So this is my latest stupid thing

These came out in like 2002, you had to order them blind on the internet from Japan. Soon bootlegs showed up on eBay which always made me really nervous to buy any at all but for whatever reason lately I decided to take the risk. I think the main giveaway with the original bootlegs was that the camouflage paint in particular looked terrible and they didn’t fit together correctly or sit on their stands correctly.

These seem OK but I don’t know if someone made better fakes later or if there was a demand for such a thing. MGS2 is kind of the red headed stepchild of the series.

I have a line on almost every figure in the set; ironically the only one I’m having real trouble finding now is Raiden

I'm calling bullshit

#i work in a fucking deli you think im getting everything i need cleaned in exactly 2 hours?#on a slow day yes bc guess what im not helping customers til 8 #but on days like today where we have a sale? and are pretty busy??? fuck no #and! itd be so much easier if we could shut things down even just slightly early (even 30 min could help)#but nooooooo #wednesday when i close imma shut down one of the slicers at like fuckin. 5. (start earlier) cause thats what slows me down #after 8 when i gotta sharpen then clean them all on top of putting food away. collecting dishes. wiping down counters and scales #wiping glass. the wing bar. the whole bird case. sweep. spray the floor. scrub it. then push all the water into drains #or idk do very quick cleanings of the slicers. SOMETHING to speed it up by 8 #if i somehow do get a write up im gonna call up my union rep and see if a literal few minutes overtime to finish cleaning is fine #bc its either a few minutes overtime or some shit don't get done (like my cook today didnt get to do her floors cause she was #cooking until 7 and it takes a while to clean the fryers on top of all the other dishes. machines. counters and WALLS. and the back floors!)#my coworkers have claimed the union does jack shit and maybe thats true. or. there is a chance they just werent fucking annoying about stuff #cause like. i get it the store doesnt wanna pay overtime. then it should give enough time for us to PROPERLY do our job #otherwise itll be half-assed and people will get written up for THAT instead #and id get it if theyre annoyed if youre like. 20+ minutes overtime #but fucking 5 minutes? or even just 1 (as manager warned/threatened)???? if i do get overtime for those minutes i guarantee its barely #anything considering i get paid 15.50 an hour #anyways. im pissed off. and skipping asl tomorrow even if i risk the administrative drop #im skipping the day of that deadline but my grades are decent (a B that I can turn to an A so long as I don't miss more assignments)#so im not too worried. if my professor asks i will say i was incredibly sore (true. my arm/shoulders/back/legs/feet hate me rn)#as well as exhausted (also true. i got home at 10:30 its currently 11 and im wound up so i definitely wont be getting to sleep for a while #and i dont fancy trying to do asl on like. 5 or less hours of sleep with a sleep-and-magnesium (i forgot to take the vitamin) deprived brain #anywho hope yall have a better night 👍#amber's shit you can ignore

Would love to tell this job to go fuck itself in favour of being a park ranger but unfortunately every national park that has given me an offer is somewhere where the cost of living is so egregious that the salary doesn't even begin to cover it. Maybe I should try for park warden instead

#the thing is i dont mind this jobs duties at all #i could do it all day #its all the management and work culture bs that makes it borderline unlivable #if all i did all day was screen passengers and x ray bags it would be nothing to me #i can deal with karens i used to work retail #its all the power tripping and collective punishment and treating us like children who cant be trusted to use the washroom without asking #like 3rd graders. and then making us clock in for it to time how long it takes us to piss and come back #while at the same time saying they trust us to find bombs. like which is it. you cant have it both ways #and then everyone i work with are fucking vultures #who bully anyone different than them and act like theyre better than everyone else because theyve been here 2 months longer #literally i spend like 10% of my mental energy actually doing my job and the other 90% trying to avoid getting yelled at #often in front of everybody else passengers and coworkers #work tales

I just had a thought about something that could be interesting and/or fun. Not something necessarily for this year, but it's still early enough that you could still do such.

But now that we all have our teams, it would be neat if there was a story that had multiple parts that were contributed by people on the same team. I know it's not a team challenge like that, but it would be kind of interesting to see.

#you don't actually want to know all the thoughts that I have about working a collective story together #it would take so much work and coordination with other people #but at the same time could lead into such an epic if there was a team crossover story #where potentially 3-6 people (1-2 from each team each doing a different genre) managed to combine/crossover their stories in some way #but also the original thought of just two people on the same team working together to create one story #it wouldn't even have to be retelling the same scene #inklings challenge #inklings brainstorming week #inklings-challenge #inklingschallenge #inklings brainstorming session

I actually fucking hate audiobooks so much. I CANNOT listen to someone sit down and drone on down the mic in the most uninspired, bored tone imaginable that gets the cadence of the sentence wrong half the time so I lose track of what's actually being said. Where's the voice acting. Where's the beautiful accompanying background music. I grew up on BBC audio-drama CDs my standards are HIGH. Listen to the Wind in the Willows on BBC sounds and try not to cry at the bittersweetness of it all. Trust me it's got Stephen Fry and everything

Turns out Sonic Adventure 1 is actually fantastic and Sonic Adventure 2 is as wonderful as I remember it to be, if not more

#finally been playing some 3d sonic #sonic Adventure 2 was my first ever exposure to the franchise when i was a kid #mari plays videogames #modding sa1 is imperative if you're playing the steam version #sa2 is a bit harder to mod but i managed #also the chao garden is good and should come back #“it stops the action” stfu sega the chao garden makes me revisit the levels over and over and i get good in the process #i enjoyed the collectables in sonadow generations but they were tied to concept art #music etc #don't ask me to look for rocket parts ever again #sonic brainrotting

#my post #i feel a little bad about complaining about it sometimes #because it’s not like i have super serious afflictions #and we’ve gotten some handled through this or that #but. i’ve just got. such an extensive collection of #‘‘bodily things that would be fine individually albeit annoying; but i’ve got all of them so it makes for a frustrating existence’’#subacute eczema. the worst of the bunch. only on my hands but very itchy and still eczema #scapular winging or whatever they call it when you can pop out your scapulas at will.#not very bad at all. the least offensive. just aches sometimes and makes me worry #some tinnitus. a tad annoying. i hear it most when it’s quiet or i’m inside. sometimes it flares but not often. tuning it out isn’t too har #chronic rhinitis. i got some surgery(?) for this one. lotta nose sprays.#my nose is almost always congested and runny and going anywhere without tissues is dangerous.#dry lips. also not altogether that bad it’s just annoying and it gets cracked and sometimes painful to open my mouth too wide ig.#we manage that one well with whatever lip products my sister gave me. it’s not very bad #dandruff? maybe? is it dandruff or just scalp skin? i got no clue man #and you’re like. ‘‘okay you’re right those are all quite annoying. but is it really that bad?’’#and i’m like ‘‘No. but have you Considered that i have to deal with them all at Once?’’#BUT THAT. ISN’T EVEN IT. ‘CAUSE IT’D BE ONE THING IF MY BODY WAS JUST BUILT LIKE THAT. #a sock speaks #work tag #food tag #it was high 80s today but I didn't even notice bc the air conditioner at restaurant job is punishingly high powered #I was wearing my long sleeved undershirt and leggings without any discomfort #but I have to run errands tomorrow and my car has no AC. the house also has no AC but is okayish at staying cool.#I wanted to make pizza today but didn't have time. might be too hot for pizza tomorrow :( but my ingredients are aging in the fridge #I finally got a paycheck but it's for the 2nd period I worked. I'm missing the first one and need to talk with the regional manager #and he's only in on Thursdays #also gotta request a day off to go to Portland with my cousin in 2 weeks #also gotta request off for orchestra which also starts in 2 weeks #also my aunt is trying to recruit me for a caregiving job and I'd have to take 3 weeks off to get trained #it'd be super easy to schedule both jobs once I'm trained but the training is a big time commitment #also restaurant job scheduled me for all graveyard shifts this week. if I can't adjust my sleep schedule I'll have to give a firm no on it #also gotta go to the bank to deposit my check and. uh. all of August's tips (terrifying)#also gotta call a vital records office in Maine about my mom's birth certificate bc we're trying to take her to Canada for her birthday #I don't think we have enough time but my sister wants to do it #also I want to finish knitting this sock that I started in June. I just have the toe left #also I finally confirmed the color and pattern for a baby blanket I'm preparing as a gift so I gotta get yarn #also I need to buy blackout curtains to fit my windows so I can sleep in the day if I work nights #also sometime this week my sister is cleaning the church. I want to go with her so I have an excuse to get ice cream from a shop nearby #also I need to clean my room and I should hang up the art prints & postcards I've been collecting for months #most of them are green to match my decor but some are just characters or scenes I like #oh! I also owe a postcard to a school friend #I had caffeine for the first time in several days and my brain is buzzing. there's so much I want to do and I have time to do it #and I'm excited about it!

Unfortunately as someone who needs to take trains in england i cannot be a dedicated máv hater and am in fact a máv defender. A máv lover, if you will. Yes in hungary trains are old shit gross unreliablr unpleasant crowded & lame. But they are old shit gross unreliable unpleasant crowded & lame for 2000 huf a journey. In the UK the trains are slightly less old but equally shit gross unrealiable unpelasant crowded & lame & it's for £50 a trip. For 2000 huf the máv ellenőr could beat me up with a stick and i'd still say thank you for your service king i love you. Also máv has a discount for people 18-25 greater than what is offered in the UK and in the UK you have to buy the railcard for £30/yr to access it too.

#dad calls me insane for this one #but that's because he's enough of an anglophile to swear alleigance to the crown for a citizenship and mean it #stars textpost #one time i bought a return to and from newcastle (im a freak southerner) & it cost £200 w/ railcard to go to an event which they cancelled #& they told me i needed to mail them my ticket to refund me. but when i went to collect my ticket it said it had alr been partially redeemed #bbygirl the train has left and im not on it what are you SMOKING #that was so much money 😭#on god it would genuinely have been cheaper to fly domestically from london to newcastle instead. unfortunately id have had to take the #train to london #huge L on that one #1 time i had to take a 3 leg journey and they fully cancelled all trains on leg 2 when my foot was half onboard the train for leg 1 #wisely forseeing that this was a predicament i got a cab.#just in time to be inform that the train on leg 3 would be stopping at every station except the airport #i was going to the airport #i did manage to get that one refunded tho lmaoo
