her back against the crate and pulls him down to her eye level, all playfulness in her demeanor has shifted to steady focus. He loves when she gets serious.

“I also think he needs those ridiculous glasses to protect his eyes from anything entering them. Since they block his eyes, they must somehow be rigged to stop his quirk. That means if I’m right he can’t use it right now and we should definitely get going before the smoke’s all cleared.”

Her quick plan was definitely their best bet. Guess his gamble paid off in more ways than one. His grin widens at the exciting thought of the tides turning in his favor. He’s ready to kick ass.

“Let’s move.”

With that they nod to each other once and stealthily start moving toward the cloud of now semi disappearing smoke.

Katsuki slowly makes his way through the right side of the plume. Although it’s dissipating, it’s still too thick to see through. He’s grateful that his eyes are no longer sensitive to the burn of smoke after years of training. He sometimes thinks his tear ducts have been burned away after so many high heat explosions, only to remember his tears on his wedding day and when both his kids were born. Man, love has made him soft.

Suddenly he hears the distinct sound of cheap plastic (he blames his parents) falling and skipping across the concrete floor. That could mean only one thing, stupid looking sunglasses. Dumbass must have tripped! He reacts in the speed of a lightning strike, lifting his gauntlet and setting off an ear shattering explosion in the direction of the sound. The force of which blows the remaining screen away.

Lowering his arm, a triumphant smile on his face, pro hero Ground Zero fully expects his villain to be out cold in front of him, ready to be cuffed and sent to prison so he and Ochako could wrap up and get home. He couldn’t be more wrong.

Instead, in front of him stands a concrete pillar with a sizable chunk missing from it. Dust from the debris floats around taunting him. His blood boils.

His smile falls and he quickly turns around to face his opponent already looking at him with a sinister smile and a very dark look in his eye. Dumb sunglasses no longer on his person, thrown as an annoying clever decoy.

He had been fooled into clearing the rest of the smoke with another explosion. And now he is an open target.

“Fuck.” Is all Katsuki can mutter because in the blink of an eye, literally, blades shoot towards him.

“NO! KATSUKI!”

For the first time in Katsuki’s life, time moves in slow motion. He hears only the echos of his wife shrieking his name and his adrenaline pumping blood through his ears. With each beat of his pounding heart, Ochako’s frantic scream fades away until he is left with nothing but himself, this mother fucking villain, and the blades of air rushing toward him. It was as if they were transported somewhere else far away.

Katsuki was a very smart and observant man. These traits helped him become a great, no, a fucking great hero. He knew many things with certainty, two of which he could recognize now. The first blaringly obvious thing he knew was the two razor sharp blades of air barreling towards him were, without a doubt, moving at speed even his lighting fast reflexes wouldn’t be able to react to. There was no way in hell he could dodge them. With that being said, the second thing he knew was that if these blades hit him, which they most certainly would, he was going to die.

As the attack reaches the halfway point between him and his attacker, number 2 hero Ground Zero, Katsuki Bakugo, feels a wave of emotions crash into him that he can’t place. They are emotions so foreign, he wouldn’t be able to find their origin even if they were circled on a map for him. With them come a heavy dose of realization.

It’s over. All his hopes, all his plans for the future will never come to fruition. Being number one hero? Kiss that goodbye. Since he got his quirk he has been working to be at the very top. For years he has put his everything into being a hero. Blood, sweat, even fucking tears have been shead to get him to where he is. But as devastating as that is, it’s nothing is compared to when he thinks of his family.

He will never see his daughters smiling face again. He’ll never hold his son in his arms again. He will never get to tell or show Ochako how much he fucking loves her. Man, he really has gone soft, but his fucking pride or ego or whatever the hell can fuck off. All the people he loves are flashing before his eyes and sending a massive wave of sadness, regret, dread, fear, and, most damning of all, hopelessness, washing over him.

He is terrified and he is going to die.

Suddenly, he is doing the most cowardly thing he has ever done. His eyes are betraying him and beginning to close, not wanting to see his end coming. Not wanting it to be over with such a bright and happy future ahead of him. If he has to accept it, he doesn’t want to watch it leave. He just hopes that Ochako can forgive him and his young children will remember him.

But, just as his eyes are about to shut. They widen in surprise as he feels himself being slowly pushed out of the time warp and physically forced aside.

It’s her, it has to be.

Ochako’s shoulder slams into his side with the force of a freight train. Just as he begins falling he notices a piece of debris, with the help of zero gravity, hurtling towards the villain. It successfully smashes him in the middle of his face definitely breaking his nose and, based on the loud crack, potentially fractures his skull. He drops like a rock before Katsuki hits the ground.

Katsuki’s eyes flick over in time to see the blade hit Ochako. Blood splatters, floating around her as if she’d used her quirk on it. The force of the blow is enough to send her flying a few feet backwards and flip her body over mid air. The horrible sound that resonates after her impact with the floor signals real time again.

On the ground, his hip and shoulder throbbing, Katsuki’s heart is about to burst out of his chest with how fast it’s beating. He’s in shock and can hardly breathe, but he isn’t concerned about himself.

“Cheeks?!” He shoots upright, ignoring the feeling of bruises forming, and turns his head slightly to see his wife laying on her side with her back to him. There is blood along the ground, trailing to the pillar he had hit were a another sizable divot has made its place slashed into it. A small pool is already starting to form beneath her.

“No...no.” He says feebly.

He scrambles across the floor to her, turning her over to see the gash in her side and a split in her forehead from her impact with the floor. The sight hits Katsuki with another horrible hard to process feeling.

“Oh god, please no.” He rasps as he scoops her up and places her into his lap slightly upright so her head rests into the crook of his neck.

One of his hands cradles her head to and the other moves to apply pressure on the wound to her side. Blood sleeps through his gloved fingers. He can feel her breathing faintly against his neck, but that does nothing to ease his rising anxiety. He leans into her, maneuvering his head just above hers so that he can use his finger to press against his ear piece.

“SOMEONE SEND A MEDIC, URAVITY IS DOWN!” He bellows, “I REPEAT, GET YOUR ASSES OVER HERE NOW!”

He let’s go of the button and instantly gets feedback that help is on the way. A small amount of relief washes over him, but his breath is stolen by the sound he hears next.

“Kat-suki?” A weak, garbly voice asks. The voice of an angel.

“Ochako!” A relieved smile creeps on to his face as he cups her cheek, “Oh thank fucking god! Hey look at me, keep talking to me,” he moves her face so she can look at him with glassy brown eyes.

“You... You okay?” She slurs, “Where’s the vill-?” She moves to sit up, but Katsuki stops her, applying more pressure to her side which causes her to wince.

His smile falters, “Hey, don’t move tiger. Don’t worry about him, you already took him out remember? Just keep your eyes open and keep talking to me.”

“I...did?” Her eye brows crease in confusion. She’s not fully with it right now, he can tell by the look in her eye. Her rosy cheeks are starting to lose their color. His fear is settling in.

Memory loss? Not good. She’s losing to much blood and she definitely has a concussion. If Katsuki wasn’t concerned before, he is about to freak out now. He is reminded once again of his tear ducts existence, but he needs to stay calm and strong for her. He has never been the best rescue hero but he certainly is not the stupid kid he used to be. He can feel her sinking deeper into his embrace, and her eyes are getting droopier by the second, where the hell is this back up?

“‘Chaks what are our kid’s names?” He knows he needs to keep her awake and talking.

“This... hurts.” she says grabbing weakly on to his arm applying pressure to her side. She’s not listening, his eyes are watering now.

“Ochako,” he pleads placing his forehead against hers and squeezing his eyes shut to stop the tears rolling down his cheeks, “Please, talk with me. What are y-our babies names? Tell me.”

“Katsuki...”

“No that’s my n-“ his voice cracks and she stops him with gentle carcass to his face. Her hands are trembling.

She whispers something he can’t quite make out and then her hand falls limply to the floor just as the steel doors fly open.

Katsuki doesn’t sleep that night.

Today is Halloween which only meant it was Halloween party later on that night. There was a lot of preparations to be made before then. Mulder woke up several hours ago to a very naked Scully, her skin was quite warm to the touch, she must have disposed of her clothes during the night. He could feel his erection already starting to build. How could it not, he had the women of his dreams sleeping peacefully next to him her perfect breasts so round full and exquisite, her little round ass crushing into his pelvis.

He kissed into her neck and she woke up slowly to them, he could tell she was awake but simply enjoying what he was doing. He scooted towards her knowing it would make her hum or moan.

“Happy All Hallows Eve Scully.”

He couldn't see her but knew she rolled her eyes at the comment. She soon lost all cognitive speech as she felt his fingers thread over her stomach. He nuzzled into her hair as her hand reached behind her and started stroking his length from root to tip.

“Scully, Jesus.”

He felt her giggle as he placed his hands on her shoulders, bringing her back flush to the mattress. He looked deeply in her eyes seeing nothing but love and adoration from her. They were nose to nose just staring at each other. He lay there on top of her sketching her face in his mind forevermore. His heartbeat was getting louder and louder inside his ears. Feeling the rush of blood flow down into his body he brought his mouth to hers.

In that split second before his very touch on her body made every nerve electrify. It's the anticipation, the suspense, the build-up. Making her crave his body more and more. His mouth wasn’t enough, his touch wasn't enough she needed more, she wanted to feel every inch of him covering her body filling her up making her cry out in pleasure.

He stopped kissing her and looked down at her face, her lips pink and swollen and body flush with arousal he kissed the way down her midsection leaving little red blotches in his wake. He kissed one breast, taking the whole nipple and flesh into his mouth sucking and biting she was writhing and moaning calling his name over and over. He soon moved to the other breast giving that one the same attention as the first.

He moved his mouth down to her thighs then to her knees slightly pinching them and tickling them. He opened her legs to get better access as he worked his mouth on the inside of her thighs before stopping at the apex of her legs. He could smell her arousal so beautiful and sweet like honey, her smell so addictive he could never get enough, he moved his fingers down the sides of her body and through her slick folds before his mouth descended on her clit.

Her body was shaking uncontrollably his actions perfect and magical she didn’t know what he was doing with that tongue to make it feel so perfect and she didn't care. Her hands wove through his soft silky hair. Her body was buzzing, his every touch even a slight one as light as his shoulder next to her thigh felt electrified. Then all at once, he felt like he was everywhere from the tips of toes to the top of his head, his body ignited with a flurry of sensations as her body writhed beneath his, her climax taking over every millimetre of her body.

He lay there and watched as her body came undone, she honestly didn’t know how beautiful she was especially in the heightened sense of pleasure where all inhibitions and exceptions went out the window and she became completely primal it was completely breathtaking to watch. He watched her come back to reality, his body once again flush against hers.

She opened her crystal blue eyes and stared at the depths of his hazel ones. He began to speak and she was mesmerized by his voice. She felt him slip inside her she hummed but listened to what he was saying

“You are my drug, Scully. One-touch and the intoxication is instant. Whatever you want to do is what we'll do and there isn't a thing I can do to stop you - not that I'd want to. Just your scent sends me into a heady trance, one that doesn't end until our bodies are still once more, just warm and snuggled in as close as two souls can be.”

He was slowly pumping inside her taking his time like they had all the time in the world. She was rendered speechless as one lone tear slipped at the corner of her eye. He saw it and looked instantly worried. She saw his face and hushed words to reassure him.

“They are happy tears I promise I just feel truly blessed,” she wanted him to feel some of the passion and love that he was showing her. She felt her hand on his lower back, her legs on either side of his naked body as she squeezed her hips to let him know she was ok for him to lose control.

His rhythm increased and his body felt slick against her own, his head fell to the crook of her neck, her hand raking his back she was close but she also knew he was closer. Her breathing changing, she heard her moans timed to his thrusts. Her heart was racing and matching his, in seconds his lips were upon hers again and it was just long enough to intoxicate her mind before he stopped again. His body went rigid his thrusts stopped he emptied himself inside him.

“Oh, God, Scully,” he mumbled out in the heat of the moment and hearing her name from his lips sent her into the abyss right alongside him feeling her walls clutch him hugging him her body soul melding with his and floating off into the sky, floating away with the morning sun.

He lay on top of her and suddenly feeling guilty for his weight so he moved by her side but she soon missed him and he felt the rush of her heat at his side as she placed her head on her chest. Each listening to each others breathing letting the moment sink in and not letting it pass by.

A few hours later mid-morning/early afternoon.

The sun was high in the sky and it was semi-warm for October. They had been in the main house for a while trying to help make the house suitable for a party. The french doors were open creating a small breeze. Scully had been pretending to bake some sort of chocolate blood orange cookies, but instead, she had been watching Mulder move furniture. He had taken his shirt off several minutes ago he was dripping with sweet his hair was going in several different directions. She could not help but admire his physique with his toned chest and ripped stomach muscles. His little patch of hair that started just underneath his trouser line and up his stomach. She licked her lips and she started at his arms they had got a lot bigger in recent months everything had. She knew he had been running, and swimming a lot more but she also knew he had been boxing at the FBI gym she just never really found the time to appreciate it.

She stopped looking at his body and looked up at his face to find his green eyes staring at her, watching her watching him. She turned her head away quickly hoping he didn't catch her blush. Next thing she felt was his wet body come behind her his hands wrapping around her stomach and he kissed her neck.

“If you got it to haunt it.”

She fully belly laughed and her head fell back into his wet naked shoulder.

“How much more do you have to do.”

“Not much, I need to move two more tables and then place the food trays on them, the boys said they're hanging the decorations since they have the ladder and then it's time for us to start getting ready for the par-tay.”

“How many people are coming?”

“Not that many or so I've been told, as you know they don’t trust many.”

He let go and she nodded and placed the last batch of cookies into the oven.

“What’s got, you so worried Scully?”

“Nothing I just want it to be special, it’s our first Halloween as a couple.”

He looked at her in a certain way and let her words sink in, he couldn’t be any more in love with her it wasn't possible. The fact she was worried it wasn’t going to be special because it was their first Halloween together made his soul hurt.

“The fact that I am with you and knowing you love me makes it special because without you I am nothing.”

She placed the oven mitts on the kitchen table and gave him a kiss as a thank you they stayed like this for a few minutes before they broke apart to start on the finishing touches for later this evening.

Early evening.

They had agreed to get ready in separate rooms and then they would both be surprised at each other's costumes but Mulder made Scully promise they would end up in the same room after the party. And her reply was ‘as if it were a question’ which made him laugh.

Mulder was putting the finishing touches on his Beetlejuice outfit there was half an hour left before the party would begin. He had sprayed his hair green before putting on the black and white striped outfit. He took one last look in the full-length mirror before walking across the landing into their shared bedroom. He knocked and heard her shout to come in. He walked in but she was nowhere to be seen. And within a couple of seconds, his heart fell to his stomach as he saw Scully's outfit.

She was wearing a white shirt with jagged rips all the way through with splattered fake blood on it. She was also wearing a tartan mini skirt also covered in fake blood, her legs covered by an off white knee-high sock with a small bow. At the top, her hair frizzy and wild. Her face paint was grey with black sunken eyes her lips bright red and fake blood dripping from them.

He couldn’t believe what he was seeing his little angel Scully had dressed as a schoolgirl zombie.

“You’re a Zom-babe.”

She watched as his eyes went as black as little saucers as he raked his eyes up and down her body watching his eyes made a blush creep onto her face. Thank God for this face paint.

“Mulder you don’t look too bad yourself, I didn’t know you were a Beetlejuice fan.”

“It’s a classic Scully.”

“I have something for you Mulder.” she walked towards him holding a white envelope and suddenly he had a worried look on his face. “It’s nothing to be worried about Mulder I promise.”

He nodded and took the white envelope from her hands. He looked at both sides and it was completely blank and she was giving nothing away. He opened the envelope careful not to rip the contents which lay within.

He took out the card and flipped it to see what was on the front. His eyes scanned what was there. Which was a cartoon ghost with a speech bubble that read, “Boo there is a surprise that waits for you.”

He smiled and opened the card and inside the card it read, “No Trick.. Just A Treat! Our family is growing by two little feet. Introducing Baby Mulder due March 2020.”

He couldn’t believe what he read so he read that page over and over again he was in shock. He finally looked up to see her smiling from ear to ear her eyes were alight with joy.

“Is this true?” he managed to stutter out in his shocked state. She nodded her face still plastered in a smile

“How far along are you?”

“About 12 weeks I'm due about the 11 March. ”

“How?

“When the birds and the bees get together the stork brings...”

“Alright I get it,” he said sheepishly, “I didn’t think you could have children?” he asked confused.

“The doctors always said there was a 98 percent chance I could never get pregnant as there wasn’t enough ova that reside there but it seems that you have super sperm.”

Now he was grinning from ear to ear, he was like a boy in a candy shop and the shopkeeper told him he could have anything he wanted.

Tears of joy started slipping from his eyes, “Me.. You.. A baby?”

He hugged her and kissed her with a passion of a thousand suns before kneeling down in front of her stomach kissing it.

“Hi baby I’m your Daddy, you’re Mommy and I are going to love you till the end of the universe,” he was the happiest man alive he loved her and he loved this child they had created together.

She watched as he felt her stomach and talking to the baby she knew that he or she could not hear Mulder but she wasn’t about to ruin this moment.

“Mulder we need to get going or they are going to send out a search party.”

“I love you Scully.”

“I love you too Mulder, always.”

He stood up and smiled taking her small hand inside his large one and interlocking their fingers he lead her outside the bedroom and down the stairs and towards the main building. It took no more than five minutes for them to arrive at the main building the sky was dark and the stars shone brightly above them and everything had changed for the better. The party was in full swing as they arrived. The disco lights were shining from corner to corner, highlighting the walls with decorations, balloons, cobwebs and fake spiders. A smoke machine was making everything foggy it would truly be a Halloween party to remember.

“Mulder. Scully Nice to see you”

“Wow, Frohike the Ghostbusters really?” Scully said laughing.

“Yeah, the plasma guns even shoot real plasma.”

“I really don’t want to know,” she smiled.

“Hey, my man what's got you so happy?”

“Nothing just brilliant surprises that’s all.”

“If you say so,” he muttered but soon picked up again “Right, you two no sex in the bathroom this time because I am not cleaning it up.” They both turned bright red in remembrance of that night. “Anyway enjoy that night you know where the alcohol and food so help yourselves.”

Mulder leads Scully towards the punch bowl as promised there weren't many people at the party and knowing the Lone Gunman the way he did he told Scully to stay away from the punch as it was packed full of alcohol to get everyone blitzed. He grabbed a cup full of juice and grabbed himself a beer finding a small table to sit and talk about the last hour.

Lucky the music was on low and they could hear themselves.

“Thank you for not telling the Lone Gunman.”

“My pleasure I took the initiative that you wanted to tell you, mom, first ”

“Yes I do, but you’re the first person I told.”

“You’re my everything Scully always,” he put his hand inside her’s and they smiled at each other truly happy in the moment.

They spent the next couple of hours just enjoying the company around them as well as spending time with each other. His hand kept returning to her stomach and he whispered sweet nothings in her ear. They both joined in with the classic party song and even joined in on the Time Warp from the Rocky Horror Picture Show. and seeing Mulder sing the song over ecstatically made Scully laugh so hard, everyone stared at him but she knew he was only singing for her.

They were now slow dancing in each other's arms her head was on his chest listening to the lull of his heartbeat.

“We should get going before it starts back up.”

“What do you mean? Everything is winding down.”

“Trust me, Scully, it doesn't stay that way for long.

She did trust him with her life and her heart and she linked her arm inside his and headed home for the night but managed to grab a few pieces of chocolate cake before exiting the door. He looked at her suspiciously and she smirked mischievously.

Several hours later Mulder was sitting staring out of the window into the open ocean as waves hitting the sand silently. The small grains of sand being washed away swirling, turning, floating into open waters. The moon cascading its white glow of the ocean's surface. His mind was in a whirlwind of emotions, Scully had told him they were having a baby. That she got pregnant, that he had got her pregnant. Their love had blossomed, this was a miracle and he was ecstatic, he had wanted a family since the last time they were in the quaint house. He didn’t mine a boy or a girl he just wanted it healthy. Though if he thought about it he could imagine a little girl with Scully’s hair and freckles but with his eyes and her nose.. Or a little boy with his hair and blue eyes with small freckles he smiled at the thought.

He turned away from the view and he wanted to keep up the tradition of reading a story or two a night and maybe reading will help settle his mind and let him fall asleep. He crept into the room and watched as Scully's body rose and fell with her deep breathes. She had fallen asleep virtually as soon as she got through the door. He crept in the room grabbing the book from the bedside table before exiting and creeping back down the stairs grabbing a blanket along the way. He got comfortable on the sofa and began to read out loud.

“In a conversation with Mrs. Peggy Balley at the bus station in Williamston, my first book ‘Historical and Traditional Tar Heel Stories’ was mentioned. Legends are among my favourites, Mrs. Bailey said that her mother, Mrs. John Mobley, who lives on Prison Camp Road, might give me some stories. I got in touch with Mrs. Mobley, and the following story was the result.” he was very intrigued and carried on reading.

“On one occasion Mr. and Mrs. Mobley visited his mother, Mrs Jane Bowen, who lived near Bear Grass, During the night they were awakened by a noise in the yard. Mr. Mobley went to the door and called out ‘What’s going on out there?’ The noise stopped for a few minutes and they returned to bed Mr. and Mrs. Mobley were not satisfied, so they went back into the yard and listened closely. This time they heard a baby crying. They followed the cries, which led them to her sisters home a short distance away.”

“Upon reaching her sisters home, they called her. She came to the door and Mr. and Mrs. Mobley told her about the babies cries. She went into the yard with them and they all listened carefully, hearing the baby crying again. They searched all around the house and the area near by, while the cries grew more faint the finally faded away. The mysterious phenomena were never solved. however, a short time after this Mrs. Mobley’s brother dies. Prior to his death, his baby girl had died. The family often thought that this peculiar occurrence, in some strange way, was concerned with the babies cries and the father’s death they wondered if, by some coincidence, the baby was crying for her father to meet her in heaven. After all, he died soon afterwards.” his eyes grew heavy and everything went black.
