wish my laptop still worked so I could replay starcraft and try to force my brain to get back into obsessing over it because writing for it was honestly a significantly more rewarding experience than writing Resident Evil stuff is. with RE it feels like there's competition. there's enough fic that people aren't going to read all of it, there's new fic constantly. the fandom also has a ton of talented people making fanart. it's harder to be noticed.

but Starcraft is a tiny, extremely dead fandom. it was years ago when I wrote for it, and it's wayyyy deader now than it was back then. if you want Jim Raynor/Sarah Kerrigan porn you're probably set, but if you want to read anything else pickings are slim. the OTP that I wrote for currently has 13 fics on ao3, and that's including my own fics. When I first started posting fic, there were only two fics, mine was the third ever posted. (mine was the second ever in English actually, the very first fic was Mandarin. Which I read via google translate because I was desperate for any scrap.) fics that came after mine... one author I felt wrote them very out of character but I still read everything they wrote because there was nothing else.

fanart is a desert too. p sure there's less than 5 pieces of fanart of my OTP in existence. ofc there's more if you broaden to Starcraft overall and not just my ship, but still there's just not much compared to other fandoms. I recently got a comment on my 2018 fic from someone saying that, among other things, they recently got into Starcraft and have never been interested in fanfic before but decided to start reading it because there wasn't enough fanart to satisfy them.

the thing with writing for Starcraft is that the audience is going to be inherently a lot smaller than RE, and yet it feels like a bigger audience because the entire audience wants to have everything you have to offer. I can say that confidently because I've been on both sides of it, both posting fic that I didn't think was all that good or had weird concepts I came up with myself and yet had doubts/mixed feelings about that still got engagement, and then with me reading fic that had things I didn't really like but still read because being picky was a luxury I didn't have. more people are going to click on my RE fics, maybe more people will leave kudos on them, but at the end of the day they're drops in the bucket and aren't as impactful to people because they're just one of a dozen RE fics that person read that day. I do feel that my starcraft fics will always be more appreciated because even if it's less people reading them total, it's people who feel far more passionate and grateful that they even exist at all. I can post extremely high effort RE fic that I consider to be my finest work and get a single comment at best and a handful of kudos, but I guarantee that I could post some shitty half baked barely coherent starcraft oneshot I shit out in an hour and it would get at least the same amount of engagement because people will take what they can get when they don't have hundreds of other fics to try and sufficient fanart to give them a quick fix, and they're going to be a hell of a lot more grateful to you individually when you're one of a very, very few people providing what they want.

just very interesting how different writing for different fandoms can truly be.

Today is Rokka's birthday but, did you know the day is also considered RAS Day?

On 2018/07/17, in THE THIRD 2nd Live Tsumugi Risa was added as the final member, completing the band and starting RAISE A SUILEN!

I find really sweet this was chosen to be Rokka's birthday. RAISE A SUILEN began on that day and in the story, she was the one who made them become complete!

shakedown (2018) - a doc abt a black lesbian strip club i was in love with these women with the relationships they built for themselves the space they built where they could be beautiful and free. the femmes and the studs and the queens and the respect and love they held for eachother. again another portrait of a specific moment in a specific scene

i saw the tv glow (2024) - i can’t really talk abt this movie. but it did change my life. and it haunts my thoughts. it’s one of a kind i’ll think abt it forever. you still have time. god.

gay usa (1977) - doc abt the san francisco pride parade right after harvey milk was murdered. really really interesting to see what were the most talked abt topics and what felt most urgent back then. it’s a lot of interviews with the queer ppl and allies present and it just warms the heart 💝

only lovers left alive (2013) - i love!! vampire love!! it’s so lonely and old and unconditional. to know someone perfectly well and float back to them again and again as the world changes around you

blue (2002) - i love movies abt teen girls who are in love with each other and wildly codependent and toxic abt it. i love the way they loved each other i loved how they just couldn’t say what they meant i loved the way love just made them more lonely. there’s a scene where one of the girls is trembling with desire and hurt and confusion and it makes me crazyyyyyy. such a beautiful movie as well, this moment where you’re a few months away from not being a child anymore and you don’t know what to do with the fact that your entire life has already passed you by

✨️✨️✨️I was literally saved by Metalocalypse, and in particular, ironically, by William Murderface!✨️✨️✨️

There will be a very long stream of thoughts here...if you read this to the end, I will be glad, because it is incredibly important for me to share such intimate feelings...

● Back in 2018, I had no idea that this show would have such an impact on my personality and self-expression, I was just a little bored in the summer, and I decided to watch this show...And that moment has come...

● And... I just got fucking carried away, it's perfect-comedy, high-quality metal music, and of course-damn interesting characters who have a written story-it's the perfect combination of everything that I liked in the fictional stories, what I wasn't looking for, but what I needed!

● It was from that very moment...I just lost my mind...maybe it wasn't noticeable to others, but for me personally, internally, yes, I changed my mind-that's when I started an Instagram page, I shared drawings, and oh my God, I even started communicating with people of interest (before, I wouldn't have had the heart to even write to someone first or leave a comment lol), now I know a lot of artists in the fandom, and a lot of people know me, and even fan for me, lol (if the young me had known where I was going because of some cartoon about stupid metalheads (lovingly💖💖💖))

● But, one character stood out especially vividly for me, like a star in a dark sky, like the sun among dark clouds, like a guardian angel, like a prince, like a knight in shining armor, he came into my life-William Murderface❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥✨️✨️✨️

● Maybe at this point someone will call me crazy, but somehow I don't give a fuck now, at first, by the way, accepting the fact that I was in love with him had very big problems, and even selfshipping...

● But, somehow miraculously, I didn't even notice at what specific moment I began to draw a lot not only of him, but also, oh my God, of myself with him!

● He's still my main muse all day long hahahaha!🥰🥰🥰💖💖💖💝💝💝

● Well, you all know perfectly well that I am very madly in love with him, and literally from every social network where there is my profile, I shout about it, but I will tell you something else now...

● The fact is that Willy gave me a very important piece of character that is incredibly important in life-to be brave, to be assertive when necessary, to stand up for yourself, not to be afraid to express your emotions (although I'm still working on it, but now I'm doing better with it), express myself (I literally wore only black all through school and didn't even decorate myself in any other way lol) and my creativity as often as possible, he also taught me to relax when necessary, as well as to look at some things easier (I'm also still working on it, but it became much easier for me to do it by thinking about him), and most importantly-don't give a shit what others think about me or my actions, even though Willy has self-esteem problems himself, but I always damn like it when, despite everything, he doing some shit anyway, because he wanted it hahaha!

● I... it's just that I was so damn closeted mentally before when I was a kid...and I didn't even see that as a problem...and now I look back, and I realize that it's really sad...I just felt that my soul was asking for something completely different, and I didn't understand what exactly...

● It was Willy who kept giving me that feeling of security and confidence that I've been missing in my life...it is at times when I have no strength left-I still know that he is next to me, and therefore everything will be fine with me, no matter what! :3

● Even if I am completely abandoned or abandoned by others...He'll always be with me, I'm sure of it...because I would have done the same for him...

(Once upon a time, there was a middle school girl who loved everything Kirby. She was waiting for a new game to come out in 2018 everyday at school. That game had introduced a new ability "artist" Kirby. And that girl would then go on to also create funny little blue guys in the future. This "artist" ability, would then go on to be reimagined as a silly, hyper, and kind lil' guy. This "guy," would go on to be the artist KAITO 🌟)
